  1. people are fooled by outter appearance. these above listed sects, their babe are all fake from the inside. but people dont realize that. and are brainwashed into believing you need to have a deh-dhari guru. and no, if these babe didnt keep kesh, nobody would follow them, even the babe themselvs know this, that keeping kesh is important no matter who you claim to be. so in order to lead the people into believing them, they have the sikhi appearance, but from the inside, its all just show, for the money. and the goverment does all this, well simply cuz they just dont like sikhi, plain and simple. they know if everybody becomes 100% sikh, and only believes guru granth sahib ji, theres gonna be khalsa raj everywhere in the region. and they still scared of the whole khalistan idea. its all done for political reasons. so they figure, dont let them become khalse, and they wont get khalistan, or khalsa raj. theres big big money spent behind all these anti sikh things. people are paid big bucks to say things anti sikhi. only to confuse the people and mislead them.
  2. dont really know of any books, but just another way to view this, and sorry if i offend people, this is just my opinion, but books are just personal views of how other people think, not how maharaj himself thinks, if we want to learn real sikhi, instead of books, we could read gurbani, which are personal views of maharaj himself and gurbani will tell us everything from A-Z. giani thakur singh ji says that 75% of sikhi is learned from listening to katha of guru granth sahib ji the remainging 25% comes from acutally following and living the life that katha tells us. if you were talking about sikh history, then theres sooraj parakh granth you could listen to, and theres tons of katha done on it too.
  3. maharaj is talking about doing bhagti roopi kheti. (farming) and in kheti there is an instrument called a khurpa. it has a small handle, and is used to dig up dirt, for doing "godhi". and a basola is the same sorta instrument, but has a longer handle on it, so you can dig up the dirt while standing up, unlike the khurpa where you would have to get down on you knees. here is a picture of a khurpa, so you can just imagine what a basola looks like, something very similar, but longer handle: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.kinsmangarden.com/images/uploads/2505_2157_thumb.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.kinsmangarden.com/category/KHURPA_FLAT_TROWELS&usg=__ea938rgKSwxK8XjW7ijwExXciko=&h=384&w=400&sz=268&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=cOeahi74MNv1QM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=132&ei=JxqqTaapD4Hg0QGM2vn5CA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkhurpa%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D681%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=630&vpy=84&dur=274&hovh=127&hovw=132&tx=94&ty=122&oei=JxqqTaapD4Hg0QGM2vn5CA&page=1&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0 so maharaj is saying, in you budhi roopi tharti, or in the land of conscience and understanding, using a basola, dig out kam and krodh from your mind. we replace kam with jat. (eka nari jati hoyi, par nari dhee bhain vkhanai) and we replace krodh with khima (forgivness) also, here is katha by giani thakur singh ji, the explain it in an easier way, this is help paint the picture in your mind, its file number 1039 on this link: http://gurbaniupdesh.com/multimedia/listing.php?q=f&f=%2F04-Katha%2F13-Giani+Thakur+Singh+Ji+%28Patiala+Wale%29%2FKatha+Sri+Guru+Granth+Sahib+Ji%2FCD12%28Ang1026-1190%29
  4. this is not a personal attack or anything, not directed towards any person, but a general reply that can relate to everyone..... the police wear uniforms..... and police also fight against and help stop criminals.....the army wear uniforms....the army does war and sacrifices their lives while everybody else at home sleeping...... we wear uniforms of the puratan singhs, the same uniforms that shaheed singhs wear, the same uniform that maharaj wears....but we dont fight, we dont help stop any criminals against sikhi, we dont fight any wars, we wear the uniforms and we also sleep in our homes...... they why do we wear the uniform?? its easy to put on the bana, but very hard to live up to its expectations. maybe if we first earned the bana and understood what it really means and what responcibilites come with it, then it would be worth wearing it. but now guru ka bana, shaheeda da bana has become a fashion statement. a jathebandi label for most of us. oh look at me i wear bana, im better then you, my jathebandi is better then you. and if you ask those bana wearing people hows nitnem going for you, did you delete your facebook account yet? still watch tv?? the typical reply is oh man thats hard to do! puratan singhs earned their bana, but today, we wear bana one day, then next day take it off, then when sunday comes again, we wear bana to guru ghar again. this has become reality for us.....
