1. I think it's because the systems for enabling it have been fractured. Parents prevent their kids from finding their own partner whilst relatively young (indirectly suggesting they will hook them up in due time), and then suddenly expect them to find a partner themselves in later age. By this time many have had secret relationships that have ended. What's left for them at this stage other than shaadi.com etc. and settling. Plus a lot of them will now have baggage about 'the one' that got away, and secretly pine for them.
2. I think women are unsafe in many parts of england myself. And there does seem to be a slew of murders along these lines lately. I spoke to young, mixed race relative of mine recently, and he told me many of his (mainly white) female colleagues at work, who've started to go out to the usual places post lockdown, are telling him that there is a new, desperate thirst by men, and many of them are complaining of being forcefully approached or groped at bars etc.
3. Or having a whimsical perception, usually stemming from inexperience and/or willful self-delusion, and probably a hormonally driven thirst which makes him incapable of seeing beyond the physical. And I actually believe these things can also stem from an innate/intrinsic drive in men to get women pregnant that they subjectively experience as 'romance'. Plus I don't agree with you, it's usually streetwise/worldly experienced people who have an inkling of watching out for 'red flags'. Even with that being said, in the long haul, anyone can get mugged off. PS - I don't think any human can actually think truly objectively.
4. I think you'll find that those type of women will 'like' <cough, cough> anyone for money......lol Plus what country are you in that has hoes on every corner? Eastern europe?
5. This might sound comical, but I seriously mean it: Any guys who don't have experience with women, get a female cat (a feisty one), let her be free to go outside: learn to understand and have a good relationship with her, it'll help with understanding your missus in future.
6. I think we are getting our wires crossed. I was talking about his much older first wife, who was a widow. From wiki: According to the most accepted tradition, Muhammad married at the age of 25 to his first wife Khadija bint Khuwaylid, who was a 40 year old widow. [3] She lived with him for 25 years. After her death in 619 CE,[3] he married a total of 12 women over the remaining years of his life. Khadijah bint Khuwaylid[edit] At the age of 25, Muhammad wed his wealthy employer, the 40-year-old daughter of a merchant, Khadija.[16][17][18] This marriage, his first, would be both happy and monogamous; Muhammad would rely on Khadija in many ways, until her death 25 years later.[19][20] They had two sons, Qasim and Abd-Allah (nicknamed al-Ṭāhir and al-Ṭayyib respectively),[21] both died young, and four daughters—Zaynab, Ruqaiya, Umm Kulthum and Fatimah. Shia scholars dispute the paternity of Khadija's daughters, as they view the first three of them as the daughters from previous marriages and only Fatimah as the daughter of Muhammad and Khadija.[22] During their marriage, Khadija purchased the slave Zayd ibn Harithah, then adopted the young man as her son at Muhammad's request.[23] Abu Talib and Khadija died in the same year. He declared the year as Aam ul-Huzn (year of sorrow).[24]
7. I don't know if that's true, because the famous one apparently couldn't read, so I don't know how he'd read the other one's writings.
8. Nah, I just think this guy is weird. Threatening suicide no less! What kind of man is that? Not: I'll leave her or I'll divorce her but kill himself. If that's not weird then I don't know what else is. I think the guy has no experiences with women maybe, and perhaps believes in some fantasy scenario when it comes to getting married? Not realising that he'll have to deal with mood swings, periods, extended family issues. Smelling your partners shyte when you go into the loo after them. Female type hormonally driven dramatics. Conflict between your mother and your wife over things men can scarcely grasp. Seeing your missus with no make up, wearing baggy sweat pants. Holding out on sex when he's randy. Then if he has kids, being covered in shyte, nappy changes, sleepless nights filled with crying; a big part of his income going on supporting the missus and kids. Real sh1t like that. I don't think he is mentally mature enough for a relationship myself? You can question a women's antics but that's not going to stop a female being female. If certain behaviour stems from innate, intrinsic biological/evolutionary factors that are outside the realm of logic (as men might know it), it's our job to try and understand it (or be constantly vexed). I'm pretty sure that's one of the (many) messages of CP too. That all being said, it's not like men can't be complete c**ts too. And personally I feel sorry for any women who has to deal with full grown adult man-child, who's been excessively pampered by his momma. This bit is a bit vague, you might have to elaborate?
