  1. I think the peotry that is used in Sundri is written by Bhai Veer Singh Ji.. he also write some other novels like.. bijay singh, satwant kaur
  2. Someone could only refute those points raised by the other person if you tell us of them.
  3. vaaheguru vaaheguru vaaheguru vaaheguru vaaheguru That's amazing.. Thanks for sharing it Singho!
  4. I saw his interview on tv and it looked like he doesn't trim his beard.. it's just tied hardly! lol.. jk And, he's married to a Hindu lady named Anupama Singh.
  5. vaaheguru ji ka khalsa vaaheguru ji ki fateh Interesting topic but it only shows how little faith Sikhs have in their Guru these days... Go back to the time of the chote Sahibzade, all 4 of them were younger in age than you but look at how much faith they had in Guru Sahib. Look at the shaheed of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das ji, Bhai Dyala Ji, Baba Deep Singh Ji, Bhai Mani Singh ji, Bhai Taru Singh, and thousands of other Singhs/Kaurs who chose death over leaving Sikhi. Now today when we happen to face a little problem we go on blaming the current situation. Actually there's nothing wrong with the world that we live in, or the society that we have around us, the fault is only ours because we have lost all the faith in Guru Sahib. This is why our condition is so bad.. You are free to not wear a dastar, thread your eyebrows but how long can this continue? Someday this will have to stop... either now when you are alive.. or afterwards.. in Guru Ji's darbar.. We are all part of the Panth and it's our responsibility that we stand up for it. If we all were to take the easy way out then who will work for the betterment of the Panth? If you think the time is not right to practise Sikhi, what will happen to your kids? If we won't solve these things now, they'll have to face the the same problems. So the only answer is to take a stand for Sikhi and have faith in Guru Ji. Do not turn ur back towards Guru Sahib just because you think you will find it hard to find a job or anything else. Rest is upto you, and as others have said, times are much better now. I personally know many Singhnees who not only wear dastars to work b ut also proper baana. And they live in the western countries. So phain ji, if you think you will occur any problems then do ardas to Guru Sahib. Our world is not limited to one or two jobs, when Guru Sahib does kirpa it will be hard for you to even take care of all the blessings that you get from him in your in your current and after life. You might think that not wearing a dastar is an option for you, but what about Singhs? What are we supposed to do? Take off our dastars aswell, wear pony tails, just like our sisters are doing? What will happen to the image of the Panth if that happens? Remember: jb lg ^wlsw rhy inAwrw ] qb lg qyj kIau mYN swrw ] jb ieh ghY ibprn kI rIq ] mYN n kroN ien kI pRqIq ] Remember, its a warning from Guru ji, that once we start drifting away from th e values of the nirmal Khalsa Panth, our end will be near. Rest is upto you to decide. vaaheguru ji ka khalsa vaaheguru ji ki fateh
  6. Bh. Amolak Singh Ji (AUS) and Bhai Prabhjot Singh Ji were there at thre funeral... not sure about the kirtan
  7. Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji was a sevadars of Guru Sahib. Whether he a brahmgyani or not, it's only Guru Sahib who could know, but on a historical note, it was Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji with who Guru Gobind Singh Ji used to play in his early years and later Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji wrote some rehitnaame, some which can be found in Bhai Pyara Singh Padam's famous collection.
  8. Or drag it over any video player and it should work. Or open it through "See all files" selection when you click on File-> Open file.

  10. Where you pust 192.169.0.2 in DC++ you actually need to put your router's current IP address which won't be starting with 192.168. Also, be sure you have actually assigned correct IP in the router configuration site. You can find out the IP of your computer by typing ipconfig in Windows XP run box from Start Up menu or winipconfig (I believe) for Windows 98. You can find the IP of your router by going to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com
  11. You need to connect using Active mode to be able to transfer from other users who are in Passive Mode. This is the mode which is used by most users on hubs because most high speed internet users have routers. Bascially to connect using active mode, you would need to forward a port to your computer's ip (not your router's ip) and then connect using that port. Check your router's manual to see how to do this. If this sounds confusing you can msg me on the hub. I'll probably sign on there tomorrow (if I remember ), either check up with the id Bhuchangee or SonofGuruGobindSinghJi.
  12. One thign I didn't like about Firefox is that it even stores delicate information like Credit card numbers  and the bitstream font installer used on sites like sgpc.net doesn't work.
  13. Actually I installed service pack 2 without having a clean system and didn't come across any problems. You might want to check on your manufacturer's website and see if they recommend service pack 2 for your computer model or not.
  14. That is really really awesome veer ji!!! Thanks for making this  One request, next time when you make something awesome like this, can you use larger document size? Thanks!!
  15. Personally, after I installed the service pack 2 many of the windows programs that I was having were solved. If you follow their instructinos and clean up for computer before installing it you shouldn't have any problems.
