  1. Exactly! FYI, I did mention re: removing ones kachera completely off when taking a shower/bath (i.e. not dangling it on one leg) I think I will block this person from my pm facility.
  2. Gurbani.org has a series of excellent Gurmat vichaar articles. From what I gather, even though going to Gurdwara and doing paadh is fine, it is more important to apply Gurbani AFTER comtemplating on it. This excerpt is from an article from the above mentioned site. "Shabad-Kamaaee Or Practice From the foregoing verses, now we know that in order to connect with our Ture Nature, the Pure Consciousness, we must become imbued in Shabad-Consciousness (Shabad-Surti). How can we go about cultivating this Undivided Awareness? As said in the Gurbani, it is not an easy task! To walk on this path one has to continually read (or hear), digest, reflect, and live by the Divine Word. This is Shabad-Kamaaee or Shabad-Ghaalnaa or Spiritual Practice. ਰਾਗ ਨਾਦ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੈ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਝੈ ਵਿਰਲੋਈ ।: Raag naad sabh ko sunai sabad surti samjahi viraloee: Everybody just listen to "Raag and Naad", but a very rare one understands Shabad-Surti (Bhai Gurdaas, Vaar 15, Paurree 16)." Article "REALIZATION OF THE SHABAD OR NAAM" http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart22.htm Below is from another excellent gurmat vichaar article on the same site. "Therefore, the Gurbani is not given to us for mere ritualistic and mechanical reading or singing, nor for parrot-like memorization or showoff ceremonies. It is given to us for a very specific reason, that is, to understand the proper Spiritual philosophy and then act upon it. If that does not happen, then the Gurbani declares that there is no difference between a human being engaged in reading or listening to Gurbani and a beast engaged in filling his belly. Once the Gurbani is properly understood, we then come to possess all the essentials of right lifestyle — right thought, right speech, right action, and so on — which makes the proper behavior. From that point on, one does not only know the Truth, but he also lives by It. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਕਛੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਪਸੁ ਜਿਉ ਉਦਰੁ ਭਰਉ ॥: Gurmati suni kashu giyan na upjio pasu jiyu udar bharau: Despite listening to God's teaching (Gurmat), no spiritual wisdom has welled up within me; like a beast, I fill my belly (sggs 685)." 3. The latest pm from "khalsa_raj". It seems that this person is now changing part of her story regarding using pads and knickers!! "how do u know im a youth? for all u know i may be many years older than u! how can i not comprehend gurbani? u dont know how much bani i do or understand so why dont u keep ur opinions on me 2 yourself. i am a REAL singhnee as i dont think like a bahman unlike some! for your information i always comprehend bani so why dont u just shut ur trap. why are u twisting ur comments for? nobody said it was wrong for wearing pads on ur knickers when on ur period. ASLONG as u wear a kashera over ur underwear. and u dont remove ur kashera at any time! nobodys acting like a taliban expect u. and everybody who replied in the topic yesterday did use their brains first except u! and whos taking their kirpan out? why dont u use ur brain instead trying to make me and others out 2 look stupid! u ended up making urself look like an <banned word filter activated>. if u want 2 say crap about me on this website rather than coming and saying it 2 my face then fair enough. just shows how much of a <banned word filter activated> u are. hope i havent offended u, everything i said here is what i mean."
  4. Couldnt agree with you more. This manmat is all due to the "Bahman" mentality.
  5. I received this message from one of the new generation of youths after the discussion on female periods. "if u wanna get rude and call me a bahman. do it 2 my face give me a time date and place and ill be there ill SHOW you what a real singhnee (who isnt a bhaman and doesnt have a bhaman mentality) can do!" Why cant these very youths COMPREHEND Gurbani? Whats a real "singhee"? One who thinks like a "bahman" or one who comprehends gurbani after reading or listening to it? Dear youth of today - There is Absolutely Nothing Wrong in using press-on pads/towels onto our kachi (knickers) when having periods. So please stop acting like the TALEBANS!! Please Use your Brain first rather then taking out your Kirpan.!!!
  6. STOP IT! This ONE LEG business is RIDICULOUS!!. A kechara is a kechara. Simply remove it COMPLETELY when taking a shower or bath. Its not going make you less of a Sikh. Penji, just wear knickers. If you fill that wearing kechara on top of your knickers will make YOU FEEL like a better "Sikh" then do that. One dons underwear for modesty and thats what Guru jee wanted us to do. People of India at Guru jees time probably did not and maybe only wore a dhodi. Wear knickers and use "winged" press-on towels. This was how it started. I posted my recommendation but was bombarded with people with BAHMAN type mentality.

