  1. LOL i never insulted him, i just said he was there. he was a gurmukh, he probs knew what was gonna happen either way, the panj were predestined from birth and b4.....so like i said.....we should discrimate people because they dont fit the background and gender of the original panj. are people who have jobs other than what the original panj had eligible to become in the panj???why? i thought it was gurus hukam :umm:
  2. im talking about sikhs silly. i assumed the person who asked the question was a sikh. a sikh who disobeys his guru and rejects amrit is obviously not going to sachkhand.
  3. ..........because the panj pyare tell u on the day of amrit that you are liberated from the cycle of life and death? btw if u break ur rehat then u fall back in and have to take amrit again. its not as easy as one would think in keeping the rehat and taking amrit with a pure heart. bhai gurdas says one is only a sikh of the guru once he is baptised. once u do alot of paath n stick to the basic rehat and arent doin any of the 4 bad things its almost certain that u will get a strong yearning to take amrit anyway. there is a rehatnama that says those who pretend to be/call themselves sikh but dont take amrit and follow the code of conduct are moorakhs (fools).......thus amrit is ESSENTIAL for a sikh saackhand (highest level of bliss) is only achieved by htose who are extremely spiritually advanced, and for that amrit is an obvious prerequisite.
  4. its quite simple really. its likely that baba deep singh was in the baisakhi gathering in 1699. why did he not give his head? there were plenty of other gursikhs in the crowd. it was gurus hukam that the particular 5 came up. just because one particular group or type of people did not offer their head forwhatever reason doesnt mean no one else can. maybe all that stressd-ness is making you read stuff funny B) please tell me where guru gave the command that women were banned from giving amrit.
  5. yeh i see your point but it gets u thinkin......at wat point is a pinocchio nose (deformity) just a big nose? where does a deformity that needs to be fixed just become a so called unsightly feature that society has brainwashed u into thinking is "bad"? maybe in some places in the world a big nose is a sign of lots of gyan or something :umm: anyways, im pretty normal looking lol (apart from the fact that i think my eyes change colour, no jokes!) so i dnt really know how it feels to have a deformity of some kind.
  6. baba deep singh was quite probably in the crowd at 1699..... why didnt he come up? does this mean anyone related to the taksal cannot be in the panj or take amrit?
  7. tie ur keski tight, tie ur kirpan w/gatra round it, keep ur kara on (duh) and ur sorted when washing your hair, tie ur keski round ur waist as a belt where u can insert kangha and kirpan. i dont do my hair every morning when i wash it. but i will do soon.
  8. lol i no wot it means but it was called the pyare becuz they were all men please describe why women are incapable of giving amrit. dont say "it was gurus hukam" because everything in sikhi is based on logic. since guruji never explicitly said women cant give amrit, if there is no logical reason then it is just dogma! also, please give me a historical source which shows that women took amrit. if u cant, then shall we assume that women cant take amrit at all? sikhi is a modern religion. it is based on gender equality. if a women is spiritually able, the only reason u are stopping her giving amrit is because u are sexist. any penjis here who want to comment?
  9. just like kirpans are getting smaller, so are karas. is it better to have a 2 inch sarbloh kirpan or a full 12" like akal takht recommend and the gurus had? is it better to have a skinny sarbloh bangle (and if u went back 2 gurus times im sure theyd laugh at it) or a proper sarbloh kara like it was the gurus times? the kara has lost its original purpose now, so its definately inferior to a traditional one!
  10. penji tell us wot u mean exactly by corrective surgery? if u mean eye surgery.......if ur asian i wudnt recommend it cuz asian peoples corneas are much thinner than other peoples so laser surgery is really dodgy for them if u hav bad eyesight there are oriental/yoga exercises to make ur eyesight better! or if u just mean beautifying yourself.....well.....duh.....NO lol
  11. what annoys me is when i go into the kitchen and see monnah women with loooong painted fingernails making my rotis, and their chunnis falling off their head, plus those long uncovered hairs are dangling over the daal, which is inviting them in .......its almost as if they r TRYNA pee me off lol
  12. lol its easy not to eat at mcdonalds, cuz a) the food there isnt vegetarian anyway, including the chips, and B) its kinda skanky anyway!
