  2. Do ardaas.. ask for forgiveness... make it heartfealt... Guru Sahib will know if it was an accident or not.. ask for something like this not to happen again... in the future.. be more aware.. try not to eat from outside.. if u must, then ask questions; make sure the dish ur eating doesn't contain things u don't eat... this is why we must be VERY careful and try to keep away from eating from outside, as u never kno...
  3. Good reply... cold water wakes ur body up... allows u to stay awake for amrit vela and be wide awake.. warm water/hot water is soothing to the body, has a better chance of u feeling drowsy/fall asleep in the morning...
  4. great posts by malkeet singh... we can't even get our panth straight, how we gonna run a country? look at those runnin sgpc and doin seva at akaal takht... they've turned the panth into a joke.. lets get our internal issues straight first, before we even THINK bout havin our own country..
  5. Just do ardaas to Guru Sahib that it never happens again... he knows it was a mistake.. jus be more aware next time and read ingredients on anything u eat.. Guru Sahib knows it wasn't intentional, just ask for forgiveness...

  8. My Bana is my panj kakkars... and my love and respect for Guru Sahib... my thankfulness for being put on the path of Gursikhi... that is somethin i have on me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... and nobody can take that away from me.. at the end of the day... wear whatever u feel comfortable in... but be modest... be practical... don't judge others based on wha they wear.. focus on ur own Gursikhi Jeevan... (not directed at anybody... jus in general) I highly doubt Guru Sahib cares weather I wear jeans or chola... i think i's more about where our mind is.... wha our intentions are... etc... for example, there's many people, youth especially, who see wearing chola/kurta as somethin 'kool to wear' or a 'fashion' ting... i'm sure they're nah impressin Guru Sahib... Guru Sahib wants ur mind and soul pure; thats what 'impresses' Guru Sahib.. personally, i think sikhs as a whole are more concerned about wha's on the outside then wha's on the inside... why are we even tryin to 'impress' anybody? we shud'n be tryna 'impress' Guru Sahib... everythin we do, shud be done for Guru Sahib out of pure love and faith... not to 'impress'...

  15. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7149322.stm Fresh probe into India politician Jagdish Tytler Mr Tytler has denied the allegations A court in the Indian capital Delhi has ordered a fresh investigation into the alleged role of a former central minister in anti-Sikh riots of 1984. The court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe the alleged role of Jagdish Tytler, a month after a case against him was closed. However, a witness said recently he saw Mr Tytler lead a mob against Sikhs. The riots, sparked by the assassination of PM Indira Gandhi by Sikh bodyguards, left more than 3,000 Sikhs dead. Mr Tytler is a MP with the ruling Congress party, and has consistently denied any role in the rioting. 'No evidence' In November, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India's top central detective agency, closed a case against Mr Tytler saying there was "no evidence" or "witness" to establish that he had a role in the rioting. However, Jasbir Singh, who lives in California, recently claimed that he saw Mr Tytler lead a mob on a Sikh temple in Delhi during the riots. Three Sikhs were burnt to death in the attack on the temple. Mr Singh, who lost 26 family members in the rioting, left the country after the incident. Now the court has asked the CBI to carry out a fresh investigation into Mr Tytler's alleged role and submit a report by 16 January. Mr Tytler was earlier implicated by a judicial commission set up to investigate the 1984 killings. The report, by retired Supreme Court judge GT Nanavati, was the ninth inquiry commission into the riots, and was set up in 2000 by the then governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is now in opposition. The inquiry found "credible evidence" against Mr Tytler and recommended further investigation into his role. Mr Tytler submitted his resignation as a minister for expatriate Indians after being implicated in the riots. He said he had resigned to his "name cleared".
  16. so is there a difference between gurmuiK and gurmuK??
  17. there was an interesting discussion yday in the chat... sum1 was sayin that the 'padd ched' is incorrect there... as it shud'n be: gurmuiK ijnI nwmu n pwieAw ] rather it shud be: gurmuiK ij nI nwmu n pwieAw ] the latter seems to make more sense... which wud translate to: 'that person who is not gurmukh, has not obtained the naam' buh.. how do we kno when its 'ijnI' rather then 'ij nI'??
  18. lets do more vichaar on the meaning of 'fear' in this shabad... i don't think it means that we shud necessarily 'fear God' in that sense... more that, we shud fear losing that 'connection' with HIM... etc...
