Fateh... Some good comments here, but you have all seemed to missed out on a very important point here. Baba Vadh Baghada ( ;-) ) sihoo is not a gurudwara. Search this forum and see what had happened to the one in London (Southall) a few years ago when 2 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib were taken away from it. I dont need to remind you of the histrory of these.... Anyway some good discussion, Question is we can get pressure mounted and get the Gurudwaras to oblige to a marriage (so called) ACT, but how will it be administered and enforced on places such as Dera's Baghdad ..... Fateh. ....

Fateh..... I sympathize with whole situation.... Without bickering. Can some one clarify: - Why did the gurudwara give the go ahead for this to go ahead. Surely it could have been stopped well before! - The VP of the commitee is shown in the video - Did he not know before this was coming. Understand the family sentiments that their big day has been ruined (With all due respect to SGGS ji) but I repeat the point that unless the gurudwara was tricked into this surely it could have been stopped before. Fateh.. A good measure and effort by all means. Just a small point - the website says it is launching on 22nd March, which should be 22nd April. Why have these niggly little errors. Pay attention to details.....and other things will fall through.. Fateh . . . .

Thanks for the history. Appreicated My point is - Why are they selling it? What do they need the money for? The site is freehold, and with Cross Rail coming to sthall, the site will be worth a lot more in future. If they need the money then why not raise it on it. Why sell it? Plus it is a GURUDWARA. And a lot of sangat enjoys going there. All these hidden deals, means something fishy is going on.

One more thing! Some very good thoughts on the heathrow express passing sthall and everyone else noticing this. Cross Rail is due to start in 2019 and will stop at Sthall as well. The land will become absolutely goldmine on its own. But lets sell it now before we can really benefit from it. I can just see it being purchased by another Sect/Religion (Nothing against anyone) and doing everything that we could not do Then we will say - why did we not think of that. I am so so angggrrryy.............

Fateh.... Thanks for some constructive comments. I fully agree that Common sense esp in Gurudwara Pradhans....... Oh well! enough said. The problem here is that the Committe heads have made this decision of not just closing the gurudwara but selling the site for £xxxx to the local council. I fail to understand what they need the money for. Now if they have any sense and the property is already freehold, they can easily rasie money on it rather than selling it. Everyone know that they will never be able to purchase that site again. I am shocked at what is happening there. Esp when this deal is being done behind Sangat's back. I can assure you a high majority of people are unaware of this. I support the idea that the number of gurudwaras should be reduced but then should be replaced with something else. Look at the church's. Even though they have closed for a long time, only a mere few have been sold. I can only see one reason behind this sale. Their own pockets are being lined up ;-) Nothing else. And where is the STU*ID Opposition now. How come they are not taking any action?

Fateh I have heard from a reliable source that the current committee of SGSS Southall, is trying to close Park Avenue Gurudwara. The site will be sold to ealing council in the very near future. Can someone confirm this? Have any one heard this? It will be a shame as it is quite a prime site, and if they need the money; then it can easily be raised on the property itself. Fateh . . . Guru payro jio We are all aware of the current issue of Bhai Rajowana. I do not want to take this conversation towards the ongoing movement and everyones efforts. I have tried to call into the TV channels with the following suggestion but didnot get through. However a gentle suggestion. Pls dont flame me for this. Yesterdays gathering at the IHC in London, achieved giving an open letter to IHC. My concern is that we as Sikhs are still not united in protesting and ensuring that this reaches the mass media i.e BBC, ITV, SKY, CNN..... How about this. The Baisakhi Nagar Kirtan's are cancelled to start with. We then arrange for a SINGLE (1) protest for UK in London, for France in Paris, For Holland in Amsterdam, For USA in Washington, where all Sangat turns up and have a protest. The Nagar Kirtan is to demonstrate and have a procession for Sikhi. The mass protest will achieve the same albeit require some administration and gathering. A protest of this nature will gather mass, and will get highlighted in the overall news coverage which gives us the exposure which is needed. Look at yesterdays gathering of 10-15K in London, it only made the Sikh TV and Sangat TV news, and was NOT even mentioned in the London Tonight. Appreciate concerete feedback rather than Flames. I do remember seeing this on the PTC channel. Veerji - I can not help you with this - sorry. But you may want to check on the Chardi Kala's web site and see if they have recording. There are also some recordings for the chardi kala jatha doing kirtan on youtube albeit none for 2012. Fateh . . . .

Fateh You are welcome I am not aware of anyone doing video recordings as well. The only people who will have that will be PTC punjabi channel as they have the rights to boradcast the video (am and pm) only. Again I am not sure if they will have archives and then have it available for public. It may be easier to get an answer if you can specify as to what you are really after Fateh...

Fateh . . . Thanks for the clarifications. I just was not sure hence .. Whilst on the maryada question...... I noticed that on one of the prominent sikh channels earlier this month their was a akhand path done. Well done to the TV channel for such a valiant effort. However when the sukhasan was done, the Granthi Singh started Chaupai Sahib and did the Sukhasan. When I watch other videos of Gurudwaras and Takhat Sahibs the Granthi does Kirtan Sohila and does the Sukhasan. What is the Maryada for Sukhasasn. It is just that it is the first time I have seen Sukhasan being done with Chaupai Sahib yet no Kirtan Sohila was recited. Pls clarify Thanks Fateh .. . .

Fateh Saw the morning programme on tv for Darbar sahib Just a few questions for clarification: 1. Noticed that the Asa Di // was already in progress before the Maharaj's parkash was done. I was under the impression that it is only done once the parkash has been done. 2. Whilst doing the parkash the granthi singhs were wiping the sheets with some sort of sponge. I am unsure of seeing this before. Has anyone else noticed these? Are these changes to the Maryada? Appreciate clarification. Fateh . . .

Fateh . . . It seems that the biggest stage of Sikhs outside the UK is once again in the headlines. Apparently the elections are mounting up again on the 6th March 2011, and we have similar incidents from the past.
