  1. Leh Birmingham accent is like a squealing chooha! Yerrr why do people who speak in Birmingham accent speak at such a high pitch? Even Baba Sukhi Ji whilst speaking hits some hellish notes that could burst the ear drum. O and I hateeee it when they elongated certain words and letters and then go off on one at high speeds!
  2. Yes its getting ridiculous now! Loads of people into their 30's are just waiting for things to happen, espically if they come from an non-Amrtidhari family who have already given up on them i.e he/she has taken Amrit, no chance of marriage now. The only people getting happily married are from Amritdhari familes, the rest are waiting for someone to fall from the sky! Thats just from what I have observed anyway; with parents giving up hope and no-one match making, I dont actually see how two people are ment to get together...if even the thought arises its thought of as PO! Also parents are pretty modern today, Ive heard guys say my mum expects me to find someone... how is the Gursikh way to do that one then? Now Discuss!
  3. He has servere hypertrichosis, we shouldnt laugh at his disabilty...back in the day people used to put them in freak shows and laugh at them...we shouldnt do the same. Just saying.
  4. People who marry each are consensually doing so! An Animal being married to a human aint consensual because we can never know what the animal wants, plus "marriage" is generally a human thing...we are more evolved to be able to control our basic instincts and adhere to monogamy...I wouldnt be surprised if she gets a bun in the oven and the baker is the neighbourhood dog.
  5. not possible to have children with another animal the offspring would never survive! Genes are too different to gel.
  6. HE doesnt pay Dowery the GIRL does!!! I wonder what she gave him...rabies?
  7. Which leads to more Laughter! Win/Win situation. Plus I usually say to the person "Oh your never gonna get it man!" with a look of pity!
  8. Thats soo trueee! When I saw him there were some people that couldnt speak or understand English but yet still laughed, sometimes when you dont even understand you get the vibe and other peoples laughter always make me laugh...even if I dont get the joke! Laughter is a universal Language.

  11. Yeah you'd fit right in on Orkut  I use Myspace to have discussions with Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims...theres some good groups out there! and I actually made good friends after chatting to them for years in group forums, also you can make profiles private and I had myspace from back in 2003...so before facebook. O and theirs always new things relating to Sikhi on Myspace like tracks and poems and books and T-shirts etc...alot of buisnesses have myspace profiles. I use Facebook cos its cheaper than text and I can find out who's going to which event and wether I really wanna go annddd I dont forget birthdays anymore! I went on hi5 cos of peer pressure but its emiii now, and I deleted it while back
  12. Those are the big fat textbooks!! We had to pay £15 each to take that home!! I don't understand them... £15 for two years is worth it! and you only need to read sections that apply to your question and module... this textbook should be an easy read after a while! Used to be my bedtime reading for fun  I lourvee this book!
  13. Have you heard of Haralambos and Holborn; Sociology Themes and Perspectives? I didnt go to any of my Religion and Education module lessons and I got full marks because of this book! It has everything and anything that your teachers knows and more!!! Get it from bookshop pronto. as for a 20 mark question depends how quick you can write; this question is soo vast could write a book about it lol Work on contempoary social policies bought under New Labour like... working tax credit (2003) and Child Tax credit (2003); These laws gave low earning families an incentive to send the mother out to work as it gave a contribution to childcare costs...while both parents were working. These policy included Single parent families...so it has been an influence on the family etc etc. You can argue wether this has been negative or positive in conclusion. and policies under New Right... Child Support Agency (1993) which ment that if the father/mother decided to leave the family they'd still have to pay maintance, which might have caused families not to break apart as it'd take a bite out of the leaving parents wages...so the goverment kinda put a financial deterrent to stop families breaking up. and then you can talk about negatives and how unconventional families dont get the same support i.e gay families, old people and single-parent families espically under New Right. Ummm I suppose I best stop before I right the whole essay out lol but get that book and you can chuck in views of feminists, New Right, New Labour and studies done on effects and put some filling in your sandwich! I hope I didnt confuse you!
  14. Yeap I got full marks in all my AS Level exams, how can I help? unless peacemaker sorted you out already.
  15. Today I lied to my friend that I couldnt go out for her 21st bday meal by saying reles are coming down from scotland (which they are!) and parents wouldnt let me go but really I stayed in because I wanted to watch Liverpool play in the Champions League on TV. :sady:
  16. hai hai! Where did all the non-UK based Jantha come from? I think a few people need to get banned!
  17. Forget Pictures In My local Samosa shop there is a Murtee of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and in my local Cash and Carry there is a Murtee of Baba Deep Singh ji, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh ji and I suspect their expanding the collection
  18. This Temple is very Controversial even within the Hindu Dharam... It bans all low castes and foreign people which means for white people belonging to ISKCON its a bit of a pain. Here is a Powerfull Hindu Institution that freely promotes and upholds its Caste and Racist Ideology and they do this via scriptural support apparently. Here's a Gora Hindu voicing his disgust at the policy found there.
  19. awwww...poor kids got embarassed.
  20. I was watching Zee Music and some vid came on made by Simon Jones (I think) and the singer is Ramesh/Rakesh...and basically its taking the mick out of a character called Chan Singh and hes full Keshdhari (long beard) with a Khanda round his neck trying to get into a club running after a girl and he basically gets shown up by Rakesh/Ramesh (the singer)...now Im all liberal and that but even I thought it was OTT. I tried looking for it on youtube but couldnt find it! You will have to see it to understand.
  21. ^^ need a degree to understand lol, I love the sociological terms just thrown in!
  22. After a read through a dictionary! Yeah man!! :TH: You studied social sciences?
  23. Seeeeee! If some girl didnt have 4 boyfriends could we tell such a story with this analogy? therefore I conclude that girls having 4 boyfriends aint so bad because we can learn from them as they struggle to juggle them. 1 will always be neglected And that is what I learnt from this story
