  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Barking Singh Sabha has transformed into a Congressi Establishment. There was not a wall in this Gurughar that didnt have Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's pictures on. Now they have all been taken down and recently on Vasakhi the committee invited the Indian High Commissioner and his Indira Ghandi lookalike wife! The High Commisioner will be attending the Farce Tournement. He’ll probably sit back on the day and think what Indira couldn’t achieve in the 80’s, corrupt committees and so called Sikhs are achieve – turning our backs on Guru Ji’s principles and sacrifices. This Congressi Committee has no right to include the word Shaheedi their pathetic tournament. Shaheedi & Congressi cannot be linked! It is an insult to the martyrs of 1984
  2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Does anyone in the Cyber Sangat know the Akhand Keertanis attending such as Manjeet Singh Glasgow? They must be informed about Lemington Gurdwara's activities.
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Im disappointed with AKJI's choice of Gurdwara. All are aware the activities that are promoted by the committee of this Gurdwara. The affiliated hall within the Gurdwara boundaries is constantly booked for Wedding Receptions. The sound of the music from the hall can be heard clearly from the Darbar Sahib and the Sangat have to constantly face intoxicated revelers in the shared car park. The Gurdwara committee have ploughed funds from Donations into creating something totally anti-Sikh. Monies from this hall are then used for the maintenance of the Gurdwara and its plans for further extension. This is a major problem, AKJI must not support them, I would urge them to reconsider to another Gurdwara.
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pioneering is the word that comes to mind. I hope Khalse close to Gyaniji write his biography. It will be amasing!!! FATEH!!!!
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Namdhari Sangat UK Forest Gate (East London) is allowing Garba to take place in their ‘Gurdwara’ on the top floor. Within this ‘Gurdwara’ you will never find prakash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji however SachKhand is on the first floor. There is just a door between these Garba revellers and Guruji. Sadh Sangat, Namdharis have reduced their ‘Gurdwaras’ to halls. I cant imagine that the Gujrati community will refrain from smoking within the complex. Shoes are beening worn and heads uncovered!! We must make a stance and stop this from happening. I am making further enquires and will post info on the forum asap.
  6. what else can people interpret from your postings 'r.kaur'? This is what it it looks like. if your opinion stands so does everybody elses. simple as that. there's no point in getting into any arguments. as the Singh and Singhnees have kept requesting just get Avtar Singh to agree to a meeting. discuss the issue, resolve and we all go home. Nice and Easy. why don't you speak to Avtar Singh and get him to agree to meet the Campaign wale!? his tel number (if you don't already know it) is at the beginning of the thread. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Charan Singh Heston, UK
  7. Does anyone know why Tapoban closed it? There was no reason as the discussion was very diplomatic. 'panthsewak' was definetly Avtar Singh Hoonjan's chamcha or Avtar Singh Hoonjan himself.
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Good idea veerji. At the very least if we can all e-mail info@menzies-hotels.co.uk, it should make them realise the intensity of the situation. Even 20 e-mails would be enough to get the ball rolling. This is beanti to whoever views this thread today, please e-mail info@menzies-hotels.co.uk inform them why it is against Sikh Principles to take Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in to any place which serves alcohol and meat. Tell them that will be offending millions of practicing Sikhs around the world if they allow this act to take place. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! This Gurdwara Sahib is linked with those Asian Marriage Bureaus who arrange weddings to cater for all needs. Someone told me that Guru Granth SahibJi was taken to Birmingham a few months ago from this Gurdwara for a wedding in a Hotel. Looks loke we can definetly confirm this. I will contact the campaign guys.
  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I am shocked by the reply TavPrasad Singh got from the Library. I sent this email to them earlier today: Dear Mr O'Keefe I feel you reply to Sikh concerns is not satisfactory. If fact I am offended by that you & the Library are interpretating issues within the Sikh Community for your own means. Within the Sikh Daily Prayers include 3 prayers from Sri Dasam Granth. All Sikh Authorities agreed with this and it is the core of the Sikh Religion. Exhibitions done in 1999 cannot be justification of exhibitions in 2004. Advise must all be taken and all scenarios must be constantly reviewed. I have no issue about promoting multi-culturism within the UK. It will benefit our community. However like all religions Sikh Religion has its principles that must be adhered. Your display has Sri Dasam Granth open at a page with has paintings of our Gurus. The exhibition is only promoting as an artefact, you are not promoting Sri Dasam Granth as religious scriptures. Therefore your exhibition does not display religious diversity of Britain. This exhibition has been organised without advise from the Sikh Community, therefore everyday you continue to "display" Sri Dasam Granth you continue to offend Sikhs. I ask you to reconsider. You must revoke Sri Dasam Granth from the exhibition immediately in order to mend ties with the Sikh Community. This is a poor attitude from a Public Body. GurFateh!