  8. ignorant??? GURBANI is AGAINST superstitous and ritualistic NONSENSE.. You calling Gurbani ignorant NOT ME!! :6 Fine. Just NAME THE PLACE. and I will show you WHERE in GURBANI it CLEARLY states about FUTILE ritualism and superstitious practices!
  9. YES I DARE.!! And I am a WOMEN!! Superstitious BAHMAN type ritualism is TOTALLY REJECTED by Sri Guru granth Sahib jee
  10. HAVE you even been FOLLOWING all the post.? The discussion is about "the one leg" business of wearing kechara when taking a shower or bath.
  11. Sorry I cannot be a BAHMAN like you. Try READING Gurbani. It might help you STOP thinking like a BAHMAN. 1. I am not a "dude". 2. SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE is BIGGER than me not "BAHMAN" teaching.
  12. 1. Bhai Gurdas jee DID NOT write vaar 41. 2. LUST - by keeping one leg in your kechara whilst taking a bath IS NOT GOING TO STOP your Lust!! READ what Gurbani as per Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee says about the MIND and KAAM. 3. In Guru Jees time people wore dhoti or not even wear modest loin covering.
  13. okayy?..... so then.... we shouldn't do nitnem cause thats a ritual we shouldn't do naam abhiyaas at amritvela cause thats a ritual Remembering the NAAM 24 hrs a day IS NOT practising futile man-made ritualism and superstitions. Not removing kechara whilst taking a bath or shower and saying that its part of Sikhee IS practising superstitious practice. Its no better then being a BAHMAN!! and practising BIPRAN KEE REET!!!
  14. SO WHY practice them?
  15. Please TELL me WHERE does it say in SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE that we should practice RITUALISM or SUPERSTITIOUS believes? Did Guru Jee say that we must practice ritualism or believe in superstitious practices? NO he DID NOT.
  16. RITUALISM is NOT Sikhee. Removing a kechara from our body to take a bath will NOT make us less of a Sikh. So please STOP distorting Sikhee!!!! Your clearly not getting the point. Let me help to make it clearer: OUR PANJ K'S CANNOT BE SEPERATED FROM OUR BODY, THATS WHY WE REMOVE ONE LEG FIRST, THEN THE OTHER...WE DO WHATEVER OUR PANJ PYARE TELL US...NOT WHAT YOU SAY..YOUR NOT GURU JI! I hope you understand now. RITUALISM is NOT Sikhee. Removing a kechara from our body to take a bath will NOT make us less of a Sikh. When we die, do you think our 'kechara' is going to go with us? So please STOP distorting Sikhee!!!! Your "Guru" is TEACHING you RITUALISM. MINE that is SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE is not. Gurbani as per Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee CLEARLY rejects futile ritualistic practices and superstitious believes.
  17. RITUALISM is NOT Sikhee. Removing a kechara from our body to take a bath will NOT make us less of a Sikh. So please STOP distorting Sikhee!!!!

  19. "Ramgaria" & "Sikh" Camp is an OXYMORON. You cannot teach Guru ki Mat under an umbrella of a caste or sect.!!
  20. Khalsa ji, you can watch some of the shows on this youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/KhalsaPanthMovement 'I disagree. As a family we have grown quite fond of Bhai Boota Singh and his jatha, my eldest kid (5 year old) wants to watch his katha/keertan every night. To us it's pretty high "quality" katha!' Totaly with you on that bhai sahib :D Thanks for the uploads. Having only virgin media subscription, I have not able to watch the programs on TV.

  23. http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=1536 ja(n)miaa pooth bhagath govi(n)dh kaa || "Pooth" does not neccassarily mean "a son". I know many older relatives who called me pooth as a term of endearment. What does the sangat think? Pooth as an endearment makes more sense in relation to overall Guru Mat . jio baalak pithaa oopar karae bahu maan || "Baalaak" would then translate to "offspring"
