  1. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Who Ruled His People's Hearts By K. K. Khullar During my visit to Pakistan in 1983 I was pleasantly surprised to find that the people there regarded Ranjit Singh as "their" king in whose reign Punjab regained its lost glory. The guide at Lahore Fort described Ranjit Singh as the bravest and the most benevolent king of the 19th century. He said that the Punjab peasantry still remembered the king in whose rule the strong were just and the weak secure. A book entitled "The Real Ranjit Singh" by a Pakistani historian, Syed Fakeer Waheeduddin, the great grandson of Fakeer Azizuddin, Maharaja's Foreign Minister, brings out the secular character of the Maharaja giving very intimate facts based on family records and archives. According to the book the Maharaja is fondly remembered by one and all, not only by people who once lived there but also by those who still reside there. Even during his conquests he was regarded more as a liberator than a conqueror as at Peshawar, Multan or Kashmir. Wherever the soldiers of Ranjit Singh went they were treated as friends, not foes. Maharaja's standing orders to his armies were that during their movement, no religious place, no religious book, no place of learning, no standing crop was to be destroyed and no woman dishonoured. Capital punishment was abolished. "Never was so large an empire built with so little criminality", says Princep. The Maharaja is not known to have taken anybody's life although his own life was attempted at more than once. His special care for the 'Kisan' (farmer) and the 'Jawan' (soldier) made Punjab a very livable place. The result was that people from Delhi, UP and Rajasthan came and settled in Punjab. George Keene, a very keen observer of the Punjab scene, states: "In hundreds and in thousands the orderly crowds stream on. Not a bough is broken of a wayside tree, not a rude remark to a woman". Writing sixty years after the Maharaja's death, Griffin said: " His name is a household word in the province. His portrait is preserved in the castle and in the cottage alike." Jacquemont, the French botanist who came from Paris to Punjab in search of roses and who met the Maharaja, said, "His conversation is a nightmare. He passes from one subject to another with the speed of a tornado. He remembers by heart the names of all the villages of his empire, the village heads, the cash crops, the flora and the fauna." He was a modern mind unfettered by nationalities, religion and faiths, an internationalist who looked much beyond his frontiers. The French visitor called Ranjit Singh "the first inquisitive Indian" who completely identified himself with the joys and sorrows of his people. Magnanimous to the fallen foe and generous to the injured and the insulted, Ranjit Singh was the last Indian king in whose reign the common man felt real freedom. The repartee and the freedom of speech that existed in the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh could be the envy of any parliamentary forum. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was one of those rare rulers who remained humane even on the battlefield. He possessed an informal yet a disciplined mind, with a hilarious yet an equable temperament, humorous yet not given to levity. A man of unusual presence of mind and exceptional balance, he could surprise even the wittiest Westerner. When Dr. Joseph Wolffe asked the Punjab ruler what was the easiest way to reach God, the shrewd king replied: "By immediately concluding an alliance with the East India Company!" His retorts were gentle, his humour pungent. A son of the soil, his humour was an integral part of the Punjabi character. Like all Punjabis he loved the banter and burlesque, yet suffered no fools. When his Muslim wife formerly a courtesan, asked him where he was when the God Almighty was distributing beauty, the Maharaja twinkled his only eye and said: "I had gone in search of a kingdom." And what a great kingdom he established. During his 40-year rule there was not a single communal riot in his kingdom, no forced conversion, no second-class citizenry, no disrespect to a shrine or a mosque. On the other hand he donated several mounds of gold for the Vishwanath Temple at Benares and Saraswati Mandir at Kurukshetra. He gave liberal grants to mosques and the Madarsas (Muslim schools). He was a far-sighted man who made many Punjabis learn English. He established the first printing press in Gurmukhi (Punjabi language script) at Lahore. He respected talent and asked the Punjabi traders to go abroad and trade with other nations. He thus freed Punjab from the slavery of eight centuries, brought peace and prosperity to the land of five rivers. The ravaged fields smiled once again, Punjab once again became the cherished "golden sparrow". Maharaja Ranjit Singh had a tender heart. He released the young cub, which he had caged with care. Asked why he said: "The lioness, the cub's mother, had been crying and wailing throughout the night. I could not bear the cries of a mother." Nobody could shoot a sailing swan or hurt a singing nightingale. With the onset of Monsoon he would order a 102-gun salute to the rising moon. No king anywhere had done it before or ever since. The Indian Prince of Hyderabad, the Nizam, extended his hand of friendship to him and sent enormous gifts. The Kings of Nepal, Burma, the Czar of Russia and the Emperor of France wanted their embassies to be established at Lahore. When Fakeer Azizuddin, Maharaja's emissary, was asked by Lord Auckland at Simla which of the Maharaja's eyes was missing", he replied: "The Maharaja is like the Sun. Sun has only one eye. The splendour and the luminosity of his single eye is so much that I have never dared to look at the other eye!" Lord Auckland was so pleased with the reply that he gave his wristwatch to Maharaja's emissary as a present. No wonder that when he fell seriously ill in the summer of 1839 there were continuous prayers, non-stop recitations in the temples, the mosques and the Gurudwaras for the recovery of their own 'Badshah' (King). On 27th June, 1839, he breathed his last. He died 159 years ago. But he is still the ruler of the mind of Punjab, nay the whole of India.
  2. Click on the comments below the title below, very interesting feedback from the Pakistani readers. Ranjit Singh : The Quintessential Indus Man June 29th, 2009 | 42 Comments By Yasser Latif Hamdani Today (29th June) is the 170th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Bismarck of Punjab and Pakhtunkhwa, whose great Indus state was the forerunner of Pakistan. Narrowminded ideologues – writing in the aftermath of bitter communal bloodletting accompanying the birth of Pakistan- have not been able to fully appreciate the significance of this great statesman to the state of Pakistan. If they were to apply their minds to the history of the Punjab from late 18th to mid 19th century theywould find in support of the legal arguments employed by Jinnah a hundred years later. The great tragedy ofcourse was that Sikh leadership could not come to terms with Jinnah in 1947 even though the latter had given them a blank cheque. Maharaja Ranjit Singh literally cobbled together a number of principalities to forge an independent state from Kashmir to NWFP consisting of Punjabis and Pakhtuns, Muslims and Hindus. This state had its own foreign relations and foreign policy. It also showed that India was never one country but a continent which was to become the basic premise upon which Muslim League was t0 build its case for Pakistan. More importantly, however, Ranjit Singh laid the foundations for the Punjabi parochialism that was to create such a huge problem for both Indian National Congress and the All India Muslim League, forcing the latter to search for a slogan that sought to tame this parochialism. It was this powerful parochialism that Jinnah referred to when he told Mountbatten that “A Punjabi is a Punjabi before he is a Muslim or Hindu ” while arguing against the partition of the province. This identity was given to the Punjabis by Ranjit Singh. How did this one-eyed Sikh warrior manage to bring together Punjabi Musalmans, Sikhs, Hindus and Pushtun Musalmans together in this one great Sikh-dominated state remains a mystery. It is said that a calligrapher tried to sell a beautifully copy of the Quran to Ranjit Singh’s Foreign Minister Fakir Azizuddin who wouldn’t buy it. Ranjit Singh overheard the argument, took the Holy Quran, kissed it and bought it for a price in excess of what is being asked. When asked why he replied “God gave me one eye – so that I could see all religions with the same eye”. Our historians would have us believe that this man defiled the Badshahi Mosque. Perhaps the most poignant lessons that the Pakistani state can learn from the Maharaja is the way he brought the <Edited>-led Islamist insurgency against the state in form of Syed Ahmad and Shah Abdul Aziz. These forerunners of the modern day Taliban and Al Qaeda had taken refuge in NWFP and had used the Pathan tribesmen to wage a “Jehad” against Ranjit Singh and his state which was in any event Muslim majority. Ranjit Singh and the Army of the Indus crushed this earliest insurgency of the Taliban, pushing back Afghans who had occupied Peshawar since Mahmud Ghaznavi’s time, thus establishing what was to become the permanent border of British India later and consequently Pakistan’s border. It is often said that the British and Russians failed to subdue insurgencies in the tribal area. It is suggested that the US might lose the war as well. However, Ranjit Singh proved that the Army of Indus could defeat this insurgency. Today another Army of the Indus is fighting yet another war in the same region to safeguard another Muslim majority state against a “Jehad”. Inshallah the Army of the Indus will overcome. This is no call for Punjabi parochialism lest I be mistaken- I believe in Punjab being divided up into several provinces. My interest in Ranjit Singh is purely from a Pakistani angle. Just as we admire Tipu Sultan but do not become Mysore Nationalists, we don’t become Punjabi nationalists by admiring Ranjit Singh. This is however an attempt to honor one of the greatest sons of this soil from whom the Pakistani nation state can learn a thing or two in state-craft.