  5. if you are the pathi doing the akand path, then no, you dont get up. but if you are in sangat listening to bani, then it wouldnt hurt to get up when maharaj comes and do matha tek. this is part of satikar for maharaj entering and exiting darbar hall. we dont get up for anyone else, but when its maharaj himself, we should try to have the most sharda and respect possible
  6. hanji, sant ji said this to get the attention of the government who at the time was not listening any other way. sant ji used another expression "hath othe launa chahida ae jithe peer hove" meaning you should touch and care for that part of the body for where you are hurt. so sant ji did just that, the govrnment only cared for hindus, and only felt pain for the hindus so sant ji made sure he touched that part of the governments pain, the hindus. so when the government heard that 5000 hindus would be killed within 1 hour if the buses were not let go, everybody had a heart attack. and so shorty after sant jis statement, the buses were freed out of police custody.
  7. bhai jarnail singh ji was in sant ji's jatha.....so the nitnem that bhai sahib does and recored, that is the standard taksal nitnem. as to recorded nitnem of sant ji himself, dont think there are any such files. there could be out there, but they are deff. not online here is nitnem of sant kartar singh ji tho http://www.damdamitaksal.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=18 click on "nitnem" in the audio player, and then "sant kartar singh ji"
  8. heres katha done by sant gurbachan singh ji, its file number 3 on that page, the shabad starts at 10 minutes into it. http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audio.php?q=f&f=%2FKatha%2F01_Puratan_Katha%2FSant_Gurbachan_Singh_%28Bhindran_wale%29%2FGuru_Granth_Sahib_Larivaar_Katha%2FVolume_13_Ang_1168-1273
  9. what symbol or sign represents khalistan better then a weapon? after all "shastrn ke adeen hai raj" the ak is fine(which on that shirt looks totally awesome on that shirt) but if we afraid people will call us extreme or get a negative impression, then maybe a huge kirpan/khanda or something could replace it. budt then still there will be people who look at kirpans and such with a negative view. since everything is advanced these days, shastrs too got advanced.... the ak is not bad at all, just viewed bad by those who dont understand the need of such things in life.....] but with the majority of people's views these days, you do have a valid point pyara bhaji.....
  10. personally i think nobody should be allowed to have a saroop at maharaj at home. this is actually a big big beadbi going on everywhere in the panth, and nobody is really doning anything about it. we dont know the value of such a person like guru sahib, and neither do we have the samratha of following their bachans the way they wanted us. the type of life style that is required in other to have maharaj ji's saroop at our home is very very hard to keep. especially outside of india, where everything is anti-sikhi. but yea, the best option here would be to either give saroop back to guru ghar. where do you live??
  11. this greeting was given to everyone by guru sahib, and guru sahib wanted us all to be amritdhari...so if we were to ask is this only for amritdhari, then that gives the impression that its ok not to be amritdhari, or that we dont have to be, when in reality we all have to be. so when we all become amritdhari, we will all start using this. but since now majority of us are not amritdhari, the trend of non amritdhari, which has been going on for some time now, is to say sat sri akal. non amritdhari people maybe feel shy to us fateh among each other. for example if one mona where to say fateh to another mona, the typcial responce would be something like, "tu vada baba baniya firda ae". as its not the popular mindset among non amritdhari people to say fateh, especially among typical punjabi pride style familys. (drinking/meat/bhangra party style familys) but now slowly as people are becomeing more and more amritdhari, they are going back to saying fateh. there is a rehat nama guru sahib recited to a singh, not sure of his name, but the rehat nama line is something like this, "aage avat singh jo pavai, waheguru ji ki fateh bulavai". meaning when one singh greets another singh, they should say fateh to each other, greet each other with fateh. what do you think d kaur ji....lets hear your view....
  12. katha on the jeevan of sant jarnail singh ji khalsa done by giani thakur singh. its the last file on that page, called "sant da jeevan" http://www.gurmatvee...Patiala_wale% giani ji's sukhmani sahib katha is also a gud one if your just starting to get into katha. bhai sukha singh uk has done some really nice lectures. can be found on sikhroots.com
  13. sorry but what exactly are you trying to ask? read the post like 4 times, still dont know whats being asked...??
  14. sant ji did in fact say this, but here is the entire speech, theres 5 parts total. it would help if you listen to all 5 parts to better understand the bigger picture, because if we just take out bits and parts of such speeches and not get a full understanding of the entire situtation, we will think sant ji against hindus or is in favor of killing hindus. but sant ji does a very gud job himself of why he said this. the 5000 hindu part is in part 2, at around 8 minutes into it. this speech is taking place at manji sahib divan hall, darbar sahib. but in the end, no sant ji didnt kill 5000 hindus, or didnt need to i guess. cuz the situation was resolved very quickly after sant ji told everyone he would do this. its all explained in the speechs below.
