  1. Fateh Ji, Many in India look at the Gujarat riots and 1984 Genocide on the same level. In fact some in the Media term the Gujarat riots as a genocide but call the 1984 genocide as riots. Point that needs to be noted.... in Gujarat both Muslims and Hindus lost lives guring the Gujarat riots. However, in the 1984 genocide just Sikhs were killed. There were no casualties on the other side. Guru Rakha
  2. Fateh Ji, That's because I suffer this aliment! For my fellow sufferers this was meant! And I forgot to say that each one of us feels our Moms make the best ones!!! That's because Moms kneed in love into the pinnis for their daughters and sons! Guru Rakha
  3. Winter’s come late this year, In fact in December many had not even aired their winter gear! Many expressed ‘global warming’ da fear, But now the fear’s turned to ‘balle balle’ cheer. Come winter and I get calls from relatives living in Bombay, ‘Must be really cold’ concernedly they say, They get to ‘see winter’ on Etc’s direct relay from Darbaar Sahib sitting in Bombay! ‘It’s the best time’ I cheerfully say! Morning bed tea comes with a pinni …. Diabetics beware, In winters you need that extra cheeni though Diabetics should take care, Sarson ka saag and makki di roti are the regular fare, Only downside ….all around dakaars (burps) blare! People eating peanuts in their unique styles are to be found! Some have perfected the art that they crack shell after shell without a sound! Peanut shells are found all around on the ground, And to peanuts Government Officials are culturally bound! Coffee and tea give internal warmth and warm hands too, Mention kanji (made from black carrots) and water comes in the mooh, Kadai milk with badam and malai are a must in every do (Party), Also means more trips to the loo!!! In winter the sun seems so friendly, Come summer and the same sun turns deadly, Any place in the sun and people sun themselves gladly, But these sunny days are reducing sadly! In my home come winter and Babaji’s Palki Sahib is shifted to its Winter place, The sun it directly does face, Come summer and Palki Sahib will again shift base, Out of the sun in a cool area in Baba ji's room the Palki Sahib will grace!!!! Winter is joyful but end December is painful!!! This is the time that when the heart with pain is full, When praises of Sahibzadas are on every bul (lip), One’s heart sings praises of Guru Gobind Singh ji who for humanity sacrificed his entire kull. 4. Fateh Ji, http://www.tribuneindia.com/2008/20081229/punjab1.htm Sehajdhari Issue SGPC to file fresh affidavit in court Challenges HC locus standi in Sikh matters Varinder Walia Tribune News Service SGPC chief Avtar Singh addresses the media in Amritsar on Sunday. A Tribune photograph Amritsar , December 28 In a volte-face, the emergency meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee executive committee today decided to stick to the definition of Sikh mentioned in the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925 according to which only a Kesadhari could be a 'Sehajdhari'. The meeting, chaired by by SGPC chief Avtar Singh also decided to constitute a three- member committee comprising of Raghujit Singh Virk, Kewal Singh Badal and Rajinder Singh Mehta , senior vice-president, junior vice- president and executive committee member respectively to fix responsibility of those responsible for submitting 'distorted' definition of 'Sehajdharii in Punjab and Haryana High Court. The three-member Inquiry committee would submit the report to the SGPC president within two days for taking strict action against the erring officials. The affidavit was filed by Harbeant Singh, secretary, SGPC who had been in the news for getting job on the basis of 'fake certificate' of matriculation. Though he (Harbeant Singh) was sacked during the tenure of the presidentship of Gurcharn Singh Tohra but he was re-instated after his (Tohra's) death. After the meeting, SGPC president said the Shiromani Committee would also challenge the locus standi of the Court to 'interfere' in the internal matters of the Sikhs. The SGPC president said as per Sikh Gurdwara Act the Sehajdhari is a person who performs ceremonies according to Sikh rites; who does not use tobacco or kutha (halal meat) in any form. The Act further reads Sehajdhari is a person who is not a 'Patit' (apostate) and who can recite 'Mul Manter'. The Sikh Gurdwara Act further says 'Patit' means a person who being a Kesadhari Sikh trims or shaves his beard or Keshas or who after taking Amrit commits any 'Kurhits'. President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Paramjit Singh Sarna sought resignation of the SGPC chief for submitting wrong definition of the Sehajdhari in the HC. However, the SGPC chief alleged Sarna had been openly supporting the Congress party which was responsible for Delhi riots and Operation Bluestar. On the other hand, the DSGMC president said the Shiromani Akali Dal, led by Sukhbir Singh Badal had alliance with the BJP which instigated Indira Gandhi, the then PM to launch Bluestar as mentioned in the political biography of L.K.Advani, PM candidate of the BJP. 