  16. I posted this on tapoban.org a while ago: http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.ppa?f=1...50&t=7#reply_50
  17. Well personally if I was one of those abhilakhis I wouldn't have liked it much. And the commette had no right of doing that. We don't know how long someone is going to live so it's best to get amrit thari as soon as possible.
  18. Khalistani, go look in any Gutka Sahib printed by Damdami Taksal, you will see Rakhea De Shabad being titled seperately from Kirtan Sohila/Sohila Sahib.
  19. Where do you live? If there are regular amrit sanchaars anywhere nearby just go and see the Punj Pyare. You don't need to make any appointment.
  20. Like others have posted on this thread, Gyani Amolak Singh Ji was an eminent figure in the Panth. His contributions to chardi kaala of Sikhi, especially that in abroad, can never be forgotten. It was bascially Gyani Ji who started parchaar of Sikhi when Jathebandis like Akhand Kirtani Jatha or Damdami Taksal weren’t established in foreign countries. Besides doing seva at first ever amrit sanchaar held in UK, he was also the one who organized the first ever raen subaae which took place abroad and he did seva of doing kirtan 5 hours contentiously. Apart from teaching the youth and elders kirtan, he organized many amritsanchaars, kirtan smagams and Akhand Path Sahibs. We are blessed that we have so many smagams and amrit sanchaars in western countries now and for this we defiantly should be thankful to Gyani Ji. He was blessed to do sangat of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji closely for numerous years and we are blessed too for we had him in the Panth as a leading figure for many years. All thanks to Guru Sahib for blessing his panth with such a chardi kaala Gursikh. Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Pyare!!!
  21. vaaheguru ji ka khalsa vaaheguru ji ki fateh Before I start anything, let me request everyone to not raise questions which have been previously discussed. If we are going to use this tactic to put weight on our side of the discussion then we aren't going to learn anything. So if you are new to this thread, please read the previous posts because most of what was raised today has actually already been answered to on this same thread. And before anyone clicks on the 'Post Reply' button again, I want you to think about the meaning of this shabad: pWc isMG AMimRq jo dyvYN qW ko isr Dr Ck pun lyvY ] pun iml pWco rihq jo BwKY qW ko mn myN idRV kr rwKY ] puMn sMg swry pRBU jI sunweI ibnw qyg qIrM rho nWh BweI ] ibnw SSqR kysM nrM Byf jwno ghY kwn qW ko ikqY lY isDwno ] iehY mor AwigAw suno hy ipAwry ] ibnw qyg kysM idvo n dIdwry ] iehY mor bYnw mMnY su joeI iqsY ie~C pUrI sBY jwn soeI ] Please post your views on this shabad when replying to my post. Gurvir, I personally would not pull the chaur sahib from any person. And this is not what anyone is propagating through this thread. We are only explaning how it was like traditionally so IF ANYONE OF US is ever stopped from performing any seva we know it is because of our own personal fault and not because of anyone else's ego or anything. And about any mona doing chaur sahib seva, it should be understood to the wazirs of Guru Sahib what is right and what is wrong and they should have enough guts to stop any anti-gurmat or beadi of Guru Sah ib taking place. And if everyone understood their job, our Granthi Singhs should be the ones explanning to the 'mona' person why he can't do seva 'yet'. But ofcourse with pyaar! If I had to be the one explanning why, I wouldn't mind either. I personally dont' hate any mone just because their cut their hair. But when it comes to rehit for many thousands gave their lives away, I think we should preserve every part of it. So far you guys really haven't explained how Sikhi is open for everyone. Yes, come and listen to Gurbani sit in sangat, eat langar but freedom is not given openly to everyone to call themselves a Sikh. Guru Sahib has shown the marag of 'sir deeje kaan na keeji' to his Sikhs. One who walks through this road of giving your head to Guru Sahib like the Punj Pyare did, then only can one call him/herself a Sikh.Lets not forgot that Guru Sahib has told us: so isKu sKw bMDpu hY BweI ij gur ky Bwxy ivic AwvY ] If Guru Sahib clearly says that only those who follow the will of Guru Sahib is a Sikh, then why do we keep on cradicting Guru Sahib's message? Isn't it his will to be sarab surat? What about the above Shabad of Dasam Pitta where he tells anyone who cuts hair to not even show his face to him? Isn't it our duty to ensure that Guru's wishes are not ignored? What's more important? Guru's hukam or anyone's pe rsonal sentiments? Sikh is one who is a student. So if anyone wants to become a Sikh, he has to start off from the first level, like anyone else. So come and listen to Gurbani and think about relating it to your life. haha.. and what would you do if I requested you to follow Guru Sahib's maryada? beat me up? This tells us why you even posted under this thread. And also makes it clear why you guys think otherwise when it comes to seva of Guru Sahib. If anyone has ego programs then obviously they cannot be helped. the proof is right there in the quotation marks. That's a REHIT NAAMA. I guess this is it... and nice post niranjana.