  3. You have totally ignored all historical and Gurbani references I have provided and tried to quote a Karni Nama 'English Translation' to justify your hate. Karni Nama and Raj Nama appear in Sau Sakhi. They talk of 'Khalsa Raj' as the time of the previous Dharams Raj will end, this is what the quotes you have mentioned allude to. They talk of removing 'corrupt' Quazis, they have already been addressed in Gurbani. These prophecies don't just mean Khalsa will prevail over Islam, but over all mankind and all faiths. The response was more directed towards Mecca etc because in the story, the person answer the question was a Muslim. Rome (Christiantiy) is also mentioned here, you forge to highlight that, I am sure some of yuor EDL mates go to Church (although I doubt it, the drunken racist yobs). I bet it breaks your heart to know that the Master of Miri and Piri, Guri Hargobind Sahib, built a Masjid for the Muslims in Gurdaspur. It is the same people who the Karni Nama talks about (Akaal Purkh ki Fauj), who have maintained, restored and given this precious sign of the Guru's benevolence back to the Muslims. You are obvioulsy missing a trick here my friend. According to your train of thought, our Guru must have built a house of worhip for a false and evil religion, which was started by an evil man. Be it on your head and those who follow your misguided hate to clash heads with my Guru, it will be your head that eventually get's smashed. In any case, I do ardaas Parmatma guides you and brings you to his charan kamal. This response is more so for those members of the audience that you may have possibly lead astray. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Guru_ki_maseet
  4. There are countless examples to disprove that your personal hate of 'Islam' is not derived from the mat of the Guru. But I will correct one specific and ignorant that has been made be 2 people here, that Aurengzab was a 'true' Muslim. Let's see what Guru Gobind Singh has to say about that: "Aurangzeb! I did not know that you are a perjurer; that you are mere worshipper of wealth and breaker of your faith. You neither follow the teachings of Islam nor you understand its meaning. You do not know the ways of the Lord nor do you have any faith in the Prophet Mohammed. Any believer of his faith, will not look here and there (while fulfilling) his own promises. This man (Aurangzeb) who swears by the Koran as well as by One God, cannot be trusted even equivalent of a speck of sand. (So now) if you swear hundred times on the Koran, I do not have trust in you even equivalent to a drop of water." (Zafarnama) If our Guru Sahiban saw ‘Islam’ as evil, they would never have let Muslim kirtanees, Muslim dhadees, Muslim Kavis, Muslim holy men, Muslim warriors, Muslim business men, Muslim householders... play such an intricate part in their darbaar, their lives and their battles. Did Guru Nanak not bless Babbar with rule? Did Guru Ram Das (Bibi Amro) not receive land for Darbar Sahib from Akbar? Did Guru Hargobind Sahib not save Jahangir from a Tiger attack? Did Guru Gobind Singh not help Bahadur Shah to Kingship....? These are few, amongst many examples of the complex relations the Guru Sahiban had with the Muslims rulers. Where they were civil, they were blessed, where they were tyrannical they were punished. Even under Maharaj Ranjit Singhs Khalsa raaj, Madrasas of the highest order (Muslim schools of learning) operated freely in the Sikh kingdom. In Sarbloh Granth, there is even an ode written on the bravery of Ali, known amongst pious Muslims as the ‘Lion of God’. Aside from the references to corrupt Qazis and Pandits, there is no vilification of Islam. Re your comments of Sufism being corrupted, that is ridiculous. Sufism is an ocean of thought and practices, which foundational commonality. All take their lineage from the Prophet Muhammed, and Sufism has existed in many countries for many hundreds of years i.e. Nigeria, Indonesia, Iran, Central Asia etc. Finally, why would the Guru have gone to the extent of ‘helping’ Muslims, if their path was one of Evil as you seem to think? You don’t have to bash others to love your own, Gurmat is the brightest light in the darkness, but other paths have their own level of light, depending on the devotion of the individual follower, it is individuals who our Guru’s helped or targeted i.e those with their eyes, ears and minds open. It is individuals that Pita Ji looks at know as his Khalsa, not the collective that is making a mockery of the Khalsa. Before you reply with an attempt to defend your ego (honour), try and think and contemplate a little about all this. Is it worth going against the truths and path of the Guru, only to justify your own hate, ignorance and stereotypes..? Target and punish those crooks who commit evil, be them Catholic Priest, the biggest International Paedophile rings who are based in the west (westerners), Eastern European gangs who own the Sex Slave industry in Europe (inc thousands of child victims) or members of the Pakistani community who abuse girls... but please don’t use these crimes committed by humanity to fuel your personal propaganda campaign against all Islam. Advice Guru Sahiban give to their Muslim brethren, to free themselves from the shackles of evolved ritual and hypocrisy and find their true deen again: "To be called a Muslim is difficult. If one be really so, then he may get himself called a Muslim. First, let him savor the religion of the Prophet as sweet; then, let his pride of his possessions be scraped away. Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life. As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit. And when he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Musalman” O slave of the inaccessible Lord God Allah, forsake thoughts of worldly entanglements. Become the dust of the feet of the humble fakeers, and consider yourself a traveller on this journey. O saintly dervish, you shall be approved in the Court of the Lord. ||1|| Let Truth be your prayer, and faith your prayer-mat. Subdue your desires, and overcome your hopes. Let your body be the mosque, and your mind the priest. Let true purity be God's Word for you. ||2|| Let your practice be to live the spiritual life. Let your spiritual cleansing be to renounce the world and seek God. Let control of the mind be your spiritual wisdom, O holy man; meeting with God, you shall never die again. ||3|| Practice within your heart the teachings of the Koran and the Bible; restrain the ten sensory organs from straying into evil. Tie up the five demons of desire with faith, charity and contentment, and you shall be acceptable. ||4|| Let compassion be your Mecca, and the dust of the feet of the holy your fast. Let Paradise be your practice of the Prophet's Word. God is the beauty, the light and the fragrance. Meditation on Allah is the secluded meditation chamber. ||5|| He alone is a Qazi, who practices the Truth. He alone is a Haji, a pilgrim to Mecca, who purifies his heart. He alone is a Mullah, who banishes evil; he alone is a saintly dervish, who takes the Support of the Lord's Praise. ||6|| Always, at every moment, remember God, the Creator within your heart. Let your meditation beads be the subjugation of the ten senses. Let good conduct and self-restraint be your circumcision. ||7|| You must know in your heart that everything is temporary. Family, household and siblings are all entanglements. Kings, rulers and nobles are mortal and transitory; only God's Gate is the permanent place. ||8|| First, is the Lord's Praise; second, contentment; third, humility, and fourth, giving to charities. Fifth is to hold one's desires in restraint. These are the five most sublime daily prayers. ||9|| Let your daily worship be the knowledge that God is everywhere. Let renunciation of evil actions be the water-jug you carry. Let realization of the One Lord God be your call to prayer; be a good child of God - let this be your trumpet. ||10|| Let what is earned righteously be your blessed food. Wash away pollution with the river of your heart. One who realizes the Prophet attains heaven. Azraa-eel, the Messenger of Death, does not cast him into hell. ||11|| Let good deeds be your body, and faith your bride. Play and enjoy the Lord's love and delight. Purify what is impure, and let the Lord's Presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head. ||12|| To be Muslim is to be kind-hearted, and wash away pollution from within the heart. He does not even approach worldly pleasures; he is pure, like flowers, silk, ghee and the deer-skin. ||13|| One who is blessed with the mercy and compassion of the Merciful Lord, is the manliest man among men. He alone is a Shaykh, a preacher, a Haji, and he alone is God's slave, who is blessed with God's Grace. ||14|| The Creator Lord has Creative Power; the Merciful Lord has Mercy. The Praises and the Love of the Merciful Lord are unfathomable. Realize the True Hukam, the Command of the Lord, O Nanak; you shall be released from bondage, and carried across. ||15||3||12||
