  5. VeerJi, I personally feel that the natural flowing beard is the best way. I try to keep it open as often as I can. However, being in the health care profession, I have to tie my dhari to keep it tied. Gel is up to you, i personally use gel or hairspray. Gel or hairspray hasn't harmed my hair, it washes right out very easily and isn't as strong as Hair Fixer. Hair Fixer (Simco from India) I don't agree with, it stains your hair and it smells awful. But don't listen to what others have to say and do it for them. You should choose what is best for yourself. It does not look messy. Nothing looks better than a nice untied beard with a dastaar or turban on your head. :e: or :T: WJKK WJKF Sunny VeerJi, Please, I hope you are joking. Cut their beard rather than fix it? Please explain.

  10. WJKK WJKF Admin Ji, Can you please close or remove this topic from the forum? I didn't think that from the vast matrimonial sites available on the net, especially the ones from sikhi-promoted sites, that sangat would take this post so offesively and to the heart. This wasn't my intention when I started this thread. I just saw FUN in the title of the forum, so I thought that I would post something interesting to talk about, which obviously back-fired. I'm sorry to all those that I've offended by this post. Again, Admin Ji, could you please remove this topic, Thank you. Bul Chuk Maaf WJKK WJKF

  12. WJKK WJKF Veer Ji, I've edited my post and taken out the relationship part. I'm sorry to have offended anyone, but it was completely un-intentional. WJKK WJKF
  13. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat Ji, Just wondering how you all met the person you're with right now, whether you're married or engaged. Whether by love, arranged, internet, some other way!? Should be some cool stories. We can start with mine. I met my wife a long time ago when were little kids, but we never hung out or talked, ever. I mean we used to see each other at punjabi class, and gurudwara, indian parties, sikh camps, but never ever talked... I think I said like one sentence to her like 10 years ago. And then one day, we just started talking and one thing led to another, and then finally we got married... It's just weird how the woman i was destined to be with was there the whole time, but I never even knew it.... Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  14. k will do that... thanks for the advice.. WJKK WJKF
  15. You make a good point about helping people who are less fortunate, but I don't think that wearing a shirt with a khanda on it is a waste of money. First of all, you have to wear some sort of clothes. Second, you're promoting your religion, and the khanda is a sikh symbol. Yea, help others, I agree, but there's nothing wrong in being proud of who you are. Every time I see a khanda, I am reminded of Miri and Piri, and everything else that's great about our religion, Every time I see any other sikh symbols, I"m reminded of how great my religion is. There's nothing wrong with it, be proud. We hoist a nishaan sahib, with a khanda on it for a reason, to display who we are, and to remind us of why we're sikhs... Fateh
  16. WJKK WJKF Ok, thanks guys, I'll try doing that... WJKK WJKF
  17. WJKK WJKF Sangat Ji, I wanted to share something really funny that I encountered a few days ago. I was using a sikh chat server because I was feeling a little sick and was pretty bored sitting around. And they asked me why my name was sikhness. Then they asked, are you really that religious? And I said well yes, I try to follow GuruJi's path the best that I can, and the reason my name is sikhness is because of a website that I help operate. Then I told them the address, and while they were checking it out, they were like... WHAT IS IT? IT'S LIKE YOU SEND LETTERS TO EACH OTHER!! THEY'RE LIKE LETTERS OR SOMETHING! I DON'T GET IT!! Sangat Ji, this person was talking about the forum. I thought it was really funny, so I thought I'd share it with you. WJKK WJKF
  18. Any kind of game, can be an educational or just for fun type of game. Something small doesn't have to be complicated, like these flash games that are so popular these days. We can help with graphic design of the game. If you know how to program or make flash games, please join our staff and help us out. Thank you ji. Waheguru
  19. WJKK WJKF I was wondering if anybody out there is fluent enough with computer programming that they can make an online game, educational or non-educational. This game will be put on our website, www.sikhness.com. If anybody knows how to do this, then please pm me and we can start talking about it. It really would be a big help to us. Thanks! WJKK WJKF
  20. WJKK WJKF, I was watching CNN yesterday, and I heard a story that said Bin Laden may have possibly died of Typhoid about a month ago, or will die shortly. They didn't talk of any sources other than a French Newspaper. I was wondering if anybody else had heard this or if I was just hearing things... Thanks. WJKK WJKF.

  22. Darbar Saheb Replica in Cardboard Deep attachment and a strong sense of belonging with the Sikh religion, culture and symbols have prompted Kanwalpreet, a language student from Ludhiana, to develop a replica of the Dabar Sahib complex in thermocoal and cardboard. Kanwalpreet has tried his best to replicate each and every part of the complex to make it look like a mini Darbar Saheb. It took him one and a half years of hard work to develop the replica. He said it was primarily with a purpose to propagate the Sikh culture and its symbols. “I have tried my level best to replicate every detail meticulously and minutely”, he said, while adding in a humble manner, “But I am not sure to what extent I have been successful”. Kanwalpreet said he would be developing more and more such replicas to be displayed at public places for the people who had no idea about the Darbar Sahib complex. He pointed out, “Darbar Sahib is not only a holy place from the Sikhs alone, but for the people of all religions...it is a heritage site and reflects different facets of the Sikh culture”. The Golden Temple, the holy sarovar, Akal Takht, the langar hall and other buildings of the complex have carefully been included in the replica to ensure that it give a real “miniature like look”. He said, “I have tried to be as elaborate as possible within the limited dimensions of 16 by 12 feet”. Kanwalpreet is likely to develop more such replicas not only of the Darbar Sahib complex, but also of other historical Sikh gurdwaras as well. “By this way I hope to propagate the great Sikh culture and its great symbols”, he said, add the that he felt immense joy once he saw his replica complete and in full form. He received lot of appreciation for his work which, he said, had given him a lot of encouragement. Kanwalpreet has multiple interests. He has studied French, Russian, German, besides English. He wants to study and master a few more languages. He said although it was difficult to find time for such varied and multiple interests, “but your passion always makes you perfect time manager”. 23. WJKK WJKF I think it's more than just people "waking up". Everybody knows what's going on in the world. The whole world is upside down right now. Wars going on, countries being bombed to put them 50 years or more behind where they were presently (Lebanon). Bush and his people think that they're doing such a great job fighting and killing hundreds of thousands of people every day, trying to catch a terrorist. All these people being killed aren't terrorists, and the few who are, he can't find. And for every 1 guy that dies, I'm sure there are like 10 more that vow to defend his family member's death by turning into a suicide bomber. Iran's president and Venezualan's president, are speaking out because they finally have grown the guts (for lack of a better word) to speak out against something which is so obviously wrong. It may start a revolution against the U.S. if it continues like this. I'm so amazed when I turn on the TV these days because there are people here in America, that are so mad about what the two foreign presidents said. It's a matter of actually listening to them about what they're saying. They have so many points. Nobody wants to listen to what they have to say, everybody wants to criticize. What leaders lack these days is the idea of being able to put themselves in somebody else's shoes. Tell the American leaders to walk a mile in an Iraqi's shoes... or in a Lebanese man's shoes... And I don't know how accurate these polls are either... I don't think that asking 100 people about the president can reflect the whole American population's views overnight. Sorry about the long reply. I get a little emotional when talking about this subject. None of God's people should be treated like second-class or third-class people, when we're all one. WJKK WJKF
