  1. By this logic Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji worshipped idols because he chanted vaheguru. However he spoke against idol worship in Gurbani which also means by your 4 year old rationale is worship of Vaheguru. Can someone who she trust, pm her and get her professional help. Can you please call the Sikh helpline. I have been hearing this same illogical argument from you for several months. It seems like you had a concussion and didn't know it. Now you are suffering from symptoms like unable to make logic of what you read. In no way am I trying to make fun of you.
  2. Here she goes again trying to get Sikhs to worship Devi and devta. She isolates lines. I asked her to do line by line interpretation in the past of full shabads and she couldn't.
  3. This topic should not be in this section of the forum. This section is health and fitness and not words of wisdom.
  4. Unable to control yourself like your buddy harsharan. Both of you need to take classes on self control. Also in your pit of rage you didn't explain what, where and how rakhri came about. But once again you have managed to place doubts on Gurmat, even in your rage. Bye!!
  5. Sangat, read this response. Is this the response of a person who wants to keep harmony and respect others? May satguru bless you with santokh on Gurbani. Gurbani cools the fire burning inside.
  6. Read Gurbani on the topic and understand. Again Gurbani teachings is to be applied. Gurbani is made for everyone and not only for princes or high caste. Bhagat Ravidas ji was born in a low caste and he reached Akal Purakh. Next you will say Gurbani written by Bhagat Ravidas teachings are only for the low caste. You have no leg to stand on. Thanatos and myself are younger than you in age. Yet you have been trying to scare us and destroy the harmony among Sikh brothers. The house of Khalsa Panth will not be scared or be threatened by your tactics. Keep your house in harmony, but don't come into the Khalsa Panth house and destroy the harmony.
  7. You don't even understand why Bhagat Prahlaad ji's history was presented. Let me clear it up for you. I told that story to say Bhagat prahlaad ji kept with gurmat after his father tried many times to stop him. Bhagat ji has given us a teaching to stick with gurmat. In this teaching Bhagat ji kept his cool. So Bhagat ji kept harmony in the house. It was the parent, who was destroying the harmony. Gurbani was written to be applied in a person's life. Also poster Thanatos has presented Gurbani on the history of Bhagat Prahlaad ji and Harnakash. And now you know this sakhi is Gurbani.
  8. Right here we can see how honest you are. You rip one comment out of context and label a person as wicked. You have the same practice for Gurbani. People that want to know where this poster had a mental break down should find the post on the last four pages of the bakti thread. Also on that thread he says he accepts non Sikh writers as true for spiritual knowledge. This means you swim in many pools. The ocean of Gurbani for you is only another pool.
  9. You don't even accept Gurmat practices. You could not understand the difference between Guru given practices and devi, devta, and man given practices. I made my post to you very simple, so you can create that chart and distinction between the two. But from this above post, I can tell you don't accept Guru given 5 Kakkar, Anand Karaj maryada, Akhand Paath maryada. Guru given practices do no depend on what level a person is on. If a person thinks metha tek to Guru Sahib is symbolic, then it is your jeevan which is full of filth. The Guru in Gurbani gives instructions and if that feels like sharia law to you, then go join some other religion. No one will force you to stay. Gurbani is not only poetry and Guru Sahib knew people like you will think Gurbani is only poetry and even wrote a Shabad saying Gurbani is not only poetry. Throughout this debate you attacked Gurmat practices by placing doubts on when and if it is the Guru's teachings and your camp patted you on the back for it. This thread started off by questioning rakhri. You did not tell the readers here, when, who, or how rakhri came about. You did not place one doubt on rakhri. You or any other members of your camp never explained about rakhri. Why not? Is it not important to establish rakhris background? If we are talking about Gurmat practices you want me to explain where, when and how they are Gurmat practices. Why are you holding Gurmat practices in doubt and rakhri is accepted blindly? Your partner singhbj singh runs away when Bhagat Prahlaad ji's history is given to show if the parent is in ego or the innocent child who is suppose to learn and trust their elders but refuses to accept anti-gurmat practices. It would be broken logic if I knew I was talking to a Sikh. Your username is doaba and you have been putting doubts on gurmat practices throughout this thread. You have been giving every indication to say you are not a Sikh, so why would I say Fateh? I have to take you at your word, you are a Sikh. But actions speak louder than words here. And your actions of doubting Gurmat practices say it all.