  5. Many of our people sadly do not seem to have the ability to research our ithihaas, ask questions (i.e. why did so many Hindus so easily come into the Sikh fold in the past, but not today), nor understand the depth of poetry and story i.e. metaphor. Sri Ram Chandar and Hanuman Ji were excellent examples of upholders of Dharma. Dharma is not a religion, nor does it belong to a religion. Nor did Sri Ram Chandar or Hanuman belong to 'Hindus'. In fact the word 'Hindu' does not appear anywhere in the Ramayan or other Puratan Dharmik Granths. Hindus, are the people who became adharmak, and lost India to scores of foreign invaders, this was Parmatmas will, for those who lost dharma. As we all know, Guru Gobind Singh had a particular fondness for reading Hanuman Natak and was said to have always carried it with him in their kamarkasa. ਰਾਮਚੰਦੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਰਮਹੁ ਸਾਇਰ ਪਥਰ ਤਰਣਾ ॥ Ram was a spotless person and due to his sense of dharma (responsibility), even the stones floated in ocean. ਬੁਰਿਆਈਅਹੁ ਰਾਵਣ ਗਇਆ ਕਾਲਾ ਟਿਕਾ ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਹਰਣਾ ॥ On account of wickedness Ravan went away (was killed) with the stigma of stealing another’s wife. ਰਾਮਾਇਣੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਅਟਲੁ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਜੋ ਆਏ ਸਰਣਾ ॥ Ramayan (the story of Ram) is ever firm (in the mind of people) and whosoever seeks shelter (in it) goes across (the world ocean). ਜਸ ਅਪਜਸ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਿਡਰ ਡਰਣਾ ॥ Dharma-abiding people earn glory in the world and those who undertake evil adventures get infamy.(18) Bhai Gurdaas Ji Guru Gobind Singh in his own words came to this sansaar to restore Dharma. And in doing so, through his Khalsa, defeated the tyrants with Akaals Agyaa. The 'true' Khalsa is the upholder of Dharma in Kalyug. Sri Krishan Ji and Sri Ram Chandr were upholders in the previous yugs. To say, that the dharmak heroes of previous yugs, gave satkaar and namaskaar to our Pita Ji and the Khalsa, and gifted their blessings to the continuation of the struggle against adharma, is in my opinion, in no way offensive or misguided, it is actually quite humbling. We have inherited Dharma, Dharma does not change it is aad, jugaad and hai bhi and will be ho si. The story the Nihang Baba tells is the kind of parchaar that the 'Hindu', would have listened to and understood as a message that his Guru today is Nanak Gobind Singh and that his 'pure' society, from which he will attain moksha (sangat, understanding correct living and fighting the true fight) is the Khalsa. In this way he was able to cut off his old and now corrupted ties. How did the Avtars and Devtai present their gifts... so long as their name lives, and their story live, they live. When their story is forgotten, they will be forgotten. Our Pita Ji has given them a respected place in his Granth (the dharmak manual of the Singh Khalsa), hence through recitation of their heroic stories by the Singhs, they continue to live and inspire. There is a difference between doing pooja of them and simply understanding and accepting the fact they are historically’ part of our team’. The Nihangs sakhi goes one step further, and subtly suggests that they are ‘still part of our team’. They are the ones that cheer the Khalsa’s brave deeds, our fan club so to say. This needs to be understood poetically and metaphorically. Pita Ji did actually get the Hanuman Natak translated into Gurmukhi, it was a standard educational text in Sikhs schools prior to the onset of the British Raj. These treasures which inspired fighting and righteous spirit, were removed with the British-isation of Sikh schooling. Pita Ji got everything of value including the Qu’ran, translated (this was translated to Braj). We have no need to be ‘Hinduphobic’. Our Guru is the Shabd. Our Guru is the Khalsa Panth. Our Marg is Dharma, we (Khalsa) are the carriers of the Nishaan of Dharma (not so called Hindus). With the right parchaar, they will soon realise this and start joining the Khalsa in numerous numbers again. But this will be a 2 fold exercise, one will be correct parchaar, 2nd will be brave deeds, for people are more inclined to follow deeds rather than words. We should also not so easily or readily dismiss our puratan traditions and sayings, just because they do not fit our present level of understanding. It is actually ok to say, I don’t get it, and leave it at that. We do not always have the answers, instead of concocting answers without any real khoj or vichaar, we should do ardaas to Gur-Pita to bless us with understanding and effort to attain it. They will never let you leave empty handed (but your hands need to be empty when the request is made). “The Sikhs considered it a religious duty to learn Gurmukhi enough to be able to read the Sikh holy books. Those following an advanced course studied, among other things, Gurmukhi grammar and prosody (Ibid, 32). The child began his studies at the age of six. He, or she, then proceeded to learn the Gurmukhi alphabet of which Guru Angat himself wrote a primer. The primer, being written by such an eminent spiritual leader, was in itself religious. It was, however, the means to an even more religious end – to enable the child to read the Adi Granth, a sacred book of the Sikhs. After this other works, such as the Hanuman Natak, a Punjabi adaptation of a Hindi drama, were taught. Other subjects, such as elementary medicine and rhetoric, were also taught in Gurmukhi to Sikh children. According to Leitner, there were many people who knew Gurmukhi when he was collecting information for his report (1880s). Urdu, however, had been brought in and was being established slowly by the government (Leitner 1882: 35-37).”
  6. "Personally i admire EDL as they are the only people who have taken a stance just as Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee did against oppression and tyranny." This is ignorent rubbish. 1 for comparing these cowards to the Master of the Universe and 2 for not even knowing Pita Jis niti. EDL cannot fight one to one, I have friends and students who have regular interaction with the muppets, and they nearly always get laid out, even if they are the ones outnumbering. They all make noise when they are in numbers. In their day to day life, they are quiet (typical racist football hooligans which most of them are). I am not sure what the purpose of 'eradication' of so called 'Islamification' is, because aside from 'genocide', they cannot really stop people from leading free lives. If, it ever comes to national violence, then don't think that you (Sikhs) will be spared, all will be targeted. If mass genocide was to happen and Sikhs were at 1st ignored, the pack frenzy will not stop, it will target the next group. They will always be jealous of success of other ethnic groups, it's that simple. Re strategy of joining the jackels... then read our ithihaas. The Khalsa had the opportunity to unite with the Mahrattas and defeat the Mughals, but they did not. Because they knew if they did, the Mahrattas would target the Punjab next. So the Khalsa allowed the Mahrattas to get anhillated. The Khalsa then fought their own fight, relying on their own clan, and won it on their own terms. This is the only way Khalsa Raj can ever be established. Re the hate of Muslims here, it's laughable. Whilst there is a monirity of scum, from the largely peaceful Pakistani UK populace, there are also many other clans of Muslims in UK i.e. Moroccon, Indonesian, Nigerian, Malaysian, Iranian etc etc and they are all successful and peaceful groups in the UK, who are religious yet respectful to others. To brand all Muslims under an 'evil' banner is the epitome of studpidity and ignorence. We forget all too quickly the many positive relations our Gurus had with many pious Muslims. The Gurus fought Turks, the corrupted form of Muslims, they did not fight 'Islam', otherwise we would not have the Islamic names of God in our bani, alongside the bani of pious Muslims. If one does khoj of Bhai Nand Lal Jis ghazals, they will notice educational and subtle dialogue with Sufis also. We should be careful not to become mindless Nazis and demonise a whole country, when only a town is evil. The Khalsa targets 'individuals' and identifiable groups to adminster punishment, it has never targeted a religion.
