  1. Bro it will depend upon the type of dastaar you wearing and your hand. Rubia is good to tie 5 lar pag, but it is heavy not easy to tie. Full voil is lighter but you have to know how to put lars on as it does not hold as good as rubia. Generally full voil goes better with six lar pug. Theres also lighter version of voil i.e half voil and is little heavy than chunni and is good only if you want to tie 7 or more lar. I use full voil for five lar pug which is lighter and easy to handle. Full voil looks better than rubia.
  2. ^ There needs to be more focus on "Sikhi" and not "punjabi" or "Jatt" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJExIkbtt1E
  3. Theres reception at Gobind Ghat the last time i went. Will let you know exact situation now 2morrow.
  4. How can one presume to know the horror? A city agitating against an oppressive Rowlatt Act, deprived of water and electricity for days. 20,000 citizens, an eighth of the entire population of the town, gather in protest at Jallianwala Bagh. "The term Bagh is a misnomer," says the Congress Report of 1919. "It is a wasteland...an irregular quadrangle...enclosed by the back walls of the houses surrounding it. The main entrance is a narrow passage...there are no other regular entrances. The ground at the entrance is at an elevation, remarkably fit for posting soldiers and firing into a crowd in front. When, therefore, General Dyer marched into the Bagh with his 90 soldiers, the crowd had no easy exit." Dyer's rifles pumped 1,650 rounds into the unarmed gathering, directing the fire upon places where the crowd was thickest because the general had made up his mind "to punish them for having assembled". He stopped firing only when the ammunition ran out. "If I fired a little, I should be wrong in firing at all." Ten minutes, six hundred seconds, 1,650 bullets, a thousand dead. If the number was a thousandand not more, the fault was not his. On that day, Jallianwala Bagh became inseparably coupled with the term massacre. Reaction by Gandhi.... When Mahatma Gandhi visited Jallianwala Bagh a few months later, he found it wanting in visual aesthetics. "It is not a garden but a rubbish dump...people throw refuse into it from their rear windows. There flowed in this Bagh a river of blood, the blood of innocent people. Because of this the place has become sanctified." He felt the need for "a memorial column which, without expressing ill will to anyone, will remind us of the sacrifices, through death, of the innocent...and thus convert the heap of refuse which today goes under the name of a garden into a garden indeed,...fully worthy of India." On Dyer. "I do not wish ill to Gen. Dyer in anyway... I have not the least desire to see him punished, were he to fall ill, I would nurse him with love. But I certainly would not have share in his sin." —Mahatma Gandhi One read is enough to know that he was mentally sick. ------------------ A great effort is made by his sycophants to show the leader in Gandhi and his leadership qualities, the larger than life man who could inspire millions with a single word. Read his observations about his own self again "I do not know within the whole of my public experience a single occasion where my presence has had anything but a soothing effect on the elements of disturbance." —Mahatma Gandhi, April15, 1919 "On that bazaar day, a strong group of volunteers marched purposefully towards the Mundera bazaar with the dual motiveof challenging (en route) the authority of the police, and then picketing thefish, meat, and liquor shops in the market. The latter motive being their peculiar, arguably relevant, local extrapolation of the Gandhian ideal. The provocative confrontation turned violent; the small clutch of policemen fired at the surging picketers and withdrew into the thana; the nationalists locked them up inside, poured oil on the building, and lit it to the victory cry of "Long Live Mahatma Gandhi." The police post was gutted, and the 23 policemen inside were burnt to death." The satya-grahis had turned violent; the first nationalist "riot" had taken place. The district Congress leaders hastily disbanded the volunteer groups, and a shaken Mahatma Gandhi called off the Civil Disobedience Movement. (The term Satya Grahi was coined by Gandhi himself and he trained them extensivley in his ashrams to carry out his mission of non-violence.) Prior to his arrival in Chauri-Chaura local people weaved miracles that would occur with the arrival of modern avtara of Vishnu.Read below. How can one quantify the influence of a Mahatma in the lives of humble folk? After a cross-country tour to launch his non-cooperation movement, came Gandhiji to be omnipresent in peasant India. In Chauri Chaura, elders recall that his visit in 1921 was heralded by celestial apparitions...the village folk believed that shrubs would shoot up into trees upon his arrival. The quest for Swaraj had charged nationalist volunteers to be little the capacity of district jails, and the numerical strength of these swayam sevaks in a particular locality came to be regarded as