  1. Anyone got any cheap recommendations? thinking of traveling in First 2 weeks of March and return in first 2 weeks of April. I cant seem to find any good deals ... why is travelling to Amritsar so over priced compared to Delhi?
  2. when you say "Asian Culture" do you mean the whole of Asia including China Japan etc?
  3. I was reading up on sociological context of this out of interest recently on why there arent many Asians playing Football (soccer) in the UK; even a recent BBC documentary hinted at the same conclusion that the culture of Sport in the west doesnt sit well with the Cultures of Asians. For example your average lower league football team celebrates a win with a piss up down your local pub, or for a new player there are drunken initiation ceromonies. All Sports Socities in the top institutions around the UK have regular Piss-up bonding sessions... beleive me Ive seen them! Loughborough Uni, Brunel Uni, Bath etc who produve UK Athletes. It also explains why Asians generally dont feel comfortable going to sporting grounds either where there is regular swearing drinking etc.... The Asians that have made it through either dont practice or have deep rooted punjabi culture going on (for example) or there has been a local inceitive within their own respective communtity which barely get investment... no one is investing in sports centres in Asian Areas compared to "ghettos" where Apnay dont live. And off course Parental expectations...even Monty Panesar had to complete his degree before he was allowed into Sport... but this isnt the biggest Problem... its a Clash of Cultures. How else would you explain so many Apnay in Cricket? where the culture and investment is different compared to other sports.
  4. :D Yes I am talking about the cheek to cheek kissing... here's a vid about it. Even people I have just newly met do it. I think its just a new craze going round as people get more Europeanised... Im sure it wont be long before you'll all be at it! Some of your suggestions are gonna be awarked to implement... Im gonna try grabbing their arm with my left hand; thats something I never used before.
  5. From what I have seen of Jatt world and Ramgharia Kom most of the people on there are weirdos and remind me of "Apna" who are intolerant, ingnorant and "Racist" towards practising Sikhs. I say "Racist" because they consider themselves as a seperate and superior Race compared to others and find it funny mocking Sikhism and claim to follow the "Jatt"/"Ramgharia" Hybrid religion; whatever that is! If one is able to even slightly challenge their mindset in a respectful manner they find it amusing to abuse, swear and then finanlly block the questioner. This is the product of previous generations drilling Jattism etc into youth and now we end up with this sad lot that are full of massive EGO and Pride... ignoring what Guru Ji says. I agree that families follow some sort of jaat still but the people that run and majority that post on these sites are something else! Your average Jatt/Tarkhan who understands Sikhi knows there websites are just werid!
  6. I was wondering wether people could lend me some advice as to how to deal with Air Kisses as a way women use to greet or say goodbye. I usually put forth my hand to shake but they usually come in and follow up with a kiss aswell and sometimes plant their lips on my Dhari which I find really cringy! Is there any body movement I can take or something? if they usually try to follow up the hand shake I kinda make it into a hug but then they end up kissing my neck :D Any Polite ways to suggest Im not comfortable with Air Kisses? I know some European people who do it twice each side! Or am I being overly sensitive?
  7. About the Atta; the intent is different. We dont follow the Ahimsa doctrine, if we truely did we would eat hardly anything. We dont go out there intentially to kill bugs so we can eat... IMO.
  8. ^But Shouldnt we have the ability to determine which is a higher State of consiousness? we cant form the same relationships we have with dogs with a carrot for example... And where does one stop? Whats classed as an Animal... would you support the consumption of other primates who share very similar DNA to us? Some would veiw that as canabalism... back in the day some humans were seen as Animals and meat therefore lesser form of life. I beleive Humans are evolving to a vege diet (also according to Einstein) after all we did used to eat raw meat which we've evolved out of. Also out of Interest was your steak the by-product of Chatka preformed by a Nihang Singh? or did you just pop into your local supermarket? Just a trail of thought there. :D

  11. ^thats the thing...all the illegals I know personally have a pretty comfortable living in Punjab; But I suppose there are some that struggle. And I agree with Shamshere they allured here by looking at how we act in India... I have many relatives that come here illegally but didnt really have to. and I speak Queens English!!! :D You commoner! :s
  12. All the Illegal Imigrant Sikhs I know have come UK via Italy and Greece... and some KeshDharis I met in India decided to settle in Italy for a "better life" but they could only get jobs in agriculture and thats after they cut their Kesh. Most Illegals work in Italy and Greece as berry pickers etc getting very low wages untill they earn enough to give to an agent who will take them across Europe at £10,000 sometimes... Ive heard some sad stories about Guys dieing in European Forests and running across motorways to having to stay hungry for weeks hiding out in Factories. Even heard stories about them becoming sex workers :D In London these two Punjabi guys jumped out of nowhere seeing a singh and started begging me for money as they had Euros only and they were all cut etc was really bad. I gave them bus fair sent them to nearest Gurdwara to eat something; I still wonder where they are now :s If anyone sees them just when they've come; you can tell from their face that they have been through alot to get here... but is it work it? 50p a hour some get; whilst living in cramped rooms always in fear. I wonder how many have died trying to get through.
  13. Congress is a political Party in India whilst Hindutva is an Ideology followed by the Political party BJP and groups RSS, Shiv Sena, VHP etc. Congress dont nesscarily follow Hindutva. Wiki it!

  20. Sorry for not keeping concerned people informed. The Situation has been sorted the Army people were very sorry for the misunderstanding, the main trainer guy (watever their called ) did not know about the concessions made to Sikhs...but its all sorted now! as fas as I know anyway!
  21. Thats been standard for ages, I got greif from Punjabi (sikh) lads in Secondary school, thats why I sometimes mentally seperate the "punjabis" and Sikhs"...just because their Punjabi and have a Sikh background dont mean anything to me; their the same as everyone else. I was the only Keshdhari in my year and for a bit the whole school, I got more respect from Religious Muslims for keeping kesh than the "apna" If I didnt have such multi-cultral super group of friends (none apna ) I would have really felt isolated. I was lucky in that sense.
  22. S = Sarpanch, his anger makes me laugh...and I appriciate his Youtube work I = ISDhillion, one of the reasons I got into Sikhi. I respect him alot. N = Namstang, he confuses the heck out of me to the extent I cant sleep cos I keep thinking about what he said and sometimes I just dont beleive in his views but his posts do educate me alot aswell as give me brain ache. G = Guest, in the Gupt Section...alot of interesting topics H = Heera Singh, his love for Sikhi is inspiring and another person that inspired me. Cant think of names beginning with numbers so Im just gonna go randoms 1 Banda, got to mention this guy, my Pacman dushman and joka of the forum. 9 Peacemaker, one of the reasons I joined this forum...I love it when he argues or goes through his monthly bitter/angry mode, still he has a funny sense of humour. 8 Papi aka EmiJeha, I didnt like him at first he told me off for asking too many questions and put me off the forum for agess but hes alright now. I like it when he gets bored and causes controversy and I enjoy sending him hate mail 6 JustME, I enjoyed the ding-dong Peacemaker and JustME had for a while, I think Peacemaker was going through his bitter mode again , I like reading her posts as thier inspiring. aww if only my name was longer I got soo many more people to Thank and talk about!
  23. I heard Shiv Sena just chickened out and just burnt some more effigies within Mandirs, as thats the only place they felt safe enough to do it on the 14th. Punjab carried on as normal. Hooraah!
