  7. Well Sant Gurbachan Singh Jee said he was the Jathdaar, as you yourself have said, you won't find all our history in books as most is Seena Baseena. If Taksali's are no-body to question the Dal-Panth Maryada, then what gives you the right to question who was and was not Mukhi of Damadami Taksaal? Don't be hypocritical, either don't question other samparada's, and if you do, don't be offended when they question yours!
  8. "bk 4 lyfe", why have you removed any reference to Sikhi Camp in your original post?!? And then we wonder why there's no panthic ekta!!! we've made Jathbandia into the new Castes.
  9. this is a really good uprala to teach sangata how to recite Gurbani correctly!

  13. http://www.emgonline.co.uk/news.php?news=2332 Turban Tying Competition For Young People At Gurdwara In Oadby, Leicestershire, U.K To mark the 300th Anniversary of the conferring of the Guru ship to the Sikhs’ eternal guru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Sahibzade, the Punjabi Listeners’ Club are organising a Turban Tying Competition for young people at the Sri Guru Har Krishan Sahib Gurdwara, 48 Kenilworth Drive, Oadby, Leicestershire, U.K. on Saturday 27th December 2008 from 1.00 pm to 5.30 pm . The competition is open to girls and boys and divided into three group: Up to 7 years; 8 to 13 years; 14 to 18 years with the winners and runners-up in each age group being awarded with special trophies. Everyone taking part in the competition will receive something. www.emgonline.co.uk the first daily Asian Online Newspaper in UK are proud to contribute towards the cost of the 14-18 years age groups’ trophies: local football club FC Khalsa, Leicester from the Senior League are contributing to the cost of the trophies for 8 –13 years age group; a three monthly international magazine SANJH from Ludhiana, Punjab, India which has poems and writings by poets, authors etc. living in the three Punjabs – Punjab in India, Punjab in Pakistan and the Punjab living abroadare contributing to the cost of trophies for the youngest group. A film on Sikhism is to be shown to all competitors to enhance their knowledge before the young people start tying their turbans with the younger group taking part first and the 14-18 years age group being last. The Turban Tying Competition is free to enter, competitors to bring their own turbans. Mirrors will be provided by the Gurdwara. Those who wish to bring their own mirrors can do so. Time taken to tie the turban will be noted which will assist the judges whose decision will be final. Turban is one of the most distinguishing symbols of Sikhism and the Sikhs have had to fight major court case to be allowed to wear it at place of work and wear it instead of the helmet. As well as keeping you warm in cold weather it is also beneficial when the temperature is high. There is a lot of excitement among the young people about this competition particularly among the Oadby Gurdwara’s Punjabi School which has become immensely popular that classes are now held every weekday in the evenings. Representatives from Leicestershire Constabulary are expected to attend the programme where there is likely to be a number of organisations from the Punjabi media as well as the local newspaper. The special guests are the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council Councillor Jill Gore and the Mayor’s Consort Colin Gore.
  14. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Some really good posts gone up, particurlarly by Humkire.... we need to create that pyaar, relationship with the wider sangat, so what if they aren't following the path, how many of us are TRULY are following the path? I've recently been reading "The Game of Love" vaheguroo.... this book needs to be bought and needs to be read by everyone and anyone (so much inspiration)....there are so many examples of Great Gursikhs from the last 30/40years who have had such an amazing effect on ppl around them just by staying in their house, or doing some sort of sangat with them...how did they have this effect? by having a jeevan worthy of someone advocates the true principles of Sikhi.. i've gone off the point a bit but we have to be that inspiration for other people, I've been inspired by so many Singh's/Singhneeya, so you can imagine how people might be inspired by you walking down the street but you dont understand that, you dont realise that someone might be thinking, WOW, i wish i could be like that, i wish i could tie a dastaar like that, i wish i could be proud enough to wear my sri saahib... but that person may never get to realise those things because they havent spoken to you....you haven't looked in their direction and smiled... we fundementally have to stop differentiating ourselves from people....we are meant to be the dust of everyones feet, which you can't be by thinking, "your a monah, i aint talking to you" (or along those lines!)... i'm just rambling on and haven't made any sense......im just hungry and on my lunch break! Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  15. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh, Can the sangat in slough tell me if Bhai Charanjeet Singh is still doing santhiya @ Singh Sabha Guroodwara?? or has this been moved? Vaheguroo Jee kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh!!
  16. Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh!! the air india bombers? bhai sahib are we saying now that they were guilty?? the two singhs were cleared of any wrong doing, a court of law proved so... Like Dabinderjit Singh said in the article, when you've had your mother and father killed, and there is no justice, you find it hard to condemn the person for picking up arms...are we not taught by our Guroo that it is righteous to pick up the sword if all other means have failed? Is that not what the shaheeds of our panth did? Im not trying to cause an arguement or anything along those lines at all...just purely trying to drive constrtuctive debates... we do need to work on our answers, and what better place to establish those answers than within the sangat...we need to do more parchaar of say the Anandpur Sahib resolution...taking the focus off '84 because automatically the public will link '84 with "terrorist" activities...we need to draw peoples attention to the fact Sikhs still arent recognised as Sikhs in the Indian Constitution and win people....this will create the history and more importantly facts behind '84... Vaheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fatheh!!
