  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Heard at panjab radio this morning at about 8:20 am they played this shabad "So Satguru payara mere nall hai Jithe kithe menu chadahi" Does any one know who has recited this shabad, and any other details Thanks Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  3. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh I agree that in Sikhism there is no caste. But the Almight has made us all different, habits, looks, etc. Khalsa Ji - Have a look at what is said there. Everyone is equal in Sikhism, means once the person has taken Amrit and come into Sikhism, out of that I am not convienced. So if you want to created equal, there is a path to take, and that path is be an Amritdhari. Unless you are on that path, you are a tarkhan, Jat, gora, kala etc. etc. etc. Fateh.....
  4. Khalsa Ji What about BOSS = British organisation of Sikh Students. have a look at the following link: http://www.boss-uk.org/ Vaheguru Ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh.
  5. Vaheguru Ji Ka khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh My 2 cents on the nanakshai claendar. it is good that sikhs are saying that there should be a calendar of their own. But does sikhism not believe in that everyday should be treated as the same. Is it not going against the basic prinicpal of sikhism to go with a calendar which gives hardly any justification of sikhism to the new generation. Ok lets take a practical example: How many people know their Birthday in Roman calendar - almost all of us. And how many know it in the Nanakshai calendar. Well I dont. Another example: When you do your bookings for holidays/events etc. or run your day to day life. Do you say that I am going to take these holidays according to the Roman or the Bikrami/Nanakshai Calendar. Sikhism is practicailty. This is what our Gurus told us Get out of the illussions and believe in practicaility. So why go ahead with all this claendar issues. How come Xmas is celebrated at the same time every year, even with Roman Calendar it should change. But does it make any diff as long as you celebrate/remeber the event. Does gurudwara's in the west not celebrate the gurpurab's primarily on the weekends. Rather than on the day Comments pl. Fateh.........
  6. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Khalsa Ji Bearing in mind the current happenings of the hot topic which has been posted here numerous times: A new video report has been posted on: http://www.khalistani-lionz.com/index.php May vaheguru give us strength to have naam simran, and have enough sense to understand right from wrong. 8. Khalsa Fateh! It will be good if ppl stuck to the initial post rather than deviating from the subject. The original post was on RS and why they are so successful, and how they are destroying Sikhism. A very good practical example has been given by all partcipants by completly blowing this out of propoartion, taking and changing the conv to a different irrelvant subject/argument. Well what can I say. Wake up now at least. Cant you see what is going on. These ppl succedd cos they know Sikhs can easily be mislead. Believe in the Guru and be educative. That is what we need to be. RS's or someone else dont need to do anything if we all cant even argue on the same point. Tapoban has some excellent articles/discssusion already discussed on RS's. From a sikhi prospective the following comes into mind: "Rehat Payari muj koh Sikh Payara Nehin" Regardless of the Sikh being a Jat/Tarkhan/Human. Enough said. Khalsa Fateh Ji......
