  1. If he was an inspiration then why should that stop now? Remember what he said when he was a sikh, always remember what you learnt. Learn from him even now, Harjit Singh has made a mistake, if it can be called that, now you know how to better yourself. Follow the life he lead as a sikh and don't follow the path he did that lead him away from TRUTH. Hopefully one day he will return to the truth and we can all be there (as sikhs) when he decides to return.
  2. Very immature replies by most of us. I agree. The point is it's showing some of them want to seperate themselves from the rest of us. Even if it was sikhs we would wonder why. There is no need for it. Mocking other faiths is certainly not part of sikhism, some of us tend to drop to the level that we dislike in others. Perhaps to get to them like they get to us. That's not all muslims by the way, but some muslims treat others like nothings and that doesn't please us. Not that I expect our posts to please you. I think we should post less stupid posts on this thread..
  3. You're not expected to bow to anything in the mosque. You will not come across any statutes. The only time you might be expected to do anything is when they pray facing the kaba. You can go and it might even be good to show the muslims in your class that attending a religious place of worship is nothing to fear, as they do, but in fact only a school trip!! For this you must behave confident and of course be ready to either ignore any questions they try to ask you or be ready to challenge them if need be. If however you do not want to go then its simple as, no one can force you, learn to stand up for yourself in front of a teacher. Your excuse does not have to be that if the muslims dont go then you dont have to. That will mean you are only 'copying' them. Instead make it clear that you do not feel comfortable going. There is no way they can force you. Learn to be strong. Its not a case of convincing the teacher, its a case of telling the teacher and then sticking to what you have just said, simple as!!
  4. not if you only eat roti daal and some people do and you do admire them. they are perfectly health wise happy!!
  5. its goin to be like restaurant food!!
  6. Someone needs to tell me why we are even getting so emotional about this topic, look at both sides and then let the individual make up his mind instead of getting excited with the caps which online suggest you're shouting, not something to shout about unless you think the words of baba ji are true.
  7. Maybe a lot of things in this world are not made to be experienced but to distract us, and those that we think act like they are dead are actually more alive than us? And if you really want to experience the world then why not meet the snake and experience a bite? The moral of the post- not everything in this world is made for you to experience. But the post above, it was very interesting, you should type more of those.
  8. Hopefully we will stick to the topic on the trip and NOT on whether or not people think a person should be called sant, for that they can always start a new thread.
  9. you can't laugh at them for that, they are only saying God willing, nice! But I think if they don't like it here then they can go to where their 'roots' are. By living here they are accepting that the west is better than the east and now they want to make it hell as well! Its funny but stupid.
  10. I'm finding it near to impossible to believe that Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji would lie about this. Singh Soorma, thank you.
  11. 1. What were Baba Ji's words when they passed away, about Baba Jarnail Singh Ji?? 2. What about those photos that are 'supposed' to be of Baba Jarnail Singh Ji as a shaheed??
  12. The problem is these men cannot accept anything different so they book that, if they love that way of life then why not move to afghanistan? They must be thinking 'look at this place, we made it pure, all those infidels were here yesterday' (Not all of them). what about when they travel on the bus?
  13. 1. What did Sant Baba Thakur Singh JI say before leaving? 2. Assuming Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji is not shaheed what explanation does anyone have for the photos?
  14. If you want to eat meat at least don'tgo tothe beef part please, I'm sure that's wrong. ADMIN Note: Topic has been discussed before please do a search. Topic Closed.
  15. I don't wish this thread to be closed, if we discuss this without the intention of simply offending others this may be a very useful thread for all sikh men and women and girls and boys. When you think you're right, why do you so readily accept others opinions? So when they want you to be quiet does that mean you should? Isn't it our own responsibility to speak up as its needed, like now?? If you feel so strongly then try to convince us, you partly changed some peoples minds, completely changed other peoples minds, and convinced others that your posts are a waste of time, but if you think you're right, carry on. Don't stop because we are willing to read, we are reading. But again, we don't like pics posted with only the intention to laugh at them, back it up.
  16. Like I said sikhs don't laugh at others so if someone laughs at you when in the Gurdwara then who said they are correct to do so? Why do they laugh at you by the way? Not that anything justifies it as long as you behave as a sikh which I'm sure you do. Brother, Guru Ji can be interpreted in so many different ways, sometimes you may interpret in a way that many people will disagree with. Why not direct us to the quotes and ask for everyones opinions and accept that they will not always agree with your view, most of the time people don't agree with my view! No one is fighting against you for speaking up - its great that you do but when you say something then you have to accept the criticism that comes with it. Your approach is wrong I think, continue to direct us to where Guru Ji say something that backs up your opinion. What did the Nihung Singh Ji say? And I don't think what he did was wrong. By the way he only 'borrowed' the mic.!
  17. Pritam Singh why are you asking someone to shut up? How about you breathe? His points are just as valid as yours! I completely agree with you on that we need to know what people are up to - whatever religion they may belong to. But like I said before, your approach to some extent is wrong and offends a lot of people. Yes we need everyone, even you,to tell us that there are people out there who are causing trouble for others but some of what you say is only to make us all laugh at them and sikhs can't drop to such a low level, its too low. Sikhs don't sit there laughing at others, its cheap and it doesn't get you anywhere - really it doesn't. Great to put up links, yes do more of that, at least that way one can click on a link and judge for themselves what's right and wrong. Also, if you believe the sangat needs to know something why not do a search on www.sikhitothemax.com and provide us with what Guru Ji have stated so everyone is willing to listen to your opinion and no one can accuse you of trying to offend unnecessarily?
  18. True- one thing Muslims and Hindus do is rape women when they become extreme, but that's one thing the true Sikhs do not do. Its truely sad. That's religion for you. I'm finding it hard to avoid critising the history of islam but perhaps the stories of Muhammad encourage them to rape these women, murder these men for they are infidels. Sikhs on the other hand, we are taught that we should love Akal Purakh's creation, love the world, love the animals so of course we should not be so cruel to humans beings.
  19. I thought jessi his muslim friend who reads bani,or nott
  20. Benti Chaupai has been shortened as has been stated in the starting post, hopefully we can go back to read bani fully- how can it be right to skip parts?
  21. I would love to see people write about other religions good or bad based on quotes from Guru Ji to back it up rather than take the mick out of people directly saying 'would you likeyour mum to look like that'? That's childish.
  22. I too to those sikhs who have so much so much strength and pyaar.
