  1. @ukLondonsikh dont sorry, its my own karm that dont allow me to do it. As i said if Waheguru want me to do it, then it Will happen, if not then there is only so much i can do and accept that is all that they want me to do.
  2. Thank you ji @ukLondonsikh, the sad thing i dont get to do seva as much as i would like because of my health. After 2yrs of not being able to do it due to bad health was able to do a bit. A mahapursh told me to do seva, but unfortunately am unable to because of health. I have seen a lot of people not being able to do seva for whom even once would be a dream come true whether they are moneh or amritdhari. I fully understand what onlyfive is saying but its not all about those that can do seva when they want. Its about treasuring and respecting the seva too as for some it means a lot. But the most important thing is its in Waheguru's hands of who they want to do seva. They are the one that make it happen.
  3. @onlyfive, yes there are rules that have to be obeyed by and when i or somebody goes to the gurdwara those rules should be adhered to. It doesn't matter if the person is amritdhari or mona or black white or brown. And the gurdwara is for welcome to everybody. The same rules apply to amritdharis too, if the rules are not followed. If anybody does not follow the rules regardless of what they are, and does not respect maharaj ji would be fools including myself. If moneh do not know Wat to do the onus is upon them to ask. I am not talking about you onlyfive, i am also giving an example that i have also experienced. I agree it is not a battle of mona versus amritdhari, but i am not the one that mentions moneh serving langar is wrong. If langar is served to you by me, having my head covered, serving with clean hands and not talking, would you not accept it then? If somebody does not respect the rules of the gurdwara then it is up to the gurdwara committee to come to a solution to the problem. But you should not class all moneh the same, as amritdharis too can make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. I agree with some of your points but it seems you are classing all moneh as the same which they are not.
  4. I think the punjabi songs that are being released nowadays totally rubbish. They have no meaning, lyrics that dont make sense, also that dont even match the videos to go with them, and its all about drinking and clubbing and girls with hardly any clothes on, guys in expensive cars which normal people cant afford, which is ridiculous. No wonder the youngsters want to go clubbing and want to have the latest fashion designer clothes. If they spent that money on something else their lives would be so much rewarding and worth living, instead of nothing to show for it at the end of the day. When I was that age I had nothing given to me by my parents, and we were not spoilt, we had to work for what we wanted. Nowadays I feel the parents spoil them too much and let them get away with things. Discipline and respect begins at home and that is where they are going to learn it, and the record companies are stupid to sway them away from their families that they rebel against them, just for the sake of money. If you are going to make a song at least make a decent one or something that when one listens to it, would stand out as a moral and respectable song.
  5. By being the CM he should not be excused for sitting in a chair. i have some disablities but i still sit on the floor in front of Maharaj ji. i also agree unless he has a disability that he can not practically sit on the floor there is no excuse for the chair.
  6. well there are always two sides to a topic. @onlyfive, how can one say what a person is like inside. Nobody can see inside the person, and would either need to be god or a brahmgiani in order to do that. I'm not putting all amritdharis down, before somebody says i've written wrong. I have full respect for amritdharis, but I have also experienced that what you have experienced with moneh people. Because they took amrit did not mean they are nice people from inside. One can only be nice and clean from inside if they practise the rehat maryada after taking amrit and that does not mean just what somebody looks like on the outside. One's heart needs to be pure too. I know some amritdharis that in public were are all show and know it alls, whereas at home, they are very dirty people, no hygiene or cleanliness and as people are nasty. One cannot judge somebody just because they have took amrit. I understand what you are saying, but I dont feel its wrong morally if a mona serves langar or prepares it. To me its all about the cleaniness and hygiene that is used. If somebody is drunk or smoking or not had a shower then I feel it is wrong. I have also seen amritdharis talk over langar. So its not just one sided opnions. And if it is so wrong then why do the gurdwaras let moneh prepare langar and serve langar? Why do gurdwaras let them hold akhand paths? And why do amritdhari sikhs also eat the same langar that the monehs have prepared? And why do they also get served by moneh people? At this week's nagar kirtan, there were amritdharis and moneh doing seva in the langar hall, I being one of them, and also granthis. Who all ate the same food, all worked alongside each other. Then how come I never got thrown out of the kitchen if its so wrong? I also had an amritdhari aunty visit me at the weekend, who not once moaned or hesitated to have her roti be made by me, or be served food, as she knows I'm not going to give her anything that she cannot eat, and she also knows that i will give it to her with care, with clean hands. Monehs are not stupid nor neither children, that if they are going to do seva, obviously they will be very cautious and be apply the utmost hygiene when preparing langar. They know they are not at home, and the ones that u have seen applys to the same group of amritdharis I have seen. Not everybody is the same, just because we see a minority doing something wrong. Although I do understand what you are saying as an amritdhari sikh will have more knowledge of the care and sucham that is required for maharaj ji as they would have apply in their daily lives. But I also know a lot of moneh that are aware of the respect that is required when preparing and serving langar at the gurdwara or whether at home.
  7. It would be gr8 if it could happen today, at least it would deter them. but not daytime gigs nomore, they have night time clubs. i remember going to a one my young days, but back then we went in to see what was going on, and go back home, there was no pakistani boys at the two I went to, unless i didnt notice them or went to the wrong one. nowadays they have alcohol, and drugs, and all sorts and they dont go chori chori nomore, I feel the generation of nowadays is more open and dont hide much. I didnt even know about Shere punjab or saw any of them at the gigs. But I do remember taking some pics myself of people going in, but that was only because I wanted to be a policewoman or detective after I left college lolz, so me and my friend used to practise. And we never got see the photos as in those days the cameras were rubbish. But seriously, wish that would happen today, then it would cut down the grooming and conversions.
  8. If you dont want to marry the Singh then it is wrong. Looking at him is okay, but dont take it further as the Singh will think wrong of you. If you are attracted to a certain Singh, then tell either your family or somebody that knows both families, or friends, then you can take the situation further to meeting him, for marriage. Otherwise noo, dont look at every Singh in a lustful way, its not good for your personality or your mann. @ Innergear, seriously I cant understand you nomore, you just make me laugh, and that puts me off the topic, sort it out, english likni siklaa, kam ayugi, Do you seriously write and talk like this in real life? Or are u still on the nokia phone?
  9. oh and somebody mentioned the menstrual cycle, should women not go at them times to the gurdwara, or just not participate in seva at that time?
  10. I think it is up to the gurdwareh to have the rehat-maryada in place. As for somebody like me it is very confusing as to what seva I am allowed to, or should be doing. I never thought that moneh could not prepare or serve langar, where for years our families have been doing it, and not once has anybody stopped them. I personally dont mind who serves me langar, as long as it is done with sucham, which the same goes for when preparing it for Maharaj ji. I feel that only amritdhari sikhs should read Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, and ardas and bhog of langar should be done by amritdhari sikhs too. Yes u are right @kalyugi paji, that they are humbling jobs, even jorea di seva is a job that is rewarding. But i cant understand why moneh should not be involved in langar seva. I was unaware that our Gurus stated that moneh cannot prepare langar. I have not read all the replies to this topic, but did they state they cannot partake in such seva? I dont think Mat pul rao is trying to cause arguments, i think he is giving examples of that god sees everybody as equal, and anybody can reach god, regardless of religion. I think some people has misinterpreted that wrong, and MAt pul rao, maybe u should have given the example differently rather than mention a religion. but i understand what u are saying. -- oops i'm getting two posts mixed up here, sorry for the confusion, i was reading two topics at the same time. i'm not debating it, im just trying to understand why and why not. I do not know of any learned sikhs, thus the reason for asking here, but will try to find one next time i go to the gurdwara, so i can gain the knowledge, thank you ji.
  11. Why cant moneh help in making langar and do seva? Why is it ok for moneh to sweep up and do all the dirty jobs, but not serve langar?

