  1. Sikhs are becoming fat which is disturbing.nothing looks worse than a fat person. It's common to see a fat sikh with rolls of flab visible under there top. T shirts normally cling onto the flab and outline it. Fat women with flappy arms need to stop wearing sleeve less tops it's a horrible sight I personally believe a fat person whose flab is leaking onto more than one seat in a train or bus should pay for two tickets
  2. Haha yeah I agree jatts, tharkhans, sainis, chamars etc in general all look the same. Punjabi dalits in general look different to dalits from other parts of India. The only caste which does look different are some khatris. Other than that you can't tell the difference. Well I'm from a jatt family but the surname is common among Khatri people too in fact i think it's originally a Khatri surname but then again my family are jatts. I'm guessing some point my ancestors moved to the pind and started doing farming and that's how they became jatts lol
  3. How does you being a bi prevent you from being close to guru ji? or prevent you from being a sikh? Sikhi is about making guru ji the center of your life, everything you do is to please guru ji, obviously it can be challenging at times. Now, obviously going into physical relationships before marriage is wrong as guru ji has told us not to do that, and im sure you know that too lol. Its never too late when it comes to Sikhi Guru Nanak dev ji forgave some of the biggest sinners that he came across during his travels, guru ji even forgave kauda who belonged to the man eating cannibal bheel tribe of south india( i think the tribe is now extinct) and made him into a gursikh. EVERYONE is a sinner, not just you alone, Guru ji is always ready to forgive you but you need to change your ways first.
  4. Don't know if she's a former Christian but i saw a black singhni at my local gurdwara yesterday! i told my friend and he said that shes been coming here for about 3 months now, he said when she first started coming she used to have her hair out but tie a ramal but recently she started wearing dastar. He said shes mostly in the langar hall helping the ladies do sewa, i never go langar hall so id never seen her befor, but he told me that she comes nearly everyday.
  5. Been listening to this a lot recently
  6. I really don't understand it either, but i think younger people care less about it. I really don't care who i marry but my mum tells me to only marry someone from the same caste but other "higher" castes are acceptable haha! Part of me is tempted to marry someone from a "lower" caste and then see how family/relatives react lol hopefully waheguru ji has planned for me to marry someone of a "lower" caste, we really need to put an end to this caste stuff Caste is <banned word filter activated> anyway, my family name belongs to two castes, how the hell does that even make sense
  7. Rap music was initially about bringing people out of crime, positive social change etc and now look at it! drugs, alcohol etc Government and other powerful people control the media and entertainment industries and they use it to dumb people down.
  8. From what i know the drugs come from Afghanistan, then go through Pakistan and then into Punjab and then from Punjab spread throughout the country. Afghanistan and Pakistan are probably even more badly affected than Punjab is, heroine addiction is out of control in Afghanistan. Funny how most of Afghanistan has been bombed down yet the poppy fields have not. Governments make a lot of money out of drugs and drug trafficking, So why would Punjab government care to tackle the issue? Even here in the UK government is making a lot of of tobacco and alcohol. The UK has a huge problem with alcohol and smoking right now if the government really cared they would do something about it but they wont because they profit from all this. The whole thing is a scam! Same with the beauty industry, it makes billions and it uses celebs to endorse an impossible physical beauty standard which then your ordinary dumb girls are going to try and achieve by buying those products. The government controls media everywhere, and media has really dumbed women down. All these moisturizers, anti ageing are <banned word filter activated> Same goes for baldness/hair loss. Of course they know how to treat it, medical science is so developed now, scientists can even clone things, their even thinking about bringing a Wolly mammoth back to life yet they don't have a cure for baldness lol
  9. I think he asked to meet up with Guru ji but then died so that meeting never happened, i think ... He shouldn't of messed around with the Marathas either, he hated them lol The battle of Deccan with the Marathas lasted like 22 years i think, that was a huge blow on the Mughals and Aurangzeb knew that he was leaving behind an empire that didn't have much time left till its collapse.
  10. But whats the point if your gnna end up having a crap relationship with your kids. Iv never really been close to my dad so i know nothing about father son relationships but iv been respectful. Id like to think that when i have kids that they will be open with me and have a good relationship. Mums are a lot better lol
  11. Iv seen one black sikh in Ealing a few months back
  12. Yeah i agree with that, i think parents should be like "friends" and not like an army officer. Its important for parents to understand their kids. Parents are bringing their kids up how they were bought up themselves in pinds which was a completely different time, place and culture. obstacles that kids face here and situations they are in are completely different to the ones that our parents faced in India. So there are a lot of misunderstandings. Another problem is a lot of Punjabi families are dysfunctional, angry dads, alcohol, swearing etc kids will pick these things us. Our environment and surroundings influences us. I also think Punjabi kids are more closer to their mothers than fathers! There seems to be a problems with fathers

  15. No i don't watch bollywood lol the last movie i watched was Jodha Akhbar which ironically was about a hindu rajput princess falling in love with her mughal muslim husband, that movie was released years ago and i haven't watched any new movie since. I have watched a few new Punjabi movies which were Ok,
  16. Yeah i agree, some Punjabi families are far to protective. There is nothing wrong if your kids are going out to eat, watch a movie etc as long as it does not involve alcohol etc Some punjabi parents don't even allow their kids out of the house unless its for school lol! so once you get the freedom, hell breaks loose and you start doing everything under the sun.
  17. I once remember listening to bhai Manvir Singh talking about a girl who was crying and telling him how she comes from a amritdhari family yet when she started going uni she started drinking, clubbing, cut her hair and even slept around. he said she was crying and full of guilt. Im not trying to bash anyone im just saying that the cause of the problem is much deeper and not just down to who grew up watching bollywood and who grew up going gurdwara everyday, thats just the surface.
  18. I think it just comes down to personality and family. There are many girls in their 20s out there who grew up with bollywood and not knowing anything about sikhi, typical punjabi family and they are good girls, yet in the gupt section there is a girl from a amritdhari family who has struggled with drugs, alcohol, sex etc so you cant really conclude that growing up with little sikhi influence and watching bollywood movies will have a bad influence while a religious environment at home will make the kid better, because that clearly is not the case! We get plenty of people from amritdhari families doing messed up things posted in the gupt section on here.