'Religion not subject to adjudication' Chandigarh: Religion or belief is something personal and individual, says Tarlochan Singh, MP, urging the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, to withdraw its affidavit from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. "Normally, the courts should not intervene in such matters as religion is something individual and personal and a direction or order of a court cannot distinguish between a Sikh and a non-Sikh," argues Tarlochan Singh, a former chairman of the National Commission for Minorities. Bhai Nand Lal and Bhai Ghanaya were people who held their belief in Sikhism though technically they never embraced Sikhism. "If someone has belief in Sikhism, no one has any right to challenge him or her belief. As such it is no matter for legal adjudication," adds Tarlochan Singh. Except for Sikhism, no other faith is linked to organisation. "To be members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee or voters in gurdwaras election is something different than being a Sikh or to having firm belief in Sikhism. But determining someone's religion based on a legal adjudication is unwarranted and totally uncalled for." — TNS Note: I don't know how Tarlochan Singh calls Bhai Nand Lal ji as Sehajdhari. In my previous post I've quote a few lines from Bhai Sahib's Poetry that clear indicate that Bhai Sahib had chakod Amrit. I agree that the Indian Courts have no locus-standi in this matter. Courts cannot intefere in any religion. Guru Rakha
  5. In the face of such grave injustices how can one forgive???? Salt is rubbed in our wounds time and again. The perpetrators of the riots are made Minister (Tytler and Kamalnath). Rahul Gandhi announces in Amritsar that the perpetrators of the 1984 riots should be punished. And a few days later he's seen on TV sitting with Tytler on the podium discussing something with him. Before asking Sikhs to forgive please try to read Phoolla Ji's book 'When a big tree shook Delhi'. And if possible try to visit Tirlokpuri in Delhi and talk to some fo the victims. Advising is the easiest thing to do. Guru Rakha
  6. It saddens me to see our Politicians treat this day as a a day to woo voters. They set up podiums for themselves and rather that speaking on the martyrdom they talk elections. And this time its even more with the general elections around the corner. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2008/20081226/punjab1.htm#11 Jor Mela a platform to woo voters Congress blows poll bugle, SAD (A) announces candidates Gurdeep Singh Mann Tribune News Service Fatehgarh Sahib, December 25 Religion took a backseat at the ongoing Jor Mela as political parties left no stone unturned to woo devotees and made tall claims foreseeing forthcoming elections. While the SAD-BJP indulged in mudslinging against the Congress, the SAD (Amritsar) announced its Lok Sabha election candidates. However, the absence of former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh remained the talk of the day. Paying tributes to sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh’s, SAD leaders called for a change of guard at the Centre. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal used this opportunity to highlight achievements of his government and urged people to elect BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. He lashed out at the previous Congress government, accusing it of an autocratic style of functioning. SAD president Sukhbir Badal, too, spoke on the occasion and outlined major initiatives of the government towards the progress of the state. SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar spoke about the pilot project of SGPC Nanhi Chhaan. Prominent among others included Cabinet Ministers Manoranjan Kalia, Captain Kanwaljit Singh, Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, general secretary, SAD, Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra, former president, SGPC, Kirpal Singh Badungar and others. From the Congress camp senior leaders, including president, PPCC, Mohinder Singh Kay Pee, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Shamsher Singh Dullo, Payal MLA Tej Parkash Singh, MLA Kharar Balbir Singh Sidhu, ex-minister Jagmohan Singh Kang, MLA Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira, ex-Minster Harbans Lal and others started their active campaign for LS polls from today itself. The SAD (Amritsar) declared its candidates for two Lok Sabha seats. SAD (A) president Simranjit Singh Mann announced he would contest elections from Sangrur constituency, while Dhyan Singh Mand would contest elections from Ferozepur. Guru Rakha