  7. These are the kind of things which happen to a martial people, when they cease to be martial. Guru Gobind Singh created the Khalsa Panth, the upholders of Dharma, the ferocious Lions whose appearance alone would instill fear into the heart of the enemy before the battle even began. We give up that highest accolade gifted to us by our Gur-Pita when we cease to follow his orders i.e. to maintain the spirit of the Lion, not just it’s appearance. Whether what happened could have been prevented or not can’t be established (although a singh should always remain tyar bar tyar i.e. alert and ready, always maintain a ‘healthy’ paranoia, especially when people are acting a little funny/odd around him). What could have been different was the Singhs response. When someone takes away your izzat, you don’t just stand there, you get it back and punish the perpetrator. If the perpetrator, his friends and other witnesses had seen the Singh respond i.e. chase the <banned word filter activated> down, then give him a suitable beating, that image, that association would have been etched in their memory for ever i.e. this is what happens when someone touches a Sikhs turban. That would also have made for a better national news story and would have been a subtle warning sent out at a national level. This story has just given the impression that turnabsed Sikhs are easy and soft targets. In this case, it was a not a warning to potential racists, but please let it be a warning to all Sikhs. Make a martial mindset, spirit and ability an important part of your life, as has been ordained by the Master of both Worlds – Guru Gobind Singh.
  8. “Every day, increase your love for your Wife. But NEVER go the bed of another woman... even in your thoughts”. Guru Gobind Singh Ji For the ultimate love story... see here: www.bhainandlal.com
  9. Brilliant news!! We do ardaas that the Khalsa Panth will welcome and continue to support the new Sikhs with open arms like true brothers. Mahabali Guru Gobind Singh turned the downtrodden low castes into Kings. The Pahari Rajai hated this, and it was one of the reasons they were hostile towards our Pita Ji. We must remove this disgusting poison of jaath/paath from the Khalsa Panth and treat all our brothers as equals. Sit with them, eat with them, socialise with them, support them educationally and economically. These people value Sikhi more than most of us. For it truly pulls them away from the oppresive treatment they recieve from the general Hindu culture/people. Much respect to AKJ for their excellent effort and parchaar. Whilst many are busy making bucks or a name for themselves... These Singhs have spread the message and fragrence of Gurbani to the needy. I hope all other jathebandiyan and sampryada (esp the ones whose historic role was parchaar) will take note, and follow in the same footsteps. India has so much potential to give the Khalsa Panth massive numbers and in turn, help turn this adharmic/rotten country into a swarg once again. It is the destiny and right of Millions of Indians, especially those under priviledged, to find a place at the Guru's pavitar charan kamal (and find respect and purpose in doing so). 10. THE ROUTINE OF A TRUE WARRIOR - Unique is the way we live our life. We live never leaving the site of our knife. "I'll sacrifice my life", you can't even sacrifice your morning. The true warriors are meditating while you're still yawning. Before you think of even touching a sword. Know this, the greatest warriors meditate on the name of the Lord. Early to bed, awake before sunrise. This is the routine, followed by the wise. First you battle (inner demons), second you pray, Then you are allowed to start your day. Follow this routine and you will conquer any peak. Sayeth the 10th Master " I treasure the discipline, not the Sikh" (A Sikh without true Warrior discipline is empty). Slightly edited poem from DDT website :-)

  12. Street Awareness - READ Victim Selection And What To Do About It!! by Randy LaHaie The more prepared you are to deal with a violent situation, the less likely you will have to. Preparation Equals Prevention People are drawn to self-defense training for a variety reasons. Sometimes, it’s because they’ve been bullied, harassed or victimized in the past. Sometimes they haven’t been but are concerned about the possibility. They live in a state of angst from a lack of security and confidence in their ability to control the real and perceived dangers in the world. We are all “wired” with the need for safety in security in life. It’s as fundamental as our need for food and shelter. In this post, I’ll be discussing the dynamics of what human predators look for when selecting their intended victims and what you can do to reduce the probability of being selected yourself. In Search Of Safety Many people turn to self-defense and the martial arts to address their safety and security concerns. It is well know that proper self-defense training builds skill, fitness and self-confidence. People who train soon become more comfortable with the idea of standing up to harassment, whether from a school yard or workplace bully, a drunk at the bar or a panhandler demanding money. They become more aware of themselves, their surrounds and their options to deal with volatile situations. They become more indignant that someone would consider them an easy target. They begin to prepare themselves for the “next time” they are harassed or confronted. Armed with their new-found knowledge and skills, they’ll know what to do and be ready, willing and able to do it. The irony is however, in the vast majority of situations the incidents that formerly plagued them either stop or never happen. Why is this? Victim Selection Criteria Human predators select their victims based on non-verbal and behavioral signals that they give off. They will observe their targets from a distance and often approach and then “test or interview” them to further assess their level of confidence or submissiveness. In a matter of seconds, the predator acquires a sense of who is and isn’t a suitable target. For every victim that is attacked, many “fail” the test and are passed over. What are the criteria that predators use to select their victims? What Does A Predator Look For? Like a wild animal, the human predator wants an easy conquest. He does not want his job to be any more difficult or hazardous than it has to be. He will seek out those he perceives as weak, submissive and unlikely to fight back. He doesn’t want resistance and he certainly doesn’t want to be injured himself. Signs of strength or defiance, whether blatant or implied, are often sufficient to cause him to abandon the selection process and look for a more “suitable” victim. Bullies don’t pick on people who won’t put up with their <banned word filter activated>. Muggers and rapist won’t attack someone who will pound them into the pavement! Criminals don’t intentionally select people who will confront and challenge their behavior. Rapists, muggers, abusers and bullies look for someone they can dominate and control. The Grayson/Stein Study (1981) In 1981 researchers ,Betty Grayson and Morris I. Stein, conducted a study to determine the selection criteria applied by predators when selecting their victims. They made a black-and-white video tape of 60 pedestrians on a busy New York City sidewalk going on about their day. They later showed that tape to inmates who were incarcerated for violent offenses (rape, murder, robbery, etc.) They instructed them to rate the pedestrians on the basis of who they thought would make easy or desirable victims? The results were interesting. Within seconds, the participants made their selections. What baffled researchers was the consistency of the people who were and were not selected. The criteria were not readily apparent. Some small, slightly built women were passed over. Some large men were selected. The selection was not dependant on race, age, size or gender. Many of the convicts didn’t even know why they selected as they did. Some people just looked like easy targets. It appears that much of the predator/prey selection process is unconscious from the perspective of both predator and the potential victim. Body Language Analysis Still at a loss of specific selection criteria, the researchers did a more thorough analysis of the movement and body language of the people on the videotape. Here is an overview of their results: 1. Stride: People selected as victims had an exaggerated stride: either abnormally short or long. They dragged, shuffled or lifted their feet unnaturally as they walked. Non-victims, on the other hand, tended to have a smooth, natural gate. 2. Rate: Victims tend to walk at a different rate than non-victims. Usually, they walk slower than the flow of other pedestrians. Their movement lacks a sense of deliberateness or purpose. However, an unnaturally rapid pace can project nervousness or fear. 3. Fluidity: Researchers noted awkwardness in a victim’s body movement. Jerkiness, raising and lowering one’s center of gravity or wavering from side to side as they moved became apparent in the victims analyzed. This was contrasted with smoother, more coordinated movement of the non-victims. 4. Wholeness: Victims lacked “wholeness” in their body movement. They swung their arms as if they were detached and independent from the rest of their body. Non-victims moved their body from their “center” as a coordinated whole implying strength, balance and confidence. 