  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Very inspiring Sandeep Kaur. This hair we have didn't come cheap...ALOT of blood got shed for it. Thats why we can't let those Shaheedis go to waste... You're right, we waste too much time putting things off...now is the time to change our lives...tomorrow might come come... Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Easy question!...the reason keeping hair is so important is because Guru Ji told us to keep our hair...period. We don't need to question these kind of things, whatever Guru Ji says is the Truth, and we do whatever Guru Ji says. When Guru Nanak Dev Ji told Bhai Lehna (Guru Angad Dev Ji) to eat a dead body, Bhai Lehna didn't question Guru Ji or ask him "why do i have to eat a dead body?"...all he said was, "which part of the body should i eat first?" We shouldn't question our Guru Ji's Hukam...even if there is only strand of hair left on your head, we cherish it, and will rather die then to cut it off. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh! Singh...nice site! I like your poetry...deep stuff, really makes you think. Keep up the good work. ps- it was nice meeting you in vancouver....you tie a CRAZY Dumalla! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I wrote the following in a different thread, and i just wanted to have a peaceful discussion with the Sangat about what is going on with us these days. We have no unity, we just spend our time fighting...why can't we realize the effects this is happening on our Sikhi? Whats wrong with the Panth?....according to my beliefs...we have too much ego (including me). We think we are right and all others are lost. Do you think that people who have different views than you on certain matters, are purposely trying to go to against Sikhi? No..they really believe with their hearts and souls that they what they are doing is right. Personally...i think we should follow the Rehat the Panj Piaray told us, and and when we meet someone who has different views, we should remember one thing... These Gursikhs gave their heads to Guru Ji, just like you did, they are following the Rehat given to them by the Panj Piaray, just like you do...We must learn form our mistakes: when we argue with each other about Rehat, nothing gets resolved, we just put our Sikhi on hold, and fill ourselves with ego and anger. We could spend that time and energy towards something so much more useful such as Naam Simran, reading Gurbani, having Gurbani Vichars etc...things we actually came on earth to do. So it is my request that we stop arguing over everything, because not only are we effecting our Sikhi, but we are also effecting the Sikhi of many others. Remember, we all have the same goal, and that is: to become one with God. We have all given our heads to Guru Ji, and he is our Father...a Father never likes to see his children fight with each other, so why do we do it?
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I would like to apologize to the Sangat for starting this thread. If you go back and read the initial post, you will see that i was not trying to start a debate...i just wanted to share something that a Gursikh with so much Piar told me. I know its not good to praise someone so much but, this Gursikh's Nitnem consists of 7 Banis, Asa Di //, Sukhmani Sahib, and ALOT of other Gurbani, and of course Simran 24/7... What he was talking about was how people argue with others saying "we are right, you are wrong"..."this is our jatha, and you are different"...he just sees God in EVERYTHING. I should have been smarter before starting this thread and i sort of forgot that WE LOVE TO FIGHT. WE LOVE CONTROVERSY. IF THERE WASN'T ANY, ALOT OF US PROBABLY WOULDN'T EVEN GO ON MESSAGE BOARDS....these days we can't even share beautiful things that Gursikhs have told us about the Oneness of God throughout His creation, without getting into a fight. Whats wrong with the Panth?....according to my beliefs...we have too much ego. We think we are right and all others are lost. Do you think that people who have different views than you on certain matters, are purposely trying to go to against Sikhi? No..they really believe with their hearts and souls that they what they are doing is right. 6. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! AKJFOREVER: YOU SAID: You mean you didn't take Amrit from the Panj Piaray? You are not supposed to say you took Amrit from AKJ, Taksal, Sant ______ , etc..etc... The Panj Piaray gave you Amrit....PERIOD. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I was talking to a very spiritual Gursikh who i have always had ALOT of respect for. The topic about Jathabandis came up and he said something so beautiful, and i wanted to share it with the Sangat... He said that people get involved in their 'jathas' and they get absorbed in them, and they never see the 'big picture'...He then said, if you ask a True Gursikh, "What Jatha are you a part of?" or, "Who is in your jatha?", his answer should be... "The whole world is my jatha, because i see God in everyone" Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I don't think the French Sikhs actually believe that the Dastar is cultural and not religious. However, at this point they are doing whatever it takes to be able to wear the Dastar, and if it means trying to find a 'loop-hole' in this messed up Kalijug enriched society, then thats what they gotta do. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I thinks it is best to wear Bana as much as possible. We are Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sons and daughters, and Guru Ji is so great, and just like how people see their 'role models' on TV and try to be like them, and dress like them...well Guru Ji is more than a role model...he is our Father, our life. We should have a desire to be like HIM. I was talking with a very spiritual Sikh recently and was told that Guru Ji gets really happy when we wear Bana, and the more we get 'decked out' with Shastars, Chakars, Khandas, nice Dastar etc..etc..the more Guru Ji gets happy. Don't think of it as dressing up for people to see you and say 'whoa, look at him/her"...but rather think of it as getting dressed up for Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and you want to look your best for Him. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! what i do is this...after washing my Dhari while showering, i put some almond oil in my palm, and then apply it to my Dhari and spread it all around, right down to the roots...then i run some water over my dhari. This way it doesn't get really oily, but rather soft and un-dry (is that a word?)...but don't use too much almond oil or else you'll be getting it all over your phone!!! also, right after you finishing showering use a 'dhari brush' (ya they actually exist!) Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! The reason that people call it a 'Taksali Kirpan' is because it is made by Singh's affiliated with the Damdami Taksal. These Kirpans are good because they are made according to Maryada (all Sarbloh). They are also very durable and last a long time. These Kirpans are made in Bhinder Kalaa and Metha. It is easy to spot the differences in the two if you look at them closely. The ones made in Bhinder Kalaa have more work put into them: the handle has contoured edges for better grip, and there is usually kadia on both sides)...the Bhinder Kalaa ones also cost more. There is no such thing as Kirpans made for a certain 'jatha'...but rather these Kirpans are made for Khalsa as a whole...it's just a fact that the Kirpans made by Taksal are hand-made, are dependable, and can be sharpened nicely, unlike those factory-made ones with "stainless steel' engraved on them, that can't even be sharpened, the blade can easily fall off, and in general, are not very good for practical use. ps- i've never heard of 'AKJ Kirpans' before, which Kirpans are those? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! its not that there weren't any replies to it...replies aren't even expected on a thread that has a link to some site...its just that the 1st time i posted, there were 60 views in 24 hours. I posted it with the new title just over 1 hour ago, and there are almost 90 views already. I'm not trying to rack up the views or anything!!!...i just think i didn't put a good title the 1st time, which represented what the post was about... Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  13. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! haha!...ya daughter i did post it...but, tell you the truth, alot of people just see 'nihang' on the title, and don't bother looking at it. But, we can learn alot about Nihang Singhs and their views on Gatka, Gupt Fauj etc... (also, i remeber there was a 'Gupt Fauj' thread a little while ago...sorry for the double post...) Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  14. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Here's a link to Katha about many different topics by Nihang Singh Baba Nihal Singh...he talks about Gupt Fauj, Dumalla Maryada, Gatka as well as many other topics such as Bana, and Khalsa Raj. http://www.panthkhalsa.org/BabaNihalSinghJi/index.html Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! 15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! The story about the Singh in the Sarovar was told to me by a very Chardi Kala Singh. I'm just sharing it, i don't know how long ago it happened. However, some people very quickly dismiss these sort of things, saying "there's no way someone can spend 3 days in the Sarovar"...well...Baba Deep Singh fought with his head cut off, and Bhai Taru Singh's Kes became as hard as iron when zakria khan's men tried to cut them...but a Gursikh doing an Akhand Paat Sahib in the Sarovar is not beleivable? i don't mean any offence to anyone...it's just that as time goes on, we start to believe less and less about these things happening, because we have it in our heads that, "those things only happened in the Guru's time"...but it is still the 'Guru's time", and always will be. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

  17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Once Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhinderwale was about to go to sleep, and he accidentally knocked over a Gutka Sahib, and it fell on the ground. From what i have heard from many sources is that he immediately began an Akhand Paat Sahib...and did the whole Paat all by himself!!! continuously...no sleeping, no eating!!! thats Chardi Kala!!! Another story...i heard about this when I went to India in the summer...A SIngh went to the Sarovar at Harimander Sahib for ishnan. He went in and began to do the Mool Mantar...and just kept going...did Japji Sahib, kept going until...he recited the whole Guru Granth Sahib Ji!!!...all from heart!!! He spent several days in the Amrit Sarovar, and when he came out...people noticed that his foot was all eaten up to the bone...all the flesh was eaten up by a fish, but he didn't even notice it because he was so absorbed in Gurbani!!! Thats Cahrdi Kala!!! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! i was listening to Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhinderwale's Katha, and he said that when Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa (12th Jathedar of Damdami Taksal) was only seven years old, he was a regular Akhand Paati, and he recited Paat with unbelievable accuracy.... man...at seven years old, i barely knew my own name!
