  1. i can speak very rude pendoo punjabi that i learnt from older punjabis, if anyone wants to hear? but text message english speakers, they annoy the argh out of me.
  2. bloody eck, we are agaINST cultural things now? why not just convert to islam? and what about those head-bop kirtanis that look liek they're dancing whil sitting down? People who say we can;t dance, well quite frankly who do they think they are?
  3. firstly, i don;t know why aliens would use the sikh term, when their could be any number of universall terms used. maybe on some planets, the sentient beings don't divide themselves between sikhs and non-sikhs?
  4. hmm interesting, the way Sikh is used in the translation almost makes it seem that the translator thinks these vaars are esclusively for sikhs, when they are for everyones readings?!? is there another way of translating "aykaa naaree jatee hoi par naaree dhee bhain vakhaanai|"?
  5. so u r saying the people who took over gurdwaras invented bhangra? that is illogical thinking u make it seem like a crime theres no place for bhangra, who says? i don;t think its gurmat, i think its personal views. look if people really don't like sikhs doing bhangra they can make their own jatha and ban it in the katha rules, but rest of sikh panth will do bhangra and no one can stop us, ju will have to su-sad bumb us now be a good sikh and give shaheedi against the evil bhangra doers, brrruuaaahh
  6. i disagree, we should know so that we can then see which organisations that came about british times have lost khalsa traditions. Organisations that lack lineage to Guru Gobind Singh jis times may well be giving amrit in strange or different ways, although they may be "panthic"?
  7. that is cool, but i am associating myself with bhangra to annoy the anti-bhangra fanatics, a few of who i have come into contact with in real life. i am sure it will be taken out of context )))) i guess u have spoken something else u should be doing simran, now stop typing on the computer...
  8. i disagree, khalsa fauj is a military movement created to fight the invaders and also to protect dharma.
  9. rajdeep that is totally taken out of context. also nothing wrong with bhangra, in fact the bhangra moves come from the warrior martial arts used by singhs anyway, and i don;t mean gatka. i didn't watch the vid so don't know how they're dancing, but in general i do not follow any anti-bhangra jatha, and i do see some bad side to dancing, but to totally say doing bahngra is bad is rubbish and has nothing to do with sikhi. and don't tell me singhs didn;t do bhangra after victory.
  10. so they're gonnaforce people to wear bana in khalistan?
  11. so wait we lived with hindus for 100s of years, and before that we were hindus ourselves, but now we need to leran how to live with them? :6
  12. I think you should tak to him if he is just spending time with friends instead of you. Also you should find a place where there are other women to talk to, maybe the gurdwara or some community centre.

    Kara

its not liek most of us wear a proper sized kara anyway, most of us wear small thin ones that just can't really be used as a real kara can be. So a mona wearing a kara or not... its not like most of them wear the real thing anyway. just a symbolic version. I think its also useful to know how to use a kara as well. also war bracelets would have been used by other civilisations and races as well, in no way are they limited to sikhs or the khalsa fauj.

well from some of the families i have observed, theres families that just give amrit to their children at a young age, and then don't teach them any manners to them or any way to behave at any age lol. Also then theres these other sikhs who think they have to take amrit, but they don;t have any values, just know how to do paat and go gurdwaras. Theres also the people who try and give amrit to absolutley everyone, you know like a numbers game, similar to how many peoeple from other religions like chrtisianity and islam try to get people do join their religion. Basically givin amrit to a characterless person isn;t very effective lol
  15. hmm jathas, as in these organisations. someseem to have their own rehits. Some have gone even further for example views on bani and even kakkars. Many use a jatha name like caste is used. For example you will see this on event leaflets. ALso they seem to have come about in british raj times, and lineage before this time is questionable.

