  1. Any political leader is going to be a mess for their "own" people in the current social climate. I think we're way, way down the pecking order of priority. Just watch and see I suppose.
  2. Someone should put on a play called 'The Mucha Monologues.' Darn it, I should've copyrighted it.
  3. Understand the nature of this particular world and the nature of the beings that inhabit it, i.e. us, and you'll understand why there can never be peace and unity in one family, never mind peace amongst races and religions with conflicting ideas of existence and truth. The core concepts of religion are sound and noble, unfortunately they just aren't compatible with human nature. A few pockets of goodness here and there simply isn't enough to affect widespread change.
  4. We do most of the damage ourselves. I don't doubt Indian sources have lit the torch paper, but the rest is on us. It's time we took responsibility for our weaknesses.
  5. Lots of Muslims are getting wise to this joker's act, and are rightly embarrassed by his shenanigans, lol.
  6. A few blacks had the audacity to suggest black on black crime is a myth, lol. I can't believe the level of denial and scapegoating in some people to reach that conclusion. It's like places such as Chicago don't exist.
  7. This is what happens when people with a tenuous grip on reality are force fed overwhelming propaganda on a regular basis. The well-adjusted individual tries to get to the truth by researching and learning, whilst the gullible take it all in without question, and then proceed to right the wrongs they feel are being ignored. There's cause for the blacks to be aggrieved. To deny that would be foolish. But what they fail to realise is even in their own BLM movement they are viewed as collateral fodder by the higher-ups, who themselves are ironically mouthpieces for others.
  8. You're comparing a militant insurgency, in an undeveloped country, fighting against a political regime hell-bent on erasing a particular race or religion vs a considerable number of bad apples in an apparently civilised society. The differences are apples and oranges.
  9. I never said they weren't. What I said was that if the shooter had grievances against corrupt and racist officers, he should've done his homework and found those who'd escaped punishment in the face of overwhelming evidence, and taken them out if he felt compelled to do so. Morally, it would've been a much more ambiguous scenario. Instead, what's happened is innocent police have been killed, and blacks are now under the microscope. This is what happens when you allow your passions to overwhelm you, and don't think with a cool head. Such behaviour is no better than a wild animal's.
  10. Sounds ominous. I wonder if he was saying something in Punjabi, or generally playing the fool as some Singhs have an unfortunate habit of doing.
  11. Might be. The tone and subtext of the statement seemed to imply that the Singh was doing or saying something that set people off. If he was singled out by virtue of his appearance and nothing more, then that statement should be revealed to be a deliberate distortion designed to shift the blame onto the Singh simply for existing. Now is not the time for the Singh to be a wallflower and turn shy. He needs to clarify what exactly happened, and then identify the goreh who saw fit to confront him.
  12. I hope the Singh comes out and clarifies the "behaviour" that supposedly was making people uncomfortable. If it's revealed that they lied in order to lend justification to his ejection, they should be shamed and lambasted in the media. Disgraceful.
  13. I don't endorse the above take on the situation. The officers killed were most likely decent, good people doing their jobs. Their killing was symbolic, not a targeted act of revenge. Vengeance would be specifically targeting cops who'd killed blacks and not been punished. The officers that were killed were soft targets. I've observed a definite sense of a reduction in "enthusiasm" on the part of certain voices on the Right who were criticising blacks for raising certain issues that, imo, they have every right to discuss. That's not to say the BLM movement isn't misguided and divisive - because it is - but it's unfortunate the spokespeople for BLM are questionable to say the least. As a cause it is ideologically sound, but its representatives are not to be trusted. Of course, this is the ground level interpretation of what's happening, and we mustn't forget - without wandering into conspiracy theory territory - that there is almost always a larger "game" being played. The man who funds BLM should be a cause for concern.
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/08/dallas-police-shooting-gunman-kill-white-officers He was military trained after all.
  15. Hate will burn you up. If you're not ready to forgive, then at least try to forget. It will seem impossible, but you'll feel better eventually. The pain never goes away, but you learn to live with it. The balm that will soothe you is at hand, always.
  16. I heard that Punjabi druggies get high off shoe wax and sweaty socks. A Giani doing katha mentioned it once. Was he talking nonsense or is that true?
  17. Today's shooting might give some of the trigger happy officers food for thought the next time they're confronted with a tight situation. As terrible as it may sound, perhaps there's a few who need a reminder that if the law doesn't have the appetite to seek to punish those law enforcers who've genuinely overstepped the mark, then perhaps there are certain members of the public who aren't hesitant in doing so. It's a slippery slope fraught with danger, and it shouldn't have come to this at all. I have no doubt certain elements will capitalise on the mess caused by this situation for their own ends. BLM are a dangerous outfit, and certainly not the civil rights champions some perceive them to be. They're the kind to escalate not placate.
  18. Would it be classed as racist motives on the part of the cop who shot him, or just a poorly trained, mentally insufficient man who clearly can't deal with the pressures of the job?
  19. It's a Singh, most likely someone she hasn't met irl, or someone who isn't in regular contact with her, but someone connected to a group or sub-group these youngsters frequent under the guise of developing their spirituality.
  20. Let's hope this isn't an incident that incites a race war. As sad as it may sound, targetting solely police officers as opposed to indiscriminate shooting of the public points to the shooters being aggrieved at the authorities. Has anyone seen the video of the police officer shooting dead the black guy infront of his young child and partner? It's from a few days ago. The guy was completely innocent. He was supposedly - based on the account of his girlfriend and the cops - co-operating, being respectful, etc, yet an apparently touchy cop shot him 4 times. He bled out and died on the scene.
  21. https://twitter.com/kevvy_/status/751278291747631104 This video is close to going viral. The word is that the shooters seemed to be highly-trained. You can see in the video above how the shooter with the handgun, who kills the officer behind the pillar, misleads the cop and emerges in-front of him to finally shoot him dead. Apparently, that's an advanced military move that you don't learn from playing Call of Duty.
  22. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2016/jul/07/dallas-protest-police-shooting-live - Five police officers have been shot dead by snipers at a protest in Dallas - Six more officers were injured in the shooting, some critically Three suspects are in custody and are refusing to co-operate with police - One further suspect, who had been in a stand-off with police, is now dead, US media reports say - The protest in Dallas was sparked by the shootings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling by police in Minnesota and Louisiana