  11. A small Jatha of Singhs visited the British Library at lunchtime. In the Rittblatt Gallery, we discovered a full saroop of Sri Dasam Granth 'displayed' in a glass cabinet - there were no rumalla's covering it and it was open. In addition, there was what appeared to be a full saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in a separate glass cabinet! It appeared to be laid on a cushion and had rumalla's underneath it and was uncovered i.e. open. The notice said 'Selections from the Guru Granth Sahib'. The Singhs immediately spoke to the head of the Asian Department, Graham Shaw. He said that the saroop was not the 'standard version' which is accepted as being the Guru Granth Sahib ji today. It does not contain all the bani's which are in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. When asked which bani's, he had no answer and said that he would consult with the 'Sikh' scholar Jeevan Deol (School of Asian and African Studies, University of London) who had conducted an examination of the saroop. He also pointed out that other Sikh texts had been exhibited in a similar way in previous exhibitions without any complaints and that they had consulted with the Anglo Sikh Heritage Trust. The conversation ended with him undertaking to find out exactly what the saroop was from Jeevan Deol. The Anglo Sikh Heritage Trail appears to be connected to the Maharaja Duleep Singh Centenary Trust. The trustees are D S SIDHU, JS BOPARAI, J S NAGRA, S S BAHIA, and YADWINDER SINGH SUMRAY. They seem to have large amounts of funds As a bare minimum , all Gutka's and saroops should be covered in rumalla's and not left open. What does the Sangat think should be done???
  12. Please call or write sangatji. Please post any feedback that you get from the Gurdwara.
  13. Looks like we will need to turn up!!! Can all UK Naujawan who use this forum start spreading the word. If we could get 300 Singhs & Singhnees down to Trafalgar Square to stand up AGAINST our Guruji’s Beadbi, even with the threat of Fascists and Islamic Extremists, then what's a bunch of immoral committee members or a bunch of drunk wedding guests??!!?? The threat of beadbi by Al-Muhjurioun at Trafalgar Square was tentative, but we are 100% certain that there will be Guruji’s beadbi on 22 August in Northampton.
  14. The Gurdwara details: Sri Guru Singh Sabha. 17-19 St Georges Street, Off Regent Square, Northampton NN1 2TN, United Kingdom. Tel: 01604 634641 Please start writing to Amarjit Atwal, the President at the above address. We have under 2 weeks to do something!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Try ringing in the evening, I don't think the Gurdwara has much activity during the day. I spoke to someone earlier who put the phone down on me, but someone has spoken to the Pardaan directly. I will try to get his mobile number on the forum. In the meantime, just keep adding the pressure by ringing the Gurdwara. The Gurdwara's phone number is 01604-634641.
  16. Guruji to be abused AGAIN! Action required to STOP Guruji being taken to Hotel The committee of the Gurdwara in Northampton, UK have agreed that Sri Guru Granth ji's saroop can be taken to the Moathouse Hotel for a wedding on Sunday 22 August. http://www.moathousehotels.com/html/frames...otel&HotelId=52 The hotel has at least two active bars within the premises in which the hall is situated. Is this how low we have sunk? 400 years since Guru Arjan Dev ji had the Aadh Granth Sahib compiled, we allow Guru ji's saroop to be taken to places where actions take place which are completely against the words of Guru ji? Guru Amar Daas ji has said "Drinking alcohol, his intelligence departs, and madness enters his mind... Do not drink the false alcohol at all, if it is in your power." (Limb 554 of SGGSJ). And Guru ji says "Kabeer, those mortals who consume marijuana [drugs and tobacco], fish [meat] and wine [alcohol] - no matter what pilgrimages, fasts and rituals they follow, they will all go to HELL. ||233||" (Limb 1377 of SGGSJ). Why should we care? Because Guru Nanak Dev ji has said "The fire of evil-mindedness is bu rning up the world. THEY ALONE are SAVED, who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Sabad. ||2||" (Limb 225 of SGGSJ). And how are we treating Guru ji's Sabad? The President of Gurdwara Committee is Amarjit Atwal. He confirmed todaythat: 1. The wedding would take place; 2. They know that a Hukamnaama of Akaal Takhat Sahib has banned this; and 3. That they are doing this due to force of circumstances i.e. the Gurdwara Sahib is too small. The Secretary is Jagtar Cheema and Santokh Uppal is the Treasurer. The Gurdwara's phone number is 01604-634641. The family were contacted over two months ago and alternatives suggested (at the time, invitations had not been sent out). The alternatives offered was a very large marquee (not perfect but far better than a hotel with bars) or nearby Gurdwara Sahibs which are far larger i.e. Bedford. We owe a duty to Guru ji to take a stand against this - otherwise where will it end? Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji being taken to massage parlours, pubs, lap dance bars? PHONE the Gurdwara and ask to speak the President or other committee members A delegation of concerned Sikh naujawaan and elders are going to meet the committee this weekend - keep up the pressure!
