Yes. When scholars disrespect religious sentiments they should be beaten. Intellectual debate... thats for chumps. No matter what the guy said... when you starting beating up scholars or people who say something different than you... well... worked out well for the arab world didn't it? I am sorry to hear about your hard times man, but many great businessmen failed repeatedly before success (ex: Dell). The girl thing though, man you will be just fine. I don't know about you, but if I got half the girls I begged God to give me my life would be a living hell. You will end up with someone. Its like when you first start interviewing for jobs or grad school... its a huge deal... you think your never gonna get it... life sucks...... then BAM! Your in and its all gravy and you start worrying about the next problem. The fact that you have enough commitment to your religion to post on this site and go to Waheguru for guidance shows that you got character.... something most guys lack these days... and something that a good girl will want. I know it sounds easy for me to say man, but I promise the best thing you can do is keep moving forward and enjoy your last amount of time being single (not in a bad way, I mean travel, enjoy your free time, etc.) Once its gone its gone forever.... your single maybe 30 or so years.... your married for like 50-60.... Also, girls dig it when the man has other things going on in his life and is happy and seems to have his act together... so if your living your life and doing well they will pick up on it Keep your head up singh, its gonna be just fine.

I am so terribly sorry to hear about your situation. IMO this is far too serious a matter for you to seek advice about on this forum. No one on here can understand everything about your situation. Can you not discuss the matter with your parents? Even have a sit down with him and your parents? Physical violence is never acceptable in a relationship. Even pushing around. That is something that you can go to the police about. and no, this is not what married life is meant to be like.

Thats a normal thing. The fact that you feel bad about it means that you recognize that its bad and your a good friend. Just pretend that you don't compare yourself, and eventually you wont. Most importantly don't beat yourself up over it. Comparing yourself to others is a great way to get motivated. Also, if its about love, you will find it one day. If you review your post, do you realize that you quite often result to personal attacks, gross generalizations, or a change of topic when an opposing viewpoint is presented to you? Call it a joke if you want, but it is something you do regularly.

does anyone else find it hard to use these forums as they are intended? I often find myself posting needless political garbage that really just eats up my time and does nothing for me or anyone else... least of all bring me closer to waheguru... guess I gotta take another hiatus

If it was missionary I feel it would be very successful. There are many people who very much want to get closer to God / have religion in their lives... but simply can't buy all the teachings of christianity. Sikhism allows a practical and healthy way to approach life. I think sikhs have an ethical duty to at least let people know about their religion. Its way to valuable to be limited to just the punjabis. I also think that have a religion span many cultures tends to purify it, and prevent culture from becoming religion (ideally)

Bush got 50.7% of votes the second election, he LOST the popular vote for the first election. So please realize that before you blame Americans for everything. Just imagine a world where all problems could not be blamed on the US.... actually you wont have to. Pretty soon it will be China calling the shots... worlds gonna be in for a reality check... Its pretty easy to blast people/countries that you know nothing about on the internet. Its much harder to actually get out there and do something about it. If you have such strong opinions, and you seem to care so much, then why are your posting things on a forum. Go get stuff done. Seriously, I don't even mean that in jest. There are PLENTY of people who sit on the internet and blast other people all day long... if 1 out of 10000 of you guys actually got out and did something the world would be a MUCH better place. I feel incredibly stupid for wasting so much time on this BS, so I wont be responding any more. If I was a canadian and kept seeing sikhs on tv associated with gangster and assumed they were all gangsters... dont you see how stupid that would be? 1. I am staunchly libretarian, and have been for years. 2. I am not going to bother defending the "white privelage" thing, I know its an argument that I can't win. Think what you will. 3. I am fiscally conservative. I didn't like what Bush did, I don't like what Obama is doing. I think government is a BAD thing. I think the tendency of our generation to get their politics from what is "cool" or what SNL or Comedy Central tells us is a very stupid thing. You think its as simple as repubs are bad and dems are good... ignorance is bliss I guess. Thinking like that doesn't accomplish anything. 4. White supremacist is your big hang up. You expect me to dance every time you toss it out there and I am just not going to. Think what you will. 5. You do not speak for all sikhs. I guess marrying a punjabi girl, learning sikhi, going to gurdwara for over a year, helping out with langar, waking up for amrit vela, and choosing to raise my children in a religion that I was not raised in ( she offered to convert to catholic for me, but I refused to push my beliefs on her) all occurred because I am a white supremacist who is not a friend of sikhs. One day, many many years from now I suspect, you will realize that you do not know nearly as much as you think you do. If you have such strong feelings... please... go into politics. I think after a while you would find your gross generalizations were very inaccurate.