5. Posture and Gaze: A slumped posture is indicative of weakness or submissiveness. A downward gaze implies preoccupation and being unaware of one’s surroundings. Also, someone reluctant to establish eye contact can be perceived as submissive. These traits imply an ideal target for a predator. The Impact of Body Language If you read between the lines of this research, the whole “Preparation Equals Prevention Theory” makes more sense. The non-victim traits described above are indicators of attitude, athleticism and awareness. They imply a person’s vigilance, confidence or submissiveness and the potential that they can and will fight back. Self-defense training develops the qualities of movement that discourage victim selection and projects a “don’t mess with me” demeanor. This explains why a person who had formerly been bullied or victimized takes up the study of self-defense and the incidents that originally plagued him or her stop. Contrary to what many self-defense instructors advise, I doubt that the solution to reducing one’s victim potential is as simple as taking “body language lessons.” You can’t simply “pretend or fake” confidence and expect to ward off predatory selection. I doubt that a deliberate attempt to modify the way you walk, move and carry yourself (even if you could do so) would bring about the desired results. Imagine an awkward, out-of-shape person trying to consciously correct flawed body movements associated to being awkward and out-of-shape. You can’t fake coordination. You can’t fake balance. You can’t fake strength or endurance. That being said, each of these qualities can be developed through the self-defense TRAINING and can dramatically reduce your risk of assault. How To Apply This Information? Much of the predator/prey selection process is subconscious. I believe that it is an evolutionary quality of the subconscious mind that we inherited from our ancestors. In the days of cavemen and dinosaurs, it would have been necessary for survival to select prey that would not turn around and bite your head off! Those who lacked this quality would have soon been eliminated from the gene pool. It is unlikely that you can consciously and consistently control the non-verbal signals that you project. However, this is not to say that you cannot impact those signals in a powerful and positive way. Here is how to do it. Develop Your Awareness Skills The predator is looking for a victim who is unaware, preoccupied and easy to ambush. By becoming more aware of your surroundings, you not only increase the odds of detecting a potential predator, but you project an image of vigilance. This, in itself, can terminate the selection process. Get Into Shape Your level of fitness impacts your ability to defend yourself. If you are attacked, your ability to run away or fight off an attacker is dramatically impacted by your physical condition. Secondly, a strong, coordinated body will automatically project the quality of movement of a non-victim. Finally, fitness impacts your personality in a positive way. The increased self-esteem, confidence and emotional toughness that results from being in good shape are non-victim qualities that predators want to avoid. Take a Self-defense Course Obviously, I’m a strong advocate of self-defense and martial arts training (either at a club or through self-study) to reduce your risk of assault. For reasons I’ve mentioned, self-defense training reduces the likelihood of having to defend yourself. Learn all you can about confrontational situations and develop skills to deal with them. In addition to strength and conditioning activities, incorporate regular practice of combative skills such as kickboxing drills or punching and kicking a heavy bag. Knowledge is Power: Knowledge reduces fear and builds confidence. Confidence is a non-victim quality. Read books, blogs and articles about self-defense. Do what you can to clarify your “mental maps” of how confrontations happen, how to avoid them, and how to respond if they do happen. The most dangerous attitude to your personal safety is the, “It will never happen to me Syndrome.” The fact that you are reading this post already puts you well ahead in the “non-victim game.” Conclusion Your potential of becoming a victim is influenced, in large part, by the unconscious signals you project to a potential assailant. Predators, whether deliberately or intuitively, form an opinion about how easy you will be to dominate and control. They are looking for a weak, submissive and unaware target that won’t or can’t fight back. You can control the non-verbal signals you project by investing time in the study and practice of self-defense. Your projected body language will take care of itself. You can’t fake it. You must earn it. This is not as difficult as you might think. If you really want to prevent or dramatically reduce the probability of becoming a victim, prepare yourself. Preparation equals prevention!
  13. Vahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa Vahe Guru Ji Ki Fat-h Daughters of Shamshere Pita, in this age of darkness, where women are being exploited and abused worldwide, ensure you have the skills, heart, psychology and knowledge to give yourselves a fighting chance should God forbid, you ever face violence. We run a class specifically for Ladies on Wednesday evenings near London Bridge - 5.30pm to 8.00pm. We also have a class in West London on Saturdays. Train with other intelligent, respectful and like minded Ladies. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=197087130438025&set=vb.432861230092196&type=2&theater Below is a little more info: Learn how to protect self on the street using the intricate wisdom of the ancient battlefield arts of South East Asia. We are now welcoming a limited amount of new students for the start of 2013. Develop: spatial awareness, manipulative and fluid footwork, evasive movement, escape tactics from all types of holds/grabs, disarming knives/sticks/dangerous objects, striking with maximum efficiency and devastating impact, street awareness, surprise tactics and real fight psychology. Avoid – hours on exercises which do not help your fighting ability, competition mindset, obsession with certificates and belts, promises that ‘your’ martial art is the best, cultish martial arts environments and McDojo’s which invent ways to keep you as paying students for 20 years. You will learn one predominant style of fighting which will teach you to use the sword, stick and hand in using one set of principles. You will practice drills and exercises which will improve your; ambidexterity, balance, timing, response/reflexes, judgement, intelligent anticipation, monitoring of the opponent, understanding of body mechanics, correct breathing, internal energy generation, fighting strength and peripheral vision. Later you will be introduced to some rare Chinese fighting styles to increase your unique repertoire and fighting ability. The first half of each class focuses on the progressive learning of the traditional skills i.e. sword and stick arts alongside fighting skills, whilst the second half of each class focuses on real life scenarios and applications for the street. The class is kept small to increase one to one learning and ensure that only students of a respectful and focused nature can learn and progress together. The class is informal, friendly and students help each other. Learning is organic and occurs at the students own pace as there is no pressure of gradings/testing and expectation of competing in competitions. 14. We did some charity work at a homeless camp a few years ago over Christmas/New years. Spoke too many homeless people in depth. Many were so articulate, intelligent, talented but the story of how they end up in this situation is very sad... they came from good homes, had great successful lives, but then something sad happened i.e. their whole family died in a car crash (kids and wife etc). They were just not able to cope and lost everything in the depression i.e. their homes, jobs etc. Others, youngsters, come from very volatile and violent upbringings, many abused. They do not have extended family, education (hence understanding) and most importantly, no dharma. Giving money is not a good thing to do unless you know them very well. ‘Offering’ food i.e. asking what they would like to eat, is better. Get them whatever food they want. Take them with you to the shop and let them choose. Tell them about Gurdwarai as you did, but better to take them there. The best thing you could, and the thing which shows you ‘really’ care, is give them your time. Speak to them without being in a rush or caring about what other people walking past are thinking. Give them your undivided attention. Listen, rather than preach. Play it by ear, and if/when you feel they are receptive to you, then give advice. Don’t shy from talking about God, but don’t do so in a patronising way. These people are looked down upon by everyone, they don’t need someone pretending to care, who then does the same. Speak to them and treat them as equals. Don’t treat them as if you are doing them a favour or wait for gratitude, otherwise you are doing it for the wrong reasons and will end up making matters worse for yourself (karam) as well as for them (adding to their misery). Hope that helps somewhat.
  15. Indian Crocs (magar) is actually relatively small, are not as dangerous as their cousins the Nile. The real monster is the Saltwater of South East Asian Islands and Australasia – that is a true and regular man eater. The Magar and the Nile have been documented being dominated by and even killed by Tigers and Lions on the edge of water. In Africa, the Hippo is the undisputed King of inland water, Crocs keep their distance and it’s not that uncommon for a Hippo to kill a croc, Hippos have short tempers. The Hippo, along with the Cape Buffalo (which kills over 200 people and occasional Lions every year) are 2 of the most dangerous mammals in Africa, alongside the Elephant. There is no dispute of King crown between the Tiger and Lion, they do not share territories, they are King of their own lands. It’s being top of the food chain which is where the title ‘King’ stems from in the natural world. In the Ocean the title goes to the Great White and Orca, who again, do not generally share territory.