  7. Following article captioned ' Tytler taunted mob for not killing enough Sikhs' appeared in TOI dated December 26. Jasbir Singh, a key witness in the 1984 riots, who will record his maiden statement with the CBI on Christmas Eve in San Francisco has sent a copy of his affidavit to TOI before deposing in front of CBI. He fears there may be tampering but is determined to tell CBI that on November 03 that year, he saw ‘ Minister Jagdish Tytler rebuke his supporters for not killing enough Sikhs in the area, despite being given full freedom.’ Jasbir decided to give statements in the Media in USA last year, following a case closure report submitted by CBI in Court. CBI had cited inability to trace Jasbir Singh, which meant giving a clean chit to Tytler for lack of evidence. A resident of Tilak Vihar, Delhi, Jasbir had earlier given affidavits to Jain Aggarwal Commission and Nanawati Commission stating himself to be an eyewitness and called Tytler as the ‘mastermind and leading conspirator of the 1984 Sikh massacres’. Surprisingly , he was never called for testimony. In the affidavit , Jasbir has stated that after a mob razed his house on November 1, he shifted with his Uncle but his Uncle was killed. Jasbor saved his life by cutting short his hair but lost 26 members ofhis family. One Sucha Singh, whom he met in a relief camp , took him to his house in Qutram Lane. ‘It was here, while going through the new locality’ that a clean shaven Jasbir hd seen a group of people near TB Hospital. The day was November 03 and time 11 pm. ‘ As I went closer, a car arrived and minister Jagdish Tytler got out. I recognized him as he used to visit trans- Yamuna area along with Sanjay Gandhi. He immediately started rebuking the people assembled here, saying his instructions were not carried out faithfully; that his position had been greatly compromised and lowered in the eyes of Central leader as there have been only nominal killings in the constituency as compared to those in East Delhi , outer Delhi and Cantt.’ He said ‘ I has promised large scale killings of Sikhs and sought full protection, but you have betrayed me and let me down. Saying this, he left in a huff ‘ the affidavit states. Jasbir who drives a truck in the US for living , had also claimed that he and his family members continued to receive threats even after he left India in 2000. Following the allegations of harassment of another victim Surinder Singh by CBI, an anguished Jasbir Singh said ‘ Recent Mumbai killings were highly condemnable and we demand punishment for the terrorists. But, if the Police could track the case within 59 hours, why is it that not a single perpetrator of the 1984 riots has been punished till date?” AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad , whose Association is trying t trace the eyewitnesses , maintained ‘By sending the CBI to USA , the Government has once again gien Sikhs great hopes that justice may finally come their way.’ In a box: Canadian Lawyer asks CM to intervene Moga: Canadian Lawyer of Punjabi origin has expressed concern over the alleged failure of Punjab Government in the rehabilitation of 1984 riots victims affected families. Whe addressing a meeting of the 1984 riot affected families of the district here on Thursday Paramjit Singh Sandhu appealed Badal to personally intervene in the matter to provide maximum financial help to the victim’s kin. Sandhu added he would also take up the issue in the NRI Sabha meeting in Jalandar next week so that the Sabha could help out the victims financially.’ Note: After doing beadbi of his kess Jasbir grew back his kess http://in.truveo.com/CNNIBN-1984riotsjasbi...e/id/2926808769 Guru Rakha
