  1. Not 100% sure but the cocaine / crack selling might be illegal in north of England, in my ends London every thing's cool, just you are taxed so much on selling class A's it's not really worth it. As for the killer thing being a night job, you really need stamina for that, cos bro night shifts are hard, mess your body clock up on weekends. Do you shop in supermarkets? Use a car? Use petrol? Been on a plane? If so must have been to the airport? All these places sell alcohol and tobbaco, so by visting those places you are supporting the people who endorse those products, agree to sell them and pay for their lifestyle. Why even live in a country that sells stuff like that lets make up "only fiveistan",you are the kiing but i've got dibs on president, we'lll ban everything like rationality aswell. Look Only Five, maybe you geniunely believe stuff like that but come to the real world, like on another topic the 'spn truth', by the way you edited your message but did not say you did, anyway it still as amusing after the changes. Some random people / who later you named as a women from another forum you had a disagreement with followed you across international borders, followed your movements, and did not once approach you or say anything. Just told I did that. Knew your exact movements etc. Whats more ridiculous someone doing it or you beleiving it, and the other posters about if "singh thinks he's in danger, giving advice". If that is true are you a secret agent and what do you know? And whats them peoples agenda, who funds them and are they planning to take over the world? (soory poor english, it's late got to sleep now).
  2. Sikhseeker, come on please do us the courtesy of informing us of the name of our cute niece.. Surely you have decided by now? Or is still different pet names? Sorry I'm so nosey and I know curiosity killed the cat, just grateful i'm not a cat! Just in case we send pyar, what do we write in the cards, you know you gonna love the pyar (aka money), for my pa-tij-ee. (niece, hard to romanise Punjabi). .
  3. Still no responses. KALSINGH ji if you have the time and skills please contact me. PM me i will give you my personal numbers. Where you live, if London we can link up or something (Central, near Strand, dinner time or something if after 6.30 Southall / West London ends? ? If it's East Mids, I go there alot of weekends so I can link you there on Sat's or Sunday before or just after Dinner time. Let's get an online petition started, if members of this site are not bothered there are alot of other others out there who might think it IS A BIG DEAL! There are more responses to the April fools day joke and other trivial personalities, who chat bob, Forget about the Mr. Reds etc. them people don't even matter as much I think so let them chat s1h7. We know it's not true, only by giving a Mr.Red or anyone else will there issue be highlighted, why acknowledge lies, be the bigger person ignore them. Is this not more important, it's not a trivial, frivalous matter I think this is really bad! This issue needs addressing more NO? Do we want others seeing images like that on underwear, I know only a proper muppet would buy that stuff. Actually theres something we can add to the statement that every one needs to agree too, read all my posts in this topic. But we can ask them if anyone ever bought stuff like that, if not that just proofs our point abit, about it being really inapporpriate. KALSINGH ji please get in contact with me. Lets atleast try.
  4. Paa Ji, you sound very similar to me. Whilst , I was growing up no one in my family was very religious. They are the best parents I could have wished for. NO one can take there place. Both my parents mum and dad were born in UK. The period they grew up in there was not much religious teaching / role models about. So it was also out of ignorance not choice, as my dad is a proper Sardar now. Not Amritdhari yet, but living the lifestyle of a true Sikh, he get's up at 2..45 and leaves for Gurdwara Sahib at 4.15 everyday. Also I just learnt to read Gurmukhi, last year. I am a snail compaired to you and you a Ferrari, I'm no where ready to take of think about Amrit just yet. My grandad had a really huge impact on the way I view the world, he was born in the time when they had to look up to the 'faranghee's and salute the shaibs, give up their seats even if it was 1st class and they paid alot of money for' (his words). My paiya ji (pie - ah G (phonetic spelling),), was from a very revoltionary village, they belived more in socialism and revelotion more so than religion. So I too am seeking Sikhi myself. Since the last year, when I took my kiddies to India. Also because of my parents. My personal opinion is why would any faith stop you from earning an income to support family. You do not consume the items. I do know that it is against Sikhi consuming, but the meat issue there are many points of view from Amritdharis'. Smoking and liquor yeah you can't consume but I don't know about touching, maybe you can't. It's your choice what would you do for a living? How support your family etc.? But if you can and want too, like have your heart in it - best of luck. But paa ji, theres the internet and various other media, so you can still learn alot from home.
