Hmm... i realised a month or two ago, that the drugs culture amongst Punjabis and Sikhs is not as unpopular as i thought it was here. And i realised that after experiencing something at a Gurdwara, of all places. The thing is though, the drug culture here seems to be covered up well. It exists underground, rather than on ground. I remember when i visited Canada a little while back, that i was walking down a very popular asian territory in Surrey, ... and I saw some Punjabis with nok paggs and trimmed turbans, wearing more gold than Mr. T doing some dodgy dealings in cars which were blasting some bhangra tracks. There were blatently exchanges going on. It reminded me of scenes I had only really seen in black movies like Boyz N The Hood or something. I had never even seen this on Soho Rd and i have been there so many times where theres loads of Punjabis. But as i said... the "gang" culture doesnt seem to exist as much in the UK... but the drug culture certainly does. Bhul chuk maaf

True say. Akal Takht should show they are the voice of Sikhs accross the world especially when it comes to such political levels. But, the way things are here in the UK, whether that voice is listened to or not, is a different matter.

i do agree with Balait but i also feel that we r blinded with a blindfold which is manufactured by the media. Under the sheets (xcuse the pun) i reckon its more of a story than just "hi, prince charles will be coming to visit Harimandir Sahib on this date. See u then." I think a lot of background planning goes on behind this and maybe the commitee just compromised too much. I mean at the end of the day, we have langar for example, where everyone sits on the same level before seeing Guru Jee... to show no one is more important or higher than the other and everyone is equal. We shouldnt give into royalty.

wkd phaldip singh jee! and to he who asks what the Prince has done to deserve Guru Jee's siropa... go read his biographies and journals on him n u will see the good his charities have done around the world and how much he has travelled to visit and bring hope to the areas where people are suffering... starving.. dying. Gurdwaras nowadays just give siropas to any old person who donates a tenner to their "building fund"... attack them first. I find him a bit snobby and also annoying personally. I am not saying Prince Charles is perfect. Maybe he has not really done a lot for Sikhi. But hes done his bit (more than most of the worlds population) for humanity... bhul chuk maaf

"a muslim story about Guru Tegh Bahadur"... i can understand where they get that with the emporer etc but they should be more careful how they put things. Yeh it annoys me too. Sometimes ure there for ages just listening to the ardaas where they go on about who donated what for about 5 minutes! not a complaint, but its just annoying. But i can see where the Gurdwaras are coming from. Look, we have some very successful and beautiful Gurdwaras here in the UK and they need an organisation behind it running it which is where the comitees come in. And they have been doing quite well raising the cash for all these many years so what they are doing is proven to work. I think if they stopped giving into peoples ego's, they would lose out on a lot of maya. On the other hand, it states that the comitees dont seem to have faith in Maharaj because He, inevitably, is the Provider and the Giver. And although (most) commitees know how to raise the maya... they sure dont know how to spend it properly! bhul chuk maaf

its basically on external threats... what kind of things are threatening Sikhs living in the UK. One example would be extremist attitudes regarding conversions from other religions. Cant say more than that on that subject. Turn up to find out. Not to be missed for real.