  8. This article appeared in today's ( Dec 25) Times of India (TOI) on Page 2. Caption is '1984 riots witness accuses CBI of harassment'. After a collective grilling of 14 hours spanning 2 days, Giani Surinder Singh – one of the two eyewitnesses of the anti Sikh riots being questioned by CBI in USA – has alleged harassment at the hand of CBI. “ It seemed that instead of Jagdish Tytler , the anted to portray me as the perpetrator of the 1984 riots. Otherwise why should they be asking irrelevant questions like what clothes , shoes and eye glasses were people in the mob wearing and from which localities they came. These questions should have been directed at Tytler, who brought the mob and directed then to ‘kill Sikhs first and rob them later’ n angry Surinder Singh told TOI from New York. CBI Spokesman Harish Bhal, however, refused to comment on the development saying that the case was still under investigation (sic) and thus CBI could not share any information. He claimed that it was usual to face allegations during investigation. Surender Singh’s attorney , Gurpatwant Singh Pannum – who is also the Lwyer for the other witness Jasbir Singh – added “ Its astonishing and mind boggling that a legal witness of Jgdish Tytler’s role is questioned for 15 hours while the accused is not even questioned for 2 minutes.” Singh who had earlier recorded his statement with CBI here in February this year, also questioned he necessity of interrogating him again. “ Please remember , that I along with my family , was trying to save my life and was hiding in the roof of Gurudwara Pulbngash . I wasn’t in the mob where I could notice the mobs attire. Tytler being a prominent politician , was a familiar face , so he was instantly recognizeable , but how am I supposed to know the rioters and from where they came. All this happened 24 years ago and I’m already 68 years old. They (investigation agencies) are trying to wear us out by dragging the case and many of us would die in the process” Singh rued. The Granthi, who moved to US eight months back after his deposition before CBI in Chandigarh, alleged that not even a single question about the role Tytler played in the instigation of the mob and killings of the Sikhs was asked. The Gurudwara building had been set on fire and 36 Birs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were burnt on Nov 01, 1984. There's picture : Hunting past : Various human rights advocates, New York Officials and Sikh Groups gathered outside the Consulate Of India. They hoped the new testimony by Surinder Singh and Jasbir Singh would bring worldwide pressure for the case to go on trial. In a box : Other to meet officials on X-mas The other key witness, Jasbir Singh, who has given his eyewitness account before several Commissions , but has never been contacted by any investigation agency, would be meeting CBI officials at San Fransisco in the Indian Consulate. Jasbir Singh alleged after his Media statement in 2007 , he was contacted by someone close to Tytler nd offered bribe and intimidated him , but he refused to change his statement. So as can be seen Rahul Gandhi tried to endear himself to Sikhs and behind the scenes in my opinion Congress has got CBI into the act to try to get Tytler cleared. Guru Rakha
  9. Fateh Saad Sangath Ji, Tomorrow (December 26) is the day Guru Gobind Singh Ji's younger sons Zorawar Singh Ji and Fateh Singh Ji achieved martyrdom (shahaadats). In History there is no parallel to these shahaadats. Tonight was the last night and both the Sahibzadas with their Grandmother Mata Gujri Kaur Ji were imprisoned in Tandha Burj ( cold tower). Even today after global warming has made temperatures rise one shivers in the evening when one does parikrama of the Burj. My request to all Parents: please do let your kids know of this shahaadat. And when you come to Punjab please do take your kids to Fategarh Sahib. I have another request: this very sad time in Sikh history coincides with the marriage season in India. Please try that you do not keep the marriages of your kids in the last two weeks of December. Some Kathaakars refer to Mata Gujri Ji as Bhudhdi Mata (old Mother) . Please do talk to them and request them not to do so... it sounds very crude and disrespectful. Guru Rakha
  10. What's happening today is people are literally getting 'long distance' Akhand Paath Sahibs done. They are not present when the Akhand Paath Sahib is done and the Hukam is intimated to them via post or email. In some Gurudwaras they mandate that someone form the family has to be present during the Akhand Paath Sahib Ji. Akhand Paath Sahib is an oppurtunity to listen to Bani , read Bani and do Sewa. I feel one must do Sehaj Paath as via this mode one is able to read and understand Bani. Guru Rakha