a measure of its nationalist spirit. (those unfamiliar with Indian Independance movement might not know much about chauri chaura incident. u can google for more information.) ------------------ His (Gandhis') cottage is preserved unchanged, beautiful as it was. The few chosen by him ascompanions in religious community living do not live here anymore. A library documents the man. But there were other men and women with lives less remarkable who did shed blood. They had simple homes too, which were not preserved but pillaged. They were not leaders, they were the led. Pitchforked by the decisions of greater men, they shared trauma, not companionship. Their individual histories are dead ends, too insignificant to be documented; they are remembered only in their numbers, as a suffering mass in the collective upheaval that marked the making of two nations. When Freedom came, they didn't recognise it. What kind of shaft would the nation wish to make for them? http://www.outlookin...cle.aspx?204084
  5. I am flustered by your behaviour and it is making me think again of the theory that reservation for low castes is because they have half of intelligence than a normal human being. Amazing. Meanwhile read the verses by Bhagat Ravidasji. What catagory do put him in? "The company I keep is wretched and low, and I am anxious day and night; my actions are crooked, and I am of lowly birth". And was he hallucinating in this one below? "Baygumpura, 'the city without sorrow', is the name of the town". (is it a ghost town)? Is he clueless? Gauree Poorbee, Ravi Daas Jee: One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: The frog in the deep well knows nothing of its own country or other lands; just so, my mind, infatuated with corruption, understands nothing aboutthis world or the next. ||1|| O Lord of all worlds: reveal to me, even for an instant, the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause|| My intellect is polluted; I cannot understand Your state, O Lord. Take pity on me, dispel my doubts, and teach me true wisdom Even the great Yogis cannot describe Your Glorious Virtues; they are beyond words. I am dedicated to Your loving devotional worship, says Ravi Daas the tanner. ||3||1|| Does he needs to see a doctor? I have tried many methods, but by turning it away, the noose of doubt is not turned away. Love and devotion have not welled up within me, and so Ravi Daas is sad and depressed. ||8||1|| Who is the guru here? O servant Ravi Daas, dispel your sorrow and doubt, and know that Guru given spiritual wisdom is the penance of penances Who is begging for the feet of Saints? Your Saints are Your body, and their company is Your breath of life. By the True Guru-given spiritual wisdom, I know the Saints as the gods of gods. ||1|| Grant me the Society of the Saints, the sublime essence of the Saints' conversation, and the Love of the Saints, O Lord, God of gods. ||1||Pause|| The Character of the Saints, the lifestyle of the Saints, and the service of the servant of the Saints. ||2|| I ask for these, and for one thing more - devotional worship, which shall fulfill my desires. Do not show me the wicked sinners. ||3|| Says Ravi Daas, he alone is wise, who knows this: there is no difference between the Saints and the Infinite Lord.||4||2|| Is he talking about Sant Ramanand of Balan Dera in the above verse? can you tell me the time when Bhagat Ravidas falls at Sant Ramanand of Balan Deras feet and when as i want to come and be a witness. Which honey is the bee talking about in the below verse? Hallucination again? Is the honey Sant Ramanand of Balan Dera and Bhagat Ravidas the bee? I am worthless, and You are so benevolent. ||1||Pause|| You are the white and yellow threads of silk, and Iam like a poor worm. O Lord, I seek to live in the Company of the Saints, like the bee with its honey. ||2|| My social status is low, my ancestry is low, and my birth is low as well. I have not performed the service of the Lord, the Lord, says Ravi Daas the cobbler. Who is the Guru who showed him lords love here? and where is he nowdays? Servant Ravi Daas is imbued with the Lord's Love. By Guru's Grace, he shall not have to go to hell. By Guru's Grace, I attain the immaculate Lord. I cannot worship You, nor offer You flowers. Says Ravi Daas, what shall my condition be hereafter? Sadly he doesnt even bother to mention fellow chamaars. How sad your own Guru didnt even acknowledge your presence in this world? Did he want to appeal to 'Higher Castes' and wary of offending them so didnt mention you? How are you going to escape Sikhism even if you take out his bani from SGGS? You will still end up following the curse of Sikhism (as you perceive it). Unless ofcourse you can come up with something original and unique.
  6. Read my earlier post having no knowledge about Sikhi and its doctrine. Your arguments just show your level of education about Sikh relgiion. How stupid can anyone get? Admin a few days ago a member was banned for uttering rubbish about Akal Takht Sahib, why is this guy who is doing baseless nindya of Guruji still a member?
