  1. Hi Mahavir, How about me man? lol, are you in Canada?
  2. Hi guys, Love, the most sensitive human emotion, oh man I remember when I was in love, and then I remember why I'm not ever going to fall in love again But my question is, is falling in love with another person a test from Waheguru or is it a form of spirituality? Personally, I think its a test from Waheguru, and I also think that love is for selfish people. When I'm using the term love I mean, you go out to the store, you see someone and its not even like you feel lust for them, its just that you want to spend your whole life with them, you want to please their every wish and just AHHHHHHHHHHH JUST LOVEEEEEEEE THEMMMMMMMM Your thoughts on this please!
  3. Hi Jitty, I agree with your post one hundred and ten percent, but why is it being targeted at me ahahaha, were on the same page on this one bro.
  4. Hi Moorakh, Maybe I'm just open minded? Afterall, I do belong to the same faith as you guys, but I'm also an individual at the same time. My thoughts aren't going to run at the same level as anyone else in the world, let alone this forum. I'm here learning, just like everyone else, but I do like to voice my opinion; just because it doesn't match what some may think, doesnt mean I'm wrong and they're right.
  5. Count me in on that. Why is no one commenting on the Baba Deep Singh ji tattoo man lol ahahhahah am I only the fan here?
  6. Cant wait to get my tattoo lol, I'm at 173 lbs right now, maybe another 10 more in about 2 months and I'll snap a pic and post it on here, whats your thoughts on the Baba Deep Singh ji tat?
  7. He is not a Singh at all man lol, my buddy actually knows the guy he just sent me the pic, I fell in love with it.
  8. Check this out: Baba Deep Singh: I'm looking to get an Akali Phoola Singh tattoo on my right arm, not as big, maybe 4 inches smaller then the one posted above. Tat's are fine man, as long as they are something meaningful to you, you shouldnt get some stupid Chinese symbol on your arm or something, but something like the tat of a martyr is fine, own opinion, I dont think I'd be able to look at it differently.
  9. BRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  10. First off, I'm non-Indian. Second off, I'm non-Punjabi, although I do read/write/speak it. edited edited, pledging brotherhood from a single vessel or loving cup, and indulging in singing and dancing to the accompaniment of drums and stringed instruments resembling lutes" - Hippocrates My ancestors are the Getes. Although my ancestry has nothing to do with my way of interpeting relegion.
  11. very nice Navdeep, as I've said earlier, women do represent the honour of your household.
  12. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU HAVE HIGHLIGHTED MY WHOLE FRICKING POINT THIS WHOLE FRICKING DISCUSSION, the whole reason I even wrote what I did about women before was WHY LOHRI WAS CELEBRATED FOR BOYS ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW WORKING NOW WORKING SO NOW MORE N MORE PEOPLE ARE CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS HURRAY WEVE MADE A BREAKTHROUGH ON THIS FORUM Although more and more families from Jatt backgrounds are having to move out from Punjab because of the reserve policy inplace from the government to give people of other backgrounds jobs over Jatts even though if the Jatt person is more qualified then the non-Jatt. Thank you.
  13. Hey Ryu, A painting is more authentic as the artist can add more emotion to it then a simple picture.
  14. And your sisters represent all the women in Punjab right? Overall by far, girls aren't as much into the work force as men are, thats a fact. lmao ahaha oh ok, have you ever heard of the phrase MOD:EDITED Wow man, you guys are using 3-4 examples to counter a province that has a population of 32 million people! Now if you can atleast near or half the female population in the workforce, then you might have a point about girls being the same in India. oh btw, what'd your family do back home? I mean to put 3 girls through school like that, either your financially supported by family in the west or you guys were well off financially at home right? So which was it? And if you were well off financially, obviously your going to be able accomplish things like that, my point is NO T EVERYONE IS. And for the 101st time, I still think that girls and guys in the west are both equal when it comes to jobs/careers.
  15. Hi Akal, Atleast acknowledge that I was saying how females are the same in the west that the whole time. Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi Akal, Re-read my posts, Ive said so many times how in the West its the same as both male and female are equal, this is my 100th time telling you this. Thanks.
  17. Uncut hair on the head has always been associated with royalty.
  18. haha this is pretty hilarious now just answer this for me please, How many of you have lived in India? How many of you have had all girls born into your family in India? How many of you have worked as a female in India? btw, I know some very powerful Jatt families back in Punjab, and some even number in the 1400 killa jameen area, and they'd still be upset if they had girls born into their family because whos going to be able to cultivate the land? So dont give me this equal opportunity b.s. I dont know how many times I've said I'm all for equal treatment especially since we're in the West and not back in India anymore, it just shows how low the IQ level is amongst some people on this forum. Sure, use that right in India and see how far it gets you? I'm talking about the West and both girls and males are equal here. In India you have no choice, who says I'm saying that myself? Please do quote where I say this, I'm more then eager to be enlightened. Sure, just answer my 3 questions above and that will show how hard your life has been. Where the hell are you getting this idea that I'm against women? I'm saying back in India this is how it is, if you want to change that, go live there and put your theory into practice, fill us in on how far it gets you. Thanks in advance.