  11. I was indeed surprised by Justice Kehar’s declaration ‘ We are all Sikhs’. This statement can be put to a very easy litmus test. I’d request him to take a Patit with him to any place in India and proclaim that this Patit is a Sikh and he’ll get the answer when people will retort ‘Without a turban and beard how can he be a Sikh?’ Numbers have never mattered in Sikhism. However , as Justice Kehar lives in Chandigarh he would have seen many Patits wearing turbans. This is because they know that without a turban they cannot call themselves Sikhs. Historical perspective is as follows: If you ask me Sikhism has already been clearly defined in the Rehat prescribed by SGPC. One has to realize the importance of Guru Panth to understand the relevance of this Rehat to Sikhs. The use of the term panth as a system of religious belief and practice, synonymous with marga or religious path, is quite old. Several medieval cults used it as a suffix to the names of their preceptors, such as Gorkhpanth and Kabirpanth, their followers being called Gorakhpanthis and Kabirpanthis. Even the Sikhs were earlier known as Nanakpanthis. In the Guru Granth Sahib, panth is used both in its literal as well as in its figurative sense. In the former sense it frequently occurs in poetical images of a love-lorn soul with her gaze fixed on the path (panth) longing for the Divine Lover, God, or the Guru who would unite her with the Supreme Being. In the latter sense it is often combined with an adjective or noun as in mukti panth, path to liberation, uttam panth, the superior path, nirmal panth, unstained, pure faith, dharam panth, religious creed and hari ka panth, way to God. Bhatt Kirat, a bard whose verses were entered by Guru Arjan in the Guru Granth Sahib, identifies gur-sangat, holy assembly of the Sikhs as uttam panth (GG, 1406). Guru Nanak, too, had used gurmukhi panth, religion of the Guru-wards for those (the sangat) singing God's praises (GG, 360). Bhai Gurdas (d. 1636) uses panth for the entire body of Sikhs when he, eulogizing Guru Nanak, records: "He vanquished the party of the Siddhas with his discourse and created his own separate panth" (Varan, 1.45). A further dimension to the concept of Panth was brought about by Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708). He introduced the initiation by the double-edged sword and, to repeat a line from an old verse, transformed the sangat into Khalsa. The Panth was now identified with the Guru himself. "The Khalsa is my special image," he said, "I abide in the Khalsa. Khalsa is my life and soul." The Panth, now called Khalsa Panth, was the Guru Panth. Guru Gobind Singh at his death declared the Granth Sahib as Guru everlasing for the Sikhs. The line of living Gurus came to an end and the Guru Panth became its own leader under the guidance of the Guru Granth Sahib. The term Panth became more popular possibly for its assonance with Granth. There were a number of Rehatnamas and Guru Panth appointed a Committee of learned Sikhs to go into various Rehatnamas and come up with a Rehatnama that stood the test of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Rehatnamas enlisted the Rehats that the Authors claimed were prescribed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Panth ensured that only those Rehats that stood the test of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji , which again was compiled by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and ordained as jugo jugg atal Guru of Sikhs by Guur Gobind Singh Ji , were made mandatory. Point to be noted is that all Rehatnamas mandate Kess for a Sikh. Every Guru Sahib polished a facet into Sikhism. First Nanak gave Sikhism its foundation, the concept of Ek Onkar and the touchstone of Sikhism The Mool Mantra. Second Nanak showed Sikhs what acceptance of Guru’s will is , he compiled writings of Guru Nanak Sahib ji and introduced the Gurmukhi script. Third Nanak disavowed caste with institution of langar and pangat. Fourth Nanak showed Sikhs what humility is. Fifth Nanak showed Sikhs what Shaahdat is and he compiled the Adi Granth. Sixth Nanak gave the Sikhs the sword and the concept of Miri and Piri. Seventh Nanak showed Sikhs that no one could change Guru’s Bani and the consequences. Eight Nanak showed Sikhs that on the path of spirituality age was immaterial and what compassion really is. Ninth Nanak again showed Sikhs what Shahaadat is. Tenth Nanak made Sikhs into Sant Sipahis, showed Sikhs how to accept Waheguru’s Bhaana and compiled Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and made Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji the Eleventh Nanak and Jugo Jugg Atal Guru of Sikhs. Anyone trying to differentiate between Guru Nanak Sahib Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji is on the wrong path. “They distinguish and separate one Guru from the other. And rare is the one who knows that they, indeed, were one. They who realised this in their hearts, attained Realisation of God.” —Guru Gobind Singh, Dohira, Vachitra Natak Some people also try to say