  16. Singh is derived from the Sanskrit Sim-ha or Sin-ha. In many Indian states, Lion is referred to as Singha. Sri Lanka or Cey-Lon was originally pronounced 'Sinh-alay' or home of the Lion. Singapore, was originally Singa-Pura - land of the Lions. In Thai, Lion is pronounced Sing-to. Lol, even in Swahili (tongue of the Masai) Lion is refered to as 'Sim-ba'... It's pretty clear that 'Singh' is derived from an older source meaning Lion. Re Tiger Vs Lion, it's a pretty stupid debate. In nature, top predators avoid each other for the large part, in the unique region of India where these top cats lived as neighbours, they would not have usually entered each others territories, they would have scented their land to keep each other way. It is common for a Lion to ignore the warning and enter another Lions domain or a Tiger to enter a Tigers (by way of challenge) but for a Tiger or Lions to enter each others.. no. That aside, they are top predators and pretty evenly matched. The Tiger is however bigger and more commonly fights to the death in a challenge match, fighting to the death is less common in Lion challenges. Nearly all the video footage and documented cases of Lion Vs Tiger in captivity (the only place they have ever been seen fighting) scores the Tiger the winner. But this does not prove anything per se. The Cats are not in their natural environment for starters so psychology is different/changed. It could be the Tiger handles prison better than a Lion. If we were to talk about the Amur (Siberian) Tiger, then I think it would come down to size as the Amur Tiger is the giant amongst cats and actually possibly the top land predator on Earth (many reported cases of it killing/predating Brown Bears, who themselves are a top predator). Only the Polar Bear or Kodiak Bear (biggest Brown from Kodiak islands) could contest the title. But again, in nature, it impossible for an Amur and Lion to meet, so it’s a pointless discussion. The Lion is King of its land, as the Tiger it’s King of it’s land. The Leopard however is the elusive champion, it lives in the land of all the top cats (including Amur), yet is the most successful at surviving and hunting (even though it would be killed in most cases in a fight with it's Masters). We as Khalsa can take inspiration from both Tiger and Lion, they are Kings of their domain, as we should be. That domain first and foremost is the mind. We must defeat the minds tempatations, distractions and illusions, we must defeat the demons (panj vaikaar). They are relentless, we slay and new army of demons arrives. We progress in our bhagti/sikhi/rehit and the they pull us back down to hell in a moment’s unconscious pride... We need to take understanding from Chandi di Vaar – and apply that continued and unwavering destruction on the relentless, fearless and ferocious demons, who keep appearing army after army, King after King.. with one objective, to destroy Chandi....

  18. Anyone who lies with a snake will eventually get their face bitten. EDL are a bunch of racists and football hooligans, who regularly attack minorities in the streets of London (as well as elsewhere in the UK). I have many friends from varying ethnic backgrounds who have been attacked or know of others who were. These racist groups were quite active during the recent Riots. Sikhs who think they are cool because they hate Muslims are idiots. They hate any non so called English person, it's just that Muslims are who they find to be the most threatening at this moment in time. 60 years ago (WW2) and the last 6 centuries before that, Jews were treated and looked at with the same suspicious contempt. They were hounded all across Europe, kicked out of Spain, out of Russia, treated as tramps and blood suckers (of Christian Children) in and by the Vatican for centuries. The name tags and outside respectability and tactics change, the monster inside them (extreme hate/prejudice) does not. Yes they don't have the same bite as their American, Eastern European and Australian counterparts, but they are still active and dangerous. And they are always looking for an opportunity to become active. There have been stories over the past few years of racists cells in the UK being caught with ‘stockpiles’ of guns, semi-automatics etc in their basements. These stories are always quickly brushed under the carpet by the media and the culprits simply called ‘mentally unstable’. Let’s not forget about what happened in civilised Norway. Our friend there was shown to be in contact with British and Eastern European racist cells. Although we are not talking about such an extreme incident (which is rare in western Europe), attacks on the street are not so uncommon anywhere. Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry, Walsall, London.. all areas with large ethic populations, all have no go areas and racist attacks do occur (just don’t get much media attention). In any case, this isn't about conspiracy theories or scare mongering, just a small wake up call to many of us who are living in a bubble, that people of extreme hate and violent nature exist everywhere (especially the ‘civilised’ west) and not to walk around in life without preparation or awareness. Don’t be reliant on the Police to always be there to protect you, although you can never eliminate risk or establish a desired outcome, you can certainly to your utmost to ‘reduce’ risk and work towards a ‘better’ outcome should the SHTF. Wicked Warrior, a very good question and good that you are openly contemplating it as such. Answer lies in ‘Dharma’ and understanding of it there of. Our purpose is to be ‘dutiful’. To our parents, to our partner, to our children, to our neighbours, to society (insaaniyat) – but most of all to our Guru. Dasmesh Pita came upon Earth to destroy tyranny, this is the maksad (objective/purpose) of this offspring (the Khalsa). It is a free choice, no one is forced to become a Khalsa, but those that do, should seek to understand what it means to be one and not simply emulate one i.e. look like one, act like one or speak like one. We are born of the warrior prayers and the double edged sword, our purpose is clear (even though forgotten by most today). The feelings you have belong to the aamb banda (common man) the type who get’s enslaved by tyrants. The Khalsa is fierce, his boli is Guru-Mukhi i.e. Shere Boli. His nature is also fierce. But this is ferocity is kept in check through the Guru’s rehit. The Warrior prayers are sealed in between Jap Ji and Anand. Bhagti is the supreme dharma, shakti seeks to uphold and give freedom for the practice of the supreme dharma. There cannot be one without the other. Being a Warrior is easy. Being a ‘dharmic’ Warrior is extremely hard. Which is why mahalla teeja says – khaniyon thhiki, vaalon nikki, eth maarag jaana. It is dharma to cut down tyrants (this is what Gur-Pita has taught us and this is what our elder brothers Babai Ajeet Singh, Jujhaar Singh, Joravar Singh and Fate-h Singh have shown us). The fight can be in many forms (pen, speech or sword) – but only the brave (true Khalsa) will be able to ever fight. Dharma is not the monopoly of Indians or Sikhs, it is the gyaan of the aatma which exists in all man, which is why those who earnestly introspect, from any faith or tribe, are able to visualise dharma and die fighting for it. This is why mankind has such an amazing history across the board, but our haumai and hankaar (self/tribalism) stops us from exploring it, appreciating it, understanding it and being inspired from it. It is the nature of a Lion to protect his pride. The Lioness will hunt and look after the cubs, but will run when a pack of Hyenas or Wild Dogs appears. But the Lion will not hesitate in running into the enemy pack and exposing his nature and will tear the danger apart. The Dogs recognise the Lion and too know it’s nature, their confidence disappears when the ‘mane’ appears. Guru has given you the ‘nature’ of the Lion, not just a ‘middle name’ (as many utilise it). Understand the nature Dasmesh Pita has given you. The Lion sleeps (does bhagti) most of the time, but when occasionally danger appears, it awakens – and it only does this because it knows it self (it’s true nature and purpose) and practices and meditates on it so as never to forget it.