  10. Playing the victim again!! Back in April 2016 you had a mental break down and left the forum, even making a public announcement of it. You stated people on here (it was directed at me) were mean and wouldn't play nice (which meant, why are my views being challenged...big sad face). Today, you are back to your old habits of promoting anti-gurmat practices. You like practicing and promoting anti-gurmat ideologies and I like dipping into the one ocean of Gurbani. You have every right to express your opinion. And I have every right to counter it with Gurmat. You getting upset doesn't bother me for a second. These above post of attack, only hurt you. You kept on writing similar post as above and guess what!! You had a mental break down. Going down the same road will only bring more stress for you. When you spread manmat, it gives me an opportunity to freshen up on what the Guru taught and present it here. I hope you are prepared for this round.
  11. Hi Mr. Doaba, I have been waiting for this post of yours. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Another poster trying to scare kids into following anti-gurmat practices. I'm number off your points and give a response below. 1 The Kara is given by the Guru to the Sikh. The Rakhri was not given to the Sikh by the Guru. A person misusing a kara doesn't make the kara symbolic or outdated. 2. bowing down is instructions given to a Sikh through Gurbani. Do you even read Gurbani? 3. Again Guru Sahib given teaching. Phere are also Guru Sahib given teaching. Tell me which one of your man made Gurus gave you the rakhri? 4. Yeah, do you have a stronger string. 5. Jyot is a a teaching given by Guru Sahib. I think you need to make a chart. On one side type in the heading, Guru given teaching and other man made oppressive teaching. Then present the chart here and we can help you out. Rest of the points will be given the same answers above. No point on going further. Please read Gurbani and learn what it means, when I say guru sahib given teaching. You can't miss it, it's right before Jap. Only people doubting Guru Sahib is your camp that wants kids to be kicked out of their parents house and equating rakhri to Gurmat practices. Talibanization happens when the taliban or like minded people force their views and practices on others. Up till now that has been your camps goal. Let's see if you guys decide to switch your tactics and become truthful in your approach.
  12. If parent's want to kick their child out for following Gurmat. Then, they should and reap the benefits from their nastik actions. Parents out of worldly attachments, anger, and ego are forcing a string around a child's hand. Such behavior is embodying characteristic's of Harnakash. Gurmat teaches children to stay at home as Bhagat Prahlad ji taught us. Bhagat Prahlad ji didn't leave his house. Instead he kept on meditating on Vaheguru regardless of the threats made by his ruling king father Harnakash. When Harnakash tried to strike down the innocent Bhagat ji, Vaheguru came to his rescue and destroyed the arrogant father. Threatening kids on this site to leave home because they don't want to follow anti-gurmat practices is immature. Do you have any shame at your age? Your failed scare tactics, tell me you are around 50 years old. Since you don't agree with the Gurmat interpretation of the Shabad; shabad is referring to Akal Purakh as father. This means you are saying your father is Akal Purakh. Congratulations!!! Krishna has been born again from Vasudeva, 25th avatar. Ring the bell, call in the pandit, blow the horn. This is where we can tell, how much thought and care is put into your post. Threatening kids, isolating Gurbani (manipulation), screaming through post is not presenting a different point of view. It's being a stubborn, arrogant, reckless parent. Financially, independent.....mega LOL.......when people are full of themselves, they believe rest of the world is beneath them. Find yourself a Gurmukh and learn from them, how to interpret Gurbani.
  13. Did Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji get paap for arguing with his father over the Janeu? The shabad you provided a link to is saying listen to the true father's command Akal Purakh. 1st puri after rahoa says he is your God meditate on him. So do you consider your birth father to be god and do you meditate on him? Biggest sin of all is to knowingly twist Gurbani.
