  1. need to state the importance of Kes in Sikhi, not just by leaflets (which were handed out in Edinburgh), but on a national scale. on tv, radio some kind of discussion programme
  2. Nice beginning and a nice conclusion, shame bout the stuff inthe middle :e:
  3. Machete, i feel exactly where ur coming from, but as Sikhs we have to refrain from anger! it brings tears to my eyes when i see true Sikhs like you. i feel that the Khalsa spirit is still alive. protesting and lobbying MP's is brilliant. the Morcha (whether done in person or education ways like meeting influential people) is good, but dont do nothing. dont wait for others to stand up before u? what if that happend in 1699 at Anandpur Sahib? then where would we all be? in the mosque!!!
  4. i can take all the critism in the world, cuz i know i aint done or said anything wrong. i guess the talkers will remain talkers and the people that take action will be critisised for doing something wrong. thats the way its always been, and truthfully i dont expect it to change. dont worry, i'm sure you'll be there when its closer to home or when the cameras are rolling giving it loads with ya bad boy hoodies on like u really give a damn. your all sheep in wolves clothing. look at the state of our Dharam! lets end the post here:- to all thoses Sikhs that attended, i say Bole Sonihaal, Sat Sri Akaal
  5. WJKK WJKF. I can see some people are saying that people that go to these protests come back with some kind of 'superiority complex',, and that these Sikhs think they are better than others and look down on others. Firstly I want to say that I am the worst Sikh in the world, I am the lowest of the low. But at least i was there!, now people may have good reasons why they couldnt make, and thats all good, but only you know if your reason was good enough. people are saying what difference have you made by going to Edinburgh? you would know the difference if you was there. the smiles on the kids, the local population looking at where have all these Sikhs come from? IT SHOWED UNITY. Its true that you cant put one cause over another, but do u go to the other causes? i doubt it? that kid was exactly like bhai taru singh ji. he had his kes cut off due to persecution. now think, how many sikhs out there take kes for granted? imagine tht was u or ya younger brother getting his kes cut? you'd be there in a flash. the difference is that kid is OUR brother!!!! i cant believe people are trying to flip this post onto the people that went. like it was a bad thing to go. i just hope that wen there is another march or protest to go to, that u do go and maybe u'll feel what the rest of the regular people feel. that talkin is easy, doing it is hard.
  6. WJKK WJKF. It was reported that around 200 Sikhs from around the UK turned up, and that it was a good turn out and that the local Edinburgh sangat was happy to see so many Singhs and Singhneea. Well only the last point brings a smile to myself. the other two points (200 sikhs and good turn out) are an absolute joke! Where were the other hundreds of thousands of 'Sikhs'? asleep? yeah! physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually!!! I myself was there and was I the only one who thought the turn out was shameful? Now I aint pointing fingers at any City in particular or any group of people (because you know yourself if and why you was there or not), considering the importance of hair in Sikhi, considering this is in the UK (on our doorstep), considering it was a young child to whom this happened to, considering most Gurudwaras were (or should have) provided FREE transport and langar, considering that people call themselves Sikhs, I for one was very disappointed. :D Its the same faces I see, same faces at the marches, same faces at the protests, same faces at the R4G rallys. :TH: Now i know it was cold (trust me people, I was freezing), but I personally feel that some people only give it loads in writing and when the camera lens is flashing  when the camera is on and lights are flashing then people want to run to the front!!! "get my pic in the paper so I can frame it"!!! people rant and rave about Khalistan (as you can tell by my signature), but if you cant make to Scotland, how the hell are you gonna have the kirpa to be in Punjab if anything goes on there? If that little kid is reading this, I just wanna say "Say strong Singh, and remember that although your hundreds of miles from some sangat, our thoughts, prayers and strength is with you" Bole Sonihaal, Sat Sri Akaal
  7. Listen to the track Saint Soldier on the Shaheedi Immortality CD (1st one), and near the end of the track the speech is there. tried uploading it to this post but it aint happening, sorry.
  8. WJKK WJKF Has anyone got any soundtrack files to some Dharmic films like 'Ucha dar babe Nanak da', and 'Nanak naam jahaaj hai'?

  11. its all a test!, educate your parents about what a sikh is. sikhi is not a religion, but a way of life. i'm sure they'll see the love in sikhi. i am so uopset that u may not continue on this path. i wish u all thebest and hope to see u on the site soon, askin questions like u always do. stay strong. Bole Sonihaal, Sat Sri Akaal!! :e:
  12. This beadbi happens at all nagar kirtans and the Gurudwaras need to do a proper formal announcement aginst such activities. its getting beyond a joke :e:
  13. Where's Pritam Singh Khalsa? HE's been through the same thing. WHERES PRITAM Just some words of encouragement. I know we will probably never meet, but along with all the other sikhs on this forum, we are always with you in spirit. if people shun you, say bad things about your choices or your looks then just remember two things:- cha(n)giaaeeaa buriaaeeaa vaachai dhharam hadhoor || Good deeds and bad deeds-the record is read out in the Presence of the Lord of Dharma. karamee aapo aapanee kae naerrai kae dhoor || According to their own actions, some are drawn closer, and some are driven farther away. also what better way to look than looking like your Guru. All the best for the future (another Singh rises) :e:
  14. I personally dont think you have to anything specific to become a Sikh. just read bani etc. take amrit when you are ready to become a khalsa. you are an inspiration to us all. there are alot of people who are born into sikh families, but just take it all for granted, thus not appreciating nor understand what a sikh is nd what a sikh should and should not do. all i can say to this thread is Bole Sonihaal, Sat Sri Akaal
  15. If a person is not Amritdhari (but is kesdhari), can/should they be allowed to wear some or all the kakkar? some cousins I know are not amritdhari and wear all kakkars except kirpan, is this ok?
  16. I read a book a few years ago and it had a section on karma (karam). its said that each person id affected by pichulair karam (previous lifes actions), and udham karam (this lifes actions) Bhull chuk maaf
