Greetings and Salutations, Akal Sahai Ji, To my limited knowledge, I know of no reason why a black pugh should not be tied, however I can understand why certain people may say this, I believe there is a line in the "zafarnamah" where Satguru Gobind Singh Ji states to the mughal king how his(mughal) army clad in black rushed on the Gurus army like flies. greetings and salutations when i get my pugh material it is about 60 cms wide and about 6 metres ish long, so to tie a decent pugh without it being too big one has to cut it in half the long way. i.e. reduce the width to 30 cms in my case. also as discussed above, the thinner width gives good control and shape to the pugh and on a brighter note if u cut the pugh material in half ... you now have two pughs ! regards Dilrubarb

If you look at the tasveera of our satgurus one can notice that their dastars are tied across their foreheads, albeit one can not use this theory as solid evidence as only those lucky to have had darshan of our satgurus truly know of their appearance. Even though in your opinion they treat him like a god, it is not warrantable to write down god, because when you write down god you cant say you mean leader, because if you did mean leader, you would type in leader.
