  1. Well, given the UK military's recent track record in Iraq and Afghanistan, they'd better be ready for an a55 whooping. A tiny a55 country like this is gonna take on Russia....sure If they'd try it, it would be by hiding behind a bunch of other nations, especially Amreeka. Face it, these fudhoo's glory days are behind them.
  2. If there is a growing affluence there, I'm sure a lot of entrepreneurial Sikhs are going to take full advantage of it.
  3. This isn't about preserving some sort of Panjabi racial purity, it's about having strong Sikh families regardless of the racial backgrounds of the parents. In fact I can see a lot of positives with having parents of different races as long as both have genuine love and commitment to their Sikh identity. And given the globalised society many of us live in now, it's something we want to get used to.
  4. Why Is Russia Doing This ? Sending 150,000 Troops To Fight Isis. Trying to contain the mess created by people like these and making sure another regional tyrant isn't 'overthrown' by the west with even more horrific consequences than those happening as we speak.
  5. Genie, don't be a dumbo. Don't get into a to and fro with him/her. That's EXACTLY what he/she/it wants. Leave it.
  6. Look, this talent-less fudhoo has to eat, and the only way he's thought of being able to do that is to become a white man's proxy/mouthpiece, who tries to conjure up scare stories about his own community in order to get paid for articles etc. etc. We all know goray have a LONG history of patronising sell outs against their own people - this is just our current version in the UK. He's like a willing piece of the orientalist machinery that likes to represent the occidental as threatening and uncivilised. Don't over estimate his importance - or give him too much significance, that is exactly what he feeds off. Instead just use him as a text book example of how low and servile some apnay can become in order to make money and pander to the mainstream in order to feel some sense of kinship/belonging. Sad really. On the positive, seeing the contrast beween Jugraj and Sunny - I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a coconut brother - though, I don't think mine would ever dare go as low as Sunny. If he ever did, I'd punch him in his face a few times to make him see sense. lol
  7. Not like elementary grade English then huh? This guy is either a retarded Sikh, or a sullah in disguise. Let's not waste time on these clowns.
  8. Bozo the clown. Talking about other people's 'loose grasp of the english [sic] language' whilst perfectly demonstrating an inability to use capital letters appropriately. lol Well, let's make sure we don't end up in the same boat as them in the near future because of imprudent clowns like you. You're the type of person that doesn't see how fighting abroad in European wars in WW2, set us up for slaughter in Panjab because we didn't have our eyes on what was going on under our own nose, socially and politically. And it is 'their religion' by the way. As you were so keen in pointing out other people's 'loose grasp of the english language!' Look at that: you got an English lesson on top of being schooled on your foolish worldview. Lucky you!
  9. Why would I run around solving another communities problems when there are umpteen issues within my own that need addressing? And if you're such a model Sikh why don't you go and fight for Yazhdi rights? Like they haven't got enough men to fight their own battles. It's about common sense, not what idiocy you are bringing into the mix. And that mess in the middle-east is the direct result of Europeans and Americans interfering in the region and playing king-maker by the way. What do think I am, some dumb peasant that runs around cleaning up white man's mess after them? Clown. As they say in Panjabi, sweep up under your own bed before you look underneath others.
  10. If I had my way, I bury you up to your waist and stone you to death....lol The only person who wants a conversation is you. Go talk to some of your imaginary 'Sikh friends'. Troll.
  11. Even then, they seem to choose sullay BF, or at least convert the guy that they have (they still generally big up Islam anyway, when they get the chance). Plus I'd say that the threat of being killed is probably strongest in the Pak community, not in other sulay ones like Gujus or Bengalis, where they might get beats but murder is rarer so it seems more complex than that. I think there is more than a little truth in Ranjeet's last post too. Do you never feel that we spoil our girls in comparison to some other communities? Sometimes I feel it may be that we give our girls a lot of freedom in fear being labelled misogynistic, and that they exploit this. You know our girls are infinitely more confident in confronting their own males than MANY others.
  12. What I don't get about that is that sulliyan more often than not grow up in an environment that is infinitely more belittling or condescending or even oppressive towards females, yet they rarely have half the complaints that apneean do, why is this? I don't think we should eliminate ego on part of apneean (or apnay for that matter) when they do stupid stuff. Just continually pointing at familial failings doesn't explain a lot of what I've seen. As well as the insecure, sullay also target the polar opposite: those jumped up sisters who might be a little pretty and have grown up spoilt, and curiously feel nothing they do is wrong and have contempt for their own menfolk. You know the type.
  13. See how they like to play the whole wholesome innocent thing. Like this clown can't pick up a few books or just read online if he is really interested in Sikhi. But nah, he comes here with his hidden agenda acting all masoom. If you've got so many Sikh friends as you claim, why not just ask them? Never once has this clown answered my points about the need to put his focus on his own people who are up to all manner of nasty ish. Instead he comes here trying to come high and mighty about not being welcome. Take the hint Abdul. You must be a really sick individual.
  14. WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING US SAYF??? If anyone wanted to learn about Islam they'd go to an Islamic site. Personally, if I was in your position I'd get the hint. Look how creepy and persistent this guy is. He reminds me of one of those Muslim guys that keeps pestering Sikh girls even after being told no a dozen times.....
  15. Geez, if you can just get out of there with a decent reference, count yourself blessed. I've seen this a few times, so it isn't that uncommon.
  16. Give it a rest mate. Why are you here bothering us? Go preach some humanity closer to home - your brothers REALLY need it. I don't think you're remotely interested in Sikhi. I just think you're being nosey and working like some PR agent for your people. You want to do something positive: teach some of your brothers that rape, murder, beheadings, grooming and abuse are low life activities. How do you expect any of us to take Islam serious when you haven't even made any serious attempts to civilise your own people, but you want us to 'understand' how great and misunderstood Islam is... phew.... You got some front.
  17. In the past few years I've heard about a couple of apneean converting to Christian in London and still keeping their Sikh names. Often having Kaur as their surname. Work colleagues have told me about at least two pastors now like this now.
  18. This is a really interesting paper which explores changes in a particular village in Panjab in relation to caste, it does well to describe the typical attitudes and practices that often pervade at ground level; as well as offering a good example of how things can change for the better. Remember this represents one exceptional village, the progress reported here doesn't necessarily reflect changes in other pends. I hope people reading this can get a better understanding of deeply ingrained discrimination in rural Panjab so we can tackle it, instead of being in denial about it. Enjoy and learn. ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਨ ਆਖੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ Everyone says that God is the Greatest of the Great. 19. Mate, my advice is to seriously consider leaving before he cooks up some scheme to have you sacked, or you get depressed from his constant blocking of your promotion. I've been in a couple of places where I've stubbornly stuck it out in similar circumstances and eventually had to leave as they started to concoct defamatory stuff to get at me. When that happens you find all your workmates turn coward and look the other way in fear of their own jobs. lol Dog eat dog world out there.
  20. I got to say, they also produced the movement that tried to combat apneean whoring out the place or getting pimped out too.
  21. The closest some might get to sufi is listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