  5. 100% true. But this should be a two way thing. Look don't get me wrong. Not with regards to your faith, stick to your beliefs, but if you ask so much from her, surely if she disapproves of some your habits, make a compromise. If you experience true love, you will be very fortunate - don't waste the chance you have. You may regret it, and then settle for second best later in life. So I think your first instinct, is normally right. If you think she is the only one for you, who you will love, start a family with and stick with forever, go for it. Obviosly she may have some undesirable qualities in alot of peoples eyes, but people can change. No one human being on this planet alive today is a true saint (i'dont think anyway, if so please who are they?). So as Christians say (not exact 100% quote) 'may the one who is without sin cast the first stone'. I know this is a Sikh site but the message behind is universal. They may also be something in Guru Ji with the same message. If anyone knows can they please quote it.
  6. Paa ji you are right. I have travelled extensively throughout Punjab. (when I was late teens / early 20's, wanted to know my roots). Ambarsaria's defo say stuff like "Kitra Bhhaoo", I think towards south west, Bhatinda is like Bai jee. But us Doabi's would say "Kidda Paa Ji". Yes veer ji is univeral, as some my aunties in India call my thiaya Ji (tyre, LOL! so hard to romanise Punjabi), call him Veera or Veer Ji aswell.
  7. Namastanq, thanks for showing some positive action. I am sorry I did not send a copy of your e-mail. Only reason being is, the wording is incorrect in my view. How can one person's e-mail voice the opinion of the whole Sikh community, without verification. Look don't take offence. Please let me explain, basically anyone can who has a lot of time on their hands can make and create 1000's of e-mail addresses, how hard is it to do that? Even a little kid can make an e-mail account copy paste the statement and then forward to the company. So from my experience and in my humble opinion, unless the e-mail has the backing of a recognised organisation from the Sikh faith and proper authentic details of the people who are protesting they won't take it seriously. Please read some of my earlier post in this thread, we all need to get together, provide valid accurate details (not forum nicknames, but real name and address contact etc. Again, read my earlier posts some may not want to show details to other nut ters so it should only be viewable to certain people.). Why on some topics there are loads of responses but on this not many? Is this a trivial matter? I did phone but had some immature person on the other end. They must have thought I was an extremist and hanged up!!!
  8. Sorry PJS paa ji, That's all I was also doing. Just being courteous, acknowleding Bibi Ji and responding. Sorry if I sound facetious. It's just on some post I see many views and hardly any responses. I was just saying Hi also. Obviously I do not think anyone of the members of this site would not welcome a new member. I was just merely acknowledging her greeting, responding and being polite. Paa ji the last thing I would think of is to personally sound offensive or anything like that towards you. I really respect you and I have earlier viewed the e-mail you sent me with my request so Thanks for that. You are very helpful and knowledgable person. Sorry to go of topic, but, everyone on this site uses Veer ji, is that just like a regional lingusitic charactistic of Punjab? Or like does it have religious / Sikhi significance / conotations? Because all my family (both parents as well), were born in England, we all use Paa ji. Is it because my ancestors are from Doaba, because everyone in that region does also. I have been to Punjab nearly 20 times in my life. I'm turning 30 this year, so I can speak and understand it Punjabi, albeit I just learnt to read Gurmukhi last year.
  9. WJKK WJKF, Thought i'd say Hi too, just make you feel welcome. (I have no authority or do not represent the site like admin / mods etc.), just from me personally.
  10. - DITTO!xPreetX - has a way with words / telling a story with a good message.
  11. Hi I just have a question about Sikhi. Hope this is the right forum as in desc. it says "General Sikhi talk and inquiries". Please I do not know! Secondly I do not want to cause offense or anything, far from it. Basically I m not amritdhari Sikh. I wear a kara is that wrong? Just because if I did not have the others am I entitled to wear just one? I know the majority NO actually everyone I have met has not taken offence to me wearing a Kara. But, I know I'am jumping to conclusions but if I was to say for example wear a Kirpan, some people would make comments and alot may not approve. Sorry if I sound argumentative or clueless, it's just that many people of Punjabi origin wear Kare, no one bats an eyelid. So can I have the honest opinion of the sangat, am I wrong just to wear a Kara, do I have to observe fully and adhere to all 5. Are non- Amritdhari's allowed too, and does it offend Amritdahris, if we wear Kare, just one of the Panj Kakkar? I do wear boxers aswell but that is different to Kachera. Or not? Does Kachera have to be like knee length? Sorry if I sound like an id10t, it's just I don't know. So please again I am sorry if I offend, it's just sometimes, some here think because I do not adhere to Sikhi 100%, I should not talk about it. I am trying to learn more, I want too!!!!!
