  1. agreed Harnaam is actually so far off the track it's crazy
  2. bro nobody is born in rehit and keeping it is an effort for all sikhs, surprisingly it's tougher in such households
  3. fluff piece to assuage her own lack of clarity and rehit, do what you want but then don't blame others for your behaviour , that's not being an adult , just a whiney child
  4. 1. I am not AKJ anything ...chill 2. I am asking because others may wonder (of course I know that hukham trumps everything and that there is no restriction . However people will wonder as they may never have that fifth kakkar if they had alopecea totalis say) 3. never heard ANY sikh say Anand Karaj for homosexuals was jehaiz ...I don't know what you been taking but calm down on the mudslinging
  5. hor leh panga in other countries because of yaari with 'murica and yahudi zionists, people are wising up
  6. OK explain how one can simply do an ardas if kakkar comes away from sareer and resume rehit ;Yet if one removes even one kes/rom from sareer one becomes patit and has to reinitiate in sikhi by doing pesh in front of Panj and Guru Granth Sahib ji? Can only be one or the other. Kesh are naturally a part of your body and occur according to hukham, some people just never get kesh or lose it through disease does that mean they can never have amrit?
  7. don't worry My Nani never wore one and she managed to have partak darshan of Nauvin Patshah, it's more about internal sharda but it is true that sikhs came in myriad shades
  8. white women and girls, hindu women and girls and sikh women and girls are being exploited by all and sundry especially muslims who then go on to blackmail and threaten them into prostitution from which they make money off these girls. But God forbid someone point out that 'feminism' is a false freedom it is actually freedom for guys to exploit girls without ensuing pregnancies. If you really believe in a good deal and fair treatment of women then you have to be against western feminism as it makes them vulnerable
  9. Guru Pita ji seemed to think it was necessary attire for Mata Bhaag Kaur ji also, he tied it on her head with his own hands
  10. well how would you do proper satkar of kesh by keeping covered at all times without being preoccupied by it then? , for bibian chunnis are too slippery these days.
  11. I am blaming false squeamishness on victorian attitudes ...because if they can do all that and even act besharam and hide it in front of Jaanijaan Guru Pita ji then of course it is human nature but That "hit is not SIKH behaviour or culture so please refrain from calling indulgers Sikh because they for sure are not following Guru ji in any meaningful way
  12. bhen ji the beheading was by a dusht against the nihang on duty of looking afterr the gurdwara. Sikhs intermarrying - if intercaste then no problems, if interrace - no problems if both sikh, however only marrying in the family is a despicable return to hindu amd muslim mentality to keep money/land in family and has no place in sikh culture, sikh culture teaches one standard of behaviour for both sexes - no premartial/extramarital sex or relations, no drugs especially jagat jhoot TAbacco, no alcohols,no keeping of bad company (cynics, nastiks, alcoholics, drug addicts/dealers, sexual predators etc), no listening to lewd and profane songs/ music. The lack of awareness of sikh itihaas has people dancing like idiots at Dheeyan when they were used historically to showcase girls to muslims for kidnapping during Mughal/afghani times by hindu majority, when no self-respecting sikh would send their daughters, nouaan to such a place.(I think Sant Kartar Singh Bhindrawale talked on this) Where Guru Pita ji did manna of celebrating with maas and sharab , aj kal besharam loki do this to keep their friends happy, jadd margeha those same 'friends' will forget you Guru ji never As my bazurg say eh sare sharam lah ke koonti te tangia
  13. Guys important Panthic announcement was made about Mahan Kosh produced by Patiala University stating that there are anti-sikh elements distortion of history and entries included , please check which copies you are relying on . http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/chandigarh/patiala-varsity-stops-sale-of-mahan-kosh/439344.html http://www.sikhnewsexpress.com/patiala-sgpc-buys-all-copies-of-mahankosh-having-errors-from-punjabi-varsity-sne/
  14. Sis get real, when the East India Company got a grip of India they started pushing their value judgements on all sorts of people for instance Bengali women and other Hindu women just wore a sari no upper garments it was the angrez who pushed the blouse onto them also petticoat , the clue is in the entymology of the noun. all Gurmat concepts were reassessed in terms taken from abrahamic thought and victorian prejudices...thus the highhanded BS assessments of Ernest Trumpp (he even smoked whilst looking at Guru ji) . They kidnapped a sikh child , isolated him and converted him then got him married not to a legitimate born gori or an indian but the Barsteward child of an Eritrean (most are muslim) so totally insulting to sikh sensibilities and destroyed the legitimacy of future sikh royal claims. Hindus are not squeamish of Kaam even their devte are depicted as kaami and they openly revel in that aspect of their mythology. Why should we be? never had sex education , never had frank conversations with parents ? Everybody does if they want to protect their future generations from defect in character and health Women due to the fact they have to deal with the aftermath of assault and abandonment really do need to wise up and read CP and give the same advice to their kids that Guru Teg Bahadur ji gave to Guru Pita ji
