  2. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. I was talking to a prominent Gursikh a while back. He said that any Gursikh who starts the day with Panj Bania da paath will have all the world's luck fall at their feet. Sri Guru Granth Sahib says that when one meditates on Wheguru's naam,Waheguru Ji takes care of all their needs.

The True Guru cuts away the bonds of His Sikh. ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਟੈ ॥ गुर का सिखु बिकार ते हाटै ॥ Gur kā sikẖ bikār ṯe hātai. The Sikh of the Guru abstains from evil deeds. When one abstains from evil doings (through reading & reflecting on Gurbani),Guru Ji cuts our bandan (gives liberation).
  5. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. It is my understanding that the taking of an innocent life is wrong, whether that be the life of a goat, man, woman,or child. Aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath sagal punn jī▫a ḏa▫i▫ā parvān. Be kind to all beings-this is more meritorious than bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage and the giving of charity. (SGGS Page 136) Where's the daya in killing innocents? (Men,Women.Children,or Animals?)

  10. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Does anyone know whether the Gurdwara Sahib already had the Sri Dasam Granth or was it brought there specifically? Was the Saroop Larivaar or padh Ched?
  11. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. If the marriage is arranged then did the organisers know about the belief conflict? If the marriage is self chosen , were these differences discussed beforehand? If Gursikhi is adopted after marriage then a compromise can be sought.[/font]
  12. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. There are some accounts of Gur Ithihas(history) in Sri Gurpratap Suraj Granth which do not correlate to the Sidanth(core message) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The deviation of these points is not due to kavee Ji's short comings but is rather due to the fact that his publishers were of Hindu background and as such a few adulterations came into being. Upon reading the whole Granth it can be clearly seen that kavee Ji has the utmost sharda in all of the Guru Sahiban. Upon reading the Brahm Gyan chapters it is extremely clear that kavee Ji's avastha (spirituality) was very high and these controversial points could not have been the thoughts of kavee Ji himself. Please note that I am not against any Keshdhari person. Whenever I see a Keshdari person my heart fills with joy to see someone who is on the path of Guru Ji's Sikhi. I have personally benefitted a great deal by adopting Guru Ji's teachings and as such I would love to see a better quality of life for everybody else too. If my remarks have offended anybody then I hereby apologise profusely. I have just attempted to share what I believe can bring about Kalyaan(liberation) in life. Mokham Singh. 15. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. There are many websites dedicated to Sri Dassam Granth. The following may be of some useful guidance. www.patshahi10.org Please also note that in order to get a fuller picture of the role of SDG in Gursikhi it is appropriate to listen to the complete katha of SGGS by prominent Gursikhs such as Gyani Takhur Singh Patiala and Gyani Avtar Singh Badni. This can be found on several sites but in particular: www.gurbaniupdesh.org WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH.
  16. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji said that a Sikh With Kesh but who has not taken pauhal(Amrit) is an imposter and a paapi(sinner). This is written in Sri Gurpratap suraj Granth by Kavee Santokh Singh. There is a chapter under the heading of "Kesh". Most Gurdwara Sahibs will have this granth , and as such , can be viewed by any member of the sangat. Please note that this Granth uses Brijj bhasha(Languauge) but the words are written in Gurmukhi. Brijj bhasha is quite difficult to uderstand without taking santhyaa(lessons) but fortunately Dr.Ajit Singh Aulakh has done all the hard work for us by completing a line by line simple Punjabi translation. Dr.Aulakh has completed the entire Granth in eleven volumes. The said quote can be found in volume 10. Many book shops in India do supply this Granth but in particular the Publishers Chattar Singh Jeevan singh in Amritsar are the largest. I can also scan and attach the relevant page to this thread but I am not aware of how to attach a scanned file. I would humbly beg my brothers and sisters to refrain from cutting their hair but at the same time I would humbly request them to take Pauhal(Amrit). Mokham Singh. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH.
  17. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Use Glo White. Add it to your washing powder. Also try washing them at 95 Degrees (hot wash).
  18. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Just one more thought: Without meditation upon waheguru Ji , both concepts are meaningless in SGGS philosophy. Without meditation what purpose does long hair servre? Without meditation what purpose does a shaved head serve? Without meditation both will leave the world empty handed. Please also note that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji says that "A person who keeps unshorn hair without taking Pauhal(Amrit) is an imposter and as such will not receive darshan". Regards.
  19. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Read the biographies of all the great prominent Gursikhs. They all became mahaan(great) after immense naam meditation. 20. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. The weather in March in Punjab is ideal. The sun will be out with a windy breeze. Fans aren't usually required during the beginning of March. The best thing is that there won't be any mosquitoes. It can rain in March but that is something unpredictable but even so the temperature will be very comfortable. Regards.
  21. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. Bhagat Kabeer Ji also says in his Bani that "why shave your head when it is the mind that needs shaving". With regards to your quotation from Kabeer Ji's Bani , my understanding is that Bhagat Ji is saying that a person cuts their hair according to the will of their mind and as such does not follow the voice of their aatma(soul). Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji states in Sri Gur Pratap Suraj Granth that a Sikh must maintain unshorn Kesh. Guru Ji also informs us that once upon a time all religions observed kesh but after punishments the kesh were cut and hence became a trend. The tract in the above Granth is fairly lengthy , I will attempt to post a full detailed description here. I will also mention here that when one reads Gurbani regularly and scrutinises the teachings , then one will not want to cut their hair and partake in narcotics and taking of lives etc. Please also see the complete katha of SGGS :www.gurbaniupdesh.org R
  22. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. It is my understanding that the Siddhs were actually engaged in the pursuit of Riddh Siddh (super natural powers) rather than the naam japp of Waheguru Ji , and as such they had no control over their vices(kaam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankaar). Guru Nanak Ji showed them the benefits of naam simram since riddh siddh is only a temporary pleasure and cannot give anand. Kirt and wand shakana are also important in Gursikhi but kirt and wand shakana cannot give kalyaan. They can only propagate society. It is naam jappana that has to adhered to attain kalyaan. There is a story where Guru Ji visited a town where all the graves showed an age upto six years. Bhai Mardhana Ji asked why the village graves only had children? Guru Ji explained that the age on the graves was not their physical age but the accumulated time they had spent doing naam simran.

WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. I was reading Sri Gur pratap suraj Granth (history of all the ten patshahian). In one passage Sikhs brought an ill man to see Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Sikhs stated that the man has been possessed by an evil spirit. Guru Ji told the man to recite Sri Japji Sahib everyday and also to memorise it. Guru Ji said that the power of Japji Sahib removes all evil of this nature. Ideally one should follow all the commands of Guru Ji but if one cannot do this for some reason then at least do Japji Sahib. There are many other references from all the Guru Sahiban and SGGS. The above is just one example. Regards.
  25. WAHEGURUJIKAKHALSAWAHEGURUJIKEFATEH. I would like to share some audio Gurbani with others via the net. I do not know how to do this. Can anyone please help? Your help will be much appreciated. Regards.
