  1. Could you imagine dying, and Vaheguru says You did so well, you turned to me in all ways.....but remember that pimple hair you broke....not gonna fly sorry dude. Rebirth. For the pimple though soak it with a hot tea bag.
  2. Probably all these statements are true. Signing only takes a moment. The petition is super close to goal.
  3. Thank you! I was kneading the heck out of it.
  4. They are referred to as Devte? Is that the only name for them? Ah, I found something on this board, I'll educate myself from that. Shukria.
  5. If properly represented in government, I think there is room for sustainable, manpower driven, economies. But it requires that people have access to land and are able to use it. Population increasing as automation also increases is a scary concept though.
  6. This makes sense. Thank you. I should read more gurbani. I read mainly Japji Sahib, and daily Hukam and some topics don't seem to often come up in the Hukam.
  7. Turned out amazing. My roti don't seem to always puff. I'm not sure if I cook them at too low a temperature or don't let the dough sit long enough. If the dough sits overnight I seem to have better luck. I guess the bread was puri because I deep fried it? The turka dhal was phenomenal.
  8. By hell do you mean another go at this horrible place maya? Or does sikhism actually have writings regarding hell?
  9. In Japji Sahib, it says that Shiva and others worship Vaheguru. Does this mean that supernatural beings, mistakingly called gods by people (in this context, no offense hindus), are part of Vaheguru Ji's creation?
  10. Nice I'm going to start cooking right now, while my dough sets. Yeah teflon is a killer. My friend pat almost died from various illnesses linked to teflon. Instead he's lived years in pain.
  11. I will definitely look into that. I cook in cast iron.
  12. As the purity of the IRA movement declined the support for it declined as well. Also, since protestants and catholics have made peace under the Republics flag it makes it unsavory to talk about. I use the term IRA loosely, which isn't really the most accurate way to speak about the various forms of resistance, but it's the easiest way to get the idea across to people. My kin have a history of fighting against the British that goes back 700+ years, my family's involvement ended in about 1900, so we actually never were involved the IRA, but it's historical predecessors.
  13. Probably. Sigh. We know that Sikhi is open to all races, but you have to be careful when white people start taking your culture. Are they starting these gurudwara just because they are good Sikhs and the community needs a gurudwara? Or are they suffering from a lack of culture and trying to appropriate someone else's, and feel the need to be in control themselves out of lust for power and ego? I'm not sure if this is true, but isn't the moderator of Sikhnet a gori? He seems to do a good job.
  14. I've been making my own rhoti, and dhal, but all the recipes I find on the internet are gori recipes by vegans and stuff. Any authentic tips on making rhoti, dhal and other traditional dishes? Maybe some tips on pakora and sauces? Salad dressings?
  15. They definitely did some questionable things. One they turned to crime, victimizing fellow Irish, to support the movement. And two they started to target British civilians with terror attacks. My family's involvement pre-dated the bomb use. They were snipers, which is a much cleaner way of fighting, due to the reduced collateral damage. My family never supported bombings, but it didn't seem to strike home for the British until then. It makes me less judgmental of other cultures that resort to terrorism. As much as I don't support those type of means to an end, I always ask myself why does this person feel they must? Despite our history supporting the movement, any time a bombing would make the news my grandmother would cry and tell me that wasn't our way.
  16. I think they would first cry over the fallen children of Ireland. I think they would appreciate the homage to their fallen brothers who died for the cause. The call to end the violence though, will fall on deaf ears in the IRA until Ireland is unified. Éire go Brách
  17. Somebody is confused by every post I make lol. What is confusing about the above two posts confused people? Enjoy some music. The lead singer of the cranberries died today. Her art brought focus on injustice and violence and was a call to peace.
  18. If this prophecy stated that the Khalsa would reach new heights, I'd find it more believable. If it isn't in the Guru Garanth Sahib or a documented quote of a Guru I'd be skeptical period. To say the Khalsa weren't really the Khalsa sounds a lot like appropriation to me. Like when christians think they're gods "chosen" people, because the jews were the "chosen" people, so Judaism only existed so that white anglo protestants could be gods chosen people. Then they further limit it to only people of their sect are the "chosen people". So unless you're a member in good standing of one of five churches in Alabama you're going to hell type logic emerges. Seems a limited way for the infinite to operate right? All the infinite creation, space, and time of Vaheguru Ji, and only a negligible percent of people are saved? I don't buy it. Usually this type of speech is used by usurpers to culturally appropriate someone else's history. That being said, everything about this is over my head. I'm ignorant of it entirely. But hey, if Vaheguru sends Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderwale to do anything, I'll be right there with him.
  19. A lot of guests posting on this topic, which is great. I'd love to be able to read what you have to say, but waiting for post approval takes a while. In the mean time why don't you fine people sign up for a registered account? Takes about a day to be approved and from then on we can hear your voice instantly.
  20. Who is the most sant sipai like that isn't a Sikh? A girlfriend is a good idea too. Why would the panj object?