  13. sunny.....big fat karas were what they had in the old days.....just like nowadays you find these silly tiny little kirpans you couldnt do a thing with, karas have become so tiny (no offence to the kara) that they are looking like girly bracelets......in the gurus times they had massssive ones to block sword strikes....a kara is a war bangle, not some titchy skinny lil thing urmmm meanings of kachere.....purity.....chastity......meant to be the "creator" of the kakkars (i red sumwhere that the kachere kes(ki) and kirpan are a parallel with the hindu gods in kachere as creator like brahma, kes(ki) the sustainer like vishnu and kirpan the destroyer like siva, whilst kara is the link between the earthly and spiritual and kangha is for clenliness of spirit and body).....reminds u of one of the bujjar kurehits.....adultery......also prevents u ever being nanga (unready for battle) and in practical use insulates the leg n region above that, and also allows mobility
  14. just because the taksal was started by the guru doesnt mean that their rehat is 100percent correct and infallible. 1stly, guru ji didnt start the taksal as a jatha you could take amrit from (or i dont think so anyway). it was meant to be a place for learning and missionary activity. 2ndly, what makes you so sure the taksal rehat hasnt changed over time, just like all the other things that have? and i know for a FACT that taksaalis and nihungs keep by sarbloh bibek. theres a bhai daya singh rehatnama that tells us to. and theres a small group of singhs in amritsar i think who dont allow any bahman influence on them and they also keep bibek.
  15. your posts were probably deleted becuz u just posted pages and pages of gurbani which were not relevant and did not show the line in a different light. please read my arguments regarding kuttha then carry on......just keep it short n sharp!
  16. oh and dont forget that bhagat kabeer was a strict vegetarian. therefore its no suprise his bani and insight on the matter was mentioned in SGGS. in some of his bani not in SGGS he says "the hindus do their jhatka and the muslims their halal, but compassion has left them both"
  17. learner singh you are clearly not learning much. i love it when people use the "taking the shabad out of context" excuse and then quote teh whole shabad and find it still has the same meaning :umm: :umm: :D there is a very simple way to prove that meat is not allowed. in guru ki sakhian for 10th guru there is a bhatt vehi account of vaisakhi. this is decided on by all scholars to be the most reliable source available. do you agree so far? in this account the bhatt says that "KUTTHA" was banned for sikhs. do we agree? what is kuttha? people generally believe it means halal. but to follow others is sheepish. what is the most accurate and best preserved documentation we have from guru jis times? guru granth. do we agree? how could we find out what kuttha means? by analysing the vocabularly used in the granth. agreed? so quoting the shabads as bhai sahib mkhalsa did (and you ignored) lets have a look at what guru ji says: In Gurbani the word "Kuthha" as well as "Kohna" have been used at a number of places in this sense: Paap Karendar Sarpar Muthey. Ajraeel Pharrey Phar KUTHHEY. (pg. 1019) The sinner will certainly be ruined or destroyed. The angel of dea th will seize and kill them. (Here the word "kuthhey" means simply killing, not killing by Halaal) Bed Parhey Mukh Mitthee Baani Jeeaan KUHAT Na Sangey Paraanee. (pg. 201) He (Pandit) recites the Vedas very sweetly, but he does not hesitate to kill life. Abhakhya Ka KUIHHA Bakra Khanaa Choukay Upar Kisey Na Jaanaa. (pg. 472) They eat the meat obtained while uttering the unspeakable word (referring to Qalima of the Muslims which the Hindus considered as unspeakable) and allow none to enter their kitchen square. the quote itself in english is IRRELEVANT. in the FIRST passage, the verb KUTTHEY is used. this stems from the noun kuttha. agreed? KUTTHEY in this context means killed. it does NOT mean hallalify or kill by muslim rites. therefore we can see that KUTTHA means KILLED literally, or DEAD FLESH/KILLED BEING/CARCASS. ALL scholars, including the khalsa consensus translation, agree that kutthey means to kill rather than to hallalify. so we agree if KUTTHEY means kill, then KUTTHA means killed carcass, yes? im glad we agree. you can forget everything you quoted, because SGGS is very cryptic. to try and prove a point you have mostly quoted places where the guru has asked a question to teh reader or got him to think. by following your logic, the end of akal ustat would totally negate teh basics of sikhi because guruji asks us a huge number of open ended questions to focus our gyan (or lack of) on. by looking at simple language and grammar, and not analysing the more complex and rhetorical shabads, it is blatantly obvious that gurbani is telling us what kuttha is. kuttha is more of a muslim/persian word i THINK. go and ask a muslim what it means, and he will ALWAYS say the same thing. any type of meat. it is because selfish undisciplined people have made the notion of kuttha being halal widespread is why there is such a lapse of rehat in this area. why would banda singh bahadur, who was given POLITICAL LEADERSHIP of the KHALSA by GURU GOB IND SINGH give a clear HUKAMNAMA also to the khalsa, ordering them not to eat meat also? meat isnt a little thing in sikhi, a case of its orite either way.....its a big thing!