    Dating

I thinks its sad they just had to date, no one forced them besides themselves. I do not see how getting to know someone requires becoming ones partner or ex, do you? And of course, it is also a choice of our own to decide to have one partner per lifetime as opposed to many. I mean who wants something 2nd or 3rd hand or more. and ditto to them why marry me when they can go and make more boyfriends? I do not wish to stop them from making more partnerships, they can go and enjoy )))) they don;t need a possible spouses list when they have a possible boyfriends list to get through Also to add to thise, all these people who complain about sikh girls running off with pakistanis, well if they want to behave liberally then I do not see why I should stop them just because of someone's race or religion? well the best thing to do is to do stuff undercover if they don;t want to be judged. Of course from the original poster it doesn;t seem to be a problem because it seems his friends and peers probablybehave this way anyway and is more annoyed at his parents for having a more honourable menatility. Of course I think he should do what his parents say.
  17. i would tooo like to no why some amrit dhari sikhs think they are superior then somone who isnt baptized... and how is this gonna help yur jeevan(spiritual path).......... dunno, but some people don;t act spiritual because they think they should take amrit first, lol.....
  18. we have to remember these sgpc singhs in akal takht are following a the type of sikhi preached by the lahore tat khalsa singh sabha movement which fitted in with and was influenced by the british governement of british raj india, and Dasam Granth was one of something british got sikhs away from to remove tht bir rass which would have opposed us to the british. Many sikhs who were part of this movement removed Dasam Granth from many of the gurdwaras they took over and forced their protestant "version" of sikhi whcih doesn't fit in with Dasam Granth Sahib.
  19. I will help, if you message me the problem, I will help the best I can or ask one of my many contacts :D
  20. BEcause there jatha gives a special type of amrit that sends them to sachkhand and everyone elses amrit doesn't. No only us jatts are disrespectful lol :LOLz: :LOLz: I see most people using the names Singh and Kaur these days. As to non-khalsa sikhs, it is not hukam to them to use these last names since they haven't taken amrit. This includes people in some sampradaiye such as udasis. I have also seen ravidassia still continuing their middle names. This is also similar with dalits and chamars in my pinds, who also have different middle names. yes like in this thread : http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=37684

    lol why whats wrong?
  22. I wouldn't use the amritworld site as being totally right, the views are biased. I also found this on the sarbloh site lol (from the Akali Nihangs section under sanatan sikhs) I have censored out parts that would be offensive to this website lol : The Sanatan Sikhs - The Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Page 4 of 4 Nangs cont'd A further issue that has to be highlighted is that ALL those Sikhs who are not Nihangs by action, tradition, attitude or the wisdom they possess, but, instead dress up as Nihangs to mislead people are also considered Nangs. Many such fakes now exist and have convinced people they are Nihang Singhs. However, they are but fools, deceiving themselves, and those around them. There are also many man-made personality cults such as the (censored), self-proclaimed Sants (saints), and their followers, that have adopted the Akali Nihang Singh uniform and (wrongly) claimed it as their own. This is a feeble attempt to appeal to people to gain new recruits. They in the most part do not even understand the origins of the uniform let alone its significance. Some such groups have even accused the Akali Nihang Khalsa of not being true to history in order to keep the limelight away from their own hypocrisy and cult status. Even many militant, fundamentalist, fanatic groups that have nothing to do with the Sanatan Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa, such as the (censored) who are the militant wing of the (censored), have also adopted this same image of the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa. The followers of such movements are frequently depicted adorning the Akali Nihang uniform. These same individuals insult and ridicule the very knowledge that brings about the uniform, heritage and traditions themselves. This section has caused an uproar from the groups guilty of being Nangs. However, this is inevitable as the truth will only hurt those individuals who are living a life entwined with hypocrisy, lies and confusion. In the eyes of the Sanatan Sikhs, and especially the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa, these people are in fact seen as even lower than Nangs, as they insult the very wisdom itself. These personality cults, and self-proclaimed Sants are now sadly gaining the most members, both in India, and around the world under various names and guises.

    Dating

well to be honest, when someone says that they are dating, most, probably all times, they have meant that they are partners ie bf and gf. Which I definetly see more than a cup of tea. lol An d it does leave me bothered if when I get married that all the girls that are left are nes that say they have ex partners. lol So I do get more bothered aboout dating then I normally would, because it still somehow affects me and others when choosing a partner for marriage, ie who not to choose.
