  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, totally agree with veer confu singh. one step at a time. But also we need more parchaar of real sikhi to the masses. The whole of humanity needs to know about Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Naam, and the love of Sikhi. Then more people will understand that sikh are not terrorists or extremists. I think the Dalai lama has done a wonderful job at presenting Buddism to the world. Sikhs can learn alot from what he has done. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, thats Bhai Bhahdhur Singh derby. When was the pic taken? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, the true sikh martial art is Naam, that is what all the Guru Sahibaan taught. Naam is all encompassing. For example Bhai Bachittar Singh ji, was an abyassi Gursikh, who had never picked up a shaster in his life. But when the elephant came, Guru ji called him, he rode out and fought the elephant. Most developed martial arts teach you self control, indomitable spirit, and mind control. If you are naam abayssi you can do any martial art, it will be very effective. For example, I used to do Gatkha, but now only stick to Tae kwon Do and street fighting. The traditional Martial art of the Sikhs is Gatkha. It was originally taught to Sahib Siri Guru Hargobind sahib ji, by Baba Buddha Ji. If you are Amritdhari, and wear your kirpan, then learning it is a must, otherwise your kirpan will be nothing more than showpiece. Gathka vs Shaster vidya - in reality both are exactly the same. Nangs call their style shaster vidya, mainly because of internal ego, and their self-delusional state of superiority to everyone else. Yes, Niddar has some good self-defense techniques, but that is Sava rakha, which is separate. In terms of gathka and shaster vidya, in my experience most of sahstervidya, just talk, and rarely spar, when asked. When they do they are usually shown up, and hence they avoid sparring, making up petty excuses. In conclusion, learn Gathka, or any martial art, no art is bad, only your training and commitment is. If you are dedicated, every art is beneficial. But remember "Ram Naam, Sab hai Ram nama". Everything is naam and that is the true reality. Only in Naam you will find true contentment and bliss, and focus mainly on that. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I think this has really become an issue after the non-allowance of Bibian to do seva in Harmandar sahib. Gurmat in terms of idealogue clearly demonstrates equality. But in practice many punjabi sentiments seem to be still apparent. I remember an incident 10 years ago. Prof. Manjit Singh was Akal Thakt Jathedar then. He allowed bibian to do seva, and got a lot of flack as a result. But no bibi would come forward. Then Bibi Amarjit Kaur, wife of Bhai Fauja Singh, and Bibi Shanti kaur, leading figure in 3HO, came forwad and did seva. They did seva at Amrit vela with Singhs who wash Siri Harmandar sahib with milk. No one said anything from men, eventhough many were against. But to most peoples astonishment, there were a large group of bibian who held a protest against these two bibian, and demanded they were removed from the Panth for sacriligous behaviour in Harmandar sahib. Unbelievable or what! Honestly what can you do with these people. I noted very few people helped the two Southall bibian who started the campaign, it is a shame really. Like everything in life, these things are a struggle, but if you persevere, anything can be achieved. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! P.s. for once niranjana, part of me does agree with you. But what I have stated above is fact. Lets try to stick to facts.
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, although I am Panthik, and i do seva with many jathebandies. One being AKJ. Ten years ago, they inspired me to keep my kesh. Since I have known them, and know them very well. I can honestly say I have not got a clue, what on earth you talk about. Which akj have you ever met, who has said things like that? All the jatha Gursikhs I have met, and concerened with bani abyass, seva, and sangat. Please put names, and realise if someone does really exist like that he/she is nothing more than an individual. Your generalisations are way, way, of the mark. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  6. Bani of Sahib Siri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji SUKH MAI BAHU SANGI BHAE DUKH MAI SANG NO KOE P1427 Aad Granth Sahib Ji FRIEND IN LIFE AND DEATH In happiness and prosperity one finds her many friends; In sorrow and adversity there is none; Says Nanak, leaving Communion was gone, my mind, The Lord will save thee in the end. Translated by Bhai Tarlochan Singh ji. Plato once stated, "that friendship arises out of human needs and wants and the higher form of ideal of friendship exists only for the sake of God." Selfish and greedy people become the most flattering friends of prosperous, successful, powerful and rich people, but as soon as they face adversity, they not only disappear be even turn against him/her. True friendship is inspired by wisdom, pyar, selflessness and virtue. These are acquired by leading a contemplative life. Shakespeare states, "All friends shall taste, the wages of their virtues and all foes, the cup of their deservings." True friendship is a divine gift, which exalts character, ennobles and purifies man's heart and soul and fills it with compassion and understanding. God, and those who live in the love of the truth, are the only true friends of Man and destined but stand by him and redeem him from the sorrow and tribulations of life and death. 