You have an opinion, which i respect. But I disagree with u. Sukha Singh has been of inspiration to many to start keeping kesh and following Guru G's path. I think its good that YOM has been someone from a different background. His story is inspirational. I love meeting him when i get the chance to do so. Tell me brother, have you met him? Just ignore him, all they do is criticize others, thats what they do. He'll say he stands for the truth this and that.... but everyone can judge for themselves what the missionaries really are, especially international akali and his buddy khalsa fauji. Let me tell you another story. In the 80's a group of singhs in Canada werent allowed into a court room with kirpans on. Sikh organizations talked and bargained with authorities for months. A out of court settlement was reached with the courts saying Singhs can bring in kirpans no problem.... The Singhs werent satisfied with the settlement the sikh organizations came to, they said no we want this to go on the record, we will take you to court. Well they took it to court, and they lost. Now kirpans can legally be barred from court since than.... You would say what are we afraid of. its not about being afraid, its about knowing the sytem you live in, and using that system to your advantage. All paath reaches guru sahib equally, but different paaths havent different maryada, eg. asa di vaar is preferabbly done in the morning. if you dont follow the maryada its not to say your paath wont reach guru sahib. sant harnaam singh rights that shaheed singhs told them not to recite chandi di vaar after the sun sets. at the end of the day, people have different understandings at different levels.

if you look up khalsa fauj's page references and his interpretations of the saakhis and stories in question, read them urself and see how he has misinterpreted them all, and typed them in his own words while changing the whole meaning... its easy to follow someone who 'acts knowledgable', you should do some research yourself, before jumping on bandwagons and see what Sant Gyani Gurbachan Singh Ji has actually written. talking to someone on msn or reading something on a message board shouldnt be enough to make an opinion on something, open up a book or the granth in question and do khoj yourself. read the proper arth. than you can judge whether someone is knowledgable or misguided. i'll give you a quick example... khalsa fauj posted " 40. The people of Darfur – especially women and girls who are victim of intense sexual and gender-based violence - cannot be made to wait any longer. The UN Security Council has passed a resolution authorizing a UN peacekeeping force for Darfur with a strong mandate to protect civilians. Canada must use all its diplomatic clout to insure this force is deployed as soon as possible. II. Humanitarian Aid · Increased aid levels Earlier this year, food rations in Darfur were cut in half due to lack of funding. They have since been raised to 2/3 of the UN’s minimum daily level, but shortfalls continue to mean that men, women, and children are going hungry. Canada and the international community need to make sure that the humanitarian aid life support system that has kept millions of civilians alive in Darfur does not break down due to lack of resources. · Humanitarian access Food and medicine alone cannot save lives if they don’t get to the people who need them. Canada must work with the international community to maintain diplomatic pressure to ensure that humanitarian organizations retain unfettered access to all who need their help. III. Peace Process · Implementation of the Darfur Peace Agreement The signing on May 5 of the Darfur Peace Agreement was a step towards peace, but by no means a final one. For the agreement to become more than just another failed ceasefire, it is imperative that strong and sustained international pressure be brought to bear in order to ensure that; all parties to the agreement, and in particular the Khartoum government, live up to their responsibilities, including the verified disarming of the Janjaweed militias; and that all who hinder the peace process through violent action are held accountable for their actions; and that the Darfurian people are brought fully into an inclusive Darfur-Darfur dialogue to continue the ongoing peace process. In order to ensure that the required pressure is maintained, Secretary General Annan should immediately appoint a UN Special Envoy for Darfur to compel implementation, and if necessary strengthening, of the agreement.

I heard that the Toronto sangat is putting together a Darfur Support program, and the tentative date is June 24, at Rexdale Gurughar. Rumor has it the program will include keertan, speeches from human rights organizations about darfur, displays by youth, and an ardas for sarbat da bhalla. I also heard media will be invited aswell as families who have been directly affected by Darfur.
