  1. Just because someone has a different opinion than yourself does not make them a fool.
  2. This has gone way off topic, it was such an informative thread but of course members have to ruin it with their mindless mumbo jumbo. You have a bharm gyani telling you things yet you choose to analyze what they are saying?! Topic closed, if I get time I will go through all the posts and remove all off topic replies.
  3. Bhaji kitho labhi jandey ho inna khajana?
  4. Definitely go see a different doctor. But always remember, If you start doing naam/Gurbani abhyaas for 2+ hours every day (on top of your nitnem), all rogs (physical, emotional and spiritual) will vanish with Guru Kirpa.

    Topic For Boys

Alright, since none of you know what the context is, allow me to explain. That quote is from a lecture he did in the 70s, almost every person attending this lecture was a hippy. If you do not know what a hippy is, please Google search the terms. I do agree that both masturbation and homosexual activity is bad for your Sikhi, there is no two ways around it. But, from what I can tell he is clearly mentioning from a strictly physical point of view. For those mocking the breathing techniques, there is solid scientific proofs that show their positive impact on the brain. There is a video on Google, where Sant Waryam Singh Jee clearly demonstrates how breathing can be used to do Simran and progress on the path of Sikhi. So there is definitely value to it. Having said all this, I'm sure many will wonder if I am "3HO", I am not. I have done Yoga in the past but have found much more at peace reciting arth sehat Shri JapJi Sahib hence I do not do yoga anymore. But I do know folks who do and they are much better Sikhs than I will ever be. I've deleted all the posts which were merely mocking.
  6. LOL Koi urdu parr sakda? What do the captions say?

    Hair Dye

It is better to figure out what is causing the white hair. It's always always best to tackle a problem at its root, rather than simply mask its symptoms. Please consult with your Doctor.
  9. Payarey shotey veer Please take a look at this, this will help plenty in channeling the energy correctly. http://www.mrsikhnet.com/2007/03/12/sat-kriya-dealing-with-sexual-energy/ At the young age of 16, you have done well by refraining for 3 weeks. If you start doing Sat Kriya (linked above), you can completely get rid of this habit. Guru Rakha

  12. When I went to New York, the only NBC studios had security check. They announced that if anyone had any weapons such as knives, handguns etc that they hand them over to security before entering the tour. You definitely do not need to take your kirpan off while visiting Times Square. Me and friends roamed free, entered a few shops and there were no security checks. We didn't visit the Empire State Building, but went to Rockafellar center instead. It had no security checks at all. We did take a boat tour but didn't go visit the little island with Statue of Liberty. We also went to Flushing Meadows to watch the US Open with our kirpans, no issues. Visited the week of Sept 11 2010 and even then faced no issues at all.

  14. While these are all good points one can implement in their life. A Sikh must never forget that sunq jpq hir nwm jsu qw kI dUir blweI ] sunath japath har naam jas thaa kee dhoor balaaee || Misfortune is kept far away from those who hear and chant the Praises of the Lord's Name. mhw mMqRü nwnku kQY hir ky gux gweI ]4]23]53] mehaa ma(n)thra naanak kathhai har kae gun gaaee ||4||23||53|| Nanak chants the Mahaa Mantra, the Greatest Mantra, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||23||53|| As Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Sahib Jee states, of all meditations there are, the most supreme is singing/saying/contemplating on virtues of Sri Waheguru Jee. People who practice yoga are always talking about how certain poses benefits certain aspects of one's life. This is fine as it seems to have worked for them. However, in the path of Gursikhi such things not required. Dhan Sri Nanak Dev Sahib Jee clearly states in Sri Japji Sahib suixAY jog jugiq qin Byd ] suniai jog jugath than bhaedh || Listening-the technology of Yoga and the secrets of the body. By listening to Naam (Gurbani), the outcome of doing Yoga (to open chakaras etc inside the body) is automatically achieved. Giani Thakur Singh Jee has stated this in Katha many many times, if we spend 2-3 hrs per day doing abhyaas of Gurbani, everything will just fall in place.

    Proms & Discos ? :S

OP, the real question is that if you force yourself not to go then would your mind/thoughts still be at the dance? In the end, the decision to go or not must from with in you You are still young and will go through many experiences in life, both good and bad. The key is to always remember that each and every experience put in front of you is trying to teach you something thereby making you a better human being. A story I read a few years ago will hopefully clarify what I am trying to say. Two monks were walking toward their ashram one day. They came across a beautiful woman who had gotten injured and thus was unable to walk to her destination. Upon inquiring with her, they found out that her destination was right on the path they had to take to get to their ashram. So one gladly hoisted her up on his back and off they went. She was dropped off at her destination and both monks kept moving forward toward their ashram. Once they reached the ashram the other monk asked the first one, "Why did you pick up that beautiful woman and took her with us. You know we are not suppose to do that." The first monk replied, "Brother, yes I did pick her up but I also dropped her off at her destination but you are still carrying her with you."

  21. If the emails are not the Mail server, then I'm not sure if anything can be done. Perhaps you can send all the emails to yourself again? For this to work, you will have to enable the "Leave a copy on the Server" option first; then re-send all the emails; then you should be able to get all email on both accounts. Apologizes if that is not helpful, I don't have a whole lot of time to search on this issue at the moment.