  15. if we get a group of us asking for the farsi (gurmat specific)course to be delivered again online format perhaps then they may be persuaded to run it again, I'm on the wait-list already: Firstly, thank you for your email and taking the time to write to us with interest and passion with regards to the Farsi language course. Secondly, humblest apologies that we have neglected to reply to you sooner. The course has been run for the second time now and at the present time, there are no further plans to repeat the course in it's current format. What we are exploring, however, is to offer some kind of learning opportunity in terms of Farsi language in the future but how that will look exactly is yet to be cemented. It is time to evolve the course in the interests of "continuos improvement" and to keep on striving for excellence.Being a small charity, we are also mindful of our resources and the number of projects that we can responsibly undertake at any given point in time. Currently, we have diverted our resources towards making available ithiaasic texts (translated into English) for purchase via our website. These include Gur Sobha whereby the translation was sponsored by Turiya. We have further such projects in the pipeline and it is our wish and aim to provide opportunity for the Panth to take control of their personal learning as Sikhs, rather than relying on unsubstantiated historic accounts from 3rd parties. We try to run the charity with great efficiency and none of the sevadaars are paid for their time (it is given freely as Dasvandh) and we endeavour to keep costs down to minimum. All sales proceeds from our online store are wholly diverted towards our current translation projects. We have recorded your contact details so that if and when we are ready to revisit the delivery of a Farsi language course, we can engage with you and other interested parties in order to ensure that you are given first refusal.Thank you for your understanding and supportMany Guru bless youT. SinghTuriya
  16. Ok I had a look it was actually T singh from Turiya Charity, maybe try SOAS to get true independence https://www.soas.ac.uk/languagecentre/languages/
  17. there is a group of sikhs who ran a farsi course out of SOAS , maybe try them I'll look up in my notes for the email
  18. wouldn't it be wiser to consult sikh vidvans in arabic and farsi as they will not have an ulterior motive to hide worse aspects of the quran ?
  19. losing sense of surroundings and detaching from senses' input is a good sign that you going deep into the naam, don't get scared keep going
  20. hoping to get Isher Kaur into secondary there , my twin sons study at Redbridge and tell me about how sweet the little ones are coming out of the building...
  21. veer ji i am reading a short booklet 'Instruction manual for the 21st century samaurai ' by Alexei Maxim Russell whilst taking Isher Kaur for her swimming lessons, it covers teachings taken from three Masters Mussashi miyamoto(the book of the five Rings) -ronin, greatest warrior 'of all time' (nonsikh) ; yamamoto TSunetomo (Hagekure)- General master strategist and Eihei Dogen (shobogenzo) monk - top monk of The zen buddhism tradition sinebasine teaching of buddha , active meditation much as Guru ji taught... It is striking how Guru ji gave deeper teachings than these but much more cohesively, if we read our siddhant in light of these warriors and the ideas of kaizen etc we could recapture the lost disciplines easily
  22. we as individuals , families, communities and the kaum need to develop the traits we admire in our predecessors , our parchaariks, kirtaniyas and sewaks , then the panth will progress and enjoy strength and blessings from Guru Pita ji. At this juncture we need to listen to katha of shalok saskriti and jaitrisari ki vaar as being provided by veer Sukh jeevan Singh on Sikh2Inspire on a morning and night basis this week , contemplate shalok mahala 9 and develop gurmat understanding of death:
  23. maya is a witch like that ...enticing yet her true roop is horrific
  24. I don't get it , please consider how many videos , how much katha, how many question and answer sessions are left in the bank for everyone to still consult , plus the number of international teams started, the new stronger panthic relationships between different younger jatha members across the diaspora, the groundwork done fot the Amritsar project started . He is not gone , his words and light touch is still around , let us not slip into depressive mode , we should be happy for him , gurmukh laha lah gehe ... he has returned home. It is just like all our wise gursikhs they don't die , they live in their bachan to us , if we read and learn they remain active in this realm too.
