no. you don't need to cover your shoulders. if a sikh girl wears just a turban the shoulders aren't covered....

How some *Sikh* NRI'S are bringing shame to our Community

isn't that a bit too extreme? painting all gyanis with the same brush? most are pretty nice guys. at least they're doing parchaar. besides does it say anything about this "man" being a kathavaachak or kirtani? -

exam style questions are helpful, as you have to pass the exam. if you don't know how to write in exams, whats the point having all the knowledge? its nice to know a bit more sometimes, but sticking to the curriculum does help as you have so many other things to remember. i do lots of physical activity, running is one of my faivourite things to do. i play football, rugby, and go for a swim now and then. i used to do karate as well. atoms and the peices in side are amazing. to think those tiny things make huge things and cause things like stars, life and the amazing night sky. the creation of waheguru is truely amazing.

well showing work is baiscally how to pass an exam tips, how to do well, how to write questions properly. for my ISA i was thrown in the deep end for chemistry and physics, the teachers didnt explain what to do and how to do it, so i only got 18/20 on both. in biology i got full marks as the teacher gave hints on how to answer questions and explained what type of questions can come up. most of topics are interesting, really enjoy it. i prefer astrophysics and atoms :D hopefully i can do something like this when im older, or go into medicine :D. AND organising trips to places like CERN and the space centre are really cool, i went to CERN and it fuelled my passion for physics.

respecting and loving someone/something doesn't mean you're worshipping it. we respect the gurus because of their teachings and way of life. the bowing of the head in the east (india) is a sign of respect, people used to bow to kings, so sikhs bow to the guru. also it is like saying my head is yours to the guru. The most important aspect of being a Sikh, is to understand that, there is one endless God."He is indescribable, inestimable, indubitable, infallible, intangible, imperishable, immutable, immortal, immaculate, immanent, unconquerable, unique, formless, fearless, deathless, timeless, ageless, compassionate, omnipresent and creator of all. "There is only the One Supreme Lord; there is no other at all. Spirit, soul and body, all belong to Him; whatever pleases His Will, comes to pass" (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 45). waheguru is in every single being, every atom, god is everywhere. even in us god resides, but it takes meditation and the guru to help us find the light. guru means from darkness to light. the gurus were chosen by the will of god to be the people who will take us from the dark. the gurus had realised god, and they were one. the light of god just shined brighter in guru nanak. as humans we don't know why god chose to do any of this. "The created cannot have a measure of the Creator; what He wills, O Nanak, happens" (GG, 285). i don't know much. if i'm wrong some one tell me!

Lt Gen KS Brar, who led Op Blue Star, attacked in London
TheFancyBanana replied to Sikhistan's topic in POLITICS | LIFESTYLE
just recently sikhs put a case on badal, maybe all the india crew are getting together and saying "these sikhs need to be defamed". this man has security with him 24/7 he lives in a security compound, you really think 4 people would be able to approach him like this. also, how did 4 people not stab him good, what they scratched him did they? if he was stabbed i don't think he'd be able to go to india anyway. maybe the badal gang and GOI want us to look bad. i just heard some person on the radio making khalistani speaches (not saying this is bad), just don't say anything yet, he has done many horrible unforgivable things, just don't hype anything and make sikhs look like hot headed fools. if pro-brar/india people say things like brar is a hero, calmly put down facts about what india and brar did to sikhs, and why sikhs fought back. -
yh.................................................. so, this magic, it might be real. don't worry about it stay away from weird people.

can someone explain the sikh definition of god..? to me it seems like energy.
-
maybe. on topic: http://www.sikhnet.com/pages/tyingturbans.

so in a way, we're like dolls for god and he just plays with us? we have do nothing at all. so whats the point of sending gurus and prophets because god decides who will know him and who wont. even without a prophet people can pray to god.

Amritsar Harmandar sahib seva palki sahib
TheFancyBanana replied to Mrkhalsa007's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
i was at darbar sahib when parkaash was going to happen. i was really close to the palkin. i could touch it. but the amount of pushing and shoving! like a bunch of hooligans. from what i could make out it was first one there :s. maybe they asked before hand. i recomend getting to darbar sahib really early before parkaash.