  19. Although many skin heads get beats on the streets nowadays (especially in London) when coming across streetwise Blacks, Sikhs, Muslims etc... it is good to know the kind of evil violent intent the old school skin heads used to have. These people are still around and try and 'educate' the softened BNP, EDL and remnants of the NF on how to build a violent racist character. If you ever come across a nasty racist like this, ensure you are in a good position to ensure the outcome is favourable, on your part. Make serious martial arts culture a core part of your life. Taken from a Skin Head forum. STREET FIGHTING (for Skin Heads) Have we, as a subculture, forgotten what it means to be a skinhead? Sure, it's about good music, loyal friends, and good times, however, more importantly, its about racial preservation and ****geny. I have been a skinhead for a LONG time, and have seen a lot of bull**** come and go, trying to pass itself off as skinhead values and traditions. Why do we shave our heads, and dress like murderers? It's simple. Being a skinhead is a final lifestyle change that essentially claims "I am white, I am sick of this Jewish and Mud bull**** around me, I am not going to take any ****, I will beat your <banned word filter activated>, I will die for my race." That is what being a skinhead is about. **** this spirit of '69 bull****. In my opinion, you can only be a "traditional" skin, or a "racist" skin. This S.H.A.R.P. and A.R.A. bull**** which is manifesting itself on today's streets is completely Jewish bull****. I have never met a "traditional" skin, which would not drink, or hang out with my friends and myself. 'Traditional" skinheads are trapped in the closet. I have met over a hundred, and everyone said something to the effect "Yeah I am racist..but..." Fine, its ok in my book to remain non-political, however should one of these so called "traditional" skins be anti-racist, they are full of ****, and must be beat to the ground. Never have one of these sharp of ara pieces of **** taken a stand for their beliefs. Every one of these drug addict pieces of **** I have encountered have easily been beaten to the ground. **** them. They are a joke, and should never upset a real skinhead, as they will easily fall before you. Lets now talk about the essence of a skinhead; tenacity and violence. How many of you reading this have been in a fight in the last five years? How many have ever been in a fight outside of high school. You need to ask yourself these questions, and ask yourself if you really have what it takes to call yourself a skinhead. As a skinhead, you should not take **** from anyone. I do not care if there are multiple people, you simply do not take **** from them. So what if you get your <banned word filter activated> kicked? So what if you get killed? If you have the aggressive spirit I, and numerous others have, neither of the above will happen to you. How violent are you? How much do you believe in our cause? If some ******* at the grocery store makes a comment such as "Seek Help", do you immediately beat him to the ground? Do you have the animal inside you? Can you do anything it takes? Remember, the reason ******s are so violent is that they still have the ability to tap into animal instinct, and somewhat lack the ability to turn it off. This is a product of natural selection, and results because ******s are so far behind whites, and every other race for that matter, in an evolutionary sense. Whites can turn on the inner animal, although it takes a bit of practice. It's essentially what the military does to all of its infantry and spec ops. They simply train the soldier until the beast can be turned on. This is the same reason that many of you have never met a "normal" marine, and why most of them act like murderers. You, as a skinhead, must turn on the inner animal in order to do what other may deem as impossible, sickening, depraved, and insane. It takes only minimal training to turn on the inner animal, it is only a matter of breaking the psychological barrier. Have you ever had dreams where you were punching in slow motion, regardless of what your dream opponent could do? This is a psychological manifestation of the constraints of the inner animal. We are generally unable to access the inner animal because of environmental conditioning, and natural selection, in that we have not needed our inner animal for thousands of years. Only a minimum of training is necessary before it can be accessed. What the hell is the inner animal? I have invented this silly name for it because it does not have a name. Some call it instinct, others call it animal instinct. This allows you to do what is unspeakable in today's culture. What can the it do for you? Accessing the inner animal results in the following: Lack of fear Ability to inflict depraved actions onto another Ability to kill without reflection or remorse. If you can turn on the inner animal, you will be able to, unarmed, beat much stronger, more aggressive opponents. If you are willing to do what it takes to win a fight, you will not lose, although you have to break through the psychological barrier to achieve these goals. The ability to tap into the inner animal will keep you alive in the streets, in prison, and in revolutionary times. What do I mean by "the ability to inflict depraved actions onto another?" I'll tell you by asking you the following questions. Could you claw out an opponents eyes and scrape the pink muscle of the eye socket while optical fluid pours over your hands. Could you stand the "underwater popping sound" as the eye is torn from the optic cord? Could you bash, stab, kick an opponent until their head caves in, their brains varnishing the floor, as their eyes are displaced from their sockets? Could you kill thousands of people with an explosive device? Essentially, I am asking, have you ever seen a body? Can you stand to see the mutilation of the human body without going into shock? Can you inflict the above damage on another's body without going into shock, freezing, or being hindered because of psychological preconditioning? If the answer is no, you can not yet tap into the inner animal, nor will you survive long in what the future will surely bring. If the answer is yes, you will most likely never loose another fight, and you will indeed be an asset to our cause. Unarmed Combat This is happy fun. This is what most people ask me about. If you have the "inner animal" you can be a great fighter. I will go into several places to attack and how to go about it. Attack first! Do not defend yourself, if you are attacking at full force, you will not need to, your opponent will be defending himself. Use the highest amount of force in the weakest point of your opponent. Keep attacking until your opponent is out cold or dead. You have to ask yourself one question before a fight takes place: Can I take this *******? If the answer is yes, then fight as you always have, if the answer is no, or you are really ****ed, then unleash the inner animal! Targets: My favorite targets are the knee, throat, and eyes. Kick the knee and shins, when you are wearing steel toes as you should (Hey we wear them for a reason dip****), then you will break bone. If you can do a side kick or a sharp front kick to the knee, the fight is over, REGARDLESS of how fat or big your opponent is. There is not much of a fight after you rip the ligaments and tendons from his knee. You will at the most be fighting a hopping mark! Chop at the throat, or squeeze if wrestling. A hard chop will kill. You can also hit the back of the neck, but unless you are really strong you will not kill. The eyes. It takes the inner animal to tear out eyes. I do not care if you are fighting Thor, tear out an eye and its over. Use your thumbs or index and middle finger. Press until you feel bone, then "scoop" the eye out. The thumb is not as effective as the index and middle finger however, but you can still roll a ****** by using it. The eye will probably leak, and slightly bulge. This is usually enough to stop the fight and put your opponent into shock. Using the fingers you can actually tear an eye completely out of the socket. Any eye attack is hard to do because of psychological barriers. Try finding a dead cat, bird, etc, and tearing its eyes out. Its ****ing hard! If you can tap the inner animal it becomes a breeze. If someone is grabbing you, break their finger, and rip it off. Once a finger breaks you need only fight the tendon/ligaments, and the skin. Bite. Bite anything vital you can, usually fingers, nose, and throat. A GOOD bite will kill on the wrist or side of the neck. A nose bitten off will result in shock if the opponent is not drunk. As I said, the eyes are the best place to go, but you have to be mentally prepared to do it. When striking, avoid a closed fist, instead use your palm on the nose. There are several fun things to do when you beat someone to the ground. **** on their face **** on their face (Not recommended if you have to walk home!) Curby or Curbie depending on where you are from. I am AMAZED that Norton did one to the ****** in American History X! It is odd that the movie was so cool and accurate, yet at the same time sucked and was inaccurate. A Curby is simply placing an opponent's open mouth on a curb, then kicking his head in a downward kick to knock out all of his teeth. Kicking can break the neck though, especially in the heat of the moment. Instead, I prefer to jump up and use both hands to press the head down, right where a jew wears his yahmaka. This will do the job without landing you in jail for murder should you get caught. I have covered the major items I, and most other people use. Everything listed works, and you will never lose a fight using the above methods unless you are a complete cripple. Remember, go for the eyes, and wear steel caps. If you end up in a county jail you still have weapons on your feet, as they take away everything else. Boots are essential. Depending on where you are, there will be a lot of mud in the county jail. Rip their asses apart and kick until they are out. Any questions or suggestions are welcome. The above is based on military and personal research, and actually works. Nothing else does, and although I have taken years of martial arts, I now consider it bull**** and ineffective. Stick to the above and you will never loose. Additional Rules: Always ****ing run after a beat down, regardless if anyone is around or not. Never call or talk to the police for ANY reason. Simply be silent, or say "I have nothing to say to you" over and over. Don't kill unless your life was threatened first, or you can get away with it. Never let a cop in your home without a warrant. They are like vampires, and can't come in unless you invite them. If you are going to go out and roll some muds, do it alone, people talk. FIGHTING WITH A KNIFE First of all, get yourself a good knife: Benchmade, Ka-Bar (Marine Issue), Spyder Co (Police or Military model - What I carry). Benchmade makes some great automatics, however if you live in a gay state, stick to Spyder co, the police model is great. Go for the serrated edge, as it will almost cut an arm off. I cut a 22" shark in half with one swing of a Spyder co police model! They are not to be ****ed with. The police model also comes with a synthetic handle, which is easier to hold then the steel one I have. When fighting, slash at the insides of the arms, as all the veins and arteries are there. For the lower body, slash at the insides of the crotch, or the back of the knee. You can also stab the groin for added measure. For the upper body slash at the sides of the neck, or drive the knife into the base of the neck, under the adam's apple. Stab or slash at the eyes if you can. If behind the opponent, cut his throat, or stab him in the kidneys. Every other spot is a waste of time. However DO stab at these "wastes" if that is all you can get, remember, the purpose of a knife is to bleed your opponent to death, so open a vein and save some time. Expect to get cut during a knife fight. If you are wearing a jacket, take it off and wrap it around your off arm, and use it as a shield. Constantly kick at your opponent's knees to get him off balance, then move in for the kill. If using a knife against a person wielding a club, bat, etc, take off your flight, and whip your jacket at his weapon, especially when he/she swings it at you. This will slow it down a lot. Take a slowed hit if you must, sure, it will hurt, but you have a knife, so open a vein! It will all be over soon. Very few people can take a major cut without freaking out or going into shock. It will take a few seconds though. Remember, even if you destroy a victim's heart with a shotgun, they can still move for 10-15 seconds and kill you! If you are injured, remember. The ****** must die, you are doing good for your city and your future children. This is usually enough to give you a "second wind". Or yell "WHITE POWER", "DIE ******!!", anything to get your adrenaline flowing.