  12. Sikh Missionary Society is on Featherstone Road. It is highly respected organisation in UK (my view). They publish many books on Sikhi, some they also give away for free, like for our younger brothers and sisters, intro's / basic facts and beliefs etc. Look don't hate on me for not being a Sikhi expert, not not everyone born in UK is actually for that matter not everyone in Punjab is aswell. The point I mean is they are a good organisation. They don't support anti-Sikh views. The uncle ji's in there are very friendly, and helpful. If you get to know them they will lend you books, DVD's etc. Which, you should always take back when you said you would or ask for an extention. Obviously, if they trust you to lend stuff, you have to take great care of them, if you ruin them even by mistake only fair to buy it. As then someone else who may buy it will have a ruined copy. They are there to help misguided people like me to follow the faith of Sikhi. The word missionary is misleading as they do not go canvessing for converts, they simply help with informing of our great faith. They have been established for years. Early 80's I think if not before. Don't qoute me on that not 100% sure! Oh yeah I fogot to mention DTF on Soho Road, Birmingham, so if you visit Birmingham, Handsworth check that place out. I never been but I have some books that have been published by them.
  13. I liked that vid. I reckon that show would have been preety cool. Is it by college students? cos you can see the institute's name at the top of the backdrop. My favourite were the 2 little Singh's at the start.
  14. Sorry Bro - quits. I acknowledge your sentiments.
  15. If you don't know what you are saying, I'm certainly not going to attempt to impute meaning to your disordered ramblings. The fact of the matter is that, given an IP address, it is quite possible, albeit rather difficult, to find the address of the person on the other end of the connection. See here: http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/ Such easily available programs will give you a latitude and longitude of where you are (not the location of your ISP), though they are not completely accurate. Usually only the police and the intelligence services can approach your ISP for an address, but an enterprising PI could do the same. I really wasn't trying, I'm afraid it just comes so very naturally. K. Anyway, PM me if those bewakoof SPN mods continue with their threats. I know many people who practice the dark arts (lawyers). K. Okay what my exact words it's in writing and not been changed ask admin are The bit about clever coming so naturally, learn to read and take your time without thinking that because you just looked like a muppet arguing about something with no valid point. As for the link you provided, I checked it does state your ISP. So Enstein, theres a thing called 'Google' just put in the name + office addresses.
  16. OK. SO you telling me if I am not connected to the internet. But I have an internal network I won't have an IP for each mschine. Please we upgraded the switches and routers at work I'am no expert about IT but I have been informed a little. With regards to Sikhi, I have admitted I'm no expert. As for voicing my opinion Hitler, I'll say what I want. Or do you think because I'm not in your gang I'm not entitled to an opinion.
  17. Sorry Only Five, I did only focus on one part of your post. Please I'll check them out. But I have been on the site and don't accuse me of being on their pay role but, I have found many responses to posts open minded.
  18. Er, no. An IP address is unique to a machine connected to the internet. It's not impossible to locate someone based on their IP address if you have the tools and the resources (luckily most people don't). K. Er what I'am trying to say? Please read every word! It's not unique to a machine on the internet but to any conncetion on a network. EDIT: Everry port will have it's own address. So, please don't try to be clever.
  19. Hi Only Five, Take deep breath and calm down. Look I just skim read the post but chill. The Virigin Media address, don't even know if it's accurate, can;t be bothered to check, it's late work in morning. But anyway let me explain Virgin Media address is the address of his internet service provider. Like for example, your from Canada right so um! i'm stuck but like have you heard of the BBC in UK. (they do not provide an internet service, but they are the most famous broadcaster, actually just like say Zee TV or Star / Sony / DoorDarshan etc. But anyways it's like one of their office addresses). Also the IP address, the guys at SikhSangat can check our IP addresses, so can some of the cleaver harry's who are on this site. It means nothing, they can not come to your house in the middle of the night and wake you up and say BOO!. Just go into dos and ping your ip address it means nothing if someone konws your IP address. If someone ever says I know your IP address say OK, I'm shaking it means nothing. It's just like an IT web phone number if that makes sense, but as theres millions of them they won't and can not really find your house.
  20. The prophet Mohammed, married Aisha when she was an infant at the the request of Aisha's father, to cement his bond with the Prohpet. What greater way than through marriage, her father thought. Look please do not say things like, it is has offensive overtones. No one has exact proof of prophet Mohammed's life and actions. All we know is the marriage was consumated after Aisha reached puberty. Some say 12. You were not there so how can yuou comment? Please note in those times people did marry at very young age, not pre puberty but on reaching very soon they were married.
