  1. I personally think that in such scenario, a person should go for chemotherapy... Maharaj kirpa, I have never had such scenerio of anyone I know in my life - but should it happen, I do not think that question would even arise. Chemotherapy every time. One could always ask the Panj Pyares because at the end of the day, that is where the buck stops but I personally doubt they they would say that one should refuse chemotherapy treatment due to a side effect.
  2. What these words mean is offensive HOWEVER in today's society, they are not always used in the correct context and are not meant to mean what the word means (If you get that). They are often used to 'big' someone up - To me, calling someone a b*dass m*therf***er is similar to saying they are a Strong Person who will take no crap.
  3. Lighten up a bit, This guy is a Christian and shows a lot of respect of Sikhi and Baba Deep Singh Ji (albeit in his own way)... I thought the article was pretty cool - yes he is using bad language but the underlying message is that Baba Deep Singh Ji was a Puran Sant Siphai :D
  4. I know that in 1993, Khalistan was accepted as a full member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO). UNPO raises awareness of members internationally and allows UNPO members to participate in international dialogue. It also maintains close relations with the United Nations and the European Union, supporting participation of its Members in international forums. Through UNPO, Members have opportunities to present their cases to international bodies such as: the United Nations Human Rights Council, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and European Union institutions. That sounds great, and we were members as Khalistan... However, looking through the UNPO website now - it seems Khalistan is no longer a member. Does anyone know why?

    Kachera Rehit

I'm sure that question has come up before so you may want to search for it. But no, in them circumstances, you would not completely remove your kachera.

    Smoking

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was once riding with his Sikhs when he suddenly stopped his horse and after dismounting proceeded to rip out a wild tobacco plant. The Sikhs asked why the Guru had ripped the plant out and the Guru replied that the Sikhs should avoid alcohol as it destroys a generation but tobacco destroys several generations. The Guru then forbade his Sikhs to ever use tobacco. Early European writers who came across the Sikhs in the 1780's were perplexed as to why tobacco was forbidden for the Sikhs as tobacco was being widely used by both the British and the Indians at that time. Of all the Nations that the Europeans came into contact with the Sikhs were the only one who had a religious injection against tobacco. Only in 1950 when Morton Levin published his study into the connection between lung cancer and smoking did any governments take notice. According to the World Health Organization report of 1995 worldwide lung cancer is the biggest single cause of cancer deaths in men. Smoking causes approximately 3 million deaths worldwide and if current trends persist it will kill 10 million a year from 2020. Smoking causes about 20.5% of all deaths in developed countries. These are frightening statistics but the biggest tragedy is that smoking is the single largest preventable factor in premature death, disability and disease. These effects of smoking are not limited to the smokers themselves but to those around them. Family, friends and even complete strangers in the smoker's vacinity suffer. Smoking while pregnant has been linked to sudden infant death syndrome (cot death), bronchitis, pneumonia and higher risk of miscarriage (The Guru had said that tobacco would destroy several generations) Full article at: http://www.sikhs.org/art9.htm

    Kachera Rehit

While you are showering you can just loosen your kachera and wash and then tie it back up... When you are done, dry your top half, then when your going to dry mid section, then you can drop your kachera down to ankles and dry yourself. You can here tie the towel round yourself so essentially you always covered up. Then while keeping one foot in kachera jump into your new kachera. When you got it all tied up you can then remove your towel and dry your lower legs/ankles. That's how I do it anyway.

The question you need to ask yourself is: What's more important... my appearance or my religion? And that's it, its either one or the other and only you can answer that question and make the decision... But do not forget that you made a promise before Guru Ji at your Amrit Sanchar to live according to His Will and the Rehat stated. You submitted everything including your dhan man dhan (body, mind and wealth) before your Guru, remember your promise to give your head. It is not a decision that should be made lightly. My advice to you would be to stay strong and do Ardaas for the strength to carry on and to live according to His Hukam/Will.
  11. I am surprised that no-one has asked what type of website it is for... The type of website you want to create would totally determine what type of CMS (Content Management System) would be best to use. There are loads out there and many cater for different type of websites (e-commerce, blog, shopping, multimedia, basic website etc). If you want to let us know what type of website you are trying to make, we could give you a much better suggestion of what type of CMS would be best for you to use, rather than a random guess. Thanks...
  12. Spot on Mehtab... And... 13 = Tera... Sums up what our thinking should be Friday = weekends coming, no work :D
  13. VJKK VJKF... Just thought it would worth letting the sangat know tomorrow will be 62 years since the birth of Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale on February 12th 1947.
  14. I think it is important to understand the reasons we do various acts like Parkaash (and nearly everything else). Lack of knowledge is probably the main reason most people begin to have doubts when questioned by others. Its what 'groomers' rely on to get conversions... And SinghIsKing - its probably just a typo in your post but you should correct it. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has 1430 Ang.
  15. Not sure about all the background but can definately remember reading about/hearign about him stating to Rajiv Ghandi in 1984 that 'we have to teach the bastards a lesson`. Quite sure that this issue was bought back into the limelight through various Sikh News articles just last year.
  16. He is the only real donkey 'sikh' :v2: What I do not get is that how can he chat sooo much crap and manage to keep a straight face?
  17. First and foremost it would be :hit and :kick Seriously though... I'm not a parent or even married for that matter, but I would like to think that if your children are bought up being taught the values, history, essence of Sikhi - I do not think this matter would ever arise. Maybe I am wrong - but I think that if someone who had pyaar for Sikhi, would not risk their future children Sikhi and their future childrens childrens Sikhi by getting into a mixed marriage where Sikhi would not the most important thing.

  19. All of our kakaars have spiritual and practical benefits. In my opinion, having a Silicone kara (albeit with a metallic painted finish) defeats many of the benefits of a sarbloh kara. I have never had to remove my Kara in my life. I have however often worn a sweat band over it during contacts sports. Now with Maharaaj's kirpa, I have been gifted with 5 kakaar and just as I would not remove my Kirpan to swap it with a silicon/wood/plastic one, neither would I remove my Kara or swap with a silicon/wood/plastic one. However, each to their own and it is a personal choice but that's just my view.
  20. Surely using your family name/surname and believing in caste/being proud of your caste are 2 totally different things?
