the maryada that has been told during all of the amrit sanchar smagams this uk visits, have been the one in gurmat rehat maryada by damdami taksaal. the maryada followed during preperation of amrit is also following the one in maryada pubished by taksal. Wel it would be good to wear a kurta or chola. but if u dont have one you can just wear normal clothes, but you cant wear trousers/ pajama where amrit sanchar is done. you dont take your dastar off any time in the amrit sanchar. when panj piare put amrit in the sees, you just move the top larr of the dastar to reveal abit of your hair and amrit is poured in there.

vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh sorry no one replied- i will try my best to answer your questions. when the ardaas is done for the akhand paat arambh, after the hukamnama the paati singh doing maharaj's sewa starts the akhand paat from 'ikoankaar satnaam ' etc when the paati singh starts the jap ji sahib paat, the paati who is doing the jap ji sahib raul from the pothi sahib starts similtaneously. so you dont read any saloks etc before. all the jap ji sahib paat is done silently while the akhand paat sahib is normaly read out loud. but if you find it hard to read it mentally like that, you can whisper the paat very quietly but it should be made sure that the main paati is not disturbed etc. with jap ji sahib raul you can READ AT ANY PACE you want. fast or slow it doesnt matter with jap ji sahib raul, whereas it is different with guru granth sahib raul. it is a must that before doing any raul etc or sewa in akhand paat you should do Full ishnan ( kesh also). and yes it is VERY good if you cover your mouth with hazuria. another important thing is to not touch the floor of where your sitting, and then turn the pages of the pothis. if you need to touch the floor i.e. doing matha tekh or getting up support, cover your hand in ur hazuri. turn the angs with satkaar and not in a rushed manner.normaly in taksal etc it is taught to turn the ang from the top with your finger and take it down and then turn the ang. you can do chaur sahib every once in a while if you want to, but agian it shoudn't disturb the main paatis etc.

Any banis can be recited at any time; so yes anand sahib can be read at any time. Only bani i have heard having a maryada on it is chandi di vaar

If two people are going you can bring back one pothi each in handluggage. the most practical way would be in a bag , i.e. a decent sized laptop case sized bag. At home many gursikhs who keep guru sahib at home place the senchis on guru sahibs bed also. if guru sahib is not at home, then you can place the senchis on shelves. there must be rumalas underneath the pothis and you should santokh the pothis there and place another rumala over them. both pothis must not be placed on top of each other ( that makes guru maharajs saroop )you could keep them side by side or one pothi on top shelf one pothi on 2nd shelf.

its not needed. to be sure i can say it will probably create more beadbi and problems. and how many saroops does a gurdwara need? as one poster has said already many gurdware hav so many saroops they have not even been parkash for years

heres my opinion. dont bring maharaj to stay at your house if there cant be satkaar. not minimum satkaar- but maximum- heres what i think -if we have maharaj in our house , do we have seperate palangh ( bed) for sukhasan at night? is it 9" by 3" minimum?are the bed sheets , rajai , blanket changed according to the weather? - does bhog take place 2/3 times a day as parshada for guru sahib? - do we change guru sahibs ramale atleast every other day? - do we clean guru sahibs room? is guru sahibs room big, clean and well ventilated? - do we keep fans on in summer and heaters on in winter? - do we do parkash every day? nitnem in maharaj hazuri and atleast kirtan( if not possible paat of) of asa di vaar followed by degh? do we do sodar chauki at night followed by reheraas, aarti , kirtan etc? -is guru sahibs thakat adorned with a chandoa sahib at the top which covers the full space of guru sahibs takhat ( so not too small)? - does the whole familly know how to read gurmukhi and do shudh paat? does the whole family know how to do sewa of guru sahib? - is someone on pehra 24/7 in the house, so maharaqj is never alone in the house? -can it be sure that someone will be hazar for doing sewa, not coming late from family programmes or going to holidays or something? - guru maharajh should not be placed in almaari or trunks etc. the satkaar that we should give to maharaj is endless, but there are important points that we should think about before bringing maharaj to our houses. it is hard but maharaj says - gur peera kee chaakree mahaa kararee sukh saar

if there in english , or even in gurmukhi you dont need a bed chandoa manji sahib etc for senchia senchia were solely for doing santhia , paat bodh , sehaj paat etc they dont classify as maharajs sarup. keep your senchia in ramale , give poora satkaar and keep them on a high shelf with ramalas underneath and on top etc from what ive been told we should give satkaar to all our gutkeh , pothia , give dhoop , santokh with nice keemti ramale on a high asthaan senchia in gurmukhi are supposed 2 be kept sperate so they are not saroop of maharaj of course if you want to you can keep senchia on manji sahibs and so on its your own sharda , but they are not maharajs sarups so they dont need 2 be parkash everyday , sukhasan everyday , change rumalas evryday and so on , its not necassary most people i know keep senchia on a shelf, but doing satkar for bani is a must , and if we can we should all make the effort to do as much satkar as possible and as they have english translations they would classify more as steeks/ translations
