For me personally amritvela is 3 hours BEFORE SUNRISE. In summers, when the sunrise happens at around 5.20 am, I get at around 1.30 am and do my amritvela from 2.20-5.20. In winters, at my place sunrise happens at around 7.15 am. I get up around 2 am and do my amritvela from 3-6. So, basically for me amritvela is the time 3 hourse before sunrise and this 3 hours shud come between 12 hours from the previous day's sunset.

In order to reach God, one has to meet the True Guru, the Satguru. IN Sri Asa ki Vaar, we read bin satguru kinnai na payiyo, bin satguru kinnai na payiyaa! The dharmas of previous yugaas were limited to the 3 qualities of maya and dint give mukti to mortals. All prophets, avaataars of other faiths were unable to escape the MIGHTY KAAL. I have always wondered about the tukk in Sri Asa ki Vaar where Guru Sahib has used the term "neel vastarr" for the clothes worn by muslims. I recently met a kashmiri muslim who is very well educated and at the same time is very closely connected to the kashmiri culture and history. He told me that in Kashmir we call "harraa" as "neelaaa". He also told me many amazing things about kashmiri singhs. He said that sikhs in PUnjab are so different. He was so much of praise for kashmiri singhs that he said "if I get permisson from allah tallaa to opt for a faith other than islam, I will become a sikh".

ok, for me, the main problem with dancing are the music and the venue. listen to the lyrics in banghra. it's all about sex, booze, fighting, etc. NOT exactly what gursikhs should listen to, right? second, where do people dance? clubs? filled with booze, cigarette smoke, and drunk people. again, not exactly the right environment for sikhs. if you can find clean music and a clean venue (maybe guys only or girls only), good luck getting anyone to dance. i think the main point of dancing is to attract the opposite sex, again, not exactly gurmat, right? if you're dancing around your living room alone... go for it. i think that's probably ok. What I meant was that only a person who has no desire to rule is a true ruler.If a non-sikh is able to achieve this avastha, then he also qualifies as a true ruler. As a sikh for me, only punj pyara of type of 1699 are true rulers and I will only want to be a part of their army and not serve in any other army to earn my daily bread. This is my personal opinion. But we need to understand that such people are just government agents, they are not interested in knowing the facts, their sole purpose is to confuse the sikhs, divide the panth. I also wish to adopt a child if i get married in this life and I wish to adopt a girl child as I feel in places like India the girl orphans go through lots of exploitation. I recently did darshan of young baby orphan girl who is just 4 years old and wears a dastaar. She had Sri Japji Sahib kanthh. I felt like CRYING seeing her. I'm sorry to the poster who was mixed up about methadone, I just get a lot of grief from the same mother who loves Sikhism about it. I'm in a semi blissful state , it's those around me that feel the need to resort to dragging others down that really just makes me cry.