  18. n30 singh i know there are "historical" accounts of that......but where do they come from......janamsakhis? there are dodgy janamsakhis which say that guruji was actually a muslim. wh mcleod, despite talking alot of rubbish, raised important points that the janamsakhis were not all so reliable. guru hargobind would not give a command when in the future it would be invalid. guru ji is ALL KNOWING. no guru contradicted another because they were ALL the same. to imply that earlier gurus teachings are not relavent because sikhi changed with time is like the monneh saying that kesh is not needed cuz times have changed.
  19. no offence but it pees me off when ppl say kara/kirpan arent weapons and just symbolic.....reminds me of those US sikhs who make their "kirpans" little symbols round their neck LOL sikhi is a warrior religion.....not a thug/vandal religion....theres a difference....ive never heard of a singh misusing his kirpan, but either way, guruji made us a warrior race and we cant change that.... if i ran out of shahsters id suffocate my enemy with me kechere hahaha
  20. im not going to get married. it wud weigh me down in my "activities" later in life....ppl hu know me a little will know what i mean :umm: ) yeh seriously though, dont think about it too much. youll be lucky if you find a dastar walla singhnee these days, never mind someone outgoing, proper sarbloh bibeki, nature lover or what ever else lol
  21. after ur amritdhari and u keep bibek, every time u eat out of sarabloh cuz the batta is made out of it, it was like when u take amrit from the batta filled with amrit......hence when u are at a high spiritual level, eating food which a gursikh has prepared from sarabloh is like taking a "mini" amrit......and alot of bliss is derived from it....... at our low manmukh stage tho, there isnt much point only eating out of sarabloh. for me, im gonna try and conquer amritvela first :umm:
  22. wud u just spark sum1 with it with ur fist or cud u hit them with ur wrist where the kara is (that might bust up ur wrist if u havent conditioned it).....cuz i got a massive hevy sarbloh kara.....n its so hevy it slows down me punches a bit and when i do a jab or a cross it sorta flies forward on my arm and hits my wrist hand :umm:
  23. realistically, nothing will happen. most "gur"sikhs dont fight and have never tried, the skilled amritdharis and gurmukhs would never go as far as stabbing someone, and its most likeley to be left to a couple of drunk monneh who will end up beating up a few muslims, then drinking a bit more, then waking up in a pile of their own mess the next morning....... on the other hand , u have organised pakis who go in big groups, brainwashin ppl n beating up kiddies. im not sure which side is more messed up.....
  24. Peeps make a much bigger deal out of it then they need to...... Its not like some crazy massive amount of stubble grows out that makes ur legs grow black, all it is, is a little bit of very fine, soft hair. Ive got madly hairy legs (Im a boy btw) and its not like girls get that much. The natural form of a human is beautiful, yeh obviously its not whats on the outside that counts, but alot of ppl make out that if u dont cut ur hair u are butters, which is 100percent not true Just chill.