  14. Isolating tuks again are we!! Please have the decency to present full shabads and not what you want Gurbani to say. These scare tactics of getting others to follow oppressive practices will not work. They only put the person, who is using them into a deeper pit. The problem here is certain people hold on to certain cultures regardless of their religious robes. Rakhri was a norm for the punjabis. Today for many kids hugging and kissing the opposite gender as friends is a norm, but the punjabis will go to many extremes to call it perverted. They will yell at their kids and talk bad of the families doing the hugging and kissing. Well your backwards rakhri is no better than the extremely friendly way to greet friends. Kids will create their own traditions and at the end of the day they are rituals. How much harmony did Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji keep in the family by rejecting to wear the janeu? What about the fact of not taking over the family business? These are clear teachings punjabis only bringing out when it benefits their ideology. Rakhri is based on a man promising to protect a women. Showing she is too weak to protect herself. Yet these same people are fine with women being in punj pyare. It's not about following the Gurus teaching, but being on the popular side of the argument. There is no value in the rakhri as gurmat teachings uplift the oppressed and stand in defense of the weak. The rakhri event for punjabis is similar to the renewing of vows for the white marriages......i confessed my love to you once, but now i'm going to do it again cuz its the norm. Punjabi lives do get boring with nothing to do and we need to fill this emptiness with hindu rituals. However, why not teach kids gurmat principles from the start. That might work and no need for scare tactics. Tell brother and sister respect each other, help each other, share, give back to the community, and most important meditate on Vaheguru. Punjabis can celebrate everyday with punjabi sweets and give each other money. I think the kara is more permanent than the rakhri string. I might be wrong, but can someone please take both to a science lab and perform the right test on both. How many Sikh children today have taken off their kara because the child is bothered by it......can't play sports, it itches, it leave stains on the arm, it hits my hand when i walk and it hurts, etc. Come rakhri day and the arms of these children are full of strings. No one remembers a rakhri, they remember the unfair treatment given to a certain child and this is engraved in their minds. The teen acts out and could careless about the second class citizen sister. Soon the young adult is disrespecting the parents and telling them you raised me this way. Now eat what you have sowed. I just explained 99% of punjabi families in the above two sentences. Common phrase among punjabis.....the kids to as they please today. This is said with their tails between their legs, scared their son or daughter don't come in and put the parents in their place. Yet rakhri is the foundation of a strong relationship between brother and sister and keep harmony in the family.
  15. This guy advice is very far from Sikhi teachings. He tells others to be carefree and really trust God. However, comes October Guruka Singh is harassing the world Sikh community for donations for Sikhnet aka pay his salary. Where is the this carefree and trusting God advice for himself? Video after video, website ads after website ads, countless e-mails sent to collect donations and they set a deadline to reach. Why not trust in God and if God wants others to make donations to Sikhnet, then God will deliver the donations. He contradicts himself in his own advice. Tells the person looking for a husband to trust fully in God and stay carefree, but then tells the listener your job is to recognize the right one. Recognizing the right one according to this carefree opinion would mean for the person to trust in God and God will deliver the right one to the person. While expanding on this idea of recognizing the right one he continues to trip over himself and says its a marriage of two souls and gives examples of what marriage is not of. He list spirituality being a good example of what marriage is about. Well what spirituality does a soul have when the soul is Vaheguru? He says one thing and then back tracks on it. Clearly showing he does not have the Guru's knowledge. Guruka Singh is know for pulling things out of thin air and adds false value to it. Don't let the white turban and white kurta fool you. Also, he is know for teaching anti-gurmat teachings like mudras while doing simran. He is not a good source at all for advice. Stay clear of this guy.
  16. This incident doesn't add up. Why would she go up a flight of steps just to drop Sri Guru Granth sahib ji? She is not making any real attempts to conceal herself. It almost seems like she wants people to know what she did. This happened in the UK and she is well aware there are cameras allover the place. Since she brought the Saroop to the gurdwara. She very easily had access to a Saroop. Maybe her parents had one her car driver's parents. This whole incident is super strange.
  17. I completed 4 sets in a full workout session. 1 set for me was Run 50 meters 5 burpees run another 50 meters and another 5 burpees. This was one set. Rest for 45 sec to a minute and do another set. Incorporate it into your workout. Works even better.
  18. Since mods or admin need to approve my post. I want to ask you, how is the above post related to the topic being discussed? Go to sikh awareness forum site and this poster directly insults others because he can get away with it as he is the root admin there. Here he covers the insults because he fears the possibility of being put on quality control. I'm not saying the insults are directed at me and don't care. If we want to make this site better these types of post have to be weeded out. This post brings no knowledge of the topic being discussed. Mods this is my formal way to report the post and ask if such post are accepted on this site.
  19. You have not clearly ever done Langar di seva with utmost attention to your surroundings. Amritdharis were given the seva of Langar and Sri Guru Granth sahib ji because they took the oath to uphold and defend gurmat when they took amrit. Hence the punishment for an amritdhari was harsh when they did a wrong act. Physical punishment was used if appropriate. People from many backgrounds believe many things. More than on one occasion their was nails found in Langar donated by someone, in the rice. Say these nails weren't found by the cook. Who will these arrogant calling everyone else egotistical people blame for letting it happen. Thats right the committee and they will shake their finger for hours at the committee. Certain people will do other things to the Langar due to their beliefs. So how do you tell who won't and who will? The amount of manmat that many non amritdharis try to commit is only know my the granthi. Many times he's so fed up by this stuff, he loses complete hope in Sikhs. Sitting at a computer all day jumping from forum to forum calling maryada outdated and man made is childish. Secular government have set their regulations on who is allowed to cook in places that provide food. Guru sahib has set his regulations to keep everything clean and safe. All we can do is explain and if the other person wants to hold on to their arrogant views, let them.