  19. lol this is just getting too funny, do you really think everyone has the discipline that some GurSikhs out there do? Man you guys HAVE NOT FACED A HARD LIFE, its as simple as that you guys just have not seen the hardships of girls in the family back home and your hearing preaching about Sikhi when you have no idea how its like when you have 3 girls sitting at home waiting to get married, who cant provide for the family and you have n 82 year old baba who cant work because of his old age! So wouldnt you think hed be just a BITTTTTTTTTTTTT happier with a boy that can go out and make enough to feed his family for the night? YOU GUYS ARE A BUNCHA SELFISH WHINERS. Now thats just stupid, I could say the same thing about following a relegious beleif, that we're just acting like sheep because its the rule of God. Alrite man, well I guess we should be sending our daughters out to work in India so they can come home raped and abused. Dont know what your talking about, I personally drink and not the most relegious person on the planet, society has nothing to do with how I think since I live in a society with FREEDOM. Akal, its very easy to say these things born n bred in the West, my suggestion to you is: Sell all your property, move with your parents back to Punjab(where theres no salvation army, no social insurance, no dental plan and no welfare cheques), and start sending yourself and your women in your household to work. I dont know what your thinking, but if you want to have food on the table, clothes on your back and a roof over your head, you better start working. YOU WORK YOU EAT OR YOU DIE, its as simple as that. I am telling you the whole point behind the tradition, I cant beleive how narrow minded this discussion is going, Ive already stated how in the West more and more families are celebrating for both boys and girls, I dont understan d why I'm being attacked here. btw, like I've said for those out there who still have fathers that dont care about the birth of their daughters, must be your own family, like I've said earlier, my dad thinks of my sister has a crown on his head and that she represents the honour of this family. I dunno how many countless times we've ended up in fights because of people disrespecting women of our household. Women get alotta respect too, its in the little things. Infact from the culture I was brought up in, women are probably more "respected" then men.
  20. Hi Jaspreet, My dad says that daughters are like crowns on their heads, because women represent the honour of your household.
  21. Hi Akal, In India/Punjab, a male is the one who goes out and provides for the family, and a female CANT because Indian society harrasses women left and right, for this reason, a boy in the family is a huge deal because he can go out and provide for the family, where as a girl cant because of the circumstances in that particular society. Now in the West its completely different as both male and female can lead their lives with freedom. So now more n more people are celebrating lohri for females and males. The people who still celebrate it for males are most likely born in India first and then here, so that idea of a male being the person whos bringing home the money is still within them. Theres nothing wrong with this ideology, they were born n bred back in India so you cant blame them for the way they react to certain things. Thanks Akal, I appreciate your sinceri ty.
  22. Hi guys, Ive always wondered what the Sikh prespective is on legends such as: Mirza/Sahiban Heer/Ranjha Leyla/Majnu Sassi/Punoo Sohni/Mahiwal Farhad/Shirin Lets keep in mind these were real people, and they arent some mythology brewed up by the people. p.s. in your reply, could you also list your favorite legend?
  23. Hi Akal, What I do on my own time is my own personal thing, what difference does it make to you? Stick to the topic please. They arent celebrating lohri because they dont wanna follow the Guru's teachings Akal, theres something called CIRCUMSTANCES and unless you yourself have SUFFERED from those CIRCUMSTANCES you have no right to generalise a whole people/culture. Akal how many times have you been to India? 2 months out of the year? Sure sounds like it, I've lived there for 3 years, and know what society is like up close and personal.
  24. Hi Sarblor, What are you referring to?
  25. Hi guys, I'll put my 2 cents in to say that, slowly lohri is becoming a festival for both guys and girls, in the west side that is. You have to realise that it was celebrated so highly because back home, a male was supposed to be out working and the female was supposed to be staying back home. I understand the whole idea of equality, but have you ever seen a woman walking by herself in India? Do you know how PERVERTED some of the guys are down there? In the West its a bit different now because both males/females can make careers for themselves, and back in India society doesnt allow that, so to have a girl there is something that is of great stress to the family. A woman cant go out and provide an income for a family in India, and no income in the family means no food on the table. I'm not against lohri, not for it, I need a reason to dance and have a few drinks so I'm pro on any kind of celebration!