  7. Bhagats Bani was not added out of respect as you seem to think so. This shows your level of understanding of Sikh religion and it's doctrines. How Bhagat Bani got in SGGS is not exactly known, Guru Nanak having collected it just an assumption drawn from his wide travels. How the Bani of Bhagats is in Gurmukhi in sggs when most of them had nothing to do with Punjabi is also mystery for which every historian has his own theory. The exact life details of Bhagats esp. Ravidas and Kabir are really not known and depend upon traditional stories. One such story is how the souls of Bhagats came and requested Guru Arjan to include their work in SGGS when he started compiling SGGS, and the party was lead by Kabir not Ravidas. As for Kabir panthis, their granth is very different from SGGS. There is a wide range of differences between Bijak's content and those of SGGS in vocabulary, spellings, language, overall message etc. Similar and exact are two different things. SGGS is not a cut and paste job as you think so. That is why cuting and pasting of Bhagat Bani cannot be allowed from SGGS. Can i ask you a question You quote Kabirpanthis. They have their own Granth which is not similar to SGGS in any way. Why don't you follow them a produce a granth of Bhagat Ravidas and then compare with SGGS? Why the cut and paste job? Didn't Bhagat ravidas leave any Granth behind? Why don't you provide the origins of the manuscripts you are talking about and present their contents here.
  8. You are forgetting you are on a Sikh forum and casting doubt on Guru Nanak is mischief that cannot be forgiven. As for your claims on ownership of Bani can you provide where does the bani of Bhagats of Guru Granth Sahib exists elsewhere? All Bani in SGGS, regardless the author, is ONE NIRANKAR GODS BANI and anybody taking it out from SGGS is asking for *. Sikhs cannot allow any Dera to take Bani out of SGGS, Bani of Bhagat Ravidas in Guru Granth Sahib never existed elsewhere so obviously the ownership rests with Sikhs as a whole. You cannot take Bani of Sikhs and form another religious book on base of it. If Bhagats Bani in SGGS existed as a Granth during his lifetime and he had a faithful following centered around it, then you are welcome to go ahead. But the Bani of all Bhagats in SGGS is found in SGGS only, and how it got in SGGS is known to Gurus and Bhagats, who chose to remain their Bani in SGGS only. As you type, one of your sant associated with Dera has rejected the move to take Bani from Guru Granth Sahib and forming a granth. All Bani of SGGS is not found elsewhere. Everything originates from SGGS. All writings outside SGGS are regarded by Sikhs as 'kachi bani' and Sikhs dont care what is done with it. You are on Sikh forum and are talking about our living father. So behave yourself.
  9. How can Dera condemn when the acts of violence are being done by the dera itself? Number of Ravidasi places of worship had sought police protection as Dera men had made threatening calls to remove Guru Granth Sahib. The major people arrested include memebrs of Punjab BSP. Dera has no right to take bani of Bhagat Ravidas from Guru Granth Sahib as the Granth is the only main source of Bani included in it. If they want to establish seperate faith they should get Bani of Bhagat Ravidas from somewhere else. Why don't they try getting it from Bhagat Ravidas via their Guru? They have no right to take bani from Guru Granth Sahib on the pretext that its author was Chamaar. That is direct attack on Sikhi. If you dont want to follow rehat of Sikhs then how can you take their Bani and form another faith from it? Get your own Bani not from Guru Granth Sahib.
  10. Rubbish! They are capable of building seperate gurdwaras where they cannot be discriminated. No discrimination happens at any Historical Gurdwara connected to Gurus and under SGPC control. their designs are sinister in nature and politically motivated. only a handful followers of dera are involved which has no real mass following. meanwhile... 10 Ravidassi leaders held Dharmendra Joshi Tribune News Service Jalandhar, February 6 Amid reports of placing shortly at some religious places, the holy book "Amritbani Satguru Ravidass Maharajji" of the newly declared religion "Ravidass Dharam" by Dera Sachkhand Ballan a few days back, the district police arrested 10 leaders belonging to the Ravidass community from their houses in the wee hours today. Confirming the arrests, DC Ajit Singh Pannu told The Tribune that the suspected persons had been taken into custody as they were planning to remove Guru Granth Sahib forcibly from some religious places due to which the feelings of a community could have been hurt. In reply to a question, he said more persons planning to do the same would be arrested soon. He asked this correspondent to contact SSP RK Jaiswal for further details, but the latter could not be contacted despite repeated attempts. Most of the arrested persons belong to the BSP and Ambedkar Sena (Mool Niwasi). All these persons were taken to Sadar police station after taking them into custody from their respective houses located in different parts of the district. However, later some persons were released whereas three are still in police custody. According to police sources, the three persons including Ambedkar Sena (Mool Niwasi) state president Harbhajan Suman, its activist Brajesh Kumar Gauri and a local BSP leader Sukhwinder Tony have been booked under Sections 153 A, 295, 295 A and 120 B of IPC. The police sources further said the places of several other Ravidassis allegedly instigating their community members were also being raided to arrest them. One of the released persons, Sukhwinder Kotli, state general secretary of the BSP and sarpnach of Kotli Than Singh, told The Tribune a police party including Sadar SHO raided his house at around 4 am. They were asked to accompany them on the pretext of their meeting with some senior police officials. Later he and some other persons including Dharampal Lesriwal were released after other BSP leaders met the DC and the SSP in this regard. Criticising the Parkash Singh Badal-led SAD-BJP government for harassing Ravidass community members, Kotli said they would soon react according to the future course of action being decided by BSP state president and Rajya Sabha member Avtar Singh Karimpuri.
