  1. hmmm....i dont think theres ne thing wrong with yoga. I really like it! I think its a great way to learn how to control your mind, so when you read bani, you dont just say the words with your mouth, you listen to them with your ears and understand them without your mind wondering off to various places. And I know lossa ppl who, while doing yoga do simran. They connect every breath with Waheguru...just my thoughts tho...but i didnt know it was anti gurmat....
  2. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh! I would pick being a Sikh now, in 2005. Yeah I know we're in kaljug, and ppl are drifting away from Sikhi..but thats all the more reason for me personally to wanna be a Sikh. Its a challenge to be different, to excel in your spirituality, but i think it makes you a stronger person and all around better GurSikh in the end. We can really test ourselves during this era, or time, and ask ourselves..are we truely happy?..are we the model Sikhs that Guru ji wanted us to be...we're faced with so many obstacles, and so many hurdles within our community and ourselves, and ya our halat is bad..but i think that allows us to really do some soul searching, look deep into ourselves, and be the person we wanna be...I pik being a Sikh in 2005 cuz it really tests our love for Guru Ji, and helps us become better and prominent GurSikhs. :TH: Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh
  3. Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh Well girls dont wanna take amrit cuz..they "wanna live life to the fullest" and "try things" like drugs, and drinking and stuff, and if they take amrit they cant do that!! They also dont wanna take amrit cuz they wanna cut their hair, wear make up, shave, and go to clubs. Also..if they do take amrit..they're afraid no guy will ask em out LOL!! Ya..Sangat also has A LOT to do with it. I know when I first took amrit, all of mah frnds were non-amritdhari, and id look at em and be like yaa i wish i could wear a skirt or w.e...ya i know i was stupid..but it all changes depending on the ppl u hang out with. haha u always hear gurls saying that they will take amrit later on in their lives, wen they have experienced everything and have gotten married and have had kids!! HAHAHA LMBO HAHA!! ya..theres my 2 cents... Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh!!
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I have never done it my self...but ive seen my dad do it... You have to do agni peta next...so we just usually take the kesh to the garage and do it there..(dont worry..the smell will fade away lol) Then you just take the ashes and spread them in a river. We live in Calgary, so we just take them to the Bow River. And yaa..thats abt it!!..hope it helps Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  5. In the Calgary Herald there was an artilce in which the headline stated: "Where NASA ends, the Sikh Bible begins" ..sorrry if its kinda off topic..but juss thought it was very interesting sidenote...
  6. Guru Fateh I took santhya a couple of years back, and I remember that we came to a part which explained how kaljug is going to end. I dont remember what ang it was on, but the bhai sahib that was teaching us translated it, and he said something along these lines: Another Avtar is going to be born (dont know the place where, either India or China), and hes going to get people back on the right track to God. There are going to be many battles, and hes going to win all of them. But, all this glory is going to go to his head, and hes gonna get ppl to start worshiping him instead of God. I guess once this gets to an extreme, a black scorpio is going to bite him in his sleep, and kaljug will end upon his death. I dont really remember the whole story, but its something along those lines.... Bhul Chuk Maaf Guru Fateh
  7. I dont understand y ppl are trying to defend dancing...If Guru Ji says its wrong, and if Guru Ji says we shouldnt do it, then why are we questioning him?? Are we better than Guru Ji??..I dont think so. I mean isnt it enough that we're dancing through reincarnations? Dancing gives us no spiritual gain what so ever. So why waste our time/energy engaging in it??
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! If you want to get good exercise why not do gatka??!! No spiritual gain is achieved by dancing, so y waste ur time and energy doing it? Will dancing get u closer to God? Will it make u a better person? Will it help you break ur cylce of reincarnation?? I dont know, I guess its your own choice if you want to dance or not, but this is what Guru Ji says about dancing: "...they dance and dance and jump all around, but they only suffer in terrible pain. By dancing and jumping, devotional worship is not performed..." "Jumping up and down like a monkey does not make the Lord happy" "Nachan Tapan Man ka Chao" "...O humble servant of the Lord, let your dancing be meditation on the Lord, Har, Har..." Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  9. wjkk wjkf If you have a outside wedding, where will the sangat sit??...I don't think they would wanna sit on the ground. You would have to bring chairs in, and thats not right!! wjkk wjkf
  10. where did you get this information from???
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Whatever happens...we should be ready!!! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
