  1. My fav and hopefully one I can live by: **** "When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you are smiling and everyone around you is crying." -Anonymous- ****
  2. WJKK WJKF I just recently got back from India, and had a funny experience at darbar sahib as well. We got up early to watch the palki sahib bring guru ji into the darbar. both my husband and I were standing in the darbar when a sevadar came up to me and said u need to get out... when i asked him why, he said i was not experienced enough to stand there..... whatever that means.. so i left and sat outside the darbar. i felt a little upset at the time, but in the end i guess its whatever guru ji's hukum is. And if anyone is going "what??" right now... let me be clear.. he actually used the word "experienced" in his sentence. I found that people there are very pushy. Instead of waiting with patience for their guru they push each other to get ahead . hopefully things will change some time... neway that was my two cents WJKK WJKF
  3. He's such an amazing person! I would suggest that if you get a chance to meet with him personally.
  4. WJKK WJKF, Bhainji, those thoughts are beautiful. I don't have an essay but.... just a few thoughts... When I think of love, in this world, I'm so confused about it, so I wont even touch that aspect of it. When it comes to Guru ji and love though, I know for myself, I feel like a jealous child. I always find myself wondering: why Guru ji doesn't love me as much as the next person? or Why has Guru ji chosen that person, given that person the wisdom to love God so unconditionally? or When is Guru ji gonna put that love in my heart? It's funny that these thoughts come, even though Guru ji tells us, and shows us over and over again, that God does not love one more then the other. All his children are equal to him, still the mind doesn't understand. There are days you just close your eyes and long to feel the love. And it's there, just ... we aren't able to recognize it. We arn't able to accept it. I believe that .. because of the way we view "love" in this world and the way we define love here, we are unable to appreciate and understand the love that Guru ji has for us or the love that we are capable of feeling for Guru ji. Just some foolish thoughts from a confused mind... so if I've said anything wrong, Bhul Chuk Maaf

  10. waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh, bhainji, one of the hardest things to do is to go talk directly to parents. second is to tell people u know. if your not comfortable telling people who you are then post the name of the location and the gurudwara sahib. you are doing so as annon and let the veer here handle this situation as most are willing to. if you know its not just you, then u know that other girls are having similar issues and you never know what how far he may have gone with his harrassment. no one will know who u r, and no one will know that u told. just post the information, maybe a description of the person they will be looking for and lets see if the sangat can find this person as being guilty, then maybe singhs together can approach the committee. bhul chuk maaf Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh

Im not positive about this, however, i did hear a sakhi once where a singh was called out during the middle of his wedding.. well it was during Guru Gobind Singh Ji's time that this singh was called by guru ji right before the 3rd lavaan started, so im guessing that it was done the same way..... bhul chuk maaf

  20. I dont have that article that you are looking for but, just wanted to say, why these guys are so adament about banning all religious stuff, what happened to free speach? if someone is happy with the way they are, and its not offending anyone else then whats wrong with wearing religious items? how is wearing a cross offensive to someone? Its true we need to educate people about Sikhi, but I think now we also need to stand up for others aswell. Yes we are required to wear the 5 kakkar, however, someone who loves their religion, may express it in a certain way, may want to, and yea we arent superstitious but others might be, they may feel that that cross or symbol is a good luck charm for them. a way to remember God for them. Lets educate people about our religion at the same time pointing out that we know everyone has the right to express their religion, and should be able to. Bhul chuk maaf