that Bhai Nand Lal ji who was very close to Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a Sehajdhari. Whereas if one is to read the following stanza from Bhai Sahib’s poetry it is evident that Bhai Sahib was a Khalsa: LAL SAG GULAAM GURU GOBIND SINGH DAAD-DAAR-E NAAM GURU GOBIND SINGH Nand Lal is the slave dog of Guru Gobind Singh; he carries the stamp of Guru Gobind Singh on him. Khalsa is the one who partakes Amrit, Sikh is the one who qualifies to partake Amrit and that is why Kess are a must for being a Sikh because other Kakars like Kirpan, Kachcha and Kanga are not a part of our body and can be worn at a moment’s notice. Khalsas are Sikhs who have partaken Amrit. That is why other four Kakars are not mandatory for Sikhs who have not partaken Amrit. Sehajdhari is one who was not born a Sikh but has turned to Sikhism and is slowly adopting the requirements of the Faith and Patit is one who was born a Sikh but has done beadbi of his or her Kess. Judiciary should respect the Constitution and not interfere in the internal matter of a religion. Judiciary cannot and should not undermine SGPC. I hope this clarifies the role of Guru Panth and the misconception on Sikh and Khalsa. Vikramjit Singh
  12. First please do note that on an ordinary day about 70,000 people come to do Darshan in Darbaar Sahib. On weekends, Masya , Puranmashi and Gurpurabs the number can go upto 5,00,000. I go to Darbar Sahib regularly and I've never been pushed. In fact Sangat is very patient and caring. Elderly, mothers carriying kids , pregnant women are gently asked to move ahead. Wonder if you bothered to look aroung and see why all the pushing was tkaing place? Guur Rakha
  13. Fateh Ji, Recently be it movies ,ads or TV Soaps there have been lots of Sikh roles. One must keep in mind that Bollywood makes movies for the Box Office and so we must be vigillant that thier Box Office dreams are not nightmares for us. There is a movie on the famous Saragarhi battle coming up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Saragarhi Hope they don't undermine the bravery and sacrifice of the twenty one Sikhs. And one must keep in mind in those days the 'clip clop' ( Patits) variety were far and few. Guru Rakha
  14. Saad Sangath Ji, The Barfi is covered with Varak or silver foil. And quite often they use duplicate silver foil which is harmful. I think when it comes to Barfi one should be more worried about the Khoya that they use to make Barfi. The commercial Khoya can contain all kind of insects as it is prepared and stored in this most unhygenic conditions. At least in India you should be careful about the Barfi you eat. Also remember Barfi actually has a very limited shelf life. Guur Rakha
  15. Fateh Ji. Badal is just like any politician in India. A politicians religion is power, And he's very 'religious' because power is on his mind every second of the hour! What I rue is his hold on SGPC. And by the looks of it is a stranglehold. Hope and pray Guruji cures the Panth of this scourge..... politicization of SGPC. Guru Rakha
  16. what does the term granth mean?I am confused can we call Guru Ji as Granth Sahib or not? :S Gizza Ji, Rest assured I have no personal animosity with Big B. He's a Super Star and I'm just an ordinary guy, so question of any personal animosity does no arise. In fact when he paid back his loans ( ABCL) I was pretty impressed with him. Then came this allegation and in a previous post I've provided the links. I found merit in the allegation as Rajiv Gandhi and he were thick as thieves. Amitabh as per allegations was involved in many deals in those days and he had the blessings of the Gandhi family. And as per reports all Rajiv's buddies incited mobs. May I request you to kindly read the book ' When a big tree shook Delhi', maybe you will understand the pain of Sikhs. Sometimes we get enamored by the roles Stars enact, not realizing that what they enact in reel life is not the same as in real life. Guru Rakha
  17. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh As I understand Akali Dal is saying that Badal is upset because Vedhanti praised Manmohan. I feel this is not the real reason. After delimitation Sukhbir Badal can no longer stand for elections from Faridkot and is looking at Bathinda as his new constituency. In Bathinda this Dera Baba has a good hold. I feel Vedhanti has been just made the fall guy in Badal's poltical game. And please do remember this is the fourht Jathedar who has had to resign. Guru Rakha Refer: http://www.delimitation-india.com/ http://www.punjabnewsline.com/content/view/11533/38/
