  1. Matheen: Guru Nanak spoke against and said there is no need for janeuo, casteism and said idols are just stones. Do you support the hindus as they rejected Guru Nanak? Were they all right in rejecting him, social boycutting and trying to prevent him from speaking? He speaks from a spiritual point of view, not from a political. He says all these things are useless if they are just considered as rituals and deeper attributes are not internalised if wearing these items. He often quotes from Gurbani in matters of dharm
  2. Do you have any proof that he is a rapist or that he has demeaned the Gurus in any way or is it just hearsay "it must be true since i heard it": Sikhs today in the west with their gangsta mentality is no better than the mughals. As they created martyrs of our leaders, so today we are creating martyrs in other peoples faith because "we feel insulted". BS
  3. Im saying we are no better than Jahangir when he executed Maharaj for allegedly feeling that his religous sentiments were being hurt by Guru Arjan and because he was preaching a new faith. At the same time Sikhs are known for killing "Gurus" of other faiths like thug gangsters. How is this any different from the religous fanaticism of Jahangir and Aurangzeb?
  4. With all due respect singh ji then what you say makes no sense whatsoever If the earlier hindu avatars were God, then what would be the problem in saying worship me? What else should God say ? I am God but go worship someone else?
  5. How is your interpretation of Guru Nanak being God (so Gurbani claims according to you) different from Bachitar Natak that states earlier messengers went astray for claiming to be God?
  6. Oh its google translations. They are not accurate in the native languages and many of the meanings does not make sense. Now its up the the sikhs from the various countries above to correct the sentences so they make sense
  7. Has he prosecuted anyone in the bush administration in relation to the iraq war and guantanamo? He is much better than Bush however he is still a puppet for wall street. Different face but the same foreign policies. Now he is trying to demonize Iran with the same arguments his predecessor used on iraq. What, did'n wall street make enough money on iraq so now they need another war? Im not saying he can not go to Darbar Sahib im simply saying its a shame sangat has to be in company with tyrants like him if he go
  8. Thats good. A tyrant like him should'n visit such a blessed place. That would be like having Aurangzeb to visit the temple
  9. I think the original text can be found in pyara singh padams book "rehitname"
  10. Guru Nanak One who burns away hope and desire through the Word of the Shabad, chants the Lord's Name, and inspires others to chant it as well. Through the Guru, he finds the Path home, to the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||3||
  11. People in the middle east were already circumcised at the time, Muhammad just continued something that was already normal practice in the area at the time. I think this is one of the controversial parts of Bachitar Natak which no one seems to have any decisive answer for. Im looking forward to reading the answers in this thread.
  12. According to the etymology of the word pistol we hear that the word goes back to the 16th century and that it is a french word. Maharaj already mentions France various times in Dasam Granth hence the word must have been used in India at the time. pistol Look up pistol at Dictionary.com "small hand-held firearm," c.1570, from M.Fr. pistole "short firearm" (1566), of uncertain origin, sometimes said to be from Ger. Pistole, from Czech pis'tala "firearm," lit. "tube, pipe," from pisteti "to whistle," of imitative origin, related to Rus. pischal "shepherd's pipe." But earlier form pistolet (1550) is from M.Fr. pistolet "a small firearm," also "a small dagger," which may be the literal sense; though some connect this word with It. pistolese, in reference to Pistoia, town in Tuscany noted for gunsmithing. Pistol-whip is first recorded 1942. Etymology of "pistol" The word "pistol" is derived from the French pistole (or pistolet), which has these possible origins:

  15. The Sehajdhari maryada can be found in Bhai Mani Singhs ratna vali and is a Q&A conversation between Guru Gobind Singh and 10 sehajdhari sikhs
  16. Have you thought about seeking professional help?
  17. Please read the book "fighting for faith and nation" where the author has interviewed many of the warriors who fled to Canada afterwards. Its an inspirational read that would make any sikh proud. By reading their stories and narrations one truely realises that they are the Banda Singh Bahadur and Baba Deep Singh of this age.
  18. First the burka, then they will turn towards the turbans
  19. Whatever their purpose is it is none of our business is it? I doubt they worship these statues. I'd rather think they keep them as artifacts of indian culture and history. When Maharaj said he was the idol breaker he meant that in contrast to Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb would literally destroy the idols of hindus to have them stop worshipping them. What would happen is that they would just built new ones. Maharaj would interlectually make them realise how futile it is to worship these, where they would then leave the idols themselves and never built new ones again... In this way Maharaj says he is the real idol breaker..
