  1. Yea I think most people do it once a week, but I do t every 3 or 4 days, I guess I am just a lot cleaner than everyone. joking VJKK VJKF
  2. I really tried to think of one inspiritional quote from the Guru but I couldn't, I seriouly tried and thought about it, because they are all inspiring. From front to back I see nothing but pure inspirition. Thats why I think it is hard for people to reply to this, but here is one quote I have on my computer.

They shave the hair for the child protection? lol Are they kidding, i mean is the hair needle sharp and is going to stab the baby to death. lol . I really really really doubt that women shaved back then, and I mean "200" years ago even. Can you imagine a women in the "caveman" age shaving down there, and the proof that the hair didn't kill the baby is us lol, that humans have come so far without ever needing to shave down there for birth. Fateh!!!
  5. Swimming is very good exercise, and I dont think that your kakkars are stopping you. If you want you can tie the Kirpan on your head, or you can wear it regularly but tuck it in or tie something so it doesnt move. And after you get out of the pool just dry it so that there is no chance it will get rusty. As per the jhooth thing I think those people are just germ freaks.(btw you cant automatically assume that the pool has been urinated in, and if anybody knew it was I dont think they would go in with or without kakkars) Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheugur Ji Ke Fateh

For an example say if a 10 or 12 year old takes Amrit because many do at that age, how can he or she do all the nitnem. Usually they start with japji sahib, and work their way up thought out life. And yes, I belive that nitnem is minimum requirment for Sikhs, but as you know many Sikhs miss their Amritvela, or they dont do all their paat, I am saying that they should work up to it, and do more and more. But I am sorry I made it seem like I was saying it is ok to take Amrit knowing that you will not be able to spend that much time on prayers. As for the Kakkars I believe they are very important, dont get me wrong, I have my kakkar on 24/7, sleeping, basketball, school, I could not live without them. Each kakkar is a religious symbol but is also useful for something, for an example the Kirpan, keep it right infront of me on the shower handle, instead of keeping it on my head. or the kachera I get in the shower take it off, and put it on before getting out, instead of doing one leg in new-one and one leg in old-one strategy as it is still coming off either way. 7. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh I had a similar problem, but what I did was sat down with my parents a day before taking Amrit and told them very seriously that I will take Amrit no matter what and they cant stop me, and told them that this is something I want to do in life, and I thought i was ready. Also I told them what if I died tommorow, and I never got to take part in the Amrit ceremony(i think that one got to them). So just tell your freind to me strong and straight forward.

No, this is completly wrong, firstly sex and giving birth are not sins, she does not have to retake Amrit. Please make her understand this. It is a common practice in Christianity to rebaptize, the Amrit ceremony is when you enter the Khalsa you cant keep entering once you have entered. When you take Amrit its not like you have to be perfect already, being a Sikh is a process of learning. Maybe after taking Amrit you still have vices, but you have to work hard to fight them through life, or say once you take Amrit you only do a little paat, but your goad is to the complete Nitnem that is your goal. Taknig Amrit is a vow to the Guru that you are willing to achieve these goals. Once you become a Sikh you dont rebaptize but you can get pesh(confession). And taking off kakkar doesnt require the retake Amrit(BTW when I take a shower I place my kachera, kanga(if washing hair), Kirpan, and my dastaar near me but I dont have them on my body does that mean I need to rebaptize everyday), or if you commit a Sin you dont need to retake Amrit because you have already given you head to the Guru, just go for pesh(confession). One more thing you have to learn, is that you have to change your self, the Amrit ceremony only inspire you to work toward them. Please make sure you tell the Kaur and remove her (superstitious) beliefs. The Amrit ceremony is not a joke. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheugur Ji Ke Fateh
  9. Very true, many people mistake the word sex with love, but love is so much higher.
  10. Do u mean you need the char sahibzade all in one picture?
  11. lol and you didn't include the Dumalla. your joke has illustrated my point, it not a sport or a fashion item, its a religious symbol (for the Sikhs).
  12. I was not sure if the turban tying contest was ok, (since turban is a religious symbol for Sikhs), but I guess it is acceptabe as long as the youth are learning how to tie the dastaar. ..but I dont I think I can ever accept this......Ratemyturban.com....it makes it seem like the Dastaar is a joke. I know Indians have turban tying contests, since there are so many differnt types of turbans in India, but I think Sikhs should refrain from this because it is a religious symbol for them.
  13. oh so some Sikh are already getting married under Anand Marrige Act in India? I thought people who live in India have to go by the Indian Act, and not the British. Fateh
  14. It is a tough question, becuase it depends on what you believe. Some people never ever take the Kirpan off, even while taking a shower, but then there are others who dont hesitate to take a kakkar off. What do you do when you take a shower?
  15. It seem to me that you guys are saying it is ok to have sex with your partner for recreation, and if that is true then you are probably going to use protection. I dont think that using protection is the Sikh way or the natural way. I doubt men or women used protection when they were first created lol, (I also doubt that men or women cut their hair when they were first created). There is nothing wrong with sex, but what is the purpose of sex? to get pleasure or to create life? If pleaseure is so important then why not turn to drugs, why not use bung(marajuana). I think men and women need to contorl or hold their sexual instincts for when necessary-to create life. VJKK VJKF
  16. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru JI Ke Fateh Thanks for all the advice everyone, it really helped. I cant find the translation either, can anyone translate it? Thank you, Fateh!!!
  17. awwwww no getting arrested, oh well. So how can we put more pressure on our leaders to raise the issue? I think we really need to use manmohan singh for this opportunity(Sikh PM) might not come again ....if that doesnt work I'll get my self arrested
  18. Maybe we can organize a day where thousands of Sikhs all across India get married under some kind of "Anand Karaj" act, and make our own certificates, sooner or later they will have to recognize it. Isn't there anyway I could get married in India, and then get a good lawyer and take it to court? I think it would be a really good idea if this issue could be stressed to the UN. What if we protested by not getting married legally until this problem was solved, I mean we will get married in the Gurdwaras, but no legal documents. I am sure the would get some attention and pablicity. I am sorry I sound like an excited 12 year old kid, but this is really important to me, and it is all up to us. Fateh!!!

  20. Have any ideas of what I can do about it? I am willing to go to extreme measures. I have no problem with getting married in India, or getting arrested, or anything actually lol. Any ideas? and no I am not crazy Fateh!!!
