  1. Read or listen to Sri Anand Sahib Full 40 paurian 3 times. Then come back and tell us if you still want to die.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFromStokeuk This music is very soothing & relaxing. It can be immensley helpful in preparing the the mind for Meditation (Naam Simran). I hope you will enjoy.
  3. Thank you ever so much for the upload , greatly appreciated. This is mahan seva , thank you.
  4. Mahan seva Khalsa jio , Thank you ever so much.
  5. A lot of people in India wear a turban and beard but that does not necessarily make them a sardar or sikh. Most of these people as per your photo are usually Biharis or bheya from U.P. It's a shame that he's smoking but I wouldn't call him a sardar. He's a turban and beard wearing man.
  6. Whenever you have a bad day just tune into a one of the medical channels on tv. Some of these programs show people with horiffic illnesses and conditions. It always make me appreciate what I have rather than what I haven't.
  7. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. I was chatting to some younger members of the sikh community (non-Amritdhari) who wish to see more documentaries & katha in English. They feel that a Sikh channel should be informative to the English community too. Most of these youngsters feel more at ease with English. I feel that they have a valid point since there are many talented Gursikhs who are fluent in English & Punjabi. They feel that the current Sikh channel is concentrating on a very small minority since there are millions of Sky viewers in UK & continental Europe. Thank you.
  8. Darshan Singh Ji, You might want to use the following link. It can be very useful for learning Punjabi. http://www.rajkaregakhalsa.net/presentations.htm Thanks.
  9. Great wording Phen Ji. There is also a punjabi saying: "Bani Kant , Paisa Ghant". (Just as cash in hand is more useful than money in banks etc.. , so Gurbani is more readily available when memorised). When Gurbani is memorised one can recite it even when it is not practical to sit down with a Pothi Sahib.
  10. Some of the wording may be: Tusi panth de bhavik ho (you are the future of the panth).
  11. Phen Ji Thank yoo so much for your post. I watched a tv programme in India where children in Mata Kaula Academy are encouraged to memorise Gurbani. Upon completion these children are then brought onto the stage and the stage secretary/teacher tells the sanagt that this child has memorised Sri Jap Ji Sahib,Sri Sukhmani Sahib,Sri Aasa di vaar etc....... How about presenting them with certificates on stage? Anything that will make them feel that they have achieved something special and to keep the interest alive. How about a web page or blog with their photos on it etc?
  12. Thank you Khalsa Ji for the information.
  13. Thanks for your post phenji. I have always found interesting the aspect of Gursikhi where Gurbani has changed the karam of a person. There are various accounts from many Gursikhs & if they were to post their personal experiences here I feel that would be an interesting point. Thank you.
  14. If guru ji comes to us in the human form how will we recognise them?
  15. Let's run things the way Guru Ji instructs us: ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ भाई रे दासनि दासा होइ ॥ Bẖā▫ī re ḏāsan ḏāsā ho▫e. O Siblings of Destiny, be the slaves of the Lord's slaves. Let's become dassan de dass (servant of the servants) rather than fighting/arguing.
  16. Khalsa Avenue Gravesend Kent. Permanent parkash of Guru Maharajh will take place on Sri Guru Nanak Ji's gurpurb in November (statement by President Jaspal Singh Dhesi). Things are running a little late owing to financial restraints. (Currently £11 million).
  17. Benti to all the sangat. Let's all do Sri Sukhmani Sahib for departed soul. If any one cannot read paath then listen to a cd or from someone else. It only takes an hour. Let's do it on the basis that we have lost a close family member. Thank you.
  18. I used a piece of hardware called "Dazzle" to convert vhs to computer. This (at the time) was only compatible with windows xp (not vista or 7). The whole kit cost £100.00 a few years ago. I did a google search recently and there are numerous inexpensive gadgets available to do the transfer. It will be a matter of trial and error before stubling on the right one. ebay.co.uk has many listings (fairly cheap) for the hardware. Thoroughly check that you have the system requirements before purchasing. By the way I wouldn't recommend dazzle since a graphic download ruined my monitor view. (I had to restore my pc to original condition). Read the google reviews about the products too. guardian.co.uk (gadgets) have hardware too.