  21. When I first seen the title I thought 'WOW' - someone who is being positve, from UK perspective especially in uniting faiths. HOW WRONG I WAS. The website should be prosecuted under trade descriptions act! First Islam -Sikhism initative! Load of *mod edit*. It is a truely one sided missionary website which attempts to declare supremacy of one faith over the other. I thought wow it will help join people of both faiths but it didn't. Just trying to convert people, if they want to I have no probs. But don't hate and disregard others believes. EDIT: My bad, just read it back, how contradictory - Sorry I just disregarded theres. But if someone wants me to elaborate more and justify my statement, I will do. Rationally, think about it and try to understand my angle. Please just view my other post in all forums, I do not oppose Islam. I love mankind and hate on nowone just because of their faith. Just in case anyone thinks I do.
  22. Thank you Paa Ji, for acknowledging my view. BUT COME ON - you are an administrator, so maybe your quite IT clued up. If you agree with my point someone else may have created their webpage, how and why would it be hard for them to bring change? Your words by the way! If they paid for a service, all they request to the providers is to change the syntax. Include a couple of IF / OR / THEN / ELSE or whatever in the coding! The guys behind the website paid for a service like you guys have at Sikhsangat.com, got a generic forum and slighlty customised it, paying money for it. So spending a little extra you can get it modified, like when buying a car, extra's cost! So the people behind can make changes. Nothing bad in trying?!!!!! OF COURSE THEY CAN CHANGE THE WEBSITE WITH REGARDS TO OFFENSIVE IMAGES. Just like admin puts their views across and locks or deletes or modifies posts they don't agree with. You think the people behind that site can't make changes? We are not all MUPPETS! Surely is worthwhile following even tohugh others may think:
  23. The point I was trying to put across was that maybe we don't know for 100% fact how there website works. I 'am not IT expert. But from my managerial experience I have learnt many websites and other software are pre-programmed. So the point I was making, sorry if it was not clear was the following. The software / coding / programming on their site may have a library of images. Also in another feild a set group of the different items they sell. The two different fields then just match up. That was my point I made. The website may have not intentially supposed to cause offence, did it with malice. I don't know. On the other point about controversy it is very valid. We don't know the facts. However, I did suggest the starting off a petition to inform them of their actions, other's would find offensive. With regards to how to start the petiton. I think the number10.gov site is just for new law changes etc. not 100% sure. But, YES we need to be backed by an organisation, not just random people like me, you and everyother person. So request to admin - you guys (male & female), must have some weight and contacts, just look at the number of members on this site. Let us all SIKHS, we all go on about united PANTH get together, all other SIKH websites, and other organisations. Together who ever is regarded as having the most official and influencle clout join forces. It may be the SGPC or Sri Akal Takaht Sahib, lets take it to the top. (in my opinion). Someone if anyone can and has the skills (come on apne are ment to be one of the best in IT). Make a web page - online petition in which we can all make our point being put across. (links to which should be on all SIKHI websites). The exact details of the statement (exact wording), to which we all support needs to be approved by the majority. the online petiton needs links on all SIKH affiliated websites. maybe only the mods, and people who receive the petition can view all our detials. Some members will not feel comfortable with other members viewing their details. Which, is a valid point. But we need to ensure they think our petition is 100% geninuine, not made up. For that reason they need to verify who we are. getting other faiths involved is great idea. They would be happy to join I think. But then if we want their support for our cause, should members on this site not then also think twice about bashing their beliefs next time? EDIT: Sorry the cause is universal, but what I ment is if we want support from them. Sorry my view only. What's everyone else think?
  24. Babbar_Singhsta, I'am only trying to be helpful. If you are going to India for only 2 weeks, and just visiting Punjab, it is pointless of thinking of visiting Hazur sahib. Reason is it's in Nanded, Maharastra. You can take a plane from Chandigarh to Delhi to Mumbai to Aurangabad, then train to nanded. Depending on connections but that's pointless because it is slightly less travel time but for the stress it's not worth it. Plus it works out so much cheaper to go by train (you have you own a/c cabin and beds! plus food is served), you don't save much time off the 36 hour journey by train, instead off plane. But point is It is easily 1 week to go there and back. It only makes sense to go for a good few days and have a fulfilling yatra. So sorry but I don't think you will be able too vist Hazur Sahib, due to time restrictions. Rajisthan, is not so far away depending on your location in Punjab. But it's still a mission. Patiala and Fatehgarh sahib, i'm not sure because that's in Malwa, don't have the pleasure off frequenting those places yet. But if you are in India for vaisakhi I would recommend going to Anandpur Sahib, it will be a very special experience at that time of year, you've just missed out on hola moholla but anyway I think you will have a great variety of products at Anandpur sahib during Vaisakhi celebrations. Just due to the fact of the number of pilgarims visting and doing darshan. As that is the birth place and will be the birthday of the Khalsa. I know I was not much help, but, hopefully there are 2 definetly 1 place your can discount - no?