  9. Vaheguru Ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh Khalsa Ji, I am looking for a shabad by Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji Hazzori Ragi Darbar Sahib. The Shabad is : kal kaathee raajae kaasaaee dhharam pa(n)kh kar ouddariaa || I can get cassettes of it here but the recording is quite poor, and I dont have a cassette player. Appreciate your help Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  10. Khalsa Ji Takhat Hazoor Sahib after Maharaja Ranjit Singh got it developed lost control from the sikhs and fell into the hands of Mahants. Obv being in Hindustan it was very hindufied. The maryada of Hazoor Sahib, i.e Path, Seva etc. didnt change and is still kept intact. After the 1920's wakeup of Sikhs the control was somehow taken over but the rituals still remained. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  11. Khalsa Ji Karah parshad. When Guru Nanak Dev ji was asked, what is it that a infnat, toddler, teenager, young person, middle age, old age, person can eat. That is where Guru Nanak Dev ji answered with the Karah Parshad that gets served in Gurudwaras. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  12. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Discussion with my fellow work mates, over lunch, turned on to religion. Sikhs why dont they cut their hair. After discussing things such as we shouldnt cut things given to us, and that the reason why we cut our nail is that they are non-living, where are hair is a living part of the body. What i couldnt answer was: The living part of the hair is the fossil i.e the root of the hair. The rest of it is non living just as the nail is. I know this is a silly argument, but rather than arguing I will like to give some proper answers with backings. Is the above true of how the living part of hair is only the fossil. Can you help me with some educative, biological answers. Much Appreciated. Vaheguru ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  13. Vahe Guru Ji ka Khalsa Vahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh Khalsa Ji Examples have been given in our history esp in Sikh history. I am sure you are all aware of what happened to the ppl who committed such hidious crimes. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's punsihed them appropriately And for you lot who understand the following: Loon Ko Khotne Ko Moorakh ko Sodhe ko Danda Pardhan hai. Khalsa Ji - too much time has been wasted in being humble. Wake up. And start fighting for your rights. That's what we have been taught. All I suggest is that learn from our past, and be smart to handle this. Learn from the Western Cops, Catch them red handed, then kick their Bu*t. Once it happens to one, the others would think twice before doing anything like this. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  14. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Can someone please let me know what Nanaksar was it. I mean is which Nanaksar Sant was incharge of it. Thanks Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  16. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Khalsa Ji I think the shabad is: This Shabad is by Guru Raam Daas Ji in Raag Sorath on Pannaa 652 thoo dhaathaa dhaathaar thaeraa dhithaa khaavanaa || http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=2490 As I am not 100% sure, I will see what the others response to this. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  17. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Well there has been some fantastic answers, so I dont need to say anything but here is my 2 pence. Rakhe Vart teh kareh Pakhand Na oho sughan teh nah oho rand. Sorry about the hard words but that is what it is. and I cant remeber where it says: the one who fasts for non religious purpose will end up as gadhi (female donkey) in her next birth - so choice is yours. Khalsa ji Sikhi is kardi - karde ho ke kamayo. h bhul chuk maaf
  18. Khalsa Ji Check the following link: http://www.printroom.com/ViewGalleryPhoto....968&image_id=37 We have seen these things happen time after time. Why cant our senior socities and panthic jathebandis create patents on Sikh Symbols so that people cant misuse our symbols. Sorry getting a bit p***ed off with Sikhi being used on a daily basis for peoples benefits. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  19. WJKK WJKF I have been visiting the local gurudwara (Pk Avenue, Sthall) on Saturday mornings, around 10ish. When it comes to collecting parshad, I noticed that one of the ladies serving parsahd was wearing ring on her finger with the hand that she was serving the parshad. This was about 2/3 weeks ago. I took the parshad, and went to the Giani Ji sitting quite close to her, requesting him in my humble way, that Prashad (a precious thing) should be served without any jewellery on hands, and he should speak with the person serving the parshad. To which the Giani ji said yes they will speak with her. Once again yesterday, the same lady served me the parshad, and I noticed that she was still wearing her ring. To which I took parshad, and humbly requested her that while before serving parshad she should take her ring off, (obviously will have to wash her hands). To shock she quite rudely ignored me telling me off "Kara vi Lah dena chadia pher" (We should take the Kara off or something). to which I said fateh to ler and left. No comments on the person serving or to the Giani or the Gurudwara. 1. When it comes to serving parsahd, we should not have any rings, as the part under the ring doesnt stay clean. Kara is different it moves around, and is not on our hands. 2. The Gurudwara's dont have any codes of conduct or anything to who comes and does what seva. I understand with Sikhi our doors are open to all, but with current times, we should be smarter and more vigilant, to ensure that the Seva, in Gurudwara, in langars is done with full respect. 3. I have been quite distressed by the incident in the Gurudwara. Fiirstly I blame myself, as I not a true Gur Sikh, and still need to walk on the Path of Panth Khalsa. Secondly, that why should I allow something which is not right to happen when it comes to my Guru or Guru Khar. If I blatenly see something going wrong, why do I walk away. May be I need to be more stronger in myself and take a hard stand rather than being polite and diplomatic. Come on Veero, and Bhenji's, What can be done in order to improve what happens in the background at the Guru Khars, I mean in the Kitchen, in other places other than where the Maharaj parkash is.
