Ironically, when these committees were asked to call in on the show to comment live on air they lost their voices. But as soon as the show's off air, the get their list of complaints out. The complaining committees should have been soormay enough to mitigate comments against them on the show there and then. Sikh channel are sell outs when it comes to these committees and I can guarantee we can guess who complained. At least sikh channel didnt show repeat that RST birmingham shambles of a panth time show!

Rana's ok but he suits the over censored approach of sangat tv anyway. Let's see if the competition of these 2 channels produce better quality presenters. Sikh tv on the other hand need to buck up, they're cashing in on gagandip singh's death, but once that's over they've nothing much to offer. I think we'll be just left with Sikh Channel and Sangat Tv and the competitive streak should help produce better quality of programmes.

The propagation of the sikh dharm starts from the homes. Couples who commit to the anand karaj around Guru ji make a commitment to Guru ji that sikh principles will be the centre if their lives. They commit that their children will be brought up as sikhs. The core of the couples life is Guru ji/Sikhi. Not demonising people who have married out of faith, but your life as Sikhs can only move forward if you both follow sikhi. One spouse following another faith only causes suppresion in the other's jeevan.

Great show that you guys present. The Satkaar Campaign and Out of Faith marriage show was really good. Pls can u do a show on the "generation gap", Do elders see youth as a threat? why the elders do not allow youth in the gurdwara committees and why so few youth get involved in gurdwara committees. Why are no youth mentored into being leaders and why do the same people hold onto kursiya for years and years. This is a major problem for the progression of our community.

When I rung the Gurdwara number I got to someone who said he was on the committee who said he agreed that it is wrong to allow meat and booze in the hall but said they need to make sure they cater for the sehajdharis as no one will come to the gurdwara otherwise. What a sellout! I'm calling again tomorrow to hear the pardaan's story. I was told to call between 9am and 4pm as the committee members will be in.

Where's it gone? Did admin get pressure to remove? Chal, truth will come out anyway. With Guruji's kirpa, the sangat will find other ways to highlight what the committee are doing in GNSS Gurdwara complex. May waheguru one day bless these committees with gursikhi jeevan so that they realise the errors of their current ways.

Yep. 100% with you. The focus of the gurdwara are the core activities around Guru Granh Sahib Ji Maharaj. No gursikh should even promote the consumption of meat, alcohol and parties even by helping someone book a hall. There were good points raised and overall a good show. Sikh Channel deserve a pat on the back for this one. Bring on more youth discussion show with kam singh, a good panel and vocal audience. There should be a follow up show which focuses on the actual issues and the actual problems with the masand, sorry i mean committees who do the beadbi of sikhi by pushing their sangat to drink alcohol.

Am i reading this right, 2 newbie individuals from the town of dudley think they have the right to judge a young member of the committee for resigning from this shambles of a manmat committee who have the audasity to openly abuse our gurmaryda. The provoking attitude of sikhpaji (who is clearly a committee member of rst) shows that any meeting would be a waste of time with apostates who have renounced gurmat. The attitude of sikhpaji is disgraceful & shameful. With all due respect I think satkaar are being to polite to this committee, they clearly have no respect for sikh principles and gurmat. It's time to communicate our outrage at the committee of ramgharia sikh temple. Why not just organise a protest these comming weekends to communicate how offended and upset sikhs around the country are. Sangat jeo, just organise a protest, we'll all be there.....

Having suffered for a week now with the simran jingle of the SOFA COMPANY advert which comes on the Sikh Channel, can the Sikh Channel double check their footage as we keep seeing the repeated image of the bikini model in the background of the factory scene. It may not seem big to someone who as 24 inch TV screen, but to someone who has a 50 inch TV the image is large enough from my gigling 8 year old nephews to notice. And before you ask, the reason I am posting on Sikhsangat.com is that I have more confidence that Sikh Channel will respond here than via email and telephone.

Its essentially a kebab house with a few veggie dishes (just like 100s of other greasy kebabish places). I have only jumped on this thread because you have never responded to my emails and the emails of others who raised concerns about your promotion of anti sikh gurdwara committees who blatantly abuse akal takht hukumnamas and serve alcohol etc on the gurdwara complexes.

Just like a khanda can be used to stir the amrit, it can also chop peoples heads off. Something might seem like it's revolutionary but in essence it could actually be counter productive. SC is Davinder Bal, it's not the sangats channel. Its governed by the mat of mr bal which could prove dangerous for the panth. What makes me uncomfortable is that this national committee that sc are creating along with the likes of dhesi, joga, sanghera and other self nominated waste of space leaders. They dont even want to sort out the beadbi in gurdwaras and they want to be a sikh voice. Im not backing people like this, and they cant claim to represent sikhs.

All sikhs have a moral responsibility to uphold sikh principles. U can be a channel or a jathebhandi, there no difference because u all claim to be the voice of sikhi. Akal takht are surpressed by the india system, they are unable to be a voice for sikhs under the current climate. In todays age the media has more influence than anything else and when sc came about we hoped they would have the balls to be a voice. After months of cringe worthy appeals for dds, we thought that sc might make a difference even if it is run by business man davinder bal, who does not have the greatest reputation and even has a stake in one of the Adult Channels and BritAsia...as non sikh as it gets. How can a channel run by someone with no sikh principles promote sikhi. Its like Ramgharia coventry running an alcoholic rehab centre.

Please can someone brief Babaji on the situation we have in the uk regarding party halls. Please can the budha dal help highlight the issue on their travels around the uk.

Dont rely on any self proclaimed uk leaders to have the intelligence or passion to deal with the party halls. Also the local sewadars wont bother changing the practice as they have lost their spirit and accepted the beadbi. We need fresh blood to take this forward. A new jatha needs to be set up, like original R4G was set up 6years ago.

We are dropping our dd's. Between all my family we have 8 dds and contribute around £80/month. The sikh channel has not listened to any of our requests regarding issues of beadbi at gurdwaras.
