A person who is starting off in sikhi cant start like this ji. u said urself that eating meat has an effect on a persons spirituality, so why do something that will have a negative effect when ur trying to come into sikhi? why try to push someone into that boat? why not say, ji, we know that its hard, but u need to understand that meat has this effect, and it is because of this effect that our guru ji's have told us to stay away from it. because u dont want the 5 things in ur life, and by not eating meat, u'll help to keep these controlled up to a certain point neway.....

A Sikh does not look at the risks to himself. A Sikh goes to protect those that can not protect themselves. Yea there are a lot of things happening and a lot of risks involved, but there are many people, humans living in Iraq that need help right now. We cant just say leave them be I'm not going to risk it. I think this is one things Sikh's are known for, that they will sacrafice themselves, put themselves in harms way in order to help another human being. sorry if I said something wrong....

Waheguru ji, I dont know much about this Baba ji, but I know that when Baba ji came here to Toronto, he did katha at rexdale gurudwara sahib. However, he got mad at the granthi sahib because the granthi sahib introduced him to the sangat as Bhai Sahib instead of Sant Daljeet Singh Ji. Just another thing to add to the list that the Sangat can use to decide what they think and what they believe. bhul chuk maaf

Thanks All-Info, my thoughts exactly. I didnt see the big deal. I was talking to Aunty ji just now and i was telling her about the poster and she was just shocked to hear. I'm not sure how much you guys have researched this topic, however, I actually had to study this for one of my religious studies classes, what we found was that it costs almost double to keep a person on death row then if they were there to serve a life sentance. they need special facilities, more security etc. etc...... Second for the people who mentioned this above, you are helping to put these guys out of their misery, i mean look at the oklahoma bomber, he got out easy, he was happy to get out of here. Instead of arguing that the current system is not good enough, ie, they are released early therefore the death penalty should be brough in, why not try to make it so that a life sentance means just that, in jail for life. its cheaper then the death penalty, and the person has to live their entire life in a cell wondering why they did what they did. bhul chuk maaf