  20. Exactly, the presence of kachi Bani does not automatically mean this Saroop is not from Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji's time. nor do we disregard the whole Saroop because of kachi Bani being written in the saroop. Neither does the presence of kachi Bani mean Ragmala is kachi Bani as well. Ragmala is in Kartarpur Bir and this is the earliest Bir written by Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji. Also present in Bhai Banno Bir. Also present in DamDam Bir. Also present in 4 Saroops hand written by Baba Deep Singh ji. Also guruvah, leave the group accusations out of this discussion because the other side can very easily dish out the facts, which will be very sour for you to swallow. http://damdamitaksaal.org/code-of-conduct#h13-raagmala
  21. This is for everyone who wants a challenging workout. Basically the workout is simple in the sense of what you need to complete it. Find a track or a soccer field or even a basketball court. Easiest will be a track of 400 meters. The workout involves splitting up the running portion into 100 meters or 200 meters sprints. Even a 100 meter stretch can work, but its harder to keep count of how many sets you have completed. Many of you may have heard of this workout or even have done it. So your input on how to make it more challenging or how to help beginners is appreciated. The workout is: Run 100 meters at sprint speed and stop. Immediately do burpees (everyone will be at their own level, so figure out how many you can do without running and do half in the interval circuit. Say for example I do 5 burpees). Once you have completed your burpees. Get back up and run again for 100 meters at sprint speed, stop and do another set of burpees. Keep the circuit going till you can't go anymore...gas tank is empty. Before you start make sure to stretch the whole body. Burpees done without stretching will cause major abdominal pain for the next few days and even leg pains and upper torso around the chest area. Also finish the workout with a cool down. Which can be walking till your heart comes to resting rate or jog and make sure to stretch at the end. I'm add a link of how to do a burpee for the beginners and those who feel uneasy of how to perform one. Others perform the burpee in a different way, which can be easier or harder. But I have found this way is the best for a total body exercise. http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/burpee The jump at the end can be changed to make it more difficult or taken out to make it easy. There is no right or wrong unless your form is not correct, which can cause more pains later on. Have fun with it and don't over exert yourself. Build up to a goal. Anyone who wants to post their workouts is encouraged to do so as this may motivate others to get up and try it. At the end you may be ready to faint, but you will look back and be impressed at your progress of cardio, overall fitness and health.
  22. Let's recap what poster Jassa has said about Dhunda. He started off with the above. Then states: Then takes few steps back on favoring Dhunda: Those who have done santhiya of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji learn really fast not to make assessments up of people before understanding where a person is coming from. The years of doing santhiya bring a person a lot of wisdom and this wisdom shows in a person writing, speech, and personality. Making hasty or blind statements about people and topics becomes a thing of the past. But then again there are the students who sit in the back and don't really care to be in the santhiya class and only do it so they have that title.....I have completed santhiya. Like Panthpreet Singh wears Guru Sahib's Bana, but he truly is twisting the Guru's Bani to make money. Explain this to me, how can Dhunda have great knowledge of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji when he denies Naam Simran. Anyone who can read Gurmukhi can tell anyone here, Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji tells us to do Naam Simran. Because all you have to do is read the pankti. It can't get more simple than this. Next going on the same point Jassa made, Dhunda has great knowledge of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji because he speaks of social evils and derawad. The reasoning here is faulty. There are many secular individuals who speak against social evil's and derawad, yet they have not even read Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Does this make these secular individuals knowledgeable of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji? Reading Gurbani a person is taught about equality of the genders. In santhiya classes this becomes reality and wouldn't shock a person later when they hear it from a self-proclaimed professor. If Dhunda had great knowledge of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji he would not have joined two lines of Gurbani on separate angs. Such mistakes don't happen to people who have great knowledge of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
  23. This poster has been a member of this forum since June of 2006. He has written 2438 post in a time period of ten years. This shows he's been exposed to the information regarding dhunda and Panthpreet which he is asking for. I don't buy this naive act for one Second. Anyone who is inclined to find out about dhunda and Panthpreet can simply do a youtube search with the relevant terms. Being a troll on this site has not helped this poster in the past. Won't help him today either.
  24. Panthpreet and dhunda violate Akal Takht sahib maryada every time they have said Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji is not Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji bani and is a panthic issue.