9. If he's just going to kill himself on finding that out, that's unfortunate but fair enough. But don't start killing other people as well, including the b1tch.
10. If it's that important to you, you better be sharp. If you want to go for a beauty queen who's had guys buzzing around her from young, you might be setting yourself up for suicide. Use your brains to avoid this or you'll only have yourself to blame.
11. There is a massive shortage of HGV drivers in the UK, seeing as that's right up jut's street, they could jump on that? It pays well apparently.
12. Now the Lancet CANCELS women: Fury as leading medical journal runs 'dehumanising' and 'sexist' front-page describing females as 'bodies with vaginas' to placate trans lobby The Lancet has described women as 'bodies with vaginas' on the front page Critics have accused the medical journal of sexism and dehumanising women Term initially used in an article titled 'Periods on Display' published this month A leading medical journal has come under fire for describing women as 'bodies with vaginas' on the front page of its latest edition. The Lancet was accused of sexism and dehumanising women after it editors used the term, which was written in an article titled 'Periods on Display', on the journal's front cover in an attempt to be inclusive to trans people. The article, which was published on September 1, examines an exhibition exploring the taboos and history of periods at the <banned word filter activated> Museum in London and sees the writer use the word 'women' but also use the term 'bodies with vaginas'. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10029817/Fury-leading-medical-journal-describes-women-bodies-vaginas.html
13. I just re-read this after a decade (tonight). It's relevant stuff and has the potential to be a modern Panjabi classic. Read it if you can.
14. I can only go by my experiences as a child learning in a Gurdwara (even if this was a while ago). The provisions back then were 'woefully inadequate'. The cultural divide between teachers and children - enormous! But given the changes that have taken place since then with both understanding and technology, this shouldn't be an issue like it was before. There was no financial incentive for them to preserve it (which dictates what most apnay parents push their kids into), and all quarters tell us that it is an underdeveloped language, which is partially true because people haven't adapted it to the 21st century, and most writings are boring/irrelevant to diasporan children because they largely consist of 'pendu navel gazing'. I imagine initiatives like this are aimed at trying to rectify that? I've met a few Alevi Turks in the UK (who are descendants of a movement affiliated to Rumi's work), they have no idea about this and can't read their own texts. Some even didn't know about Rumi. But, what you're saying is right, but should we be surprised when gianis seem like crusty, out of date people to most youngsters? Also, when the following type of stuff is promoted way over any serious linguistic/intellectual type stuff:
15. How's the construction industry going on in Panjab? I see loads of other Indians, even here in the UK, doing high level jobs in that field, and they look like they've been trained back home. Why isn't this industry blowing up in Panjab? What about structural engineers, civil engineers etc etc.
16. Looking to contact British Born and Raised Punjabis who: 1) Are reasonably fluent in Punjabi 2) Can read and write Punjabi 3) Potentially have an interest in reading punjabi and possibly writing in it This year is the year that on a language census you could do your bit to help the status of Punjabi language. What my colleagues and I are interested in is looking for like minded British Punjabis who could help rekindle the use of Punjabi as a written and read language for the benefit and use of British Born Punjabis to help make this language last in this country. It is particularly important to Sikhs yet is neglected by western Sikhs who just about only speak it. Kulwant Kaur Dhillon is the President of the UK’s Punjabi Literature and Art organisation based in Southall and is actively looking for like minded people to help promote ans participate in reading by establishing book clubs etc I am supporting her in this as as yet the only UK born and raised Punjabi writer. In short we are looking for like minded individuals. Please contact me via here Or email Kulwant on kulwantdhillon@hotmail.com https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hdMSzhJq8zE&pbjreload=101 Just to give some clarity, the object of this article / request is to reach out to those raised in the west who can speak Punjabi and want to learn or explore either existing Punjabi fiction or want fiction in Punjabi created for them or want to be the creators. Punjabi is historically linked to being a Sikh, but also knowledge of Gurmukhi is needed to really understand the Granth for yourselves without the filter of others who may have their own reasons for not quite actually telling one what lies within. So for those interested in Sikhi this is to instigate a conversation between the young willing to learn Punjabi and native speakers who can pass their knowledge on. Hopefully a conversation will convert into new ways of learning Punjabi that will work for the western raised Sikh/ Punjabi (any religion). The goal here is not to accumulate likes for the article but for those who are genuinely interested in reading books in Punjabi to instigate Book Clubs locally and if not able to do that join a national group with the same interest. Currently we have Electronic media such as Zoom to enable that. Despite what I have said this must not exclude non British born but essentially is to spark interest in them in Punjabi. Kulwant Dhillon is the Padaan of Punjabi Sahit Kala Kendar in Southall and a conduit to British Based Native Punjabi writers, artists and teachers. Please contact her I myself am a British born and raised Punjabi Novelist who has become established over the last few years and wants to help UK Punjabis fall in love with Punjabi Literature and have access to books to read that they enjoy. My latest offering is Sindbaad a Punjabi Sci Fi novel, about which people can contact me. It is the first step in the effort to make Punjabi accessible for UK born Punjabis who can already read Punjabi. The second step is to encourage you to write stories in Punjabi. And hopefully we can create a forum amongst for this…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OoBPjTxDzk