  18. Saad Sangath Ji, There is this Website which on the face of it is a Gurudwara Website but one look at the articles on this Website and you realize something is very wrong. http://www.acsagurdwara.org/ Please read this article: http://acsagurdwara.org/defsikh.html Although Guru Gobind Singh offered the highest honor to Khalsa, he did not expect every Sikh to become khalsa. One of his most favorite poets Bhai Nand Lal and more than half of his other poets, for example, did not become khalsa. Therefore, Dashmesh Pita 10th Guru Nanak should have no objection to the definition of a sikh we are endorsing. This is a good lesson to avoid making it a controversial issue. (Going back to rahitnamas etc doesn't help. As many of us know that rahitnamas written by Chaupa Singh, Bhai Nand Lal, Desa Singh..... are not in agreement with each other.) Fact of the matter is: 01/ If Guruji did not expect Sikhs to become Khalsas then why did he create the Khalsa 02/ Its been discussed in the old Forum and ample proof has been given that Bhai Nand Lal ji just used this name as his pen name and that he had taken Amrit and beocme a Khalsa 03/ There is a Rehatnama by Guru Panth . All the Rehatnamas were studied and only those Rehats that stood the test of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were prescribed. The Author of this article is a proponent of Patitpuna. I have him on record proudly saying that in his area (Durham) there are four Gurudwaras run by Patits. Point to be noted on the Website of the Gurudwara he is the karta dharta of the name of the Granthi Ji is prominently displayed. We must try to stop this kind of wrong propaganda. I've written to SGPC and Jathedar Sahibs and would request Sangath in US to try to take p this matter locally. Guru Rakha
  19. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh Bachchan is in Toronto and has started his Unforgetable Tour. You can get the itenary from http://www.theunforgettabletour.com/ We must protest his role in the 1984 riots. Guru Rakha
  20. I agree with Sarpanch, the time has come for Dhumma to jack his b/s chandigarh sit-ins which are achieving nothing. They need to move things to Sirsa and target the pakandis dera or at least the major roads around his dera if they want to carry on with their sit-ins. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh This is not the first time that a Sikh has been killed by Dera followers. Sikhs should strategize to tackle the Dera. The Sikhs should take on the Dera in Sirsa and Sikh Bodies should mobilize Jathas to Sirsa. Call his bluff, Catch this goon by his scuff, Time to get rough. Guru Rakha
  21. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh India's power situation is woeful. In India Power generation has never been in sync with demand and now the gap is just widening. Cost of generation is also going up. Nuclear Power is an answer to India's power woes. However, as this Nuclear Deal is with USA, Indian Communist Parties are opposing it. Had this Deal been with Russia Indian Commies would have been pushing the UPA Government to ink the Deal! Its said that the Chinese Nuclear Deal is much more stringent that India's Deal. And Pakistan has signed a Nuclear Deal with China. Also as this Deal is with USA certain fundamentalist Muslim organazations as againat this Deal. Deal is good for India but sadly today Indian political Parties are looking at what is good for their individual Parties. All the best
  22. Not according to this website... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs Chink- used to refer to people of perceived Chinese descent, and by extension for other East Asians. Considered extremely derogatory. lol hahahah have u read the other words on here peacemaker this is all jkzz.. i mean honestly words like banana wud prolly be a real insult to a chinese then the word chink ok.. an "4 by 2".. im sry i was under the impresion tht was wood used for contruction lollllll Saad Sangah Ji, Fateh If it can fly, walk or swim Chinese will eat it. Raw, semi cooked or cooked. This is also a kind of joon! Guru Rakha
  23. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh I feel Guruji foresaw the ills of tobacco. Even today if you take the stats you'll find less people die of alcohol realted diseases than tobacco related diseases. All the best
  24. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh A Sikh does not believe in this kind of mumbo jumbo. For all you know this could be a ploy of Hindus to inject superstition into us. Guur Rakha
  25. Saad Sangath Ji, Fateh On a trip to London I was standing in the coourtyard of the Gurudwara which is very near the Southall Station. Just oppoisite the Gurudwara there's a Pub Glassy Junction.