  11. Okay. Akal Purakh whose power is present in Parvati, Vishnu and Lakshmi. 'Whose power' - ? is it durga? http://sikh-reality....-very-rare.html in the audio at 1.29 Babaji says hindus worship shakti durga by making idols but we Sikhs have durga present in form of Kirpan. What i make out is chandi is power of God or God is manifesting in form of chandi. Therefore chandi which is durga being power of god is god himself.
  12. Dude all i asked you is how to serve devi and meditate on her and you bring Dasam Sahib in it. Why don't you explain it properly and help me instead of putting two lines that can cause confusion in any mind. Are you saying Devi Akal Purakh or Akal Purakh in Devi? Is Devi power of Akal Purakh? or Akal Purakh?
  13. is adi sakti both male and female? http://books.google....0shakti&f=false Can you go through the link and explain how it is not Hindu. The book might be perfect or the wirter but the idea is perfectly clear about devi. How can i serve devi and meditate on her?
  14. lol anything anti sikh is always promoted in the name of 'puratan' and 'being sgpc'. There is sakhi about Guru Nanak cookin deer in kurukshetra, so we have historical proof and lets cook deer for dinner. Guru Hargobind Sahib were freinds with an extrememly Alcholic, womaniser, druggie who dies of excess of alcohol -Jahangir. Lets be-friend nearest drug peddler as we have historical proof. IMO it was Singh Sabha who liberated our Gurdwaras, if it was for these fake sadh/babe of today we would still be witnessing Dances by prostitutes at Nankana sahib. Anything is promoted in the name of Gurus. How many men did Guru Gobind Singh kill? so what are we gonna do next on basis of this historical proof?
  15. Sikhs are not Hindus. Enjoy as much garlic you want and anyone who has high blood pressure should eat raw garlic in the morning with a glass of water. Also by avoiding kaam Hindus have managed to produce 100 million babies!! Maybe someone else is doing the job. With Hindu mythology anything can happen.
  16. which history records are you talking about? How many Hindus are on this forum?
  17. lol thanks guys. appreciate ur help.

  19. Jassa veer do you know that JATTS are NOT a high caste. They are just influential because they became powerful after fall of Mughals and due to converting to Sikhi in large numbers during Misl period they became masters of Punjab. Outside Punjab Jatts are not at top of Society where Thakurs and Ranas are traditional high castes. A long time back there was move to classify Jatts as OBC (other backward classes) by Union Govt but they didnt do it. SO EVERYONE STOP TAKING OUT YOUR FRUSTRATION ON JATTS ON ONE PRETEXT OR THE OTHER. The lines quoted by Jassa prove nothing. Jatts are not Kashtriyas (Khatri in Punjabi). And Shudras are not Chammar but 'Valmikis' . Shudras were at the lowest catagory of society in Ancient India who sweeped and cleaned streets and houses. They did cleaning Garbage jobs which is still done by Valmikis in cities and CHURE in villages. Chure are closest to Shuder and next Valmikis. Ravidasi fall under 'Vaishya' caste which did jobs connected with tools i.e making shoes from leather. Use of word Chura is banned in India and you can get imprisoned for six months. So if anyones is to rule Delhi it will be Valmikis and i dont see it happening in any time in near future as most Valmikis are members of Bajrang Dal, a militant wing of RSS and are still under Hindu fold. Ravidasi are Chamaar. They are a low caste but not the lowest. A true Ravidasi is always a Sikh of Guru Granth Sahib. Period. And if anyone is to rule it is 'Khalsa' which comprises all or no castes.
  20. once a bhaiya is going on a bus. on being asked by driver where he wants to go, he replies Muktsar. driver slaps him hard and says 'say Sri Muktsar Sahib'. next time bhaiya is going to patiala and on being asked by driver as to where wants to go he says 'Sri Patiala Sahib'. driver slaps him hard and says 'othe tere piyo ne kurbani ditti see'?
  21. Banda Bahadur was the great Singh of Guru Gobind Singh. Most of his biography was written by persons biased against him therefore show him in poor light. Baba Binod Singh and many Sikhs who left banda got employment form Mughals and Jagirs and horses. He was not popular becuase he was with a cold heart and lonesome. And Bandai Khalsa formed after his death therefore not Bandas deed. His deeds were great therefore he may have grown haughty, but he still was the greatest Sikh. Even Bhai Mani Singh did beadbi of Gurbani by shredding it. Nobody is spotless only the guru is true.
