  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The school usually puts on these types of programs in adjacent buildings, but they have a separate gym and theatre it doesnt seem necessary to hold the dance next to the Darbar Sahib. There are quite a few Amritdhari students in the school and should have complained as they probably knew what was going to happen. A benti to them; they may not be able to stop these shows but can atleast request that respect for Maharaj is maintained. We shouldnt tolerate beadbi of Maharaj. The school should be contacted when term starts. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh You can buy it from the Boss Stall which is usually around on BOSS events up and down the country, UK. Alternatively you can email the boss-stall and see why you cant buy it online. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I agree with both Akaali and SikhRoots, nowadays youth only understand this type of music and lyrics and again they are doing a good sewa. However they are not amritdhari and are showing Sikhi saroop in a bad light. Sikhs are not encouraged to go to pubs/clubs or dance so why make a video that is working against the sewa and parchaar they were trying to do. They are confusing their sewa with their personal choices and preferences and so some young Sikh mite turn around tomorrow and say well the tigerstyle SINGHS can go gigs then I can too. It sounds stupid but we are in Kalyug and this is what happens, its if he can do it why cant I, in the end the underlying message will be lost. Guru Gobind Singh Ji would not allow his Singhs to act like this then why are we making it acceptable. Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru Ji Ki Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh This track was done as sewa for the Immortal Productions Albums as they have done in the past. However they shouldnt really find the need to make a video and set a bad image of kesdhari/dhamalla wearing Singhs. Like the previous posters have said it makes it okay for keshdari/dhamalla Singhs to dance and go to gigs. They are setting a poor example and should be more careful about what they do especially in Sikhi Saroop. Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I have heard a Sakhi about the time of Guru Arjan Dev Ji when Sri Harimander Shaib was in construction. At this time it is reported that Waheguru himself came to help complete the construction of Harimander Sahib. Waheguru was helping with Har Ki Pauri and he met Guru Arjan Dev ji and they merged into one. Can anyone tell me what Har ki Pauri is and where abouts it is? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Does anyone have any suggestions to translate the word Ghatra into English? It has been reffered to as a sash?-does that sound right? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I have heard a story of recent times in England, when two Paathi Singhs we doing an Akand Paath, one Singh was tyar-bar-tyar whilst the other was a bit weak. On the first night of the paath one Singh was reading Bani whilst the other was sitting in the room. They both felt that there was a presence of something supernatural, it was something scary. The weaker Singh got really scared and ran away. The other Singh put his hand toward his Kirpan and slighlty exposed it; he felt the spirit leave quickly. I personally have come across other storys of recent times when Sikhs have met with Spirits, that have scarpered after being scared of the Kirpan and Kara. If anyone in the Sangat has any more stories or any information into the spiritual power of the Kirpan I would appreciate it if they would share it with the Sangat. 9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The idea seems plausible but there can be some flaws. Such as disagreement between the five. The idea of donating dasvand to sikh schools in poor area's is also quite good. This way you know that the money you donate is helping someone to improve their life. In terms of the comments made of where the sewa of dasvand goes to, once we have given the sewa it is bheta to Gurusahib. We shouldnt worry about it going in someones back pocket. The fact that we gave it as sewa is all that counts. If everyone adopts this view then no one would give dasvand. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh To be quite honest Panjab Radio doesnt have a very strict view on Sikhi. Most of the presenters are very punjabi/hindufied when it comes to sikhi. I am not trying to bad mouth or do nindiyaa but they are classified as katabi or textbook version sikhs. When Sikhi is clearly much more than that. And it seems they have proved that once again. 11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I wanted to know what the Sikh stance is on organ donation? So far I have found out that as a Sikh you are doing a sewa by donating your organs when you die. This is said with Gurbani references. On the other hand a Nihung Singh told me that you cannot donate organs as in your Antim Ardas/Final prayer their is mention of 'panj pootat sareer' (sorry forgot the actual term used). 12. Waheguru Ji Ki Khalsa Wheguru Ji Ki Fateh There are loads of things that would be good for the youth, the easiest thing is to make a list of suggestions and go and see someone in the Gurdwara committee. The new committee in s'hall is quite gud already met them and made some suggestions. Such as: Punjabi classes, Santhiya, Kirtan (Raag and other)classes, tabla classes, sewa sessions, discussion forums, workshops, lectures, library resources, katha, kirtan programmes and camps.etc. Waheguru Ji Ki Khalsa Wheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I used to be alot like what you described in your post. But spoke to a Taksali Singh regarding forgiveness and he said, If we dont forgive eachother how can we expect God to forgive us. We stand infront of Maharaj daily and ask for forgiveness for all the beant mistakes we make everyday yet we cant forgive someone for one mistake. Why would Maharaj forgive us? After that conversation I used to use the word forgive so many times even for small things you slowly start forgiving. It also helps to control anger, you think that would you expect Maharaj to be angry with you for these mistakes etc. It isn't easy but I think that Japmans and Nehmat have given some good advice. Thats just my point of view. Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, This question was put to Taksali Kathakar Balbir Singh, he said that If you bow onli before Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj then Maharaj will not strike you down for going home and touching your parents feet. The idea of bowing means that you are a owned by a master, however by touching an elders feet you are simply recognising that after all they are in some way superior to you being your father, mother, grandparent etc. You should respect all the relationships given to you by Maharaj. Personally it is completely up to you, some people to matha tek in front of Guru Sahibs paintings others in the door ways to Gurudwara's or Sachkand. It comes down to the level of respect you have at the end of the day none can equate to Maharaj. I agree with the last post you shouldnt in anyway do beadbi to Maharaj by showing respect for someone else in this case you can say Fateh. Bhul chuk maaf Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh At Sachkand Sri Hazur Sahib part of their Arti/Arta includes the pangati below- Thribhagee shandh | khag khandd bihanddan khal dhal khanddan ath ran manddan barabaddan | bhujadhandd akhanddan thaej prachanddan joth amanddan bhaan prabhan | sukh santhaa karanan dhuramath dharanan kilabikh haranan as saranan | jai jai jag kaaran srisatt ouabaaran mam prathipaaran jai thaegan | I know that it comes from Amrit Keertan but I havent been able to find a translation. Can you pls help me find it. Thanks Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru JI ki Fateh
  18. WJKK WJKF I think the general concensus is that women cannot be a part of the Panj Pyaare due the traditional view. When Guru Gobind Sing Ji asked for 5 heads no women stepped forward and so it makes sense that only men can do this sewa. In repect to all other sewa's women can do anything a man can do. Also as an aside the Panj Pyaare due to rehat are required to only wear a bana without any pyjama so it wouldnt really be practicle for a Bibi to do the sewa. Bhul Chuf Maaf. WJKK WJKF

  20. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I would have to completely agree with Jasleen K. Why would u want 2 dance to the rubbish that passes today as bhangra/music? However this is Kalyug so as usual there will be SOME people that will tell u its okay do wot u like, the best advice I can give is ask Maharaj. Maharaj will have the best answer (maybe not the one u wanted). Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Thanks all, I will get in touch if i need anymore info. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