    Smoking

no dont smoke, dont be naughty boy or girl. NO ELECTRONIC CIGZ EITHER. you are not presently smoking cigarettes, so you should not consider any alternative that mimick cigarettes either. You only want to smoke to relieve the stress, which can be relieved in other ways, such as yoga, breathing exercises, You need to learn to relax. Relaxation, although at the time may seem difficult to achieve is a big key towards achieving this. It causes a changing of the Alpha and Beta brain patterns by using functions that involve concentration, centering and focus. If you are under a lot of pressure, or if you're ill, maybe possibly travelling a lot, or unduly worried about something, you may notice that you are not functioning as you would normally do. Relaxation can help considerably. Take a moment to relax. Stress is most damaging if it is continually on going. Even if you can get only just a few moments of relaxation it can help to alleviate the situation considerably. Don't be afraid to talk to your GP if you experience stress-related symptoms such as: Dizzy spells. Severe headaches. Chronic back or neck pain. Racing pulse. Anxiety. Depression The doc will be able to help you with ur anger problem. dont by embarassed or shy of going to the doctor, they are there to help, and they wont think bad of you whatever your problem, as all information is treated confidential. Also start doing simran, it is very therapeutical. or if u want listen to shabads that will help you to relax. Close your eyes and sit in a quiet place and listen to:

  15. This was very sad to read, please dont go thru this on ur own. You need to talk to somebody, then only will u be able to move on properly. Try to contact either sikhyouth helpline, or kaurproject if you want to talk on the phone. Dont be afraid of anything, you have done nothing wrong, be strong and confident. The hardest bit was coming on here and asking for advice. Waheguru will help u thru this.

    Why?

WJKK WJKF I dont think "its all in the mind". I go thru this a lot. I used to be able to do paat 2yrs, even thou i wasnt doing much back then, was still able to do it. Nowadays is so hard, but i also put that down to my health deteriorating. I go thru exactly wat u are saying @Anon, but with its when i want to go to gurdwara, or plan to do paat, then i get obstructed, therefor i dont plan nomore, and do as and when i can. I agree with u Mat Pulo Rai, I'm so fed up of this five chors now, i even swear at them, not that i should do that. But they get too much sometimes, which affects my health too. Instead somebody told me to listen to paat, and read along with it as its playing, if im finding myself doing it difficult. Dont give up @Anon, I dont let nothing deter u from going to the gurdwara. Go to gurdwara, nothing can happen to u there. Waheguru always looks after us, and watever is happening is all in their hands. Do u do simran?
  17. no matter iz no smoke tobaco, etc, the ting iz u mimicking da smoke effect, get wat i mean? then u gona wana smoke da real ting. lollipop is a sweet, but the fake cigarette still will want somebody to temptation at some point. Why do u want to mimick smoking? Thats wat i dont understand.. Why should you want to copy smoking with alternatives?
  18. hahahaha... I also understand u now @innergear! Naughty boy na ban, smokaa smuuuking na kar okkk....gud boy banjaa.... Is not ok, as u are trying to get the effect of smoking, dont matter if its bijlee wali, strawberi, choc, coka-kola watever flavaa.. Doughnut do it......
  19. sorryji, for the diversion, its innergear's vocabulary, bless him. YEs ur right @ advisor, not many would speak b4 marriage. One has to understand the reservation that has to take place b4 marriage. I dont think u have any problem, its just that u feel u have been knocked back by her, as she cried. Dont think its because of you, its not. Its probably because her being a Singhni that she has been very reserved, and been standing by her morals, and respect for herself, which is very great. Try to understand it from her side too, that It is very difficult for her to all of a sudden adapt to a stranger, when all her life, she has been with her family. Not all girls are confident in talking, or their interpersonal communication may not be as u expect it to be. Thats all because of the environment that she has been in, and as a person she is a shy person. Just be urself on your wedding day, dont worry about physical relationship too much, as that will stress u more and u dont want that b4 your wedding. You could try to talk to her on a one to one basis, and just tell her how u feel. But say it so as not to offend her. Tell her how that u feel low, and that you think its coz of u, as u have told us here. Also give her moral support, tell her u will be there for her no matter wat, and in sukh and dukh, she probably is very very nervous about the whole situation as u are. And the crying maybe part of a panic attack. The more she will feel less vunerable to watever she is fearful of, the more comfortable she will feel around you. Good luck and may waheguru give u happiness in ur marriage.
  20. @innergear. Thanks for me making me laugh. Your posts always cheer me up. Coz i can't understand them. Lol@find sum flowas. I know its your nokia wala phone.

  23. I agree with you, some people think the same thing, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana ji is caught in the middle of it all, and it hurts to see that somebodys life has been decided to be ended over the political side of it. I personally feel they have completed the 17yrs and should now be released in order to spend time with their family and have to a life. If they decide on life sentence in jail, thats going to be tough too. I understand why Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana ji is not appealing. "mangan maran saman hai, mat koi mange bheekh, mangan se marna bhala, yeh Satgur ki seekh". (Begging is like perishing, none should go imploring, It is better to die than beg, this is pure Guru's teaching) Why should sikhs have to beg for their lives, the justice system should be able to weigh up all the facts and be able to make a reasonable decision. This is 2012, and hanging in india is still being carried out. its ridiculous. Have they forgotton the khurbani Shaheed Bhagat Singh did for india? Don't they recognise this?