  20. Must read for all those serious about learning about the reality of violence on the streets. Assault In Progress by R. J. Nash The following is information gleaned from the manuscript for the book : Title: "Condition: Black" Sub title: assault in progress Title copyright of R. J. Nash. Data has been gathered from a Home Office study group formed to investigate violence within modern society. This study lists what are now becoming known as "Habitual acts of violence". A "Habitual Act Of Violence" (HAOV) is one that is repeatedly seen to be used in a given situation. The data was gathered mainly from within the United Kingdom and Europe. All data has been gathered through a study of violence within society and from interviews with both victims and offenders. Although statistics have been compiled, they are not yet for general release. The following is general advice to women for their safety and well-being. Threat awareness and avoidance. 1. Just because a person is a relative, friend or colleague does not make them a ‘safe’ person in respect of potential sexual assault. Most sexual assaults are committed by persons who have intimate knowledge of the victim. Always be aware of the possibility of assault. The most common place of assault is in the home. Close all doors and windows when you are home alone. If it is necessary to have a window open, have a lock fitted that will allow partial opening with security. Always use security chain on the door when answering callers. Ensure that the chain is sufficient to delay forced entry for at least ten seconds. No matter how well you know a male, try not to invite them in when you are alone. Designate one room as a place of safety. This room should have only one entrance and be equipped with a stout door, an internal bolt, a panic alarm, a telephone and a weapon of choice. Ensure you are completely familiar with the weapon and can confidently use it. There are many utility weapons around the house, familiarise yourself with these and be prepared to use them When walking alone, be aware of your environment and the persons around you, avoid lonely deserted areas. Frequently change your route to and from home, especially in lightly populated areas. Remember, most attackers know you and your routine. Avoid walking close to alleyways or parked cars and vans/panel trucks. If you feel uneasy or troubled, there is probably good cause for you to feel this. Search for the reason. If you feel you are being followed, don’t try to establish the fact, just go quickly to a place of safety. Once there, don’t leave until you are sure it is safe. Always carry a personal alarm and a utility weapon. Attackers are looking for easy victims. Walk confidently with head high and show awareness. If you are accosted (point A) remember that your attacker has chosen his assault place (point B). NEVER allow yourself to be taken from point A to point B. Your best chance of escape is at point A by direct and immediate action. If you think that by going along without resistance you will not be hurt, you are wrong. Even if you are not physically beaten, you will suffer severe emotional trauma. Research shows that if you resist and are successful, you will suffer virtually no long-term trauma. If you have resisted but the assault is still successful, you will come to terms with it quicker than those who do not resist. Never think that you can appeal for mercy or to your attackers sympathetic nature. If he had sympathy or mercy, he would not be attacking you. Therefore when defending yourself, Show No Mercy. Habitual Acts of Violence: Part One Male on Male, Close Quarters. These are listed in frequency order. 1. One person pushes, hands to chest, which is normally followed by the pushee striking first, to the head. 2. A swinging punch to the head. 3. A front clothing grab, one handed, followed by punch to the head. 4. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a head butt. 5. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a knee to the groin. 6. A bottle, glass, or ashtray to the head. 7. A lashing kick to groin/lower legs. 8.A broken bottle/glass jabbed to face. 9. A slash with knife, most commonly a 3 to 4"lockblade knife or kitchen utility knife. (Apart from muggings, sexual assaults and gang violence, the hunting/combat type knife is seldom used) 10.A grappling style head lock. Only one occasion of a well known boxer, caught on night club cctv, opening the conflict with a hook punch to the body. An interesting point was highlighted. Most fights, after the initial encounter, quickly degenerated into scrappy scuffling with head and waist grabbing and ended on the floor. Which brings to mind that most Shotokaners lack groundwork skills. Anyone brave enough to redress this imbalance on the list? Habitual Acts of Violence: Part Two Offences against the person, male on female These are listed in frequency order. This data was gathered from interviews with victims and offenders and from statements. Data only covers robbery/sexual methodology and changes relative to first contact with victim ie., venue/ night/day etc. Domestic violence is not covered as this is a specific subject of its' own. 1. The victim was approached from the rear/side/front, a threat was made with a weapon, and then the weapon was hidden. Then the victim's right upper arm was held by the attacker's left hand and the victim was led away. 2. A silent or rushing approach was made from the victim's rear, and then a rear neck/head lock applied and the victim dragged away. 3. The same approach as in #2, with a rear waist grab. The victim was carried/dragged away, normally into bushes/alley etc. 4. The victim was pinned to a wall with a throat grab with the attacker's left hand. A weapon-shown threat was made, and then the weapon hidden, and the victim led away. 5. The victim was approached from rear/ front/side. The attacker grabbed the victim's hair with his left hand, and then she was dragged away. The Most Common Wrist Grips, Male On Female. 1. The attacker's left hand, thumb uppermost, gripping the victim's raised right wrist. The attacker threatens/ gesticulates with his right hand. 2. With the victim's right arm down, the attacker grips the victim's right upper arm with his left hand and her right wrist with his right hand. 3. The victim raises both arms, with both of her wrists gripped. The attacker's hands are vertical with the attacker's thumbs uppermost. 4. With the victim's arms down, the attacker grabs both upper arms. 5. With the victim's right arm down, the attacker's left hand grabs just below the right elbow, and his right hand grabs her wrist. A fact worth mentioning at this point is that research shows that women who violently resist ,whether the attack is successful or not, cope with the aftershock and trauma (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) better than those who go quietly and hope they won't be hurt. Very few who do resist get badly battered or cut. Research/profiling seems to indicate that if an attacker is likely to batter or stab, it will happen whether resistance is given or not. Conclusion Probably the most important advice a self defence instructor can give is : Be aware of the possibility of violence at any time, never think "it can’t happen to me".

  22. I am not posting this video for entertainment, but as a sad but realistic reminder that these things do happen. When they happen, it's not glamorous or a psychotic frenzy, most premeditated stabbings are executed very calmly, collectively and quickly. To have any chance of survival, trained and honed instincts/responses are must. They are not created through a few hours of theoretical explanation and understanding, but years through of sensitivity and response based training. Please do not watch if you are easily disturbed. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=168739896605697