7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, is the kirtan on any of the websites yet? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, like i said, I am mot sarblohi, and have never been. I know the Tapoban Gursikhs all are. You may be better putting these questions on there forum, to get proper answers. http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/list.ppa?f=1 Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, whether you accept kesh or keski, it is irrelevant. What is relevant is that a dastaar is hukam, and any Gursikh always looks better with a dastaar. veer ji, you can put the arrow to this kesh on his beard. But put a dastaar on him. That is the Crown and "Shaan" of a Gursikh. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, sorry, but I often find these posts very silly and childish. No one is coming back, and stop living in dream worlds. Khalsa Raj will only hapen when the khalsa start coming out of their houses and gurdwaras, and show the world what real sikhi is. Do abyass of naam, and jappa it to others. Rather than waiting for Baba Jarnail singh or others, create a jeevan like theirs in yourself, and become the Baba Jarnail singh or Bhai Fauja Singh of this generation. The only real inspiration is to become inspirational yourself. The Khalsa Raj will only come when people start Naam Japping on a mass level. Then the virtues of the khalsa will overwhelm everything, with peace, love, humanity and wisdom. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, althougth I myself am not sarblohi, just for your benefit, I will attempt to answer your question. Sarbloh means eating out of iron utensils. It is part of prataan rehit and tradition followed by many Gursikhs in AKJ, Taksal, Nihangs, etc. Sarbloh has specific qualities and its importance should not be under-estimated. Sahib Siri Guru Gobind Singh ji specifically wrote a rehitnama in which he clearly wrote the kara should be of sarbloh. Amrit has always been prepared out of sarbloh batas only. There are many reasons for this. Main one is sarbloh is very clean. If you have ceramics or steel, when you clean it, you just clean the surface. However in sarbloh, when you clean it, the whole layer of iron gets removed, revealing a completely new layer, which is totally clean. Many Gursikhs kept sarbloh rehat as part of their daily routine. Names include Bhai sahib Bhai Randhir Singh ji, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Bindrawale, Baba Ram Singh ji Namdari, Akali Phoola Singh Ji, and many others. As you may see this is a wide cross section of jathebandik fore-figures in the Panth. You will find some people who are vehementally against sarbloh, saying it is wrong. That is there perogative. I, myself, have always respected strict Gursikhs, as long as they are not over the top. I far prefer a Gursikh saying to me, he/she is sarblohi, than someone saying nothing wrong with meat and bhang. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  13. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, many people wear bhana in Uk. Elders and youth. I have always been inspired by jathedar bhai Jarnail singh and Bhai Raghbir Singh ji. Both have worn bhana all the time for decades, no matter whether at work, gurdwara, or doing parchaar trips to Europe, etc. The only problem I have seen with wearing bhana, is that sometimes you may feel there is too much haumai, (ego) in yourself. But wearing bhana makes you question, and look at your lifestyle. You are wearing the uniform of the khalsa, so you must ensure your thoughts and action are also of the Khalsa. If you do feel some haumai, then makes sure you do more simran and joorian de seva. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  14. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, relax, sorry, I meant to say that khalsa crazed responded to. my mistake. no offence intended. By the way, I have tried responding to it, but just got my character questioned by a moderator. So ended up writing an endless response to that. In future, will try to stick to inspirational sikhi. I remember why I stopped visiting it. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, below is a series of mails which I wrote a while ago, discussing the Bani of sahib Siri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji. The bani covers a range of subjects, and is very direct in its approach. I will be try with Guru maharajs kirpa, to put different shabads up regularly. The First One: BHAI KAHU KAU DET NEH NEH BHAI MANAT AN P1427 Aad Granth Sahib Ji THE GURMUKH He, who fear no-one, Nor strikes fear in anyone, Consider in my mind, Nanak says, Such a man to be an Enlightened Sage Translated by Bhai Tarlochan Singh ji. Sahib Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji, states, that the mind and soul of a man who lives like a coward under an oppressive authority of some ruthless ruler will denegrate into a submissive and crushed Spirit incapable of thinking and acting according to the dictates of his conscience. If we example the Guru Khalsa Panth, such is happening as it gradually is losing its Stature under the influence of Brahmanism, and the policies of Hindutva. Over the last 20 years, the events have the nation to gradually lose its proud voice, leaving the eerie silence of a crushed and submissive society. There are many types of fear. The answer to conquering fear is to conquer greed and death. If one has no more greed, his motives then become pure, and he is not afraid. If ones realises the inevitability of death, and leads a Gurmukh life, he does not fear death, because the fear of death, is the fear of its consequences. Similarly, there are also many types of fearlessness; Firstly, there is the type of fearlessness associated with po wer, cruelty and brute force. Men with a dead conscience are also fearless, and their fearlessness springs from callous ruthlessness. This is common on dictators and warlords. However, Sahib Siri Guru Tegh Bahadhur ji, states that the “Truly Fearless” man neither threatens anyone, nor is he afraid of anyone, such as Sahib Siri Guru Nanak Dev ji when confronting Babar. He is compassionate, conscious of his Strength of Naam, his courage, energy, of purpose, and is unshaken in his faith and conviction in Truth and Justice. He conquers the minds and hearts of others through compassion, charity, understanding, and love. Such a person is called a Gurmukh, and is illumined with Divine Knowledge and is a Philosopher, Scholar and Sage in the true sense of the word. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, i have just seen the thread put up by khalsacrazed on sikh awareness. Apparently according to them most people here are AKJ UK. Strange, i thought most people here are from America/canada, and its a USA based site. It demonstrates how paranoid they are, and the belief that no-one else in the Panth has an opinion. In my experience, yes in UK, AKJ is big, but most of the youth are with no group. Yet they all have opinions. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, N30 are you basically now saying that if we post on sikhawareness, none of the posts will be manipulated, changed, or deleted. Because everytime someone seems to post something against your views, you delete them. I am sure you are well aware, that most of the people who contributed to these threads were not AKJ UK, as most of them are not even on these sites. I am one of the few. Most of the people who contributed, are ex-members of sikhawareness, which is why they have so much knowledge the peoplewho are spoken off. Can you clarify this on your site. This would be in the interests on integrity. also to mods - is it true that gajjarpa posts were deleted. If so why? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, hopefully that concludes matters. I hope everyone gets laha from the keertan, and gains the blessings of the Guru. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, this film first came to attention of sikhs over a year ago, when someone put it on egroups. At that time it raised quite an uproar. When the producers were located, we from leeds and bradford sikh youth group went to see them. We met them and had an amicable discussion. We explained to them that sikhs are very upset with this film. They knew this was the case from all the mail they had recieved. So they said to us and put on egroups that they had sikh advisors involved. This calmed down many emails. We asked for the names, but they were reluctant to give them. After some pressure they did. The names given as so-called sikh advisors, did not have sikh names. This was pointed out them. They got stuck again. Then they came out with another name down south. Again who knew nothing about the film. While this was going on, they got the film completed. The sikh involved in the case here said unless they allowed previews for sikh reps before its release, then we would have to contact censor board. They agreed to allow previews. I was abroad when previews happened and have not seen the film. But youth that went were not too impressed. The producers are saying sikhs have approved it from south and bradford, many they wish to present some written proof of this. It was also mentioned that the film has numerous different endings. So in Pakistan it will end differently, and so in India, and and UK, etc. So the fact they say the girl does not accept the muslim boy, may only be true in Uk, but not in Pakistan. I have found the producers to be quite cunning, and only interested in financial rewards. He said to me before his films were contrversial aswell. I think he realises that controversy promotes films. He wants you all to kick a fuss, and wants it on egroups and in papers. It gets the film more attention, and more people watch it. I noticed how cunningly he got it reviewed in sikh Times paper, saying sikhs were originally anti, but are now supportive. This is not the case at all. Bottom - line, object to it, but do it carefully. Do not play in their hands, and publicise the film more. I suggest contacting the censor board, and complaining that the film will increase tensions between between sikh and muslim youth. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, this has nothing to do with akj. In fact most akj youth, could even care less what nangs do. They just get on with their seva. I do seva with jatha, sikh missionary, Guru Gobind singh Study Circle, and Akal academy. I believe in the Panth. I have seen some people love the jatha, other don`t. Some people love taksal, other don`t. Its not a big issue. But everyone who understands the dodgy websites, is against nangs. In fact from my experience taksal, are just as anti-nang than jatha, if not more. With nangs it is all about their beliefs, which have been listed, nothing more, nothing less. If you accept everything they say, then is there anything left that is a kurehat? Also lets not get into a witch-hunt. I have only met Hitchin boys a few times, they seem like nice lads. Even if they are with nihangs, does it matter. Most youth get attached to whoever they meet first. It is not the people, but the idealogue that I am against. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, dass is a member of the AKJ UK committee. I rarely get involved in this stuff becuase it is usually pointless mini-debates between people who over-speculate. But just to clarify some remarks by Prabh ka simran. Firstly, AKJ UK has never discouraged anyone from attending any programmes, and never will. There are 12 official rainsbhai done by the jatha every year, which are booked one year in advance. The official one for december is at Coventry on 20th. Further to this many other programmes are booked every year, and many times gursikhs are invited to other programmes to do seva. As far as Manchester, the jatha has left it to the individual to decide whether they wish to attend or not, just like every other programme. For those who do, it has arranged transport, such as Bhai Satnam Singh booking coach from Southall. Manchester smagam was also announced at North smagam. The jatha encourages Gurbani keertan, its mission is for it to be spread in the Panth. There are no problems between Manchester Gursikhs, and AKJ UK. Onkar Singh and Kohli ji communicate freely. We are purplexed at suggestions otherwise. Further AKJ UK does not have a rival programme at East London. Rumors to this nature are seem stage-managed by indivduals with their own agendas. All that is happening in East London is the local youth are having a keertan darbaar, as usual, and they have invited Bhai Paramjit Singh jallundar to do keertan there. So a delegation of Gursikhs will be attending. This happens regularly, Jatha gets invited to many keertan darbaars. There is no internal jatha pol itics. AKJ UK has always stood where it has, and always done sewa for the Panth. Whatever the 2 panchains do is their affair. If they wish to speak to jatha, the door is always open. So please do not speculate and waste time with meaningless rumours. If you are not sure about anything you can contact Onkar Singh. Please spend time on seva of panth, and gurbani abyass, and all problems will disappear. Hope that clarifies everything. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare bhen ji, nice to hear from you Navleen bhen ji. I occasionally hear you on the sweet sikhi programme. Totally agree with bibian being under-represented in the Panth. I think alot of it comes down to role models. Where there are good positive bibain as role models, then many bibian are attracted towards sikhi. We are fortunate here in leeds and bradford, especially singh sabha bradford, we have alot of good biban role models here. But generally, i think many areas are lacking. Plus when you do get good bibian doing seva, often they disappear after marriage. Too much punjabi culture of a womens place being the home, stuff. We definately need more bibian to become outspoken and active. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, many years ago, when i was at uni in London, after the sikhi events we used to take all left over Langar to Waterloo and give to the Homeless. There were regular feed the Homeless programes in sikh societies. Does this not happen anymore? If not, then why not? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  24. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, Bhai Rama singh was completely in favour of gristi jeevan. He never got married because of circumstances never allowed it. He travelled alot, and then he said he was too old now. He also encouraged youth to get married, and himself arranged the marriages of many Gursikhs. Yes, gristi jeevanis a must. all the Guru sahibaans, apart from Sahib siri Guru Harkrishan ji, were married. It is a must. The answers to your questions, you will find in Lavaan de shabad. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  25. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, many Gursikhs wrote about Bhai sahib at that period. most knew him far better than myself. I did not want to forward mails without asking people permission. So if you want to read more, I think they are akj egroup on yahoogroups, and on the www.akj.org messageboard. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