  19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Mr Singh... the khopree was not saved after cremation. It was put into the river along with the other bones. People just wanted to have a look. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I don't think anyone tampered with it because this has been going on for as long as people can remember in our village in india, and probably many other villages. They say every khopree has this on it. I'm not saying that it is the layka written, i just don't know. It could be some sort of natural occurance caused by heat, but it really made me wonder because Guru Granth Sahib Ji has many references to 'destiny written upon forehead' Amardeep Singh, all of the videos i made in india are in a diferent city right now, but i will be visiting there for New Years, and bring back the tape and upload it. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Gurbani mentions alot about 'destiny written upon the forehead'...what does this mean? I know it might have some sort of metaphorical meaning, but...when i was india in april of this year, my grandfather passed away. A couple days after the funeral, the whole family went back to the place where the funeral pyre was set, to take the bones/ash out and put them in the river. I was filming everything with a camcorder, while some of my family members were picking up the bones and putting them in a vessel. They kept saying, "find the kopree (forehead)"...after a while one person started yelling "i found it!"...and everyone gathered around to get a look. I asked one of my family members what the big deal was about the forehead plate (front part of skull)...and he said that a person's destiny is written on it. I almost laughed inside, and thought it was some sort of punjabi myth...but after they put me in the front to make a movie, i was kind of confused...this may sound weird, but it seemed like there was some sort of writing engraved in it....and it was very clear. It looked kind of like muslim writing, but it wasn't...and it had curved lines, staright ones, as well as little dots. I thought it was probably some sort of heat related cracks, but it was weird how these lines were only on the forehead, and they really looked like written words (curved lines etc.).... Does anyone know anything about this? At first i just thought it was just a natural occurrance, caused by excessive heat, but i don't know for sure, i am usaully skeptical about these sort of things. Has anyone else heard of this before?...i know it says in Gurbani quite a bit about 'destiny written upon the forehead'...but is it metaphorical or could it be meant literally? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Khalistani: i know you asked Kulpreet Singh how Christianity and Islam were once like Sikhism. I would like to share something i have read about, and seen on TV... Did you know that Jesus Christ would wake up at Amritvela, cover His Head, and do Simran? It says in the Bible, that the disciples of Jesus would wake up in the middle of the night, and find Jesus absorbed in God's prayers, with His head covered...I also believe that Jesus did not cut His Hair (because Nazarians did not cut their Hair, and Jesus was Nazarian)...i also think he wore a Turban (i have heard it says in the Bible...but not sure)...also, this is kind of my own thinking...but in the movies about Christ, everyone wore turbans except Jesus...maybe this was so viewers could tell who Jesus was? I think that many religions have gotten altered because people began to change things to fit their own lifestyles. *NOTE* THESE ARE VIEWS I HAVE EITHER READ ABOUT OR SEEN ON TV....THEY MAY NOT BE ACCURATE Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Wow, Kulpreet Singh! That was EXTREMELY well said! I think a True Gursikh would never slander others the way we do. A True Gursikh is humble and talks little. A True Gursikh sees God in everyone and would be scared to death to talk bad about someone. A True Gursikh considers himself the biggest sinner in the world, and feels that he/she has no right to judge people's views, because True Gursikhs consider everyone to be better than them. True Gursikhs don't force people to follow their views, because isn't that exactly what certain Muslims tried to do to our Gurus? These certain Muslims didn't do that because they wanted to be evil, it was because their ego for their views got so big that they felt that only they were right, and everyone else was wrong. True Gursikhs are so full of love, that they couldn't be mean, or hurt someone's feelings even if they tried. We all want to be True Gursikhs, and it's not a easy path...but we must get a good start. If we start on this path, full of hate and ego, then we won't make it very far. Kulpreet Singh, i would like to thank you for writing such a beautiful thread, hopefully it will help us change our views about being quick to judge people, without looking at ourselves first. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  24. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! ya, the beats are off...they don't match the flow of the singing...i think the music needs to be sped up or something. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  25. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Here's a nice site, which has questions and answers about Sikhism...these aren't just basic simple questions either, some of them get into more deeper things such as Simran, etc....i really liked Section II in particular...but it's all really good. Good place to send people who want to know more about Sikhism. http://www.sikhpoint.com/religion/intro2si...ikhhism_faq.asp Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
