  1. lol, is your anti-west rant finally over?
  2. yeah i'm not going to hold my breath. growing up in britain taught me one thing at least - never trust a politician.
  3. i find it really annoying when a sikh gets somewhere in life others try to shoot him down. are any of us truly perfect? i'll admit i dont know an awful lot about who oprah has on her shows, but this would be a lot worse if he had converted to christianity/islam and then gone on the show. that would have shown to people that kids who practice sikhi end up leaving it, like some converts brag about in uni lectures. did this guy actually say anything anti-sikh or promote another religion?
  4. i thought it was the Shiwalik hills, but you seem to know a lot more than me about sikh history in that time period. just out of interest, what sources did you use to get knowledge about sikh history apart from the SGGS and dasam granth?
  5. The real Greater Punjab. East Punjab is just a ghetto (for the time being). Btw i wont give myself a point for answering the question on the question
  6. lol, its a really interesting period but there isnt much literature out there about it, especially from a sikh viewpoint. ok , next question, who can name the first area of the punjab that banda singh bahadur took control of?
  7. puhla look like he got what he deserved. lying on that slab with his burnt stomach and body was justice for those he hurt.
  8. aaaaaaah your a stalker!!! lol, just messing. but i tried to give you 5 stars as well, but it says your average is 4 stars...?!

  9. When an english person asks about getting an english copy of the SGGS, i usually just redirect them to the following site: http://gurmatps.org/ggs_english/0001.html If you want to jump straight to a certain ang (and you know the page number) just replace the '0001' in the link with '0480' or whatever. Oh and the link looks a lot better (and clearer) in Safari rather than IE or Firefox :D
  10. MOD EDIT: HSD Consider this a pre-warning, your comment was clearly carrying on from a previous discussion which bears no relevence to this topic.
  11. That website is over 10 years old. lol, really? i didnt notice, i just thought it was a crappy attempt by the hindustanis at slandering the freedom fighters.
  12. I wouldnt recommend that book to anyone under-18. Actually the same goes for the diary of anne frank. but yeah, Flashman and the Mountain of Light was pretty interesting and melancholy as the khalsa raj sounded like a great place, until it was invaded.
  13. the battle was chillianwalla (no one got it? ( lol look it up). anyway, the flower story is what i heard and what some teacher told me when i was a kid. btw i didnt literally mean his body turned to flowers, just that those who wanted to bury/cremate his body only found flowers under a sheet.
  14. http://www.punjabtrauma.org/ now those hindustani dogs are trying to muddy the waters.
  15. lol, yeah in britain the racists think they are so intelligent. but that phrase 'british sikh' is the best way to get them p**ed off.
  16. right i'll presume i'm right ( :D ). now tell me, in which battle during the anglo-sikh wars did the sikh army capture 6 regimental colours from their decimated enemy? (who ran off when it rained  :1singh1: )
  17. wow asengh you took the words right out of my mouth, and got here a few hours before i did! anyway yeah try to laugh more, watch comedy, develop your hobbies, go out and see the world, dont idle or think about your situation too much. it starts with small steps, but as soon as you start moving forwards you'll look back at how you were and wonder why you acted like such a gimp.
  18. he worked in a langar hall before he died. after his death his body turned to flowers to prevent the muslims and hindus fighting (again!) over it.
  19. right, ok. but how did the sgpc get back in? are they the same sgpc that existed before 1986?
  20. neither did i. i'm 20 but this was only 23 years ago, and its the first i've heard of it. most sikhs i know say the sgpc has been around since independence in the akhal takht.
