One of the reasons goat meat was popular is because its lean high protein meat. Also its easy to do jhakta to a goat with one chop. sheep and pig is difficult to kill with one chop as their neck is alot bigger so requires alot more strength and skill to jhakta it.ie you only have one strike to the neck to jhakta it clean off. Which is difficult with a larger bigger animal. So goat was the natural option as a kirpan would do the cut easily with one blow. Obviously pakora nakh has probably wet his pants reading this. All faiths are right. We as Sikhs have no right to criticise how people follow their religion. Guru Nanank Ji Clearly states 'If you are a Hindu. Be a good hindu. If you are a buddist be a good buddist. We belive all faiths can reach God. Obviously If you belive Sikhi is the right choice for you then we welcome you. There is no silly concepts in our religion such as non belivers are going to hell like christianity and islam. That is what attracts droves to our faith.

Why are Modern Sikhs so unhealthy? In terms of their diets. We even have so called highly respected Sikh Leaders and teachers. Yet their waistlines are alot to be desired for. One one hand they preach about religious morals and values. Yet one of the biggest sins is greed. They are greedy and eat to much. Its a common site seeing overweight Sikh males and and females being couch potatoes. Eating unhealthy and not exercising. It ia obviously not all our fault as advertising is also to blame. Ie kfc, mcdonalds, nandos. People are addicted to food. One of the biggest help to mental and physical wellbeing is excercise. Yet todays youth are addicted to video games, television shows. ect. It is okay to induldge now and then. But Definantly lack of excercise is causing all kinds of health issues in the community.

I saw a black sardar Sikh for the first time a couple of weeks ago with Turban and beard. Was amazed to see as dont see that everyday.

Oh rite did not know that was the case. Yep leyton/leytonstone mostly white, black and muslim area. Same as Walthamstow. Although theres quite a few Hindus. Make shift mosques and madrasas. I actually use to live in leytonstone many years ago for a short period. I always wondered if there was a gurdwara there. But did not come across one. I noticed there were many small old style churches dotted around everywhere even in residential streets. Did not come across many Sikhs there either apart from a few here and there. Seemed like a strange place as hardly no sangat at all. That is unfortunate to hear as it ia the only gurdwara in Leytonstone I think. Leytonstone from what I recall was a mostly muslim and white area. Maybe it is jealousy as we took over the Church. Which they see as people of the book.

I think it that comes down to various factors. one is Muslim girls would risk her life trying to marry a sikh. As they come from very strict religious backgrounds. Hence many would not consider it. 2ndly Sikh males are unlikely to go ahead and marry a muslim girl because is is seen as a shame on the family to marry a non Sikh especially a muslim girl even if she converts. 3rdly. Muslim girls by nature are more into their faith. They realy hate the idea of marrying a non muslim. They are taught to hate non muslims. Why would they marry one? Many Sikh girls go by the concept that you cant help who you fall in love with. So you should marry anyone you love regardless of religion. They also end up dating non Sikhs so its more likely they will fall in love. As theres more opportunity for it to happen. They have already taken the step of dating the muslim. So alot more chance of something happening. Muslim girls avoid any risk of falling in love with non muslims such as Sikhs as they dont date Sikhs in the first place. So they avoid the whole risk of falling for a non muslim. We should just carry on doing what is right for us.