17. I agree, so it looks like we're in a proper sandwich situation. Makes you rethink the whole supply chain to Panjab.
18. Academic who tried importing child sex doll from China avoids jail after police found child abuse images on his computer following customs tip-off Malcolm Young was put on the radar of Northumbria Police buying the sex doll 61-year-old's purchase was intercepted by Border Force officials, raising alarm Following an eight day long trial, a jury found Young guilty of all five counts An academic has been caught with child abuse images after buying a child sex doll from China that looked like his ex-girlfriend. Tech professional Malcolm Young was put on the radar of Northumbria Police when he attempted to import the 3ft2, flat-chested doll, with clothing and accessories, in 2017. The 61-year-old's purchase was intercepted by Border Force officials who told detectives of their concerns about the package. Officers visited Young's home in the East Woodburn area of Northumberland to question him about the doll and seized his computers and phone. The electronics were reviewed and officers uncovered indecent images of children on his computer that Young had tried to delete. Young, of East Woodburn, Northumberland, was charged with four counts of making indecent images of children and one count of tax evasion, concerning the doll. He denied his guilt and tried to convince a jury at Newcastle Crown Court that he purchased the small doll, not based on its likeness to a child but because it resembled an athletic female body type. Prosecutor Graham O'Sullivan told the court: 'He said he had ordered a doll that looked like an ex-girlfriend, that he had cancelled, and had not ordered any child sex doll.' Young had also claimed that the deleted images found on his device were not his but may have been made by people visiting his home while attending parties. Following an eight day long trial, a jury found Young guilty of all five counts. The court heard the charges related to one Category A image, the most serious, two Category B and 35 Category C. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail, suspended for two years, and was ordered to carry out rehabilitation and has been subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Also, he must pay £9,480 prosecution costs. At his sentence hearing today, Christopher Knox, defending, said Young, who had been living in Spain and has a boat there, made his money through tech industries. But Mr Knox added: 'He has had a very successful career that has been totally destroyed. 'He won't be able to be employed by anyone ever again in the fields in which he has excelled.' Judge Stephen Earl sentenced Young to 18 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation requirements. Young was even photographed with former Prime Minister who came to the opening of his company e-Therapeutics. The judge said Young had 'lost a lot', including a 'chancellorship at the University of Newcastle', due to his offending and added: 'His fall from grace is long and hard'. The judge added: 'This whole issue came to light as a result of the fact the defendant had ordered what can only be described as a child sex doll.' Judge Earl said Young had claimed in his defence he had not wanted a child sex doll and had cancelled what he ordered, which was a doll he 'wanted to look like Dawn, his former partner'. Young was even photographed with former Prime Minister who came to the opening of his company e-Therapeutics The judge said Young had produced pictures of 'Dawn' during the trial, who was described as a 'small adult'. Detective Constable Alison Felton led the investigation for Northumbria Police and said after the conviction Young thought he was 'above the law'. She said: 'This has been a long and protracted investigation involving the making of indecent images and the importation of a child-like sex doll. 'We are committed to making sure that offenders are brought to justice, no matter who they are or however long it takes. 'Young thought that he was above the law. He has taken no responsibility for his crimes and the jury saw through the preposterous account he gave to the court.' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10025733/Academic-tried-importing-child-sex-doll-China-avoids-jail.html
19. No, but we'll find other ways to enable access. I noticed a few site that have downloadable versions of his works. Let's see if people take to the ones already posted first though.
